| 1 | Gut microbes in cardiovascular diseases and their potential therapeutic applications显示文摘Microbial ecosystem comprises a complex community in which bacteria interact with each other. The potential roles of the intestinal microbiome play in human health have gained considerable attention. The imbalance of gut microbial community has been looked to multiple chronic diseases. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are leading causes of morbidity worldwide and are influenced by genetic and environmental factors. Recent advances have provided scientific evidence that CVD may also be attributed to gut microbiome. In this review, we highlight the complex interplay between microbes, their metabolites, and the potential influence on the generation and development of CVDs. The therapeutic potential of using intestinal microbiomes to treat CVD is also discussed. | 2 | FAULT DIAGNOSIS APPROACH FOR ROLLER BEARINGS BASED ON EMPIRICAL MODE DECOMPOSITION METHOD AND HILBERT TRANSFORM显示文摘Based upon empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method and Hilbert spectrum, a method for fault diagnosis of roller bearing is proposed. The orthogonal wavelet bases are used to translate vibration signals of a roller bearing into time-scale representation, then, an envelope signal can be obtained by envelope spectrum analysis of wavelet coefficients of high scales. By applying EMD method and Hilbert transform to the envelope signal, we can get the local Hilbert marginal spectrum from which the faults in a roller bearing can be diagnosed and fault patterns can be identified. Practical vibration signals measured from roller bearings with out-race faults or inner-race faults are analyzed by the proposed method. | 4 | Evidence of compliance with and effectiveness of guidelines for noninvasive prenatal testing in China:a retrospective study of 189,809 cases显示文摘In China,the medical guidelines recommend performing noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT)with caution for pregnant women aged 35 years or older.However,the Mother and Child Health Care Law suggests that all primiparous women whose age is older than 35 years undergo prenatal diagnosis.These two inconsistent suggestions/recommendations have made obstetricians confused about whether to offer NIPT to these older pregnant women.To face this issue and find out the solution we performed a retrospective study of 189,809 NIPT samples collected from 28 provincial-leveled administrative units in China.Of 1,564 women with high-risk pregnancies who underwent NIPT,459(29.3%)did not participate in follow-up.The compound sensitivity and specificity of NIPT for trisomies 21,18 and 13 detection was 99.1%(95%CI,98.0%–99.6%)and 99.9%(95%CI,98.8%–99.9%),respectively.In secundiparous women,NIPT showed high sensitivity and specificity similar to that in primiparous women.The observed risk for trisomies 21 and 18 significantly increased when the maternal age was 39 and older.After the publication of the current NIPT policy,the follow-up rate at our center was 97.9%;however,a large number of women are not in maternal and infant care networks nationwide,and that makes the follow-up rate outside our center relatively low.Our study shows that to balance the prevention of major aneuploidies and the limited resources for prenatal diagnosis,the cut-off age of 35 for invasive prenatal diagnosis might be unnecessary.Although the NIPT guidelines are well written,how to practice it effectively,especially in less industrialized areas,is worth discussing. | Chan Tian Tao Deng Xiuhuang Zhu Chen Gong Yangyu Zhao Yuan Wei Rong Li Xiufeng Xu Miaonan He Zhiwei Zhang Jing Cheng Mol BenWillem Jie Qiao | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3: | 10 |
| 5 | APPLICATION OF GENETIC DEAFNESS GENE CHIP FOR DETECTION OF GENE MUTATION OF DEAFNESS IN PREGNANT WOMEN显示文摘Objective The study is to identify the carrier rate of common deafness mutation in Chinese pregnant women via detecting deafness gene mutations with gene chip.Methods The pregnant women in obstetric clinic without hearing impairment and hearing disorders family history were selected.The informed consent was signed.Peripheral blood was taken to extract genomic DNA.Application of genetic deafness gene chip for detecting 9 mutational hot spot of the most common 4 Chinese deafness genes,namely GJB2(35delG,176del16bp,235delC,299delAT),GJB3(C538T),SLC26A4(IVS72A>G,A2168G)and mitochondrial DNA 12S rRNA(A1555G,C1494T).Further genetic testing were provided to the spouses and newborns of the screened carriers.Results Peripheral blood of 430 pregnant women were detected,detection of deafness gene mutation carriers in 24 cases(4.2%),including 13 cases of the GJB2 heterozygous mutation,3 cases of SLC26A4 heterozygous mutation,1cases of GJB3 heterozygous mutation,and 1 case of mitochondrial 12S rRNA mutation.18 spouses and 17 newborns took further genetic tests,and 6 newborns inherited the mutation from their mother.Conclusion The common deafness genes mutation has a high carrier rate in pregnant women group,235delC and IVS7-2A>G heterozygous mutations are common. | CHANG Liang ZHONG Su ZHAO Nan LIU Ping ZHAO Yangyu QIAO Jie | 2014 | Journal of Otology2014,9,2: | 8 |

