1Experimental and mesoscopic investigation on the dynamic properties of coral aggregate concrete in compression显示文摘To investigate the dynamic responses and comprehending the damage mechanism of coral aggregate concrete(CAC) in compression, both the experimental and numerical investigations were implemented in the present work. Firstly, the dynamic mechanical properties of CAC at different strain rates were tested through the Split-Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) tests.Moreover, the effects of concrete strength grade and strain rate on CAC were discussed and analyzed. Subsequently, we developed the three-dimensional(3D) random mesoscale model considering the randomness of aggregate shape, size and distribution at meso-level, which was validated and employed in the numerical simulation of CAC in compression. The results indicate that the splitting failure passing through the coral aggregate is CAC’S primary failure mode. It has been found that the failure pattern, deformation process, and dynamic increasing factor of CAC are associated with both the strain rate and concrete strength grade. 2Maternal supply of cysteamine alleviates oxidative stress and enhances angiogenesis in porcine placenta显示文摘Background:Oxidative stress in placenta is associated with the occurrence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in sow,but there are few satisfactory treatment strategies for these conditions.This study investigated the potential of cysteamine(CS)as an antioxidant protectant for regulating the reproductive performance,redox status,and placental angiogenesis of sows.Methods:The placental oxidative stress status and vascular density of piglets with different birth weights:<1.0 kg(low birth weight,LBW)and 1.4–1.6 kg(normal birth weight,NBW)were evaluated,followed by allotting 84 sows to four treatments(n=21)and feeding them with a basal diet supplemented with 0,100,300,or 500 mg/kg of CS from d 85 of gestation to d 21 of lactation,respectively.Placenta,serum,and colostrum samples of sows or piglets were collected,and the characteristics of sows and piglets were recorded.Furthermore,the in vivo results were validated using porcine vascular endothelial cells(PVECs).Results:Compared with the NBW placentae,the LBW placentae showed increased oxidative damage and were vulnerable to angiogenesis impairment.Particularly,H2O2-induced oxidative stress prompted intracellular reactive oxygen species generation and inhibited the tube formation and migration of PVECs as well as the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-A(VEGF-A)in vitro.However,dietary CS supplementation can alleviate oxidative stress and improve the reproductive performance of sows.Specifically,compared with the control group,dietary 100 mg/kg CS could(1)decrease the stillbirth and invalid rates,and increase both the piglet birth weight in the low yield sows and the placental efficiency;(2)increase glutathione and reduce malondialdehyde in both the serum and the colostrum of sows;(3)increase the levels of total antioxidant capacity and glutathione in LBW placentae;(4)increase the vascular density,the mRNA level of VEGF-A,and the immune-staining intensity of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 in the LBW placentae.Furthermore,the in vitro experiment indicated that CS pre-treatment could significantly reverse the NADPH oxidase 2-ROS-mediated inactivation of signal transducer and activator of transcription-3(Stat3)signaling pathway induced by H2O2 inhibition of the proliferation,tube formation,and migration of PVECs.Meanwhile,inhibition of Stat3 significantly decreased the cell viability,tube formation and the VEGF-A protein level in CS pretreated with H_(2)O_(2)-cultured PVECs.Conclusions:The results indicated that oxidative stress and impaired angiogenesis might contribute to the occurrence of LBW piglets during pregnancy,but CS supplementation at 100 mg/kg during late gestation and lactation of sows could alleviate oxidative stress and enhance angiogenesis in placenta,thereby increasing birth weight in low yield sows and reducing stillbirth rate.The in vitro data showed that the underlying mechanism for the positive effects of CS might be related to the activation of Stat3 in PVECs.Shuangbo Huang Zifang Wu Zihao Huang Xiangyu Hao Longmiao Zhang Chengjun Hu Jianfu Wei Jinping Deng Chengquan Tan 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,1:4
3Tectonic Stress State Changes Before and After the Wenchuan M_s 8.0 Earthquake in the Eastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Crustal tectonic activities are essentially the consequences of the accumulation and release of in situ stress. Therefore, studying the stress state near active faults is important for understanding crustal dynamics and earthquake occurrences. In this paper, using in situ stress measurement results obtained by hydraulic fracturing in the vicinity of the Longmenshan fault zone before and after the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 earthquake and finite element modeling, the variation of stress state before and after the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 earthquake is investigated. The results show that the shear stress, which is proportional to the difference between principal stresses, increases with depth and distance