1Mechanization technology:The key to sugarcane production in China显示文摘Sugarcane is an important cash crop in southern China now planted on about 1.5 million ha in the main production areas in Guangxi,Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan,Guangdong,and Hainan Provinces.Since the cost of labor in China is increasing rapidly and the price of local sugar is uncompetitive with the product from mechanized international producers,China needs to change its sugarcane production methods from manual work to mechanization in order to catch up with international trends in this global industry.Although a lot of effort in China have gone into sugarcane mechanization since the 1960s,the overall level of mechanization in sugarcane production is still only approximately 30%,which is about 20%lower than that achieved in the other main field crops.Almost all of the sugarcane grown in China is still harvested by hand.In order to summarize past experience and promote the mechanization of sugarcane production in China,this paper reviews the whole process of developing mechanization since 1960s and describes the current state of sugarcane mechanization in China.The research currently being undertaken and the main obstacles to be overcome in developing a mechanized sugarcane production system,are described.The design and testing of sugarcane harvesting machinery and its key components has been a significant research area by some Chinese universities,research institutes,and manufacturing companies in these past decades.This paper reviews that research and outlines the main achievements which have been made in this area.Mechanized harvesting systems for sugarcane,and the appropriate harvesting patterns suitable for different growing conditions applying in China,have also been studied.The paper concludes with some comments on the future directions for progress in China’s mechanization of sugarcane production and some policy suggestions to facilitate the industry's transition.Ou Yinggang Malcolm Wegener Yang Dantong Liu Qingting Zheng Dingke Wang Meimei Liu Haochun 2013International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,1:13

4Exercise-induced increase in brain-derived neurotrophic factor in human Parkinson's disease:a systematic review and metaanalysis显示文摘Background:Animal models of exercise and Parkinson’s disease(PD)have found that the physiologic use of exercise may interact with the neurodegenerative disease process,likely mediated by brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).No reviews so far have assessed the methodologic quality of available intervention studies or have bundled the effect sizes of individual studies on exercise-induced effects on BDNF blood levels in human PD.Research design and methods:We searched MEDLINE,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,PsycINFO and PubMed from inception to June 2017.Results:Data aggregated from two randomized controlled trials and four pre-experimental studies with a total of 100 ambulatory patients with idiopathic PD(Hoehn/Yahr≤3)found improvements in BDNF blood concentration levels in all 6 studies(two RCTs and 4 pre-experimental studies).Pooled BDNF level change scores from the 2 RCTs resulted in a significant homogeneous summary effect size(Standardized Mean Difference 2.06,95% CI 1.36 to 2.76),and a significant heterogeneous SES for the motor part of the UPDRS-Ⅲ examination(MD-5.53,95% CI-10.42 to-0.64).Clinical improvements were noted in all studies using a variety of outcome measures.Limitations:The evidence-base consists primarily of small studies with low to moderate methodological quality.Conclusions:This review provides preliminary evidence for the effectiveness of physical exercise treatments for persons with PD on BDNF blood levels.Further research is needed.Mark A.Hirsch Erwin E.H.van Wegen Mark A.Newman Patricia C.Heyn 2018Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1:6

12Towards in-situ diagnostics of multi-photon 3D laser printing using optical coherence tomography显示文摘In recent years,multi-photon 3D laser printing has become a widely used tool for the fabrication of micro-and nanostructures for a large variety of applications.Typically,thorough sample characterisation is key for an efficient optimisation of the printing process.To date,three-dimensional microscopic inspection has usually been carried out on finished 3D printed microstructures,that is,using ex-situ approaches.In contrast,in-situ 3D characterization tools are desirable for quickly assessing the quality and properties of 3D printed microstructures.Along these lines,we present and characterise a Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography(FD-OCT)system that can be readily integrated into an existing 3D laser lithography setup.We demonstrate its capabilities by examining different 3D printed polymer microstructures immersed in a liquid photoresist.In such samples,local reflectivity arises from the(refractive-index)contrasts between the polymerised and non-polymerised regions.Thus,the refractive index of the printed material can be extracted.Furthermore,we demonstrate that the reflectivity of polymer-monomer transitions exhibits time-dependent behaviour after printing.Supported by transfer-matrix calculations,we explain this effect in terms of the time-dependent graded-index transition originating from monomer diffusion into the polymer matrix.Finally,we show exemplary 3D reconstructions of printed structures that can be readily compared with 3D computer designs.Roman Zvagelsky Frederik Mayer Dominik Beutel Carsten Rockstuhl Guillaume Gomard Martin Wegener 2022Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2022,3,3:2
13Hybrid 2D–3D optical devices for integrated optics by direct laser writing显示文摘Integrated optical chips have already been established for application in optical communication.They also offer interesting future perspectives for integrated quantum optics on a chip.At present,however,they are mostly fabricated using essentially planar fabrication approaches like electron-beam lithography or UV optical lithography.Many further design options would arise if one had complete fabrication freedom in regard to the third dimension normal to the chip without having to give up the virtues and the know-how of existing planar fabrication technologies.As a step in this direction,we here use three-dimensional dip-in direct-laser-writing optical lithography to fabricate three-dimensional polymeric functional devices on pre-fabricated planar optical chips containing Si3N4 waveguides as well as grating couplers made by standard electron-beam lithography.The first example is a polymeric dielectric rectangular-shaped waveguide which is connected to Si3N4 waveguides and that is adiabatically twisted along its axis to achieve geometrical rotation of linear polarization on the chip.The rotator’s broadband performance at around 1550 nm wavelength is verified by polarization-dependent grating couplers.Such polarization rotation on the optical chip cannot easily be achieved by other means.The second example is a whispering-gallery-mode optical resonator connected to Si_(3)N_(4) waveguides on the chip via polymeric waveguides.By mechanically connecting the latter to the disk,we can control the coupling to the resonator and,at the same time,guarantee mechanical stability of the three-dimensional architecture on the chip.Martin Schumann Tiemo Buckmann Nico Gruhler Martin Wegener Wolfram Pernice 2014Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1:2
