1Biogenic carbonate formation and sedimentation in the Xisha Islands: evidences from living Halimeda显示文摘A recent island survey reveals that the Xuande Atoll and the Yongle Atoll in the Xisha Islands can be classified into one of two systems: the depleted atoll system and growth atoll system; the survey also indicates that the decreased area of several shoals is an unbearable burden for the Xisha Islands, of which the largest island area is 2.13 km2 and the minimum elevation is 1.4 m. According to a survey on the ecological characteristics of Halimeda in the Laolongtou breaker zone of Shidao Island in the Xisha Islands, the green and white living Halimeda are collected,the isotopic ages of 14 C contained in the Halimeda are shown to be 27 years and 55 years, respectively, and carbonate mainly occurs in five types, i.e., luster, segment, sand, sand grain, and marl in the formation. The Halimeda segments mainly provide the carbonate sediments of long-term biogenic deposits in the reef environment and the annual productivity per area is 60–100 g/m2; the characteristics of the microstructure of the Halimeda are analyzed, the aragonite raphide carbonate is deposited and enriched in the cortexes, medullas and cysts, and the Halimeda generally contain major elements such as C, O, Ca, Cl, Mg, K, Na, S and Al, and are rich in trace elements such as tellurium(Te), rhodium(Rh) and strontium. It is believed that the Halimeda grow slowly,including the biotic community of reef corals in the reef areas, thus they possess an environmental remediation capacity, but it takes much time to remedy the environment, and it is necessary to make the law to protect the diversity and vulnerability of the Xisha marine ecology, the ecology of the reef community and the island environment in a scientific way. As indicated in the survey, under the background of global warming and sea-level rise, the discovery of large amounts of Halimeda in the Laolongtou sea area is significant for the natural increase of the depleted atoll system of the Xuande Atoll, while the Halimeda segments represent the primary form of the fossil Halimeda, of which the species can be identified and preserved in great numbers under geological conditions. The Miocene was discovered in large amounts in the Xichen-1 well, therefore the study on the characteristics and mechanism of Halimeda carbonate sediments plays a pivotal role in the formation and construction of organic reefs in the South China Sea as well as oil and gas exploration.XU Hong ZHAO Xinwei EBERLI G.P. 2Characteristics of porosity and permeability layer of fossil Halimeda reef mineral rock of Miocene in the Xisha Islands and its genetic model显示文摘Halimeda is one of the major reef-building algas in the middle Miocene of Xisha, and one of the significant reefbuilding algas in the algal reef oil and gas field of the South China Sea. However, there have been few reports regarding the characteristics of mineral rocks, reservoir porosity and permeability layers, and sedimentationdiagenetic-evolution of fossil Halimeda systems. The present paper briefly introduces the relevant studies on chlorophyta Halimeda and the research status of oil and gas exploration. Through the 1 043 m core of the Xichen-1 well, we studied the characteristics of the mineral rocks and porosity and permeability of the middle Miocene Halimeda of the Yongle Atoll, identified and described the segments of fossil Halimeda, and pointed out that most of the segment slides are vertical sections in ovular, irregular or long strips. The overwhelming majority of these fossil Halimeda found and studied are vertical sections instead of cross sections. In this paper, knowledge regarding the cross sections of fossil Halimeda is reported and proven to be similar with the microscopic characteristics of modern living Halimeda; fossil Halimeda are buried in superposition; it is shown that there are different structures present, including typical bio-segment structure, and due to its feature of coexisting with red alga, tying structure, twining structure and encrusting structure are all present; and finally, it is suggested to classify the fossil Halimeda into segment algal reef dolomites. In addition, all of the studied intervals are moderately dolomitized. Secondary microcrystalline-dolosparite dominates the original aragonite raphide zones,and aphanitic-micrite dolomite plays the leading role in the cortexes and medullas; in the aragonite raphide zones between medulla and cysts, secondary dissolved pores and intercrystalline pores are formed inside the segments, and algal frame holes are formed between segments; therefore, a pore space network system(dissolved pores + intragranular dissolved pores—intercrystalline pores + algal frame holes) is established. Segment Halimeda dolomite has a porosity of 16.2%–46.1%, a permeability of 0.203×10–3–2 641×10–3 μm2, and a throatradius of 23.42–90.43 μm, therefore it is shown to be a good oil and gas reservoir. 