1Expression in Escherichia coli of Three Different Soybean Late Embryogenesis Abundant (LEA) Genes to Investigate Enhanced Stress Tolerance显示文摘In order to identify the function of late embryogenesis abundant (LEA) genes, in vitro functional analyses were perfo rmed using an Escherichia coli heterologous expression system. Three soybean late embryogenesis abundant (LEA) genes, PM11 (GenBank accession No. AF004805; group 1), PM30 (AF1 17884; group 3), and ZLDE-2 (AY351918; group 2), were cloned and expressed in a pET-28a system.The gene products were separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and identified by mass spectrometry. E. coli cells containing the recombinant plasmids or empty vector as controls were treated by salt and low temperature stress. Compared with control cells, the E. coli cells expressing either PM11 or PM30 showed a shorter lag period and improved growth when transferred to LB (Luria-Bertani) liquid media containing 800 mmol/L NaCl or 700 mmol/L KCl or after 4 ℃ treatment. E. coli cells expressing ZLDE-2 did not show obvious growth improvement both in either high KCl medium or after 4 ℃ treatment. 4Synthesis of a novel ternary HA/Fe-Mn oxides-loaded biochar composite and its application in cadmium(Ⅱ) and arsenic(Ⅴ) adsorption显示文摘Cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As) are two of the most toxic elements.However,the chemical behaviors of these two elements are different,making it challenging to utilize a single adsorbent with high adsorption capacity for both Cd(Ⅱ) and As(Ⅴ) removal.To solve this problem,we synthesized HA/Fe-Mn oxides-loaded biochar (HFMB),a novel ternary material,to perform this task,wherein scanning electron microscopy (SEM) combined with EDS (SEM-EDS) was used to characterize its morphological and physicochemical properties.The maximum adsorption capacity of HFMB was 67.11 mg/g for Cd(Ⅱ) and 35.59 mg/g for As(Ⅴ),which is much higher compared to pristine biochar (11.06 mg/g,0 mg/g for Cd(Ⅱ) and As(Ⅴ),respectively).The adsorption characteristics were investigated by adsorption kinetics and the effects of the ionic strength and pH of solutions.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) revealed that chelation and deposition were the adsorption mechanisms that bound Cd(Ⅱ) to HFMB,while ligand exchange was the adsorption mechanism that bound As(Ⅴ).Jianhua Guo Changzhou Yan Zhuanxi Luo Hongda Fang Shugang Hu Yinglan Cao 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,11:10

6Intercalibration of international and domestic ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar dating standards显示文摘Four international standards, Ga1550, MMhb-1, Lp-6, Bern 4M, and one domestic standard BT-1 have been intercalibrated. The repeated measurements on MMhb-1 with different mass demonstrate that MMhb-1 is inhomogeneous in age and its average age is 519.8 Ma. The results of Bern 4M and Lp-6 reflect that they have an invariable value of 40Ar*/39Ark (F) and the ages we obtained are consensus with their K-Ar age: Lp-6=127.7Ma; Bern 4M=18.2 Ma. Analyses of BT-1 age spectra, Ca/K and Cl/K spectra as well as inverse isochrons indicate that the sample is homogeneous and invariable and keeps close chemically, with its trapped argon isotope composition close to the at- mosphere. The dating results show that age values are reproducible and steady, total fusion age, step-heating age, plateau age and isochron age are in accord with each other within the error range (2σ). Therefore, we recommend 28.7 Ma as the calibrated age of BT-1. We also discuss the variation in neutron flux gradients of Beijing 49-2 reactor. It was found that the neutron flux gradient varies considerably, and more monitors (standard samples) are needed to fix the trend of variation. The coefficient of the 49-2 reactor that transfers the ratio of production rate of 37ArCa/39ArK into Ca/K ratio is 1.78. 