1Preparation and coagulation efficiency of polyaluminium ferric silicate chloride composite coagulant from wastewater of high-purity graphite production显示文摘The aim of the present work was to produce a polyaluminium ferric silicate chloride (PAFSiC) coagulant from acidic and alkaline wastewater of purifying graphite by roasting, and subsequently to evaluate coagulation efficiency of the reagent by treating surface water from the Yellow River as well as municipal wastewater in comparison with the conventional coagulant polyaluminium chloride (PAC). The PAFSiC coagulant was prepared by co-polymerization. The effects of (Al+Fe)/Si molar ratio, OH/(Al+Fe) molar ratio (i.e., γ value), coagulant dosage and pH value of test suspension on the coagulation behavior of FAFSiC and the stability of the PAFSiC were also examined. Results showed that PAFSiC performed more efficiently than PAC in removing turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total phosphate (TP). The PAFSiC with a γ value of 2.0 and (Al+Fe)/Si ratio of 5 (PAFSiC 2.0/5) showed excellent coagulation effect for both turbidity and COD, while PAFSiC 1.0/5 was the best for TP. The optimum coagulation pH range of PAFSiC 2.0/5 was 5.0–9.0, slightly wider than that of PAC (6.0–8.0). 2Modulation of liver oxidant-antioxidant system by ischemic preconditioning during ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate effects of ischemic pre-conditioning on the liver endogenous oxidant-antioxidant system during ischemia/reperfusion injury.METHODS: Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham-operated (Sham), ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), ischemic pre-conditioning plus ischemia/reperfusion (IPC) groups. Serum ALT, AST and hyaluronic acid levels were assayed and pathologic alterations observed. Liver malondialdehyde (MDA) contents,endogenous antioxidant enzymes, superoxidase dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), gultathionine peroxidase (GSH-Px)activities, neutrophils accumulation marker, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities were measured respectively.RESULTS: Compared with I/R group, sinusoidal endothelial cells as well as hepatocytes damages, as assessed biochemically and histochemically, were improved significantly in IPC group; neutrophils infiltration was also markedly reduced. In IPC group, liver peroxidation, as measured by MDA contents, was significantly decreased when compared with I/R group; endogenous antioxidant enzymes, SOD, CAT and GSH-Px activities were markedly higher than that in I/R group.CONCLUSION: Ischemic pre-conditioning exerts protective effects on both hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells and hepatocytes during liver I/R injury. 4Crustal structure in Xiaojiang fault zone and its vicinity显示文摘Based on the integrative interpretation of travel-time data and amplitude information obtained from the deep seismic sounding experiment on the Chuxiong-Luoping profile,eastern Yunnan province,carried out in January of 2005,we present a 2-D P wave velocity structure along the profile. The crustal structure shows remarkable contrasts between the two sides of the Xiaojiang fault zone,although the whole profile is situated within the Yangtze platform. The average P wave velocities of the crust on the west and east sides of the fault zone are 6.21 km/s and 6.32 km/s,respectively,and the crustal thicknesses are 41 km and 45 km,respectively. These results imply that the crust to the east of the Xiaojiang fault zone presents characteristics of crustal structure in a stable platform,while the crust to the west is complicated with a lower velocity zone in middle of the upper crust. The average velocity of 6.21 km/s is lower than the global continental crustal average (6.30 km/s),indicating that the region is tectonically active. According to the lateral variation of velocity and depth of interfaces (including the Moho),it is inferred that the Xiaojiang fault zone has cut through the whole crust. 5Potent inhibition of angiogenesis and liver tumor growth by administration of an aerosol containing a transferrin-liposome-endostatin complex显示文摘AIM: To obtain an efficient delivery system for transportingendostatin gene to mouse liver tumor xenografts byadministration of aerosol.METHODS: Recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.0/endostatincontaining human endostatin gene together with signalpeptide from alkaline phosphatase were transferred intohuman umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) by transfenin(TF)-liposome-endostatin complex. Western blot was usedto detect the expression of human endostatin in transfectedHUVEC cells and its medium. After the tumor-bearing micewere administrated with TF-liposome-endostatin complex,the lung tissue was analyzed by immunohistochemicalmethod for expression of endostatin and the tumors weretreated with CD-31 antibody to detect the density ofmicrovesseles in tumor tissues. The inhibition of tumorgrowth was estimated by the weight of tumors from groupstreated with different dos es of TF-liposome-endostatincomplex. DNA fragmentation assay was used to detect theapoptosis of the cells from primary liver tumor.RESULTS: Western blot analysis and immunohistochemicalmethod confirmed the expression of endostatin proteininvitro and in vivo. After the tumor sections were treated withCD-31 antibody, the positive reaction cells appeared brownwhile the negative cells were colorless. The positively stainedarea of the TF-liposome-endostatin treated group