1Characteristics and formation mechanism of regional haze episodes in the Pearl River Delta of China显示文摘To investigate the characteristics and the specific mechanism of continuous haze,comprehensive measurements were conducted from 15 October to 19 November in the Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Super-Station in Heshan of Guangdong province.Five haze episodes occurred in October and November 2014 in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region. The meteorological parameters, gas data, chemical compositions, and optical parameters of the aerosols were obtained. Among these events, the second haze episode,with the highest concentration of PM2.5 of 187.51 μg/m^3, was the most severe. NO^3-was always higher than SO_4^(2-), which indicated that motor vehicles played an important role in the haze, even though the oxidation rate from SO_2 to SO_4^(2-)was faster than that of NOXto NO_3^-. The difference between the hourly averages of Na+and K+during the haze episode and clean days was small, implying that straw combustion and sea salt had no significant effect on the occurrence of haze, and the backward trajectories of the air masses also conformed with this result. The air pollutants were difficult to disperse because of the significant decrease in the planetary boundary layer(PBL) height. 2Nitrogen Biological Cycle Characteristics of Seepweed(Suaeda salsa) Wetland in Intertidal Zone of Huanghe(Yellow) River Estuary显示文摘From April 2008 to November 2009,the nitrogen(N) cycle of plantsoil system in seepweed(Suaeda salsa) wetland in the intertidal zone of the Huanghe(Yellow) River estuary was studied.Results showed that soil N had sig-nificant seasonal fluctuations and vertical distribution,and the net N mineralization rates in topsoil were significantly different in growing season(p < 0.01).The N/P ratio(9.87 ± 1.23) of S.salsa was less than 14,indicating that plant growth was limited by N.The N accumulated in S.salsa litter at all times during decomposition,which was ascribed to the N immobilization by microbes from the environment.Soil organic N was the main N stock of plant-soil system,accounting for 97.35% of the total N stock.The N absorption and utilization coefficients of S.salsa were very low(0.0145 and 0.3844,respectively),while the N cycle coefficient was high(0.7108).The results of the N turnovers among compartments of S.salsa wetland showed that the N uptake amount of aboveground part and root were 7.764 g/m2and 4.332 g/m2,respectively.The N translocation amounts from aboveground part to root and from root to soil were 3.881 g/m2 and 0.626 g/m2,respectively.The N translocation amount from aboveground living body to litter was 3.883 g/m2,the annual N return amount from litter to soil was more than 0.125(-) g/m2(minus represented immobilization),and the net N mineralization amount in topsoil(0-15 cm) in growing season was 1.190 g/m2.The assessment of N biological cycle status of S.salsa wetland indicated that N was a very important limiting factor and the ecosystem was situated in unstable and vulnerable status.The S.salsa was seemingly well adapted to the low-nutrient status and vulnerable habitat,and the N quantitative relationships determined in the compartment model might provide scientific base for us to reveal the special adaptive strategy of S.salsa to the vulnerable habitat in the following studies.SUN Zhigao MOU Xiaojie SUN Jingkuan SONG Hongli YU Xiang WANG Lingling JIANG Huanhuan SUN Wanlong SUN Wenguang 2012Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,1:9

4Construction of bifunctional single-atom catalysts on the optimized β-Mo_(2)C surface for highly selective hydrogenation of CO_(2) into ethanol显示文摘Green and economical CO_(2)utilization is significant for CO_(2)emission reduction and energy development.Here,the 1D Mo_(2)C nanowires with dominant(101)crystal surfaces were modified by the deposition of atomic functional components Rh and K.While unmodifiedβMo_(2)C could only convert CO_(2)to methanol,the designed catalyst of K_(0.2)Rh_(0.2)/β-Mo_(2)C exhibited up to 72.1%of ethanol selectivity at 150℃.It was observed that the atomically dispersed Rh could form the bifunctional active centres with the active carrierβMo_(2)C with the synergistic effects to achieve highly specific controlled C–C coupling.By promoting the CO_(2)adsorption and activation,the introduction of an alkali metal(K)mainly regulated the balanced performance of the two active centres,which in turn improved the hydrogenation selectivity.Overall,the controlled modification ofβMo_(2)C provides a new design strategy for the highly efficient,lowtemperature hydrogenation of CO_(2)to ethanol with single-atom catalysts,which provides an excellent example for the rational design of the complex catalysts.Xue Ye Junguo Ma Wenguang Yu Xiaoli Pan Chongya Yang Chang Wang Qinggang Liu Yanqiang Huang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4:2