7Study on regional material flow analysis of Chengyang District in Qingdao显示文摘Base on the framework of material flow analysis (MFA) proposed by Eurostat, this paper collected relateddata and conducted a regional MFA for the Chengyang District in Qingdao. The indicators such as Direct Material Input(DMI), Direct Material Consumption (DMC) and Exports are calculated or estimated for the period of year 1995through 2004. Several derivable indicators defining direct material productivity and material intensity are also evaluatedand some valuable conclusions were drawn. DMI in absolute number increased from about 1645.9 kilotons in 1995 toabout 8052.5 kilotons in 2004. Imports contribute to about 47 to 69% of DMI, and the biggest component of imports isfossil fuel that approximately accounts for 50% of imports. DMI per capita of Chengyang District increased rapidly andreached 17.4 tons in 2004. Compared with other five economies studied by WRI, material consumption intensity ofChengyang District is significantly lower than developed countries, which indicates that Chengyang District is still in adevelopment stage. The direct material productivity (actual GDP per DMI) increased 59.1% from 1995 to 2004 and hasbeen higher than either of studies in China, which indicates efficiency of resources utilization has improved obviously inChengyang District. But there was significant increase in material input in the last decade, which shows that rapidincrease of economy is highly dependent on requirement and consumption of natural resources. 8Laser step-heating ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar dating on young volcanic rocks显示文摘An attempt was made to use CO_2 laser step-heating method to date the late Pleistocene basaltic groundmass (DF-2) from Tengchong volcanic field. Among the fourteen heating steps, ten define a good inverse isochron (MSWD = 1.4) with an age of 32.2 ± 7.1 ka (2 σ).The inverse isochron also shows that the initial argon isotopic ratio is 297.1±2.0 (2σ) which is the same as the atmospheric argon at the 2σ error level. 9Stable isotope geochemical characteristics of dissolved inorganic carbon in the Jiulong River Estuary, Fujian Province, China显示文摘The isotopic composition of dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) in estuarine environments has been studied for its significant role in determining the isotopic composition of inorganic/organic matter and its applications to the study of various natural processes. In this paper, based on the stable isotope geochemical characteristics of dissolved inorganic carbon in the Jiulong River Estuary, the following conclusions are drawn:(1) δ13CDIC values are mainly controlled by the mixing ratio of fresh water and sea water;(2) δ13Cphytoplankton values are linearly related to the δ13CDIC values;(3) δ13CPOM values for the Jiulong River Estuary are affected by anthropogenic pollution significantly; and(4) the comprehensive analysis of δ13Cphytoplankton, δ13CPOM and δ13CDIC shows that along with increasing salinity, the proportion of POM derived from the degradation of phytoplanktons gradually increases.LIU Qiming WU Qiong CAO Yinglan LIN Jinmei JIAO Yupei 2014Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2014,33,2:2

19Increasing stiffness promotes pulmonary retention of ligand-directed dexamethasone-loaded nanoparticle for enhanced acute lung inflammation therapy显示文摘Inhaled nanoparticles(NPs)need to penetrate the bronchial mucosa to deliver drug payloads deeply in the lung for amplified local therapy.However,the bronchial mucociliary barrier eliminates NPs rapidly,which considerably limits their mucosal penetration.In this study,we find that surface ligand modification and stiffness adjustment of NPs contribute to the significantly enhanced bronchial mucosal absorption and pulmonary retention of inhaled drugs.We utilize neonatal Fc receptor ligand(FcBP)to modify the rationally designed low stiffness NPs(Soft-NP)and high stiffness NPs(Stiff-NP)to target bronchial mucosa.In an acute lung inflammation rat model,after intranasal administration with dexamethasone-loaded NPs,Stiff-NP endowed with FcBP displays superior therapeutic effects.The in vitro data demonstrate that the promotion effect of FcBP to bronchial mucosal absorption of Stiff-NP dominates over Soft-NP.This could be attributed to the higher affinity between ligand-receptor when incorporating FcBP on the Stiff-NP surface.Meanwhile,high stiffness modulates more actin filaments aggregation to mediate endocytosis,along with strengthened Ca2+signal to enhance exocytosis.Conclusively,we highlight that FcBP-modified NPs with higher stiffness would be a potential pulmonary drug delivery system.Yinglan Yu Shujie Li Yuan Yao Xinran Shen Lian Li Yuan Huang 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,2:0
