1Isolation and Identification of Cancer Stem-Like Cells from Murine Melanoma Cell Lines显示文摘In current study,cancer stem-like cells in the murine melanoma B16F10 cells were investigated.CD phenotypes of the B16F10 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry,and the specific CD phenotype cells from the B16F10 cells were isolated by MACS.Then we used colony formation assay in soft agar media,the cell growth assay in serum-free culture media as well as the tumorigenicity investigation of the specific CD phenotype cells in C57BL/6 mice, respectively,to identify cancer stem-like cells in the B16F10 cells.The results showed that the B16F10 cells could form spherical clones in serum-free culture media,and the rate of clonegenesis of CD133 + ,CD44 + and CD44 + CD133 + cells was higher than that of CD133 - ,CD44 - and CD44 + CD133 - cells in soft agar media,respectively. The tumorigenic potential of CD133 + ,CD44 + ,CD44 + CD133 + cells and CD44 + CD133 + CD24 + cells was stronger than that of CD133 - ,CD44 - ,CD44 + CD133 - cells and CD44 + CD133 + CD24 - cells in mice,respectively.In conclusion,the CD44 + CD133 + CD24 + cells have some biological properties of cancer stem-like cells or are highly similar to the characteristics of cancer stem cells(CSC).These results provide an important method for identifying cancer stem-like cells in B16F10 cells and for further cancer target therapy.Jun Dou Meng Pan Ping Wen Yating Li Quan Tang Lili Chu Fengshu Zhao Chuilian Jiang Weihua Hu Kai Hu Ning Gu 2007Cellular & Molecular Immunology2007,4,6:25
2All-solid-state BiVO4/ZnIn2S4 Z-scheme composite with efficient charge separations for improved visible light photocatalytic organics degradation显示文摘Constructing a Z-scheme is a significant approach to improve the separation of photogene rated carriers for effective organic pollutant degradation.Herein,a BiVO4/ZnIn2S4(BZ) Z-scheme composite was successfully synthesized,and applied to photodegrade methyl orange(MO) irradiated by a LED lamp.Anchoring the BiVO4 on the ZnIn2S4 nanoparticles promoted the separation of photogenerated electronholes and broadened the light response range.The detailed characterizations,including surface morphology,elements valence state,and photocurrent performance,demonstrated that the enhanced separation of photogenerated carriers was the pivotal reason for the enhanced photocatalysis reaction.Benefiting from the excellent photocatalytic characteristics,the 5% mass ratio of BZ composite presented the highest MO degradation rate of 0.00997 min^-1,which was 1.9 and 10.3 times greater than the virgin ZnIn2S4 and BiVO4,respectively.Furthermore,the BZ hybrid materials indicated a well photo-stability in the four recycling tests.Deling Yuan Mengting Sun Shoufeng Tang Yating Zhang Zetao Wang Jinbang Qi Yandi Rao Qingrui Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2:5
3Terahertz wavefront shaping with multi-channel polarization conversion based on all-dielectric metasurface显示文摘Polarization manipulation of electromagnetic wave or polarization multiplexed beam shaping based on metasurfaces has been reported in various frequency bands.However,it is difficult to shape the beam with multi-channel polarization conversion in a single metasurface.Here,we propose a new method for terahertz wavefront shaping with multi-channel polarization conversion via all-silicon metasurface,which is based on the linear shape birefringence effect in spatially interleaved anisotropic meta-atoms.By superimposing the eigen-and non-eigen-polarization responses of the two kinds of meta-atoms,we demonstrate the possibility for high-efficiency evolution of several typical polarization states with two independent channels for linearly polarized waves.The measured polarization conversion efficiency is higher than 70%in the range of 0.9–1.3 THz,with a peak value of 89.2%at 1.1 THz.In addition,when more other polarization states are incident,combined with the integration of sub-arrays,we can get more channels for both polarization conversion and beam shaping.Simulated and experimental results verify the feasibility of this method.The proposed method provides a new idea for the design of terahertz multi-functional metadevices.JIE LI CHENGLONG ZHENG JITAO LI GUOCUI WANG JINGYU LIU ZHEN YUE XUANRUO HAO YUE YANG FUYU LI TINGTING TANG YATING ZHANG YAN ZHANG JIANQUAN YAO 2021Photonics Research2021,9,10:5
