| 2 | Mogroside V inhibits LPS-induced COX-2 expression/ROS production and overexpression of HO-1 by blocking phosphorylation of AKT1 in RAW264.7 cells显示文摘Momordica grosvenori is a valuable edible plant with medicinal purposes, and it is widely used in medicated diets and traditional Chinese medicine in Asia. Mogroside V (MV), the main bioactive component from M. grosvenori, is comm only used as a natural sweetener. M. grosvenori extracts have been reported to exert potent anti-inflammatory property, however the underlying molecular mechanism still remains unknown. In the present study, the biological effect of MV in inflammation was investigated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The ELISA and western blot analysis results showed that MV significantly inhibited LPS-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression. MV markedly decreased the phosphorylation of IxB-a, increased IkB-oc, and reduced nuclear p-65 and C/EBP6. Furthermore, MV attenuated LPS-induced phosphorylation of MAPKs and AKT1, and only the phosphorylation status of AKT1 was found to be consistent with the expression trend of COX-2. Moreover, MV reduced ROS level and restored overexpressed HO-1 and AP-1 to basal level, which can be markedly reversed by AKT1 inhibitor LY294002. These results revealed that AKT1 plays a key role in LPS-induced COX-2 expression, and acts as a mediator to keep the redox balance in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. MV exerts anti-inflammatory property by blocking AKT1-mediated NF-kB and C/EBP6 activation, ROS generation and AP-1/ HO-1 expression. | 3 | Improving anode performances of lithium-ion capacitors employing carbon-Si composites显示文摘The lithium-ion capacitor is a promising energy storage system with a higher energy density than traditional supercapacitors.However,its cycling and rate performances,which depend on the electrochemical properties of the anode,are still required to be improved.In this work,soft carbon anodes reinforced using carbon-Si composites of various compositions were fabricated to investigate their beneficial influences on the performance of lithium-ion capacitors.The results showed that the specific capacities of the anodes increased significantly by 16.6 mAh g^(-1) with 1.0 wt% carbon-Si composite,while the initial discharge efficiency barely changed.The specific capacity of the anode with a 10.0 wt% carbon-Si composite reached 513.1 mAh g^(-1),and the initial discharge efficiency was 83.79%.Furthermore,the anodes with 7.5 wt% or lower amounts of carbon-Si composite demonstrated reduced charge transfer resistances,which caused an improvement in the rate performance of the lithium-ion capacitors.Moreover,the use of the optimized amount(7.5 wt%) of carbon-Si composite in the anode could significantly improve the cycling performance of the lithium-ion capacitor by compensating the consumption of active lithium.The capacity retention of the lithium-ion capacitor reached 95.14% at 20 C after 10,000 cycles,while the anode potential remained below 0.412 V,which is much lower than that of a soft carbon anode. | Ya-Bin An Si Chen Min-Min Zou Lin-Bin Geng Xian-Zhong Sun Xiong Zhang Kai Wang Yan-Wei Ma | 2019 | Rare Metals2019,38,12: | 10 |

| 7 | Jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction显示文摘The influences of the acoustic impedance and shock strength on the jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction are numerically studied in this work. The process of a shock interacting with a krypton or a SF 6 bubble is studied by the numerical method VAS2D. As a validation, the experiments of a SF 6 bubble accelerated by a planar shock were performed. The results indicate that, due to the mismatch of acoustic impedance, the way of jet formation in heavy gas bubble with different species is diversified under the same initial condition. With respect to the same bubble, the manner of jet formation is also distinctly different under different shock strengths. The disparities of the acoustic impedance result in different effects of shock focusing in the bubble, and different behaviors of shock wave inside and outside the bubble. The analyses of the wave pattern and the pressure variation indicate that the jet formation is closely associated with the pressure perturbation. Moreover, the analysis of the vorticity deposition, and comparisons of circulation and baroclinic torque show that the baroclinic vorticity also contributes to the jet formation. | 11 | Is combined lipid-regulating therapy safe and feasible for the very old patients with mixed dyslipidemia?显示文摘OBJECTIVES: To detect the efficacy and safety of combined lipid-regulating therapies in the very old patients with mixed dyslipidemia and determine an appropriate therapy for them。 METHODS: Four hundred and fifty patients aged over 75 with mixed dyslipidemia were divided into five groups according to different combination therapies。 Lipid levels and drug related adverse events were tested during the study。 