ADSORPTION OF LOW CONCENTRATION OF FREE ACID BY REGENERABLE CHITIN显示文摘The adsorption of low concentration of free acid by regenerable chitin is followed by electric conductance determination. The effect of acid concentration, content of functional amino groups, and ionic strength on adsorption was discussed. | 2 | Effects of drought stress on photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence images of soybean(Glycine max)seedlings显示文摘The main purpose of this research is to provide a theoretical foundation for the screening of drought-resistant soybean varieties and to establish an efficient method to detect the PSII actual photochemical quantum yields efficiently.Three soybean varieties were compared in this experiment after 15 d when they were planted in a greenhouse.These varieties were then exposed to light drought stress(LD)and serious drought stress(SD)conditions.With five times’measurement,chlorophyll fluorescence and soil-plant analysis development considered as the main basis for this study.Several parameters in SD conditions significantly reduced,such as net photosynthetic rates(Pn),stomatal conductance(Gs),PSII primary light energy conversion efficiency(Fv/FM),PSII actual photochemical quantum yields[Y(II)],photochemical quenching coefficient(qP)and non-photochemical quenching coefficient(qN).The soybeans in the seedling stage adapted to the inhibitory effect of drought stress on photosynthesis through stomatal limitation.Under serious drought stress,non-stomatal limitation damaged the plant photosynthetic system.The amplitudes of Pn and Y(II)of drought-resistant Qihuang 35 were lower than those of the two other varieties.Based on the data of this study,a new method had been developed to detect Y(II)which reflected the photosynthetic capacity of plant,R=0.85989,u=0.048803 when using multiple linear regression,and R=0.84285,u=0.054739 when using partial least square regression. | Wensen Wang Cheng Wang Dayu Pan Yakun Zhang Bin Luo Jianwei Ji | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 7 |

| 5 | Role of VEGF in the growth and metastasis of a murine bladder carcinoma显示文摘Bladder transitional cell carcinoma is the most common form of carcinoma in the urinary system. Although overexpression of VEGF has been identified in tissue, serum, and urine of patients with bladder cancer, the role of VEGF in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder has not beenclearly elucidated. Here, we dissected the effect of VEGFduring bladder tumor growth and progression by modifying a BBN (N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl) nitrosamine) induced mouse bladder transitional cell carcinoma cell lineBTT-T739 by stable transfection of antisense VEGF121 cDNA. The transfection resulted in more than 80% reduction inVEGF production. The growth of the transduced tumor cells in vitro was not affected, however, these cells formed small or no tumors in vivo. Even in the tumors formed, there were mini- mal vascularization, extensive necrosis and longerlatency compared to those formed by parental cells. Thepermeability of tumor vasculature and metastatic tumor growth were also significantly suppressed in antisense VEGFcDNA trans- fected cells. In addition, the transfer ofanti-angiogenic gene in a combination of sFlk-1 and ExTekwith electroporation can suppress the tumor growthefficiently. | 8 | 3D-printed models improve surgical planning for correction of severe postburn ankle contracture with an external fixator显示文摘Gradual distraction with an external fixator is a widely used treatment for severe postburn ankle contracture(SPAC).However,application of external fixators is complex,and conventional two-dimensional(2D)imaging-based surgical planning is not particularly helpful due to a lack of spatial geometry.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the surgical planning process for this procedure with patient-specific three-dimension-printed models(3DPMs).In this study,patients coming from two centers were divided into two cohorts(3DPM group vs.control group)depending on whether a 3DPM was used for preoperative surgical planning.Operation duration,improvement in metatarsal-tibial angle(MTA),range of motion(ROM),the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)scores,complications,and patient-reported satisfaction were compared between two groups.The 3DPM group had significantly shorter operation duration than the control group((2.0±0.3)h vs.(3.2±0.3)h,P<0.01).MTA,ROM,and AOFAS scores between the two groups showed no significant differences pre-operation,after the removal of the external fixator,or at follow-up.Plantigrade feet were achieved and gait was substantially improved in all patients at the final follow-up.Pin-tract infections occurred in two patients(one in each group)during distraction and were treated with wound care and oral antibiotics.Patients in the 3DPM group reported higher satisfaction than those in the control group,owing to better patient-surgeon communication.Surgical planning using patient-specific 3DPMs significantly reduced operation duration and increased patient satisfaction,while providing similar improvements in ankle movement and function compared to traditional surgical planning for the correction of SPAC with external fixators. | Youbai CHEN Zehao NIU Weiqian JIANG Ran TAO Yonghong LEI Lingli GUO Kexue ZHANG Wensen XIA Baoqiang SONG Luyu HUANG Qixu ZHANG Yan HAN | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,10: | 3 |
| 9 | Regulation of the radiosensitivity of tumor cells through HIF-1α dependent intracellular redox status after fractionated radiation显示文摘Tumor cells often develop resistance to radiotherapy by fractionated radiation possibly due to the heterogeneity and hypoxia in tumor tissue.However,the mechanism of refractory effect remains unclear.In the present study,a radioresistant variant HepG2/R60 cell line was isolated from human HepG2 cells by repeated exposure to radiation.The results showed that,after irradiation,the higher survival rate was in HepG2/R60 cells compared to parental cells.Hypoxia treatment could further increase the radioresistance of HepG2/R60 cells concomitant with high level of intracellular GSH and overexpression of HIF-1α.When hypoxic HepG2/R60 cells were pretreated with BSO,a GSH depleter,the refractory response was significantly reduced showing a decrease in intracellular GSH level,followed by the suppression of HIF-1α in hypoxic cells.Subsequent study found that the level of BCL-2 was down-regulated,targeted by HIF-1 prompting transcription in hypoxic cells.The effect of HIF-1α on the radiosensitivity of hypoxic cells was confirmed using YC-1,a specific inhibitor of HIF-1α.Consequently,our results suggest that the radiosensitivity of tumor cells might be regulated by fractionated radiation,and the radioresistance of cells induced by repeated exposure,under hypoxic condition,could be correlated with overexpression of HIF-1α dependent on the alteration of intracellular GSH contents. | JIN Wensen KONG Zhaolu SHEN Zhifen JIN Yizun ZHANG Wukui | 2010 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2010,21,5: | 2 |
