Magnetically treated water irrigation effect on turnip seed germination, seedling growth and enzymatic activities显示文摘Pre-sowing magnetic field seed treatment effects on biological characteristics of vegetables and crops have been studied well. However, studies reporting irrigation with magnetically treated water are scanty. Therefore, the effect of irrigation with magnetically treated water on turnip seed germination, seedling growth and enzymatic activities was evaluated. The tap water was treated at 211 mT for 30,45 and 60 min and used for irrigation of turnip seed and seedlings.Uniform and healthy turnip seed was sown under randomized complete block design(RCBD).The germination, emergence rate index, vigor index I and vigor index II increased up to 28.33%,11.54%,57.59%and 32.26%,respectively.The growth parameters such as seedling lengths, fresh&dry weights, chlorophyll content were also enhanced in response of irrigation with magnetically treated water. The seedlings irrigated with magnetically treated water showed 28.92%,11.36%and 14.76%higher protein content, alpha amylase and protease activities, respectively vs control. Results revealed that irrigation with magnetically treated water has potential to improve turnip germination, seedling growth and enzymatic activities and this study is also extendable to other vegetables and crops for the improvement of germination and growth.Zia ul Haq Munawar Iqbal Yasir Jamil Hafeez Anwar Ayesha Younis Muhammad Arif M.Zeshan Fareed Fida Hussain 2016Information Processing in Agriculture2016,3,2:5
C-NOT gate based on ultracold Rydberg atom interactions显示文摘The Rydberg states of neutral atoms are strongly polarisable and possess long lifetimes because of high energies which can lead to strong and long range dipole-dipole interactions. The energy levels corresponding to these states are shifted because of dipole-dipole interactions and can be used to block transitions of more than one excitation in the Rydberg regime. This reputed Rydberg blockade is obtained when the excitation is shifted out of resonance by these interactions.Electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)is sensitive to a small detuning. At large distances,up to several micrometers, the interactions can interrupt the EIT consequence.Herein we investigate a novel scheme based on EIT and Rydberg blockade and performed a simulation of a controlled-NOT(C-NOT)quantum gate which is critical for quantum computation by using neutral atoms.RASHID Muhammad MAARTEN Hoogerland YASIR Jamil 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,11:4

Zika virus,a pathway to new challenges显示文摘The current Zika outbreak is largest of its kind with 1.4 million cases in Brazil alone.World Health Organization declared the current outbreak as the public health emergency of international concerns. The major route of Zika virus transmission is mosquito bites.Sexual transmission and monkey bites are also observed in few cases. There is dire need to evaluate the other routes of transmission like blood transfusion, lactation and contact with body fluids.Zika virus is infecting infants, not only causing microcephaly but also creating number of complications resulting in bad outcomes of pregnancy. In Brazil alone,4 000 cases of microcephaly have observed during the current outbreak. The incidence of Guillian-Barre(GB) syndrome is also observed during the current Zika virus outbreak.GB syndrome is acute medical condition leading the patients to death due to weakness of respiratory muscles or can cause the life time disability. There is no anti-viral drug or vaccine available for Zika virus.Zika infection can be prevented by using mosquito repellents, mosquito nets, cooling rooms by air conditions and wearing full sleeves or permethrin treated clothes. The current outbreak of Zika has not only affected the health care but also caused great economic loss.Estimated loss in Latin America and Caribbean is US$3.5 billion.United Nation's sustainable development goal 3.d stresses the strengthening of early warning, risk reduction and management of national and global health risks. The world will keep on facing new challenges in the form of Ebola or Zika;there is strong need to prepare ourselves for any disease outbreak.Zubia Jamil Yasir Waheed Taimoor Zeb Durrani 2016Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2016,9,7:1
Clinical outcomes of moderate to severe COVID-19 patients receiving invasive vs. non-invasive ventilation显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the in-hospital outcome of moderate to severe COVID-19 patients admitted in High Dependency Unit(HDU)in relation to invasive vs.non-invasive mode of ventilation. Methods:In this study, the patients required either non-invasive[oxygen≤10 L/min or>10 L/min through mask or nasal prongs, rebreather masks and bilevel positive airway pressure(BiPAP)]or invasive ventilation. For analysis of 30-day in hospital mortality in relation to use of different modes of oxygen,Kaplan Meier and log rank analyses were used.In the end, independent predictors of survival were determined by Cox regression analysis. Results:Invasive ventilation was required by 15.1%patients while 84.9%patients needed non-invasive ventilation.Patients with evidence of thromboembolism, high inflammatory markers and hypoxemia mainly required invasive ventilation. The 30-day in hospital mortality was 72.7%for the invasive group and 12.9%for the non-invasive group(1.8%oxygen<10 L/min,0.9%oxygen>10 L/min,3.6%rebreather mask and 4.5%BiPAP).The median time from hospital admission to outcome was 7 days for the invasive group and 18 days for the non-invasive group(P<0.05).Age,presence of co-morbidities,number of days requiring oxygen, rebreather,BiPAP and invasive ventilation were independent predictors of outcome. Conclusions:Invasive mechanical ventilation is associated with adverse outcomes possibly due to ventilator associated lung injury. Thus, protective non-invasive ventilation remains the necessary and safe treatment for severely hypoxic COVID-19 patients.Zubia Jamil Samreen Khalid Shahid Mumtaz Abbasi Yasir Waheed Jamal Ahmed 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,4:1