RESULTS: Total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels were reduced in every group compared to baseline: statin + ezetimibe: -30.0% and -55.5%; statin + policosanol: -31.1% and -51.2%; statin + fibrates: -23.7% and -44.6%; statin + niacin: -25.2% and -43.0%; and niacin + fibrates: -11。3% and -23.5%。 The target achievement rates of LDL-C all exceeded 50%, except in niacin + fibrates (42.0%); statin + ezetimibe: 57.0%; statin + policosanol: 56.0%; statin + niacin: 52.0%; and statin + fibrates: 50.0%。 However, overall, the niacin + fibrates group was the most effective in decreasing triglyceride (TG) and increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) as follows: niacin + fibrates: -39.3% and 28.6%; statin + fibrates: -29.3% and 18.4%; statin + niacin: -18.5% and 16.7%; statin + ezetimibe: -17.1% and 7.1%; and statin + policosanol: -15.6% and 9.5%。 The achievement rates of TG and HDL-C levels in niacin + fibrates (58.0% and 39.0%) were better than the other four groups: statin + niacin (34.0% and 34.0%), statin + fibrates (43.0% and 28.0%), statin + policosanol (30.0% and 24.0%) and statin + ezetimibe (28.0% and 25.0%)。 Patients in all five groups experiencing drug adverse events were only 2% and no severe adverse events occurred。 CONCLUSIONS: Statin + ezetimibe was the most effective group in lowering TC and LDL-C levels, while niacin + fibrates was the most effective in decreasing TG and increasing HDL-C levels。 The commonly used combined lipid-regulating therapies with common dosages in this study were all quite safe and feasible for the very old patients with mixed hyperlipidemia。 | Xiao Zou Quan-Jin Si | 2013 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2013,10,4: | 3 |
| 12 | A Dose-response Meta-analysis of Egg Intake and Breast Cancer Risk显示文摘Aim Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods in nature,but there is no unified conclusion about the association between egg intake and breast cancer risk.Methods The PubMed and Web of Science databases for the literature on egg intake and breast cancer risk were searched for papers published during the last 10 years.These were then filtered according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Stata16.0 software was applied to perform a meta-analysis,the generalized least squares method and constrained cubic spline model were used to assess the dose-response trends between egg intake and breast cancer risk.Results A total of 9 articles were included:6 case control studies and 3 cohort studies.The Newcastle-Ottawa scale(NOS)values of the included articles were all≥6 points.The pooled relative risks(RR)of egg intake and breast cancer risk was 0.91(95%CI:0.69-1.19).The dose-response analysis showed a linear trend for egg intake and breast cancer risk(P=0.689).With every 10 g/day increase in egg intake,the incidence of breast cancer increased by 2%(RR=1.02,95%CI:0.99-1.05).However,these results were not statistically significant.Conclusion This meta-analysis found no significant association between egg intake and breast cancer. | Peng Wei Ma Fei Fei Feng Zi Ang Shi Ke Di Xu Yuan Lin Zou Yan Li Wang Si Qi Ning Chun Hua Song | 2021 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,2: | 3 |

| 17 | Kinetic Characterization of Tyrosinase-catalyzed Oxidation of Four Polyphenols显示文摘Phenolic compounds such as chlorogenic acid,cryptochlorogenic acid,neochlorogenic acid and caffeic acid are widely distributed in fruits,vegetables and traditional Chinese medicines with a wide range of biological activities.Tyrosinase plays a critical role in the food industry,but recent studies have proposed unexplored aspects of clinical application.Tyrosinase-catalyzed oxidation of four polyphenols as well as its underlying mechanism remains unclear.In the current work,we investigated the kinetic properties of tyrosinase-catalyzed oxidation of the four polyphenols of interest.To measure the unstable o-quinone products,an analytical method using 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone(MBTH)was established.The optimal incubation time,buffer pH,temperature and enzyme concentration for the enzyme activity in the presence of each polyphenol of interest were investigated.Under the final optimized conditions,the kinetics and substrate specificity of four polyphenols were examined.K inetic data showed that tyrosinase had the greatest substrate affinity to chlorogenic acid compared with its isomers and caffeic acid.The catalytic efficiency with chlorogenic acid was 8-to 15-fold higher than that with the other 3 polyphenols.Molecular docking study demonstrated that the tight binding of chlorogenic acid at the peripheral site should be the major reason for the specificity to chlorogenic acid.In light of this,the rational design of high-affinity inhibitors against tyrosinase may focus on the binding of both the Cu site and peripheral site.This study will supply a basis for the selection of phenolic acids in food industry and health carc. | Wan-yu LIU Cong-ming ZOU Jian-hua HU Zi-jun XU Lu-qin SI Jun-jun LIU Jian-geng HUANG | 2020 | Current Medical Science2020,40,2: | 2 |