wassignificantly smaller (P<0.01, 645.8+55.2 μm2) than that ofthe control group (1325.4+198.5 μm2). The data showed asignificant inhibition of angiogenesis. After administrationof TF-liposome-endostatin, comparing with the control groupadministrated with TF-liposome-pcDNA3.0, liver tumorgrowth in the mice treated with 50, 250 and 500 mg DNA/kg was inhibited by 36.6 %, 40.8 %, and 72.8 %, respectively(P<0.01). And a typical DNA fragmentation of apoptosis wasfound in the cells from tumor tissues of the mice treatedwith TF-liposome-endostatin but none in the control group.CONCLUSION: Endostatin gene could be efficientlytransported into the mice with TF-liposome-DNA deliverysystem by administration of aerosol. TF-liposome-mediatedendostatin gene therapy strongly inhibited angiogenesis andthe growth of mouse xenograft liver tumors. 6Retrovirus-mediated gene transfer of human endostatin inhibits growth of human liver carcinoma cells SMMC7721 in nude mice显示文摘AIM: To study the effect of human endostatin mediated by retroviral gene transfer on the growth of human hepatocarcinoma cell line SMMC7721 in nude mice. METHODS: Human endostatin gene together with rat serum albumin signal peptide was transferred into human liver carcinoma SMMC7721 cells by retroviral vector pLncx to build a stable transfectant (SMMC-endo). PCR and Western blot analysis were used to verify the transfection and secretion of human endostatin gene in SMMC7721 cells. The endothelial cell proliferation assay in vitro was conducted to test the biological activity of the expressed human endostatin.The inhibitory effect of endostatin expressed by transfected 5MMC7721 on the growth rates of tumor cells in vivo was observed. The mean microvessel density in the specimen was also counted.RESULTS: PCR amplification proved that the genome of SMMC-endo cells contained a 550bp specific fragment of endostatin gene. Western blot analysis confirmed the secretion of human endostatin gene in the conditioned medium of transfected SMMC-endo cells. The endothelial proliferation assay showed that the conditioned medium of SMMC-endo cells significantly inhibited the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells by 48 %, significantly higher than that of SMMC-pLncx (10.2 %, P<0.01). In vivo experiments revealed that only in 3 out of 5 mice tumors were formed and the mean size of flank tumors from SMMC-endo cells was 94.5 % smaller than that from the control SMMC-pLncx cells 22 days after tumor inoculation (P<0.001).The mean microvessel density in tumor samples from SMMC-endo cells was only 8.6±1.1, much fewer than that of 22.6±4.5 from SMMC-pLncx cells (P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Human endostatin mediated by retroviral gene transfer can inhibit human liver carcinoma cell SMMC7721 growth in nude mice.XuanWang Fu-KunLiu XiLi Jie-ShouLi Gen-XinXu 2002World Journal of Gastroenterology2002,8,6:9

8Control allocation for a V/STOL aircraft based on robust fuzzy control显示文摘This study addresses the design of an output-feedback H-infinity and fuzzy mixed controller for an advanced vertical and/or short take-off and landing aircraft that exhibits satisfactory global stability criteria. A fuzzy logic based optimization approach is employed to solve autonomously the constrained control allocation problem by suitably adjusting the components of the output vector and finding a proper vector in the attainable moment set. 9Experimental Study of Rat Beta Islet Cells Cultured under Simulated Microgravity Conditions显示文摘To observe the effects of simulated microgravity on beta islet cell culture, we have compared the survival rates and the insulin levels of the isolated rat islet cells cultured at micro- and normal gravity conditions. The survival rates of the cells cultured were determined by acridine orange-propidium iodide double-staining on day 3,7 and 14. The morphology of the cells was observed by electron microscopy.Insulin levels were measured by radio immuno assays. Our results show that the cell number cultured underthe microgravity condition is significantly higher than that under the routine condition (P<0.01). Some tubular structure shown by transmission electron microscopy, possibly for the transport of nutrients, were formed intercellularly in the microgravity cultured group on day 7. There were also abundant secretion particles and mitochondria in the cytoplasm of the cells. Scanning electron microscopy showed that there were holes formed between each islet, possibly connecting with the nutrient transport tubules. The microgravity cultured group also has higher insulin levels in the media as compared with the control group (P<0.01). 10A Kernel PCA Shape Prior and Edge Based MRF Image Segmentation显示文摘We introduce both shape prior and edge information to Markov random field(MRF) to segment target of interest in images. Kernel Principal component analysis(PCA) is performed on a set of training shapes to obtain statistical shape representation. Edges are extracted directly from images. Both of them are added to the MRF energy function and the integrated energy function is minimized by graph cuts. An alignment procedure is presented to deal with variations between the target object and shape templates. Edge information makes the influence of inaccurate shape alignment not too severe, and brings result smoother. 