1Ecosystem Health Assessment of Honghu Lake Wetland of China Using Artificial Neural Network Approach显示文摘Honghu Lake,located in the southeast of Hubei Province,China,has suffered a severe disturbance during the past few decades.To restore the ecosystem,the Honghu Lake Wetland Protection and Restoration Demonstration Project(HLWPRDP) has been implemented since 2004.A back propagation(BP) artificial neural network(ANN) approach was applied to evaluatinig the ecosystem health of the Honghu Lake wetland.And the effectiveness of the HLWPRDP was also assessed by comparing the ecosystem health before and after the project.Particularly,12 ecosystem health indices were used as evaluation parameters to establish a set of three-layer BP ANNs.The output is one layer of ecosystem health index.After training and testing the BP ANNs,an optimal model of BP ANNs was selected to assess the ecosystem health of the Honghu Lake wetland.The result indicates that four stages can be identified based on the change of the ecosystem health from 1990 to 2008 and the ecosystem health index ranges from morbidity before the implementation of HLWPRDP(in 2002) to middle health after the implementation of the HLWPRDP(in 2005).It demonstrates that the HLWPRDP is effective and the BP ANN could be used as a tool for the assessment of ecosystem health.MO Minghao WANG Xuelei WU Houjian CAI Shuming Xiaoyang ZHANG WANG Huiliang 2009Chinese Geographical Science2009,19,4:21
2Protein tyrosine phosphatases in skeletal development and diseases显示文摘Skeletal development and homeostasis in mammals are modulated by finely coordinated processes of migration, proliferation,differentiation, and death of skeletogenic cells originating from the mesoderm and neural crest. Numerous molecular mechanisms are involved in these regulatory processes, one of which is protein posttranslational modifications, particularly protein tyrosine phosphorylation(PYP). PYP occurs mainly through the action of protein tyrosine kinases(PTKs), modifying protein enzymatic activity, changing its cellular localization, and aiding in the assembly or disassembly of protein signaling complexes. Under physiological conditions, PYP is balanced by the coordinated action of PTKs and protein tyrosine phosphatases(PTPs).Dysregulation of PYP can cause genetic, metabolic, developmental, and oncogenic skeletal diseases. Although PYP is a reversible biochemical process, in contrast to PTKs, little is known about how this equilibrium is modulated by PTPs in the skeletal system.Whole-genome sequencing has revealed a large and diverse superfamily of PTP genes(over 100 members) in humans, which can be further divided into cysteine(Cys)-, aspartic acid(Asp)-, and histidine(His)-based PTPs. Here, we review current knowledge about the functions and regulatory mechanisms of 28 PTPs involved in skeletal development and diseases;27 of them belong to class Ⅰ and Ⅱ Cys-based PTPs, and the other is an Asp-based PTP. Recent progress in analyzing animal models that harbor various mutations in these PTPs and future research directions are also discussed. 3High-performance all-polymer solar cells enabled by a novel low bandgap non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor显示文摘The non-fully conjugated polymer as a new class of acceptor materials has shown some advantages over its small molecular counterpart when used in photoactive layers for all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs),despite a low power conversion efficiency(PCE)caused by its narrow absorption spectra.Herein,a novel non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-2TS with a low bandgap of~1.40 eV was developed,via polymerizing a largeπ-fused small molecule acceptor(SMA)building block(namely YBO)with a non-conjugated thioalkyl linkage.Compared with its precursor YBO,PFY-2TS retains a similar low bandgap but a higher LUMO level.Moreover,compared with the structural analog of YBO-based fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-DTC,PFY-2TS shows a similar absorption spectrum and electron mobility,but significantly different molecular crystallinity and aggregation properties,which results in optimal blend morphology with a polymer donor PBDB-T and physical processes of the device in all-PSCs.As a result,PFY-2TS-based all-PSCs achieved a PCE of 12.31%with a small energy loss of 0.56 eV enabled by the reduced non-radiative energy loss(0.24 eV),which is better than that of 11.08%for the PFY-DTC-based ones.Our work clearly demonstrated that non-fully conjugated polymers as a new class of acceptor materials are very promising for the development of high-performance all-PSCs.Qunping Fan Ruijie Ma Tao Liu Jianwei Yu Yiqun Xiao Wenyan Su Guilong Cai Yuxiang Li Wenhong Peng Tao Guo Zhenghui Luo Huiliang Sun Lintao Hou Weiguo Zhu Xinhui Lu Feng Gao Ellen Moons Donghong Yu He Yan Ergang Wang 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,8:3