| 7 | Adapt Bagging to Nearest Neighbor Classifiers显示文摘It is well-known that in order to build a strong ensemble, the component learners should be with high diversity as well as high accuracy. If perturbing the training set can cause significant changes in the component learners constructed, then Bagging can effectively improve accuracy. However, for stable learners such as nearest neighbor classifiers, perturbing the training set can hardly produce diverse component learners, therefore Bagging does not work well. This paper adapts Bagging to nearest neighbor classifiers through injecting randomness to distance metrics. In constructing the component learners, both the training set and the distance metric employed for identifying the neighbors are perturbed. | 8 | Study of Calcitonin and Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide in Patients with Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE To provide a basis for treatment and prognosis for MTC patients by investigating CT and CGRP.METHODS Fifty-eight cases of MTC were selected and the relationship between the CT levels and metastasis was investigated. An immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of CT and CGRP in the 58 samples of MTC tissues. The CT and CGRP of new MTC inpatients were measured before operation and in the first few days after operation using a radioimmunoassy.RESULTS 1) The metastatic rate of cervical lymph nodes was a significantly different between the normal serum CT group and the elevated group (P<0.01). 2) The rate of residual tumor was significantly different between the normal serum CT group one month after operation and the elevated group at the same period (P<0.01). 3) In the immunohistochemical study we found the positive rate of CT was about 98%, and the CGRP was 87.8%. 4) Part of the patients had an elevated CGRP level while CT levels were normal. 5) The serum CT levels dropped to a stable range one week after operation.CONCLUSION The CT levels are a useful index to evaluate the probability of cervical lymph node metastasis and the efficacy of surgical treatment.Measurement of the serum CGRP is an aid for the diagnosis of MTC,especially for those patients whose preoperative CT levels are normal. | MingGao YangYu ShulingLi BenyiXu BaocunSun JingzuLiu | 2005 | Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2005,2,1: | 6 |
| 9 | A Method for Gear Fault Diagnosis Based on the Empirical Mode Decomposition显示文摘According to the characteristics of gea r fault vibration signals, a method for gear fault diagnosis based upon the empiri cal mode decomposition (EMD) is proposed in this paper. By using EMD, any compli cated signal can be decomposed into a finite and often small number of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), which are based upon the local characteristic time scale of the signal. Thus, EMD is perfectly suitable for non-stationary signal proce ssing and fault characteristics extracting. It is well known that a gear vibrati on signal consists of a number of frequency family components, each of which is a modulated signal. Thus, we can use EMD to decompose a gear fault vibration sig nal into a number of IMF components, some of which correspond to the frequency f amilies, and the others are noises. Therefore, the frequency families can be sep arated and the noise can be decreased at the same time. The proposed method has been applied to gear fault diagnosis. | 10 | The vicK gene of Streptococcus mutans mediates its cariogenicity via exopolysaccharides metabolism显示文摘Streptococcus mutans(S.mutans)is generally regarded as a major contributor to dental caries because of its ability to synthesize extracellular polysaccharides(EPS)that aid in the formation of plaque biofilm.The VicRKX system of S.mutans plays an important role in biofilm formation.The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of vicK gene on specific characteristics of EPS in S.mutans biofilm.We constructed single-species biofilms formed by different mutants of vicK gene.Production and distribution of EPS were detected through atomic force microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy.Microcosmic structures of EPS were analyzed by gel permeation chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.Cariogenicity of the vicK mutant was assessed in a specific pathogen-free rat model.Transcriptional levels of cariogenicityassociated genes were confirmed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.The results showed that deletion of vicK gene suppressed biofilm formation as well as EPS production,and EPS were synthesized mostly around the cells.Molecular weight and monosaccharide components underwent evident alterations.Biofilms formed in vivo were sparse and contributed a decreased degree of caries.Moreover,expressional levels of genes related to EPS synthesis were down-regulated,except for gtfB.Our report demonstrates that vicK gene enhances biofilm formation and subsequent caries development.And this may due to its regulations on EPS metabolism,like synthesis or microcosmic features of EPS.This study suggests that vicK gene and EPS can be considered as promising targets to modulate dental caries. | Yalan Deng Yingming Yang Bin Zhang Hong Chen Yangyu Lu Shirui Ren Lei Lei Tao Hu | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,4: | 2 |
| 11 | Which is the determinant for cellulose degradation in cooperative ionic liquid pairs: dissolution or catalysis?显示文摘Catalytic conversion of sustainable cellulose to the value-added chemicals and high quality biofuel has been recognized as a perfect approach for the alleviation of the dependence on the non-renewable fossil resources. Previously, we successfully designed and explored novel and efficient cooperative ionic liquid pairs for this renewable material, which has advantages of high reactor efficiency than current technologies because of the dissolution and in situ catalytic decomposition mechanism. Here, the determinant of this process is further studied by the intensive investigation on the relationship between the cellulose conversion and the properties of ionic liquid catalyst and solvent. Scanning electron microscope(SEM), thermogravimetric analysis(TG) and elemental analysis were used for the comparative characterization of raw cellulose and the residues.