4Direct site-specific treatment of skin cancer using doxorubicin-loaded nanofibrous membranes显示文摘Doxorubicin(DOX) is widely used in cancer therapy. However, its application is sometimes limited by its adverse cardiotoxicity and delivery pathways. In our study, we prepared a topical implantable delivery device for controlled drug release and site-specific treatment. The core region consisted of poly(lactic co-glycolic acid) and poly-caprolactone, whereas the shell region was composed of cross-linked gelatin.DOX was enclosed in the core region of a core-shell nanofiber obtained by electrospinning. This implantable delivery device was implanted on the top of the melanoma in a mouse model, which had shown a DOX-controlled release profile with sustained and sufficient local concentration against melanoma growth in mice with negligible side effects. Compared with the traditional intravenous administration,the implantable device allows precisely localized treatment and therefore can reduce the dose, decrease the injection frequency, and ensure antitumor efficacy associated with lower side effects to normal tissues. 5Placement of dual capsular tension rings for the combined management of traumatic cyclodialysis cleft and zonular dialysis显示文摘Background:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of placing dual capsular tension rings for the combined management of traumatic cyclodialysis cleft and zonular dialysis.Methods:A modified capsular tension ring was inserted into the ciliary sulcus and a capsular tension ring or modified capsular tension ring was inserted into the capsular bag in 20 eyes in 20 consecutive patients showing signs of ocular hypotony and ectopia lentis.Outcome measures included intraocular pressure,best-corrected visual acuity,and postoperative complications.Results:Dual capsular tension ring placement was performed in 20 patients with a mean age of 48.7 years.The cyclodialysis cleft extended over 2.9 clock hours(range 0.5-6.5).The modified capsular tension ring was successfully inserted into the ciliary sulcus and a capsular tension ring or modified capsular tension ring in the capsular bag in all eyes.At the last follow-up,the cyclodialysis cleft was closed in 16/20(80.0%)eyes.The intraocular lens was stable in all patients postoperatively.Best-corrected visual acuity,in terms of the logarithm of the minimal angle of resolution,improved from 1.3±0.8 before surgery to 0.4±0.3 after surgery(P<0.001).Intraocular pressure increased significantly from 10.6±3.2 mmHg before surgery to 13.0±4.8 mmHg after surgery(P=0.040).Postoperative complications included a painful reversible intraocular pressure spike in four patients(20.0%).Logistic regression revealed no significant factors associated with successful cleft closure and a stable final intraocular pressure of≥10 mmHg.Conclusions:The placement of two capsular tension rings into the ciliary sulcus and the capsular bag is a safe,successful procedure combined for repairing a traumatic cyclodialysis cleft and managing zonular dialysis.Jiahui Chen Lina Lan Yating Tang Yi Lu Yongxiang Jiang 2020Eye and Vision2020,7,1:1

7Investigating the Changes in Air Pollutant Emissions over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region in February from 2014 to 2019 through an Inverse Emission Method显示文摘In recent years,China has implemented several measures to improve air quality.The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region is one area that has suffered from the most serious air pollution in China and has undergone huge changes in air quality in the past few years.How to scientifically assess these change processes remain the key issue in further improving the air quality over this region in the future.To evaluate the changes in major air pollutant emissions over this region,this paper employs ensemble Kalman filtering(EnKF)for integrating the national ground monitoring pollutant observation data and the Nested Air Quality Prediction Modeling System(NAQPMS)simulation data to inversely estimate the emission rates of SO_(2),NOX,CO,and primary PM_(2.5)over BTH region in February from 2014 to 2019.The results show that SO_(2),NOX,CO,and primary PM_(2.5)emissions in the BTH region decreased in February from 2014 to 2019 by 83%,37%,41%,and 42%,while decreases in Beijing during this period were 86%,67%,59%,and 65%,respectively.Compared with the prior emission inventory,the inversion emission inventory reduces the uncertainty of multi-pollutant simulation in the BTH region,with simulated root mean square errors of the monthly average concentrations of SO_(2),NOX,PM_(2.5),and CO reduced by 41%,30%,31%,and 22%,respectively.The average uncertainties of SO_(2),NOX,PM_(2.5),and CO inversion emissions in2014-19 are±14.03%yr^(-1),±28.91%yr^(-1),±126.15%yr^(-1),and±43.58%yr^(-1).Compared with the uncertainty of MEIC emission,the uncertainties of all species changed by+2%yr^(-1),-2%yr^(-1),-26%yr^(-1),and-4%yr^(-1),respectively.The spatial distribution results illustrate that air pollutant emissions are mainly distributed over the eastern and southern BTH regions.The spatial gap between the inversion emissions and MEIC emissions was further closed in 2019 compared to 2014.The results of this paper can provide a new reference for assessing changes in air pollution emissions over the BTH region in recent years and validating a bottom-up emission inventory.Xuechun LUO Xiao TANG Haoyue WANG Lei KONG Huangjian WU Weiguo WANG Yating SONG Hongyan LUO Yao WANG Jiang ZHU Zifa WANG 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,4:1