5Insights into the phenomenon of an explosive growth and sharp decline in haze:A case study in Beijing显示文摘A severe haze episode occurred in winter in the North China Plain(NCP),and the phenomenon of an explosive growth and sharp decline in PM2.5(particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter equal to or less than 2.5μm)concentration was observed.To study the systematic causes for this phenomenon,comprehensive observations were conducted in Beijing from November 26 to December 2,2015;during this period,meteorological parameters,LIDAR data,and the chemical compositions of aerosols were determined.The haze episode was characterized by rapidly varying PM2.5 concentration,and the highest PM2.5 concentration reached 667μg/m3.During the haze episode,the NCP was dominated by a weak high-pressure system and continuously low PBL(planetary boundary layer)heights,which are unfavorable conditions for the diffusion of pollutants.The large increases in the concentrations of SNA(SO42-,NO3-and NH4+)during the haze implied that the formation of SNA was the largest contribution.Water vapor also played a vital role in the formation of haze by promoting the chemical transformation of secondary pollutants,which led to higher PM2.5 concentrations.The spatial distributions of PM2.5 in Beijing at different times and the backward trajectories of the air masses also indicated that pollutants from surrounding provinces in particular,contributed to the higher PM2.5concentration.Wenguang Li Xingang Liu Yuanhang Zhang Qinwen Tan Miao Feng Mengdi Song Lirong Hui Yu Qu Junling An Haokai Gao 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,10:1

7Effect of Initial Principal Stress Direction on the Dynamic Characteristics of Carbonate Sand显示文摘The dynamic characteristics of carbonate sand under wave loads are very important for constructions on the ocean floor. The initial principal stress direction has been known to exert some influence on the dynamic characteristics of sand during cyclic loading. In an effort to investigate this aspect of the problem, several series of cyclic undrained tests were carried out on a saturated and loose sample of carbonate sand using a geotechnical static and dynamic universal triaxial shear apparatus. In this test apparatus, a hollow cylindrical sand specimen is subjected to a simultaneous application of both triaxial and torsional modes of shear stresses, which brings about the continuous rotation of principal stress axes. 13An anti-bacterial porous shape memory self-adaptive stiffened polymer for alveolar bone regeneration after tooth extraction显示文摘The regeneration of alveolar bone after tooth extraction is critical for the placement of dental implants.Developing a rigid porous scaffold with defect shape adaptability is of great importance but challenging for alveolar bone regeneration.Herein,we design and synthesize a biocompatible poly(L-glutamic acid)-g-poly(ε-caprolactone)(PLGA-g-PCL)porous shape memory(SM)polymer.The PLGA-g-PCL is then copolymerized with acryloyl chloride grafted poly(ω-pentadecalactone)(PPDLDA)having a higher phase transition temperature than shape recovery temperature to maintain stiffness after shape recovery to resist chewing force.The hybrid pol-ydopamine/silver/hydroxyapatite(PDA/Ag/HA)is coated to the surface of(PLGA-g-PCL)-PPDL scaffold to afford the anti-bacterial activity.The porous SM scaffold can be deformed into a compact size and administered into the socket cavity in a minimally invasive mode,and recover its original shape with a high stiffness at body tem-perature,fitting well in the socket defect.The SM scaffold exhibits robust antibacterial activity against Staphy-lococcus aureus(S.aureus).The porous microstructure and cytocompatibility of PLGA allow for the ingrowth and proliferation of stem cells,thus facilitating osteogenic differentiation.The micro-CT and histological analyses demonstrate that the scaffold boosts efficient new bone regeneration in the socket of rabbit mandibular first premolar.This porous shape memory self-adaptive stiffened polymer opens up a new avenue for alveolar bone regeneration.Weijun Zhang Meilin Yu Yongqiang Cao Zihan Zhuang Kunxi Zhang Dong Chen Wenguang Liu Jingbo Yin 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:0

