1Chemical looping combustion: A new low-dioxin energy conversion technology显示文摘Dioxin production is a worldwide concern because of its persistence and carcinogenic,teratogenic, and mutagenic effects. The pyrolysis-chemical looping combustion process of disposing solid waste is an alternative to traditional solid waste incineration developed to reduce the dioxin production. Based on the equilibrium composition of the Deacon reaction,pyrolysis gas oxidized by seven common oxygen carriers, namely, Cu O, Ni O, Ca SO_4, Co O,Fe_2O_3, Mn_3O_4, and Fe Ti O_3, is studied and compared with the pyrolysis gas directly combusted by air. The result shows that the activity of the Deacon reaction for oxygen carriers is lower than that for air. For four typical oxygen carriers(Cu O, Ni O, Fe_2O_3, and Fe Ti O_3), the influences of temperature, pressure, gas composition, and tar on the Deacon reaction are discussed in detail. According to these simulation results, the dioxin production in China, Europe, the United States, and Japan is predicted for solid waste disposal by the pyrolysis-chemical looping combustion process. Thermodynamic analysis results in this paper show that chemical looping combustion can reduce dioxin production in the disposal of solid waste.Xiuning Hua Wei Wang 2015Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,6:5
2Effects of Rat Cytomegalovirus on the Nervous System of the Early Rat Embryo显示文摘The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of rat cytomegalovirus(RCMV) infection on the development of the nervous system in rat embryos,and to evaluate the involvement of Wnt signaling pathway key molecules and the downstream gene neurogenin 1(Ngn1) in RCMV infected neural stem cells(NSCs).Infection and control groups were established,each containing 20 pregnant Wistar rats.Rats in the infection group were inoculated with RCMV by intraperitoneal injection on the first day of pregnancy.Rat E20 embryos were taken to evaluate the teratogenic rate.NSCs were isolated from E13 embryos,and maintained in vitro.We found:1) Poor fetal development was found in the infection group with low survival and high malformation rates.2) The proliferation and differentiation of NSCs were affected.In the infection group,NSCs proliferated more slowly and had a lower neurosphere formation rate than the control.The differentiation ratio from NSCs to neurons and glial cells was significantly different from that of the control,showed by immunofluorescence staining.3) Ngn1 mRNA expression and the nuclear β-catenin protein level were significantly lower than the control on day 2 when NSCs differentiated.4) The Morris water maze test was performed on 4-week pups,and the infected rats were found worse in learning and memory ability.In a summary,RCMV infection caused abnormalities in the rat embryonic nervous system,significantly inhibited NSC proliferation and differentiation,and inhibited the expression of key molecules in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway so as to affect NSCs differentiation.This may be an important mechanism by which RCMV causes embryonic nervous system abnormalities.Xiuning Sun YingJun Guan Fengjie Li Xutong Li Xiaowen Wang Zhiyu Guan Kai Sheng Li Yu Zhijun Liu 2012Virologica Sinica2012,27,4:4

7Acid Orange 7 degradation using methane as the sole carbon source and electron donor显示文摘Azo dyes are widely applied in the textile industry but are not entirely consumed during the dyeing process and can thus be discharged to the environment in wastewater.However,azo dyes can be degraded using various electron donors,and in this paper,Acid Orange 7(AO7)degradation performance is investigated using methane(CH4)as the sole electron donor.Methane has multiple sources and is readily available and inexpensive.Experiments using ^(13)C-labeled isotopes showed that AO7 degradation was coupled with anaerobic oxidation of methane(AOM)and,subsequently,affected by the initial concentrations of AO7.Higher concentrations of AO7 could inhibit the activity of microorganisms,which was confirmed by the long-term performance of AO7 degradation,with maximum removal rates of 8.94 mg/(L·d)in a batch reactor and 280 mg/(L·d)in a hollow fiber membrane bioreactor(HfMBR).High-throughput sequencing using 16S rRNA genes showed that Candidatus Methanoperedens,affiliated to ANME-2d,dominated the microbial community in the batch reactor and HfMBR.Additionally,the relative abundance of Proteobacteria bacteria(Phenylobacterium,Pseudomonas,and Geothermobacter)improved after AO7 degradation.This outcome suggested that ANME-2d alone,or acting synergistically with partner bacteria,played a key role in the process of AO7 degradation coupled with AOM.Yanan Bai Xiuning Wang Fang Zhang Raymond Jianxiong Zeng 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,3:0