9Broadband and tunable terahertz absorption via photogenerated carriers in undoped silicon显示文摘Terahertz absorbers based on doped silicon have achieved broadband and high-efficiency absorption due to their high concentration of carriers.However,their tunable performance is obviously insufficient.Here,we propose a new scheme for active terahertz absorption based on undoped silicon with a metamaterial antireflection layer,which realizes both strong absorption and ultrahigh modulation depth.Benefiting from the weak absorption and high transmission of undoped silicon for 1064-nm continuous wave,uniformly distributed carriers across the entire thickness of the absorber are excited,and efficient free carrier absorption of the terahertz wave is obtained.We use only a 500-μm thick absorber and achieve absorption greater than 90%in the range of 0.58 to 1.92 THz,with a peak value of 99%.More important,the absorber can be switched between two working states of nonabsorption and high-efficiency absorption by changing the pump power,which means the modulation depth reaches 100%.This simple and high-performance implementation scheme provides a new idea for the design of terahertz tunable absorbers.Jie Li Jitao Li Chenglong Zheng Longhai Liu Zhen Yue Hang Xu Xuanruo Hao Fuyu Li Tingting Tang Yating Zhang Jianquan Yao 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,1:1
10Environment-friendly antisolvent tert-amyl alcohol modified hybrid perovskite photodetector with high responsivity显示文摘The preparation of high-quality perovskite films with optimal morphologies is important for achieving highperformance perovskite photodetectors(PPDs). An effective strategy to optimize the morphologies is to add antisolvents during the spin-coating steps. In this work, a novel environment-friendly antisolvent tert-amyl alcohol(TAA) is employed first to improve the quality of perovskite films, which can effectively regulate the formation of an intermediate phase staged in between a liquid precursor phase and a solid perovskite phase due to its moderate polarity and further promote the homogeneous nucleation and crystal growth, thus leading to the formation of high-quality perovskite films and enhanced photodetector performance. As a result, the responsivity of the PPD reaches 1.56 A/W under the illumination of 532 nm laser with the power density of 6.37 μW=cm^(2) at a bias voltage of -2 V, which is good responsivity for PPDs with the vertical structure and only CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3) perovskite as the photosensitive material. The corresponding detectivity reaches 1.47×10^(12) Jones, while the linear dynamic range reaches 110 dB. 11The Impact of the Numbers of Monitoring Stations on the National and Regional Air Quality Assessment in China During 2013-18显示文摘China national air quality monitoring network has become the core data source for air quality assessment and management in China.However,during network construction,the significant change in numbers of monitoring sites with time is easily ignored,which brings uncertainty to air quality assessments.This study aims to analyze the impact of change in numbers of stations on national and regional air quality assessments in China during 2013-18.The results indicate that the change in numbers of stations has different impacts on fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))and ozone concentration assessments.The increasing number of sites makes the estimated national and regional PM_(2.5) concentration slightly lower by 0.6−2.2μg m^(−3) and 1.4−6.0μg m^(−3) respectively from 2013 to 2018.The main reason is that over time,the monitoring network expands from the urban centers to the suburban areas with low population densities and pollutant emissions.For ozone,the increasing number of stations affects the long-term trends of the estimated concentration,especially the national trends,which changed from a slight upward trend to a downward trend in 2014−15.Besides,the impact of the increasing number of sites on ozone assessment exhibits a seasonal difference at the 0.05 significance level in that the added sites make the estimated concentration higher in winter and lower in summer.These results suggest that the change in numbers of monitoring sites is an important uncertainty factor in national and regional air quality assessments,that needs to be considered in long-term concentration assessment,trend analysis,and trend driving force analysis.Hongyan LUO Xiao TANG Huangjian WU Lei KONG Qian WU Kai CAO Yating SONG Xuechun LUO Yao WANG Jiang ZHU Zifa WANG 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,10:1