4Targeted Ptpn11 deletion in mice reveals the essential role of SHP2 in osteoblast differentiation and skeletal homeostasis显示文摘The maturation and function of osteoblasts(OBs)rely heavily on the reversible phosphorylation of signaling proteins.To date,most of the work in OBs has focused on phosphorylation by tyrosyl kinases,but little has been revealed about dephosphorylation by protein tyrosine phosphatases(PTPases).SHP2(encoded by PTPN11)is a ubiquitously expressed PTPase.PTPN11 mutations are associated with both bone and cartilage manifestations in patients with Noonan syndrome(NS)and metachondromatosis(MC),although the underlying mechanisms remain elusive.Here,we report that SHP2 deletion in bone gamma-carboxyglutamate protein-expressing(Bglap+)bone cells leads to massive osteopenia in both trabecular and cortical bones due to the failure of bone cell maturation and enhanced osteoclast activity,and its deletion in Bglap+chondrocytes results in the onset of enchondroma and osteochondroma in aged mice with increased tubular bone length.Mechanistically,SHP2 was found to be required for osteoblastic differentiation by promoting RUNX2/OSTERIX signaling and for the suppression of osteoclastogenesis by inhibiting STAT3-mediated RANKL production by osteoblasts and osteocytes.These findings are likely to explain the compromised skeletal system in NS and MC patients and to inform the development of novel therapeutics to combat skeletal disorders.Lijun Wang Huiliang Yang Jiahui Huang Shaopeng Pei Liyun Wang Jian Q.Feng Dian Jing Hu Zhao Henry M.Kronenberg Douglas C.Moore Wentian Yang 2021Bone Research2021,9,1:3
5Early T-cell precursor leukemia:a subtype of high risk childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia显示文摘Acute lymphoblastic leukemia includes T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(T-ALL)and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B-ALL).In children,T-ALL usually has a worse prognosis than B-ALL,although childhood T-ALL prognoses have improved remarkably.The varying outcomes among T-ALL cases suggest that an unrecognized biological heterogeneity may contribute to chemo-resistance.Deep exploration of T-lymphocyte development in recent years has found a subgroup of patients with a phenotype that resembles early T-cell precursor,which confers a much poorer prognosis than any other form of T-ALL.This novel subtype of T-ALL was called early T-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ETP-ALL).Flow cytometry data from T-ALL patients enrolled in Shanghai Children’s Medical Center between July 2002 and October 2010 were assessed according to Dr.Campana’s protocol.Among total 89 T-ALL cases,74 cases had enough immunophenotype data available to differentiate between ETP(CD1a^(-),CD8^(-),CD5^(dim),at least one marker of stem cell or myeloid lineage)and non-ETP.From these 74 subjects,12 ETP-ALL cases(16.2%)were identified.The event-free survival(EFS)rate at 66.8 months was 11.1%±10.1% for ETP-ALL and 57.6%±5.6% for non-ETP-ALL(P=0.003).The overall survival rates were 13.3%±11.0% for ETP-ALL and 64.7%±6.3% for non-ETP-ALL(P=0.002).Our findings demonstrate that early T-cell precursor leukemia is a very high-risk subtype of acute lymphoblastic leukemia with poor prognosis.Meilin Ma Xiang Wang Jingyan Tang Huiliang Xue Jing Chen Ci Pan Hua Jiang Shuhong Shen 2012Frontiers of Medicine2012,6,4:2