15Design of advanced porous silver powder with high-sintering activity to improve silicon solar cells显示文摘Silver(Ag)paste is widely used in semiconductor metallization,especially in silicon solar cells.Ag powder is the material with the highest proportion in Ag paste.The morphology and structure of Ag powder are crucial which determine its characteristics,especially for the sintering activity.In this work,a simple method was developed to synthesize a type of microcrystalline spherical Ag particles(SP-A)with internal pores and the structural changes and sintering behavior were thoroughly studied by combining ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering(USAXS),small-angle X-ray scattering(SAXS),in-situ heating X-ray diffraction(XRD),focused ion beam(FIB),and thermal analysis measurement.Due to the unique internal pores,the grain size of SP-A is smaller,and the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)is higher than that of traditional solid Ag particles.As a result,the sintering activity of SP-A is excellent,which can form a denser sintered body and form silver nanoparticles at the Ag–Si interface to improve silver silicon contact.Polycrystalline silicon solar cell built with SP-A obtained a low series resistance(Rs)and a high photoelectric conversion efficiency(PCE)of 19.26%.These fill a gap in Ag particle structure research,which is significant for the development of high-performance electronic Ag particles and efficient semiconductor devices.Yongsheng Li Ziwei Chen Rui Zhou Wenguang Zhao Mu Li Jun Chen Zhongyuan Huang Jian Liu Yuhang Li Maolin Yang Minghan Yu Dong Zhou Yuan Lin Feng Pan 2024Nano Research2024,17,4:0

17LotusSQL:SQL Engine for High-Performance Big Data Systems显示文摘In recent years,Apache Spark has become the de facto standard for big data processing.SparkSQL is a module offering support for relational analysis on Spark with Structured Query Language(SQL).SparkSQL provides convenient data processing interfaces.Despite its efficient optimizer,SparkSQL still suffers from the inefficiency of Spark resulting from Java virtual machine and the unnecessary data serialization and deserialization.Adopting native languages such as C++could help to avoid such bottlenecks.Benefiting from a bare-metal runtime environment and template usage,systems with C++interfaces usually achieve superior performance.However,the complexity of native languages also increases the required programming and debugging efforts.In this work,we present LotusSQL,an engine to provide SQL support for dataset abstraction on a native backend Lotus.We employ a convenient SQL processing framework to deal with frontend jobs.Advanced query optimization technologies are added to improve the quality of execution plans.Above the storage design and user interface of the compute engine,LotusSQL implements a set of structured dataset operations with high efficiency and integrates them with the frontend.Evaluation results show that LotusSQL achieves a speedup of up to 9 in certain queries and outperforms Spark SQL in a standard query benchmark by more than 2 on average.Xiaohan Li Bowen Yu Guanyu Feng Haojie Wang Wenguang Chen 2021Big Data Mining and Analytics2021,4,4:0
18A Programmable Inchworm-Inspired Soft Robot Powered by a Rotating Magnetic Field显示文摘With the growing demand for miniaturized workspaces,the demand for microrobots has been increasing in robotics research.Compared to traditional rigid robots,soft robots have better robustness and safety.With a flexible structure,soft robots can undergo large deformations and achieve a variety of motion states.Researchers are working to design and fabricate flexible robots based on biomimetic principles,using magnetic fields for cable-free actuation.In this study,we propose an inchworm-shaped soft robot driven by a magnetic field.First,a robot is designed and fabricated and force analysis is performed.Then,factors affecting the soft robot’s motion speed are examined,including the spacing between the magnets and the strength and frequency of the magnetic field.On this basis,the motion characteristics of the robot in different shapes are explored,and its motion modes such as climbing are experimentally investigated.The results show that the motion of the robot can be controlled in a two-dimensional plane,and its movement speed can be controlled by adjusting the strength of the magnetic field and other factors.Our proposed soft robot is expected to find extensive applications in various fields.Honglin Shen Shuxiang Cai Zhen Wang Zheng Yuan Haibo Yu Wenguang Yang 2023Journal of Bionic Engineering2023,20,2:0
19Synthetic[FeFe]-H_2ase models bearing phosphino thioether chelating ligands显示文摘A series of{2Fe3S}complexes bearing phosphino thioether chelating ligand were synthesized on the basis of Fe_2(Me_2pdt)(1,2-Cy_2PC_6H_4SMe)(CO)_4(Me_2pdt=Me_2C(CH_2S^1)_2,1).The disubstituted Fe(Ⅰ)Fe(Ⅰ)compound 1 exhibits a reversible one-electron redox even for[Fe(Ⅰ)Fe(Ⅱ)]^(+/0)couple.Based on the oxidation of 1 to[1]^+,the tri-substituted[Fe(Ⅰ)Fe(Ⅱ)]^+cationic complex[Fe_2(Me_2pdt)(1,2-Cy_2PC_6H_4SMe)(PPh_3)(CO)_3]^+([2]^+)was synthesized.Reduction of[2]^+provided the neutral tri-substituted Fe(Ⅰ)Fe(Ⅰ)compound 2.The substitution of the CO in 1 ligand by PPh_3results in an anodic shift of the Fe^(Ⅱ)Fe~Ⅰ/Fe_ⅠFe_(Ⅰ )couple of 470 mV.Most importantly,this substitution also leads to the Fe-Fe bonds in 1 and 2 with large Lewis basicity difference,i.e.DpK_a^(MeCN)$10.Yingjie Zhao Xin Yu Huilan Hu Xinlong Hu Sakthi Raje Raja Angamuthu Chen-Ho Tung Wenguang Wang 2018Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,11:0