12minimal genome design to maximally guarantee fertile inter-subspecific hybrid rice显示文摘Hybrid rice has made considerable contributions to achieve the ambitious goal of food security for the world's population.Hybrid rice from indica/xian and japonica/geng subspecies shows much higher heter-osis and is thereby an important innovation in promoting rice production in the next decade.However,such inter-subspecific hybrid rice has long suffered from serious hybrid sterility,which is a major challenge that needs to be addressed.In this study,we performed a genome design strategy to produce fertile inter-subspecific hybrid by creation of wide compatibility varieties that are able to overcome hybrid sterility.Based on combined genetic analyses in two indica-japonica crosses,we determined that four hybrid ste-rility loci,S5,f5,pf12 and Sc,are the major QTLs controlling inter-subspecific hybrid sterility and thus the minimal targets that can be manipulated for breeding sub-specific hybrid rice.We then cloned the pf12 lo-cus,one of the most effective loci for hybrid male sterility,by map-based cloning,and showed that artificial disruption of pf12A gene at this locus could successfully rescue hybrid fertility.We further dissected the genetic basis of wide compatibility using three pairwise crosses from a wide-compatibility variety Dular and representative indica and japonica varieties.On this basis,we constructed and assembled different combinations of naturally compatible alleles of four loci,S5,Sc,pf12,and f5,and found that the improved lines could fully recover pollen and embryo sac fertility in test-crossed F,s,thereby completely fulfilling the demands of inter-subspecific hybrid spikelet fertility in agricultural production.This breeding scheme would facilitate redesign of future inter-subspecific hybrid rice with a higher yield potential.Penghui Zhou Zhengji Wang Xingchen Zhu Yao Tang Liang Ye Huihui Yu Yating Li Ningke Zhang Ting Liu Tian Wang Yuying Wu Dengyun Cao Yuan Chen Xu Li Qinglu Zhang Jinghua Xiao Sibin Yu Qifa Zhang Jiaming Mi Yidan Ouyang 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,4:0
13Preoperative Characteristics of Ocular Biometry in Children with Unilateral Congenital Cataracts显示文摘The ocular biometry characteristics are clinically significant for children with unilateral congenital cataracts,but there is a lack of data analysis concerning the preoperative measurements.The axial length(AL),mean keratometry(Km),cor-neal astigmatism(CA),and the anterior chamber depth(ACD)from both eyes before cataract surgery were obtained from 205 patients(410 eyes,3-15 years of age)with unilateral congenital cataracts.In the congenital cataract eyes,shorter AL(22.44±1.52 mm vs.22.57±1.04 mm,p=0.036)and higher CA(-1.89±0.91 D vs.-1.24±0.67 D,p<0.001)were found,and no significant difference was found in the Km and the ACD measurements compared to the contralateral normal eyes.Females had shorter AL and shallower ACD compared to males.However,the Km and CA in the females were significantly larger than that in males.Shorter AL,larger Km,higher CA,and shallower ACD were also found in females who had a binocular axial difference(the value obtained by subtraction of the contralateral normal eye from the congenital cataract eye)that less than zero.The preoperative ocular biometry of shorter AL,larger Km,higher CA,and shallower ACD should be considered in females with unilateral congenital cataracts.The age and the binocular axial differences had a statistically significant correlation(r=-0.192,p=0.006).Therefore,changes in the binocular axial differences associated with aging may enhance the guidelines for intraocular lens selection and the management of congenital cataracts.Jiahui Chen Yating Tang Yongxiang Jiang Yi Lu 2022Phenomics2022,2,2:0