from the active fault in the calm period or after the earthquakes, and tends to approach to the regional stress level outside the zone influenced by the fault. This distribution appears to gradually reverse with time and the change of fault properties such as frictional strength. With an increase in friction coefficient, low stress areas are reduced and areas with increased stress accumulation are more obvious near the fault. In sections of the fault with high frictional strengths, in situ stress clearly increases in the fault. Stress accumulates more rapidly in the fault zone relative to the surrounding areas, eventually leading to a stress field that peaks at the fault zone. 4Influence of Surrounding Structures upon the Aerodynamic and Acoustic Performance of the Outdoor Unit of a Split Air-Conditioner显示文摘DC-inverter split air-conditioner is widely used in Chinese homes as a result of its high-efficiency and energy-saving. Recently, the researches on its outdoor unit have focused on the influence of surrounding structures upon the aerodynamic and acoustic performance, however they are only limited to the influence of a few parameters on the performance, and practical design of the unit requires more detailed parametric analysis. Three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD) and computational aerodynamic acoustics(CAA) simulation based on FLUENT solver is used to study the influence of surrounding structures upon the aforementioned properties of the unit. The flow rate and sound pressure level are predicted for different rotating speed, and agree well with the experimental results. The parametric influence of three main surrounding structures(i.e. the heat sink, the bell-mouth type shroud and the outlet grille) upon the aerodynamic performance of the unit is analyzed thoroughly. The results demonstrate that the tip vortex plays a major role in the flow fields near the blade tip and has a great effect on the flow field of the unit. The inlet ring's size and throat's depth of the bell-mouth type shroud, and the through-flow area and configuration of upwind and downwind sections of the outlet grille are the most important factors that affect the aerodynamic performance of the unit. Furthermore, two improved schemes against the existing prototype of the unit are developed, which both can significantly increase the flow rate more than 6 %(i.e. 100 m3·h^(-1)) at given rotating speeds. The inevitable increase of flow noise level when flow rate is increased and the advantage of keeping a lower rotating speed are also discussed. 5Towards High-Energy and Anti-Self-Discharge Zn-Ion Hybrid Supercapacitors with New Understanding of the Electrochemistry显示文摘Aqueous Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSs)are increasingly being studied as a novel electrochemical energy storage system with prominent electrochemical performance,high safety and low cost.Herein,high-energy and anti-self-discharge ZHSs are realized based on the fibrous carbon cathodes with hierarchically porous surface and O/N heteroatom functional groups.Hierarchically porous surface of the fabricated free-standing fibrous carbon cathodes not only provides abundant active sites for divalent ion storage,but also optimizes ion transport kinetics.Consequently,the cathodes show a high gravimetric capacity of 156 mAh g^(−1),superior rate capability(79 mAh g^(−1)with a very short charge/discharge time of 14 s)and exceptional cycling stability.Meanwhile,hierarchical pore structure and suitable surface functional groups of the cathodes endow ZHSs with a high energy density of 127 Wh kg−1,a high power density of 15.3 kW kg^(−1)and good anti-self-discharge performance.Mechanism investigation reveals that ZHS electrochemistry involves cation adsorption/desorption and Zn_(4)SO_(4)(OH)_(6)·5H_(2)O formation/dissolution at low voltage and anion adsorption/desorption at high voltage on carbon cathodes.The roles of these reactions in energy storage of ZHSs are elucidated.This work not only paves a way for high-performance cathode materials of ZHSs,but also provides a deeper understanding of ZHS electrochemistry.Yang Li Wang Yang Wu Yang Ziqi Wang Jianhua Rong Guoxiu Wang Chengjun Xu Feiyu Kang Liubing Dong 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,6:2
6Crustal Stress State and Seismic Hazard along Southwest Segment of the Longmenshan Thrust Belt after Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘The crustal stress and seismic hazard estimation along the southwest segment of the Longmenshan thrust belt after the Wenchuan Earthquake was conducted by hydraulic fracturing for in-situ stress measurements in four boreholes at the Ridi, Wasigou, Dahegou, and Baoxing sites in 2003, 2008, and 2010. The data reveals relatively high crustal stresses in the Kangding region(Ridi, Wasigou, and Dahegou sites) before and after the Wenchuan Earthquake, while the stresses were relatively low in the short time after the earthquake. The crustal stress in the southwest of the Longmenshan thrust belt, especially in the Kangding region, may not have been totally released during the earthquake, and has since increased. Furthermore, the Coulomb failure criterion and Byerlee's law are adopted to analyzed in-situ stress data and its implications for fault activity along the southwest segment. The magnitudes of in-situ stresses are still close to or exceed the expected lower bound for fault activity, revealing that the studied region is likely to be active in the future. 