1Curative effect of warming kidney and fortifying spleen recipe on diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the curative effect of a recipe for warming the kidney and fortifying the spleen on diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D).METHODS:This multi-center,double-blind,randomized,and controlled trial included 240 patients that met the inclusion criterion and were then divided into two groups of 120.Patients in the treatment group(group A)took modified Sishen Wan orally for warming the kidney and fortifying the spleen and patients in the control group(group B)took a placebo,Chao Maiya,for 4 weeks.28 days after withdrawal,there was a 6-month follow-up to observe patient recurrence condition.The total effective rate,curative effect,and recurrence rate were evaluated after treatment.RESULTS:There was statistical difference(P<0.01)between the two groups in total effective rate(92.24%in the treatment group and 49.07%in the control group),in curative effect of TCM syndrome(90.52%and 47.22%,respectively),and in the recurrence rate(15.79%and 56.86%,respectively)within6 months after treatment.CONCLUSION:Modified Sishen Wan,for warming the kidney and fortifying the spleen,can effectively treat IBS-D and better control its recurrence.Xiaolan Su Yanping Tang Jing Zhang Yuebin Dong Wei Wei Yibing Bai Yong Liu 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:22
2ZmCOL3, a CCT gene represses flowering in maize by interfering with the circadian clock and activating expression of ZmCCT显示文摘Flowering time is a trait vital to the adaptation of flowering plants to different environments.Here, we report that CCT domain genes play an important role in flowering in maize(Zea mays L.).Among the 53 CCT family genes we identified in maize, 28 were located in flowering time quantitative trait locus regions and 15 were significantly associated with flowering time, based on candidate-gene association mapping analysis.Furthermore, a CCT gene named ZmCOL3 was shown to be a repressor of flowering.Overexpressing ZmCOL3 delayed flowering time by approximately 4 d, in either long-day or short-day conditions.The absence of one cytosine in the ZmCOL3 3'UTR and the presence of a 551 bp fragment in the promoter region are likely the causal polymorphisms contributing to the maize adaptation from tropical to temperate regions.We propose a modified model of the maize photoperiod pathway, wherein ZmCOL3 acts as an inhibitor of flowering either by transactivating transcription of ZmCCT, one of the key genes regulating maize flowering, or by interfering with the circadian clock.Minliang Jin Xiangguo Liu Wei Jia Haijun Liu Wenqiang Li Yong Peng Yanfang Du Yuebin Wang Yuejia Yin Xuehai Zhang Qing Liu Min Deng Nan Li Xiyan Cui Dongyun Hao Jianbing Yan 2018Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2018,60,6:14

4Growth and metal uptake of energy sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) in different metal mine tailings with soil amendments显示文摘A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the feasibility of growing energy sugarcane(Saccharum spp.) in three different metal mine tailings(Cu, Sn and Pb/Zn tailings) amended with uncontaminated soil at different mixing ratios. The results indicated that sugarcane was highly tolerant to tailing environments. Amendments of 20% soil to Sn tailings and 30% soil to Cu tailings could increase the biomass of cane-stem for use as the raw material for bioethanol production. Heavy metals were mostly retained in roots, which indicated that sugarcane was useful for the stabilization of the tailings. Bagasse and juice, as the most valuable parts to produce bioethanol, only accounted for 0.6%– 3% and 0.6%–7% of the total metal content. 5Synthesis and electrochemical performance of LiMnPO_4 /C composites cathode materials显示文摘LiMnPO_4 /C composites were synthesized via solid-state reaction with different carbon sources: sucrose, citric acid and oxalic acid. The sam- ples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical performance test. The results of XRD reveal that carbon coating has no effect on the phase of LiMnPO_4 . The LiMnPO_4 /C synthesized at 600 °C with citric acid as carbon source shows an initial discharge capacity of 117.8 mA·hg^-1 at 0.05 C rate. After 30 cycles, the capacity remains 98.2 mAh·g^-1 . 7Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Mineralization of Chlorobenzene by Paratungstate-loaded Titania Catalysts in an Aqueous Medium显示文摘Paratungstate-loaded titania catalysts were prepared %via% the addition of a series of aqueous solutions of paratungstate(denoted as W_ 7) into an isopropanol solution of Ti[OCH(CH_ 3)_ 2]_ 4 by means of the sol-gel method. The catalysts were characterized by EDX, BET, FTIR, UV-Vis DRS, XRD and the results indicate that such paratungstate-loaded catalysts maintained their heptatungstate structure in the anatase titania matrix up to 400 ℃. The catalysts were tested for the heterogeneous photodegradation of chlorobenzene in aqueous media and showed a better catalytic activity than P-25 TiO_ 2 because paratungstate can prevent the recombination of the holes and electrons produced during irradiation. 15Flux Vector Splitting Schemes for Water Hammer Flows in Pumping Supply Systems with Air Vessels显示文摘To solve water hammer problems in pipeline systems,many numerical simulation approaches have been developed. This paper improves a flux vector splitting( FVS) scheme whose grid is the same as the fixedgrid MOC scheme. The proposed FVS scheme is used to analyze water hammer problems caused by a pump abrupt shutdown in a pumping system with an air vessel. This paper also proposes a pump-valve-vessel model combining a pump-valve model with an air vessel model. The results show that the data obtained by the FVS scheme are similar to the ones obtained by the fixed-grid method of characteristics( MOC). And the results using the pump-valve-vessel model are almost the same as the ones using both the pump-valve model and the air vessel model. 20The pre-mRNA splicing factor RDM16 regulates root stem cell maintenance in Arabidopsis显示文摘Pre-mRNA(messenger RNA)splicing participates in the regulation of numerous biological processes in plants.For example,alternative splicing shapes transcriptomic responses to abiotic and biotic stress,and controls developmental programs.However,no study has revealed a role for splicing in maintaining the root stem cell niche.Here,a screen for defects in root growth in Arabidopsis thaliana identified an ethyl methane sulfonate mutant defective in pre-m RNA splicing(rdm16-4).The rdm16-4 mutant displays a short-root phenotype resulting from fewer cells in the root apical meristem.The PLETHORA1(PLT1)and PLT2 transcription factor genes are important for root development and were alternatively spliced in rdm16-4 mutants,resulting in a disordered root stem cell niche and retarded root growth.The root cap of rdm16-4 contained reduced levels of cytokinins,which promote differentiation in the developing root.This reduction was associated with the alternative splicing of genes encoding cytokinin signaling factors,such as ARABIDOPSIS HISTIDINE PHOSPHOTRANSFER PROTEIN5 and ARABIDOPSIS RESPONSE REGULATORS(ARR1,ARR2,and ARR11).Furthermore,expression of the full-length coding sequence of ARR1 or exogenous cytokinin application partially rescued the short-root phenotype of rdm16-4.This reveals that the RDM16-mediated alternative splicing of cytokinin signaling components contributes to root growth.Bingsheng Lv Kongqin Hu Te Tian Kaijing Wei Feng Zhang Yuebin Jia Huiyu Tian Zhaojun Ding 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,4:1