15A Genome‑Wide Association Study for Susceptibility to Axial Length in Highly Myopic Eyes显示文摘High myopia has long been highly prevalent worldwide with a largely yet unexplained genetic contribution.To identify novel susceptibility genes for axial length(AL)in highly myopic eyes,a genome-wide association study(GWAS)was performed using the genomic dataset of 350 deep whole-genome sequencing data from highly myopic patients.Top single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were functionally annotated.Immunofluorescence staining,quantitative polymerase chain reaction,and western blot were performed using neural retina of form-deprived myopic mice.Enrichment analyses were further performed.We identified the four top SNPs and found that ADAM Metallopeptidase With Thrombospondin Type 1 Motif 16(ADAMTS16)and Phosphatidylinositol Glycan Anchor Biosynthesis Class Z(PIGZ)had the potential of clinical signifi-cance.Animal experiments confirmed that PIGZ expression could be observed and showed higher expression level in form-deprived mice,especially in the ganglion cell layer.The messenger RNA(mRNA)levels of both ADAMTS16 and PIGZ were significantly higher in the neural retina of form-deprived eyes(p=0.005 and 0.007 respectively),and both proteins showed significantly upregulated expression in the neural retina of deprived eyes(p=0.004 and 0.042,respectively).Enrichment analysis revealed a significant role of cellular adhesion and signal transduction in AL,and also several AL-related pathways including circadian entrainment and inflammatory mediator regulation of transient receptor potential channels were proposed.In conclusion,the current study identified four novel SNPs associated with AL in highly myopic eyes and confirmed that the expression of ADAMTS16 and PIGZ was significantly upregulated in neural retina of deprived eyes.Enrichment analyses provided novel insight into the etiology of high myopia and opened avenues for future research interest.Qiang Lu Yu Du Ye Zhang Yuxi Chen Hao Li Wenwen He Yating Tang Zhennan Zhao Yinglei Zhang Jihong Wu Xiangjia Zhu Yi Lu 2023Phenomics2023,3,3:0
16Sequentially releasing self-healing hydrogel fabricated with TGFβ3-microspheres and bFGF to facilitate rat alveolar bone defect repair显示文摘Resorption and loss of alveolar bone leads to oral dysfunction and loss of natural or implant teeth. Biomimetic delivery of growth factors based on stem cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, as the key steps in natural alveolar bone regenerative process, has been an area of intense research in recent years. A mesoporous self-healing hydrogel(DFH) with basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) entrapment and transforming growth factor β3(TGFβ3)-loaded chitosan microspheres(CMs) was developed. The formulation was optimized by multiple tests of self-healing, in-bottle inversion, SEM, rheological, swelling rate and in vitro degradation. In vitro tubule formation assays, cell migration assays, and osteogenic differentiation assays confirmed the ability of DFH to promote blood vessels, recruit stem cells, and promote osteogenic differentiation. The optimum DFH formula is 0.05 ml 4ArmPEG-DF(20%) added to 1 ml CsGlu(2%) containing bFGF(80 ng) and TGFβ3-microspheres(5 mg). The results of in vitro release studied by Elisa kit, indicated an 95% release of b FGF in7 d and long-term sustained release of TGFβ3. For alveolar defects rat models, the expression levels of CD29 and CD45, the bone volume fraction, trabecular number, and trabecular thickness of new bone monitored by Micro-CT in DFH treatment groups were significantly higher than others(*P < 0.05, vs Model). HE and Masson staining show the same results.In conclusion, DFH is a design of bionic alveolar remodelling microenvironment, that is in early time microvessels formed by b FGF provide nutritious to recruited endogenous stem cells, then TGFβ3 slowly released speed up the process of new bones formation to common facilitate rat alveolar defect repair. 17Three Novel Mutations of Microphthalmos Identified in Two Chinese Families显示文摘Genetic alterations are a major cause of microphthalmos,while novel-related genes and mutations in microphthalmos have rarely been explored.To identify the underlying genetic defect responsible for microphthalmos eyes in two three-generation Chinese families,we screened 425 genes involved in common inherited non-syndromic eye diseases with next-generation sequencing-based target capture sequencing of the two probands of two three-generation Chinese families diagnosed with microphthalmos.Variants were filtered and analyzed to identify possible disease-causing variants before Sanger sequencing validation.We enrolled two families with microphthalmos(Family 1:microphthalmos with congenital ocular coloboma and Family 2:simple microphthalmos).Two novel heterozygous mutations,Peroxidasin(PXDN)c.3165C>T(p.Pro1055Pro)and PXDN c.2640C>G(p.Arg880Arg),were found in Family 1,and Crystallin Beta B2(CRYBB2)c.481G>A(p.Gly161Arg)was found in Family 2,but none of the mutations were found in the unaffected individuals,who were phenotypically nor-mal.Multiple orthologous sequence alignment(MSA)revealed that the CRYBB2 p.Gly161Arg mutation was a deleterious effect mutation.In conclusion,the three novel mutations found in our study extend our current understanding of the genetic basis of microphthalmos and provide early pre-symptomatic diagnosis and emphasize the significance of genetic diagnosis of microphthalmos.Yating Tang Jie Xu Yi Lu Tianyu Zheng 2022Phenomics2022,2,4:0