Optimized Predictive Framework for Healthcare Through Deep Learning显示文摘Smart healthcare integrates an advanced wave of information technology using smart devices to collect health-related medical science data.Such data usually exist in unstructured, noisy, incomplete, and heterogeneous forms.Annotating these limitations remains an open challenge in deep learning to classify health conditions. In this paper,a long short-term memory(LSTM)based health condition prediction framework is proposed to rectify imbalanced and noisy data and transform it into a useful form to predict accurate health conditions. The imbalanced and scarce data is normalized through coding to gain consistency for accurate results using synthetic minority oversampling technique. The proposed model is optimized and ne-tuned in an end to end manner to select ideal parameters using tree parzen estimator to build a probabilistic model. The patient’s medication is pigeonholed to plot the diabetic condition’s risk factor through an algorithm to classify blood glucose metrics using a modern surveillance error grid method. The proposed model can efciently train, validate, and test noisy data by obtaining consistent results around 90%over the state of the art machine and deep learning techniques and overcoming the insufciency in training data through transfer learning. The overall results of the proposed model are further tested with secondary datasets to verify model sustainability.Yasir Shahzad Huma Javed Haleem Farman Jamil Ahmad Bilal Jan Abdelmohsen A.Nassani 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,5:0
EfficientNet-Based Robust Recognition of Peach Plant Diseases in Field Images显示文摘Plant diseases are a major cause of degraded fruit quality andyield losses. These losses can be significantly reduced with early detection ofdiseases to ensure their timely treatment, particularly in developing countries. In this regard, an expert system based on deep learning model where the expertknowledge, particularly the one acquired by plant pathologist, is recursivelylearned by the system and is applied using a smart phone application for use inthe target field environment, is being proposed. In this paper, a robust diseasedetection method is developed based on convolutional neural network (CNN),where its powerful features extraction capabilities are leveraged to detectdiseases in images of fruits and leaves. The features extraction pipelines ofseveral state-of-the-art pretrained networks are fine-tuned to achieve optimaldetection performance. A novel dataset is collected from peach orchards andextensively augmented using both label-preserving and non-label-preservingtransformations. The augmented dataset is used to study the effects of finetuning the pretrained networks’ feature extraction pipeline as opposed tokeeping the network parameters unchanged. The CNN models, particularlyEfficientNet exhibited superior performance on the target dataset once theirfeature extraction pipelines are fine-tuned. The optimal model is able toachieve 96.6% average accuracy, 90% sensitivity and precision, and 98%specificity on the test set of images.Haleem Farman Jamil Ahmad Bilal Jan Yasir Shahzad Muhammad Abdullah Atta Ullah 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,4:0
Hepatitis elimination by 2030: Progress and challenges显示文摘Globally, over 300 million people are living with viral hepatitis with approximately 1.3 million deaths per year. In 2016, World Health Assembly adopted the Global Health Sector Strategy on viral hepatitis to eliminate hepatitis by 2030. Different World Health Organization member countries are working on hepatitis control strategies to achieve hepatitis elimination. So far, only 12 countries are on track to achieve hepatitis elimination targets. The aim of the study was to give an update about the progress and challenges to achieving hepatitis elimination by 2030. According to the latest data, 87% of infants had received the three doses of hepatitis B virus(HBV) vaccination in the first year of their life and 46% of infants had received a timely birth dose of HBV vaccination. There is a strong need to improve blood and injection safety. Rates of hepatitis B and C diagnosis are very low and only 11% of hepatitis B and C cases are diagnosed. There is a dire need to speed up hepatitis diagnosis and find the missing millions of people living with viral hepatitis. Up to 2016, only 3 million hepatitis C cases have been treated. Pricing of hepatitis C virus drugs is also reduced in many countries. The major hurdle to achieve hepatitis elimination is lack of finances to support hepatitis programs. None of the major global donors are committed to invest in the fight against hepatitis. It will be very difficult for the low and middle-income countries to fund their hepatitis control program. Hepatitis elimination needs strong financial and political commitment, support from civil societies, and support from pharmaceutical and medical companies around the globe.Yasir Waheed Masood Siddiq Zubia Jamil Muzammil Hasan Najmi 2018World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,44:0
Entropies of the Y-Junction Type Nanostructures显示文摘Recent research on nanostructures has demonstrated their importance and application in a variety of fields.Nanostructures are used directly or indirectly in drug delivery systems, medicine and pharmaceuticals, biological sensors, photodetectors, transistors, optical and electronic devices, and so on.The discovery of carbon nanotubes with Y-shaped junctions is motivated by the development of future advanced electronic devices.Because of their interactionwithY-junctions,electronic switches, amplifiers, and three-terminal transistors are of particular interest.Entropy is a concept that determines the uncertainty of a system or network.Entropy concepts are also used in biology, chemistry, and applied mathematics.Based on the requirements, entropy in the form of a graph can be classified into several types. In 1955,graph-based entropy was introduced. One of the types of entropy is edgeweighted entropy. We examined the abstract form of Y-shaped junctions in this study. Some edge-weight-based entropy formulas for the generic view of Y-shaped junctions were created, and some edge-weighted and topological index-based concepts for Y-shaped junctions were discussed in the present paper.Ricai Luo Aisha Javed Muhammad Azeem Muhammad Kamran Jamil Hassan Raza Muhammad Yasir Ilyas 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,6:0