11Artemisinin ameliorated proteinuria in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy through regulating nephrin and podocin expressions显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of artemisinin against proteinuria and glomerular filtration barrier damage in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy,and the potential mechanism underpinned the action.METHODS:Forty adriamycin rats were randomly divided into two groups with the ratio of 1︰3;the small-number group served as control group(n=10),and the rats in the large-number group were treated with adriamycin to induce nephropathy;then they were further randomly assigned into 3subgroups:benazepril group(n=10),artemisiningroup(n=10),and adriamycin group(n=10).The benazepril group and artemisinin group were treated with benazepril suspl(5.0 mg/kg daily)and artemisinin suspl(150 mg/kg daily)respectively after being modeled;those in the control group and adriamycin group were intragastrically administered an equivalent volume of distilled water every day.The treatment after model establishment lasted for a total of 4 weeks.The 24 h uric protein,blood biochemicals,renal pathological changes,renal ultrastrutural changes,Nephrin and Podocin proteins and gene expressions were measured by Coomassie brilliant blue assay,completely automatic biochemical analyzer,light microscope,electron microscopy,Western blot and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction,respectively.RESULTS:The rats in adriamycin group showed a significant increase in 24 h uric protein excretion,serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Scr)and decrease in albumin(Alb)(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with adriamycin group,artemisinin could reduce uric protein excretion,decrease the serum TC,TG elevation,increase the serum Alb level,up-regulate the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin(P<0.05 or P<0.01),but no statistical significance effects on the levels of BUN,Scr in artemisinin group(P>0.05).The renal pathological and ultrastrutural observation indicate that artemisinin could attenuate the severity of foot process effacement and fusion in the nephropathic rats.CONCLUSION:Artemisinin might have an effect on the nephropathy in rats caused by adriamycin,which may be at least partly correlated with attenu-ation of the severity of foot process effacement and fusion,up-regulation of the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin in the glomeruli in the rats.Xili Wu Peng An Bingyu Ye Xingmin Shi Huimin Dang Rongguo Fu Chenglin Qiao 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1:5

14Photocatalytic and Electrocatalytic Generation of Hydrogen Peroxide: Principles, Catalyst Design and Performance显示文摘Hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)) is a high-demand organic chemical reagent and has been widely used in various modern industrial applications. Currently,the prominent method for the preparation of H_(2)O_(2) is the anthraquinone oxidation.Unfortunately, it is not conducive to economic and sustainable development since it is a complex process and involves unfriendly environment and potential hazards. In this context, numerous approaches have been developed to synthesize H_(2)O_(2). Among them, photo/electro-catalytic ones are considered as two of the most promising manners for on-site synthesis of H_(2)O_(2). These alternatives are sustainable in that only water or O_(2) is required. Namely, water oxidation(WOR) or oxygen reduction(ORR)reactions can be further coupled with clean and sustainable energy. For photo/electro-catalytic reactions for H_(2)O_(2) generation, the design of the catalysts is extremely important and has been extensively conducted with an aim to obtain ultimate catalytic performance. This article overviews the basic principles of WOR and ORR,followed by the summary of recent progresses and achievements on the design and performance of various photo/electro-catalysts for H_(2)O_(2) generation. The related mechanisms for these approaches are highlighted from theoretical and experimental aspects. 15Structural Traps in Detachment Folds:a Case Study from the 'Comband Trough-like' Deformation Zone/s,East Sichuan,China显示文摘Detachment structures occur widely in the crust,and it is the commonest and most important deformation type developed in the region between orogenic belts and basins.The ’comb-like’ and ’toughlike’ fold belts in eastern Sichuan are caused by multi-layer detachment.The duplex structure is the most important deformation style in the region,exhibiting different characteristics from typical detachment structures.Different deformation styles,scales,and shortenings resulting from independent deformations of various detachment systems would lead to the phenomenon whereby most of the topographical heights in the region do not correspond to the structural heights in depth.Based on systematic structural analysis and combined with practical oil/gas prospecting,four types of structural traps are described from eastern Sichuan Province,which are:detachment and thrust trap;detachment folding trap;fault-flat blocking trap;and detachment layer trap.Meticulous studies on the deformation and distribution of detachment layers in the eastern Sichuan Province will contribute to oil/gas prospecting and selection of potential regions of marine-origin oil/gas prospecting in South China.WANG Zongxiu ZHANG Jin LI Tao ZHOU Xingui MA Zongjin TANG Liangjie XIAO Weifeng YAN Xili 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,4:3