3A glutathione-triggered precision explosive system for improving tumor chemosensitivity显示文摘Stimuli-responsive delivery systems hold promise in cancer treatments.However,their application potential has been limited due to undesirable drug leaking during blood circulation and inefficient therapeutic efficacy in tumors,resulting in undesirable therapeutic outcomes.Herein,we have developed a novel redox-sensitive pegylated phospholipid,termed as DOPE-SS-PEG,which can form a glutathione(GSH)-triggered precision explosive system(GPS)for simultaneously improving circulation stability,tumor specificity,and chemosensitivity,leading to explosive anticancer effects.GPS is constructed of liposomal doxorubicin(DOX)functionalized with DOPE-SS-PEG and MnO_(2) nanoparticles,which can protect liposome structure in the presence of serum GSH(20μM),whereas converts to cationic liposome in response to intracellular GSH(10 mM),thereby enhancing circulation stability,tumor specificity,endosomal escape,and cytoplasmic delivery.Importantly,GPS can not only generate oxygen to relieve hypoxia and consequently enhance chemosensitivity,but quench GSH antioxidability to elevate the accruement of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS),leading to an explosion of oxidative stress induced cell injury.Particularly,in vivo studies show that GPS selectively accumulates in tumor tissues,effectively inhibits tumor growth,exhibits minimal systemic adverse effects,and consequently prolongs the survival time of tumor-bearing mice.Therefore,GPS is a unique stimuli-responsive treatment with programmed and on-demand drug delivery,as well as explosive therapeutic efficacy,and provides an intelligent anticancer treatment.Yuanyuan Nie Yurui Xu Ya Gao Jielei He Lei Sun Jianmei Chen Yushuang Cui Haixiong Ge Xinghai Ning 2021Nano Research2021,14,7:0
4The Precursor of GRB211211A:A Tide-induced Giant Quake?显示文摘The equilibrium configuration of a solid strange star in the final inspiral phase with another compact object is generally discussed,and the starquake-related issue is revisited,for a special purpose to understand the precursor emission of binary compact star merger events(e.g.,that of GRB211211A).As the binary system inspirals inward due to gravitational wave radiation,the ellipticity of the solid strangeon star increases due to the growing tidal field of its compact companion.Elastic energy is hence accumulated during the inspiral stage which might trigger a starquake before the merger when the energy exceeds a critical value.The energy released during such starquakes is calculated and compared to the precursor observation of GRB211211 A.The result shows that the energy might be insufficient for binary strangeon-star case unless the entire solid strangeon star shatters,and hence favors a black hole-strangeon star scenario for GRB211211A.The timescale of the precursor as well as the frequency of the observed quasi-periodic-oscillation have also been discussed in the starquake model.Enping Zhou Yong Gao Yurui Zhou Xiaoyu Lai Lijing Shao Weiyang Wang Shaolin Xiong Renxin Xu Shuxu Yi Garvin Yim Han Yue Zhen Zhang 2024Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2024,24,2:0
5Preparation and photodetection performance of high crystalline quality and large size β-Ga_(2)O_(3)microwires显示文摘Ultrawide band gap semiconductors are promising solar-blind ultraviolet(UV)photodetector materials due to their suitable bandgap,strong absorption and high sensitivity.Here,β-Ga_(2)O_(3)microwires with high crystal quality and large size were grown by the chemical vapor deposition(CVD)method.The microwires reach up to 1 cm in length and were single crystalline with low defect density.Owing to its high crystal quality,a metal–semiconductor–metal photodetector fabricated from a Ga_(2)O_(3)microwire showed a responsivity of 1.2 A/W at 240 nm with an ultrahigh UV/visible rejection ratio(R_(peak)/R_(400 nm))of 5.8×10^(5),indicating that the device has excellent spectral selectivity.In addition,no obvious persistent photoconductivity was observed in the test.The rise and decay time constants of the device were 0.13 and 0.14 s,respectively.This work not only provides a growth method for high-quality Ga_(2)O_(3)microwires,but also demonstrates the excellent performance of Ga_(2)O_(3)microwires in solar-blind ultraviolet detection.Yuefei Wang Yurui Han Chong Gao Bingsheng Li Jiangang Ma Haiyang Xu Aidong Shen Yichun Liu 2023Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,6:0