18Multi-omic analyses identify mucosa bacteria and fecal metabolites associated with weight loss after fecal microbiota transplantation显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)has shown promising results in animal models of obesity,while results in human studies are inconsistent.We aimed to determine factors associated with weight loss after FMT in nine obese subjects using serial multi-omics analysis of the fecal and mucosal microbiome.The mucosal microbiome,fecal microbiome,and fecal metabolome showed individual clustering in each subject after FMT.The colonic microbiome in patients showed more marked variance after FMT compared with the duodenal microbiome,characterized by an increased relative abundance of Bacteroides.Subjects who lost weight after FMT sustained enrichment of Bifidobacterium bifidum and Alistipes onderdonkii in the duodenal,colonic mucosal,and fecal microbiome and increased levels of phosphopantothenate biosynthesis and fecal metabolite eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA),compared with those without weight loss.Fecal levels of amino acid metabolism-associated were positively correlated with the fecal abundance of B.bifidum,and fatty acid metabolism-associated metabolites showed positive correlations with A.onderdonkii.Fen Zhang Tao Zuo Yating Wan Zhilu Xu Chunpan Cheung Amy YLi Wenyi Zhu Whitney Tang Paul K.S.Chan Francis K.L.Chan Siew C.Ng 2022The Innovation2022,3,5:0
19Experimental Investigation on Local Behaviors of PEMFC with Segmented Cell显示文摘When designing a cell stack and developing an operational strategy for proton exchange membrane fuel cell,it is critical to characterize the local current,water and heat.To measure distributions of current density,relative humidity and temperature for both anode and cathode simultaneously along the straight parallel flow channels,this paper uses a segmented tool based on the multilayered printed circuit board flow field plates with embedded sensors.In this study,two kinds of experimental operations of fuel cell reactants are carried out for comparison:the co-flow operation with identical gas flow direction of hydrogen and air and the counter-flow operation with opposite gas flow directions.The detected relative humidity(RH)distributions of both anode and cathode indicate that the asymmetry of RH distribution at two sides of the membrane in counter-flow operation is better at holding water inside the fuel cell compared with the co-flow operation.The in situ measured performance distributions show that segments around the middle of the fuel cell contribute the highest current in counter-flow operation,while for co-flow operation,the current peak locates near the outlet of reactants.Cong Yin Yan Gao Kai Li Yating Song Hao Tang 2021Automotive Innovation2021,4,2:0
20The evolution of central environmental protection inspection policy attention in China: An investigation based on inspection reports显示文摘The central environmental protection inspection (CEPI) system in China is a significant institutional innova‐tion in national environmental governance. The CEPI applies a joint supervision strategy to address salient en‐vironmental issues and strictly enforce the environmental responsibilities of local governments. This study col‐lects and organizes CEPI inspection reports covering three stages that encompass the first round, the “look back”, and the second round, applying text analysis to obtain sample data and conduct statistical quantifica‐tion of word frequency in inspection reports and identify notable changes. The study explores the allocation of CEPI attention between policy objectives and the intensity of policy instruments. We determine that in con‐junction with public opinion feedback, the CEPI conducts targeted inspections and focuses more on pollutant governance, which has high severity and can be addressed quickly. The CEPI fills the gap of normalized gover‐nance with a campaign-style governance approach. Regarding the intensity of policy measures, the CEPI pri‐marily uses economic incentive policy instruments, supplemented by command-and-control and public guid‐ance approaches, advancing the sustainability of regulatory effectiveness through economic, social, and politi‐cal activities.