16Wenyang Huazhuo Fang exerts transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily C member-dependent nephroprotection in a rat model of doxorubicin-induced nephropathy显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To determine the effect of Wenyang Huazhuo Fang(WHF),a Traditional Chinese Medicine decoction,on renal function in a rat model of doxorubicin-induced nephropathy,and to elucidate the underlying mechanism.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups:control,doxorubicin-nephropathy,and prednisone-treated(6.45 mg·kg^-1·d^-1)doxorubicin nephropathy groups,as well as high-(7.26 g·kg^-1·d^-1),medium-(2.42 g·kg-1·d-),and low-dose(0.81 g·kg^-1·d^-1)WHF-treated doxorubicin-nephropathy groups.The nephropathy rat model was established by two tail vein injections of doxorubicin,followed by prednisone or WHF treatment for 8 weeks.Body weights were monitored and urinary protein was measured every 2 weeks.After the end of the treatment period,the rats were euthanized.Serum biochemical indicators were determined and renal morphological alterations were assessed using histological staining.The expression of transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily C member 6(TRPC6),stromal interaction molecule 1(STIM1),and calcium release-activated calcium channel protein 1(Orai1)was detected using western blotting,and their mRNA levels were examined using quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:WHF treatment was found to significantly ameliorate weight loss,proteinuria,hypoalbuminemia,and dyslipidemia in doxorubicin-nephropathy rats.The protein and mRNA levels of TRPC6,STIM1,and Orai1 were partially,but significantly suppressed by prednisone or WHF treatment.CONCLUSION:Treatment with WHF significantly ameliorates renal injury in a rat model of doxorubicin-induced nephropathy,which could be at least partially related to repression of the TRPC6 pathway.An Peng Dong Sheng Li Xingyao Cai Zimo Ye Bingyu Zhang Aijun Shi Xingmin Wu Xili 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4:3
17Semi-supervised Support Vector Regression Model for Remote Sensing Water Quality Retrieving显示文摘This paper proposed a semi-supervised regression model with co-training algorithm based on support vector machine, which was used for retrieving water quality variables from SPOT 5 remote sensing data. The model consisted of two support vector regressors (SVRs). Nonlinear relationship between water quality variables and SPOT 5 spectrum was described by the two SVRs, and semi-supervised co-training algorithm for the SVRs was es-tablished. The model was used for retrieving concentrations of four representative pollution indicators―permangan- ate index (CODmn), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and dissolved oxygen (DO) of the Weihe River in Shaanxi Province, China. The spatial distribution map for those variables over a part of the Weihe River was also produced. SVR can be used to implement any nonlinear mapping readily, and semi-supervis- ed learning can make use of both labeled and unlabeled samples. By integrating the two SVRs and using semi-supervised learning, we provide an operational method when paired samples are limited. 18The effect of mechanical loads on the degradation of aliphatic biodegradable polyesters显示文摘Aliphatic biodegradable polyesters have been the most widely used synthetic polymers for developing biodegradable devices as alternatives for the currently used permanent medical devices.The performances during biodegradation process play crucial roles for final realization of their functions.Because physiological and biochemical environment in vivo significantly affects biodegradation process,large numbers of studies on effects of mechanical loads on the degradation of aliphatic biodegradable polyesters have been launched during last decades.In this review article,we discussed the mechanism of biodegradation and several different mechanical loads that have been reported to affect the biodegradation process.Other physiological and biochemical factors related to mechanical loads were also discussed.The mechanical load could change the conformational strain energy and morphology to weaken the stability of the polymer.Besides,the load and pattern could accelerate the loss of intrinsic mechanical properties of polymers.This indicated that investigations into effects of mechanical loads on the degradation should be indispensable.More combination condition of mechanical loads and multiple factors should be considered in order to keep the degradation rate controllable and evaluate the degradation process in vivo accurately.Only then can the degradable devise achieve the desired effects and further expand the special applications of aliphatic biodegradable polyesters.Ying Li Zhaowei Chu Xiaoming Li Xili Ding Meng Guo Haoran Zhao Jie Yao Lizhen Wang Qiang Cai Yubo Fan 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,3:2

20Chloride channel blocker 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid inhibits nitric oxide-induced apoptosis in cultured rat hippocampal neurons显示文摘Apoptosis in cultured rat hippocampal neurons was induced using the nitric oxide donor 3-morpholinosydnonimine, and cells were treated with the chloride channel blocker, 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid. Results showed that the survival rate of neurons was significantly increased after treatment with 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid, and the rate of apoptosis decreased. In addition, the expression of the apoptosis-related proteins poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose)polymerase-1 and apoptosis-inducing factor were significantly reduced.