6Limitations on the recruitment of the rare sand shrubby legume Eremosparton songoricum(Fabaceae) in Gurbantunggut Desert,China显示文摘Eremosparton songoricum,a rare and endemic sand dune plant,appears to be experiencing recruitment failure.The structure of five populations from the Gurbantunggut Desert,China,was investigated for recruitment patterns,and two of them were examined for flowering,pollination and seed germination limits on regeneration.The results showed that total 150 seedlings only occurred on line transects in riverside Dure population,but they all died half a month later;no seedlings occurred in other four hinterland desert populations indicating recruitment was a failure at all populations although flowers were plentiful.Reproductive success depends on pollinators.Nectar is 'reward' for pollinators,with 0.06 μL-0.12 μL and 0.15 μL-0.35 μL per flower in Dure and Kabu populations,respectively,in continuously two secreting days.Spontaneous self pollination is rare with nearly zero fruit production.Geitonogamous self pollination is predominant with 14.47% fruit set.Seed mass in the riverside Dure population was significantly greater than that in other hinterland desert populations.Consequently,the Dure population exhibited a significantly higher germination rate(about 90%) than those in other populations(about 30%).Results suggested that recruitment failure of E.songoricum is not due to flower shortage,pollination limitation,or poor seed germination but environmental pressure and/or human disturbance.DaoYuan ZHANG HuiLiang LIU Xiang SHI JianCheng WANG YongKuan ZHANG 2011Journal of Arid Land2011,3,2:2

8Human health risk assessment of groundwater nitrate at a two geomorphic units transition zone in northern China显示文摘To assess groundwater nitrate contamination and its human health risks,489 unconfined groundwater samples were collected and analyzed from Zhangjiakou,northern China.The spatial distribution of principle hydrogeochemical results showed that the average concentrations of ions in descend order was HCO3-,SO42-,Na+,Ca2+,Cl-,NO3-,Mg2+and K+,among which the NO3-concentrations were between 0.25 and 536.73 mg/L with an average of 29.72 mg/L.In total,167 out of 489 samples(34%)exceeded the recommended concentration of 20 mg/L in Quality Standard for Groundwater of China.The high NO3-concentration groundwater mainly located in the northern part and near the boundary of the two geomorphic units.As revealed by statistical analysis,the groundwater chemistry was more significantly affected by anthropogenic sources than by the geogenic sources.Moreover,human health risks of groundwater nitrate through oral and dermal exposure pathways were assessed by model,the results showed that about 60%,50%,32%and 26%of the area exceeded the acceptable level(total health index>1)for infants,children,adult males and females,respectively.The health risks for different groups of people varied significantly,ranked:infants>children>adult males>adult females,suggesting that younger people are more susceptible to nitrate contamination,while females are more resistant to nitrate contamination than males.To ensure the drinking water safety in Zhangjiakou and its downstream areas,proper management and treatment of groundwater will be necessary to avoid the health risks associated with nitrate contamination.Huiliang Wang Keyu Lu Chenyang Shen Xiaoguang Song Bin Hu Gang Liu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,12:2

17Terahertz Spectroscopy for Accurate Identification of Panax quinquefolium Basing on Nonconjugated 24(R)-Pseudoginsenoside F_(11)显示文摘Panax quinquefolium is a perennial herbaceous plant that contains many beneficial ginsenosides with diverse pharmacological effects.24(R)-pseudoginsenoside F_(11)is specific to P.quinquefolium,a useful biomarker for distinguishing this species from other related plants.However,because of its nonconjugated property and the complexity of existing detection methods,this biomarker cannot be used as the identification standard.We herein present a stable 24(R)-pseudoginsenoside F_(11)fingerprint spectrum in the terahertz band,thereby proving that F_(11)can be detected and quantitatively analyzed via terahertz spectroscopy.We also analyzed the sample by high-performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.The difference between the normalized data for the two analytical methods was less than 5%.Furthermore,P.quinquefolium from different areas and other substances can be clearly distinguished based on these terahertz spectra with a standard principal component analysis.Our method is a fast,simple,and cost-effective approach for identifying and quantitatively analyzing P.quinquefolium.Tianyi Kou Ji Ye Jing Wang Yan Peng Zefang Wang Chenjun Shi Xu Wu Xitian Hu Haihong Chen Ling Zhang Xiaohong Chen Yiming Zhu Huiliang Li Songlin Zhuang 2021Plant Phenomics2021,3,1:1