| 18 | 基于DPM模型的离心泵非定常固液两相流及磨损计算(英文)显示文摘In this paper, the discrete phase model (DPM) and semi-empirical wear model were used to simulatethe unsteady solid-liquid two-phase flows and wear in a centrifugal pump, to explore the solid particle movementand the wear of the pump. The liquid phase was solved by the fluid governing equations in the Euler coordinatesystem; the solid particle phase was treated as a discrete medium and solved by the equations of particle motion inLagrange coordinate. The solid-liquid phase coupling was performed using iterative numerical method. An IS typecentrifugal pump was selected in the simulation. Water and sand particle were chosen as the continuous phase andthe discrete phase, respectively. The particle volumetric ratio at the pump inlet was in the range of 0.5%-3%with the particle size of 0.05-0.2 mm. | 19 | Future Precipitation Extremes in China under Climate Change and Their Physical Quantification Based on a Regional Climate Model and CMIP5 Model Simulations显示文摘The atmospheric water holding capacity will increase with temperature according to Clausius-Clapeyron scaling and affects precipitation.The rates of change in future precipitation extremes are quantified with changes in surface air temperature.Precipitation extremes in China are determined for the 21st century in six simulations using a regional climate model,RegCM4,and 17 global climate models that participated in CMIP5.First,we assess the performance of the CMIP5 models and RCM runs in their simulation of extreme precipitation for the current period(RF:1982-2001).The CMIP5 models and RCM results can capture the spatial variations of precipitation extremes,as well as those based on observations:OBS and XPP.Precipitation extremes over four subregions in China are predicted to increase in the mid-future(MF:2039-58)and far-future(FF:2079-98)relative to those for the RF period based on both the CMIP5 ensemble mean and RCM ensemble mean.The secular trends in the extremes of the CMIP5 models are predicted to increase from 2008 to 2058,and the RCM results show higher interannual variability relative to that of the CMIP5 models.Then,we quantify the increasing rates of change in precipitation extremes in the MF and FF periods in the subregions of China with the changes in surface air temperature.Finally,based on the water vapor equation,changes in precipitation extremes in China for the MF and FF periods are found to correlate positively with changes in the atmospheric vertical wind multiplied by changes in surface specific humidity(significant at the p<0.1 level). | Peihua QIN Zhenghui XIE Jing ZOU Shuang LIU Si CHEN | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,3: | 2 |
| 20 | “Ferrero-like”nanoparticles knotted injectable hydrogels to initially scavenge ROS and lastingly promote vascularization in infarcted hearts显示文摘Myocardial infarction(MI)exhibits a complicated and ever-accelerated pathological change involving excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the initial stage,and a permanently inadequate blood supply.Herein,an injectable hydrogel fabricated by nanoparticles(NPs)knotted thiolated hyaluronic acid(HA-SH)was reported to reverse the hostile microenvironment and rebuild the heart functions after MI.Inspired by the composite shell-core structure of Ferrero chocolate sphere,a mimetic nanocarrier was designed to consist of the hydrophobic dimethyloxalylglycine(DMOG)NPs core and a thick polydopamine(PDA)shell formed by the self-polymerization of dopamine embedded with watersoluble drug epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG)throughπ-πinteractions.The resulted'Ferrero-like'NPs exhibited a'three-inone'capacity,namely loading two distinct drugs,elimination of ROS,and serving a crosslinker to knot HA-SH.'Ferrero-like'NPs and HA-SH could rapidly form a hydrogel that exhibited a stable mechanical property,high capability to capture ROS,and programmed release of EGCG and DMOG.Four weeks after deploying the'Ferrero-like'NPs knotted hydrogels into rat infarcted hearts,the ejection fraction(EF)increased by 23.7%,and the infarct size decreased by 21.1%,and the fibrotic area reduced by 24.4%.The outcomes of immunofluorescence staining and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RTPCR)demonstrated a down-regulation of inflammatory factors(tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)),up-regulation of vascular related growth factors(hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA),von Willebrand factor(vWF),angiopoietin-1(Ang-1))and cardiac-related m RNAs(gap junction protein(Cx43),Cadherin 2).All in all,in this report,a very simple approach to intertemporally address the intricate and ongoing pathological changes after MI by injecting'Ferrero-like'NPs knotted hydrogels is developed to reverse hostile microenvironment,with an ability to scavenge ROS,down-regulate pro-inflammation factors in the first stage,and promote angiogenesis in a long term,thereby contributing to a significant improvement of heart functions. | HAN XiaoXu LI Lan XIE Tian CHEN Si ZOU Yang JIN Xin LI Sheng WANG Meng HAN Ning FAN GuanWei LIU WenGuang WANG Wei | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,11: | 2 |