6Stimuli-responsive combination therapy of cisplatin and Nrf2 siRNA for improving antitumor treatment of osteosarcoma显示文摘Cisplatin is a widely applied therapeutics for the treatment of osteosarcoma.However,its clinical applications have been hindered due to low efficacy and bioavailability,and particularly frequent emergence of reactive oxygen species(ROS)-decrease induced drug resistance.The transcription factor NF-E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)is increased in cancer patients and induces poor outcome in osteosarcoma treatment,making it a novel target to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy.Herein,a hyaluronidase-responsive multi-layer liposome(HLCN)for co-delivery of cisplatin and Nrf2 siRNA(siNrf2)is developed.It is composed of Vpr52-96 modified liposome covered with hyaluronic acid(HA).HLCN selectively accumulates in osteosarcoma by targeting tumor-specific CD44,and can be degraded by endosomal hyaluronidase to generate cationic liposome,which promotes the endosomal escape of Vpr52-96,cisplatin and siNrf2.HLCN can effectively decrease Nrf2 level,promote ROS generation,activate itochondrial apoptotic pathway,and consequently enhance anticancer efficacy of cisplatin.Particularly,HLCN shows high cytotoxicity to osteosarcoma cells with an IC50 value of about 1µM,which is four-fold lower than liposomal cisplatin(IC504µM),indicating that Nrf2 silence can significantly improve cisplatin sensitivity in cancer cells.Importantly,HLCN can remarkably inhibit tumor growth in the xenograft osteosarcoma mice with minimal systemic adverse effects.Therefore,this novel stimuli-responsive combination therapy of cisplatin and siNrf2 provides a promising strategy for the treatment of osteosarcoma.Ting-Ting Gu Chengjun Li Yurui Xu Lei Zhang Xue Shan Xinyu Huang Leilei Guo Kerong Chen Xiaojian Wang Haixiong Ge Xinghai Ning 2020Nano Research2020,13,3:0
7Responses of the East Component of Beijing GNSS Continuous Observation Stations to the 2011 Japan M_W 9.0 Earthquake显示文摘Several new demands have been put forward for the application of the Beijing continuous GNSS observations due to some particular reasons,such as the limited coverage of the observation network,the different construction and management criterion executed by different units and the intense interference resulting from human activity. In this paper,necessary processing of data is carried out, including more accurate calculation,corrections to the replacement,outliers and relocation of equipment,and elimination of linear trends in the E-component for every station. The E-components of the 16 available stations showed a lower sawtooth wave anomaly( s lowly westward propagating) b efore the2011 Tohoku M W9. 0 earthquake,a coseismic step rebound( rapid eastward propagating)and a post-seismic Ω-shaped recovery. These steps constituted a complete earthquake process which was rarely seen before in the GNSS observations and provides a good example for further study. 8Spatiotemporal Pattern of Cultivated Land Pressure and Its Influencing Factors in the Huaihai Economic Zone, China显示文摘Cultivated land pressure represents a direct reflection of grain security. Existing relevant studies rarely approached the spatiotemporal pattern of cultivated land pressure or the spatial heterogeneity of its influencing factors from the level of economic zones.Taking the Huaihai Economic Zone(HEZ), China for case analysis, this study investigated the spatiotemporal pattern of cultivated land pressure in diverse periods from 2000 to 2018 based on a modified cultivated land pressure index and spatial correlation models. On this basis, it explored the influencing factors of the spatial differentiation of cultivated land pressure in the late stage of the study using geographical detector as well as multi-scale geographically weighted regression model. The results indicated that: 1) in the study period, the global cultivated land pressure index of the study area decreased gradually, but cultivated land pressure increased locally in a significant way, especially in the central and southern Shandong Province;2) the spatial pattern of cultivated land pressure manifested global clustering features. Hot and secondary-hot spots presented a narrowing and clustering trend, whereas cold and secondary-cold spots manifested a spreading and clustering trend;3) average slope, the proportion of non-grain crops, population urbanization rate, and multiple cropping index have significant effects on the spatial differentiation of cultivated land pressure. The former three factors were positively correlated with cultivated land pressure, and the last factor was negatively correlated with cultivated land pressure;and 4) the amount of cultivated land has increased in the central and southern Shandong Province through land consolidation which, nonetheless, failed to improve the grain production. In regards to major grain producing areas similar to the HEZ in China, the authors suggest that great importance should be given to the balance of the quality and quantity of cultivated land, the optimization of agricultural production factors and the rational control of non-grain crops, thus providing a powerful guarantee for grain security in China.LI Yi FANG Bin LI Yurui FENG Weilun YIN Xu 2023Chinese Geographical Science2023,33,2:0