8Simultaneous 3D Visualization of the Microvascular and Neural Network in Mouse Spinal Cord Using Synchrotron Radiation Micro-Computed Tomography显示文摘Effective methods for visualizing neurovascular morphology are essential for understanding the normal spinal cord and the morphological alterations associated with diseases.However,ideal techniques for simultaneously imaging neurovascular structure in a broad region of a specimen are still lacking.In this study,we combined Golgi staining with angiography and synchrotron radiation micro-computed tomography(SRμCT)to visualize the 3D neurovascular network in the mouse spinal cord.Using our method,the 3D neurons,nerve fibers,and vasculature in a broad region could be visualized in the same image at cellular resolution without destructive sectioning.Besides,we found that the 3D morphology of neurons,nerve fiber tracts,and vasculature visualized by SRjiCT were highly consistent with that visualized using the histological method.Moreover,the 3D neurovascular structure could be quantitatively evaluated by the combined methodology.The method shown here will be useful in fundamental neuroscience studies.Liyuan Jiang Chengjun Li Miao Li Xianzhen Yin Handing Wu Chunyue Duan Yong Cao Hongbin Lu Jianzhong Hu 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,10:1

12Rapid evolution of T2/S-RNase genes in Fragaria linked to multiple transitions from self-incompatibility to self-compatibility显示文摘The T2/RNase gene family is widespread in eukaryotes,and particular members of this family play critical roles in the gametophytic self-incompatibility(GSI) system in plants.Wild diploid strawberry(Fragaria)species have diversified their sexual systems via self-incompatible and self-compatible traits,yet how these traits evolved in Fragaria remains elusive.By integrating the published and de novo assembled genomes and the newly generated RNA-seq data,members of the RNase T2 gene family were systematically identified in six Fragaria species,including three self-incompatible species(Fragaria nipponica,Fragaria nubicola,and Fragaria viridis) and three self-compatible species(Fragaria nilgerrensis,Fragaria vesca,and Fragaria iinumae).In total,115 RNase T2 genes were identified in the six Fragaria genomes and can be classified into three classes(Ⅰ-Ⅲ) according to phylogenetic analysis.The identified RNase T2 genes could be divided into 22 homologous gene sets according to amino acid sequence similarity and phylogenetic and syntenic relationships.We found that extensive gene loss and pseudogenization coupled with small-scale duplications mainly accounted for variations in the RNase T2 gene numbers in Fragaria.Multiple copies of homologous genes were mainly generated from tandem and segmental duplication events.Furthermore,we newly identified five S-RNase genes in three self-incompatible Fragaria genomes,including two in F.nipponica,two in F.viridis,and one in F.nubicola,which fit for typical features of a pistil determinant,including highly pistil-specific expression,highly polymorphic proteins and alkaline isoelectric point(pI),while no S-RNase genes were found in all three selfcompatible Fragaria species.Surprisingly,these T2/S-RNase genes contain at least one large intron(>10 kb).This study revealed that the rapid evolution of T2/S-RNase genes within the Fragaria genus could be associated with its sexual mode,and repeated evolution of the self-compatible traits in Fragaria was convergent via losses of S-RNase.Wu Chen Hong Wan Fang Liu Haiyuan Du Chengjun Zhang Weishu Fan Andan Zhu 2023Plant Diversity2023,45,2:1
13Photon-counting distributed free-space spectroscopy显示文摘Spectroscopy is a well-established nonintrusive tool that has played an important role in identifying and quantifying substances,from quantum descriptions to chemical and biomedical diagnostics.Challenges exist in accurate spectrum analysis in free space,which hinders us from understanding the composition of multiple gases and the chemical processes in the atmosphere.A photon-counting distributed free-space spectroscopy is proposed and demonstrated using lidar technique,incorporating a comb-referenced frequency-scanning laser and a superconducting nanowire single-photon detector.It is suitable for remote spectrum analysis with a range resolution over a wide band.As an example,a continuous field experiment is carried out over 72 h to obtain the spectra of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))and semi-heavy water(HDO,isotopic water vapor)in 6 km,with a range resolution of 60 m and a time resolution of 10 min.Compared to the methods that obtain only column-integrated spectra over kilometer-scale,the range resolution is improved by 2-3 orders of magnitude in this work.The CO_(2)and HDO concentrations are retrieved from the spectra acquired with uncertainties as low as±1.2%and±14.3%,respectively.This method holds much promise for increasing knowledge of atmospheric environment and chemistry researches,especially in terms of the evolution of complex molecular spectra in open areas.Saifen Yu Zhen Zhang Haiyun Xia Xiankang Dou Tengfei Wu Yihua Hu Manyi Li Mingjia Shangguan Tianwen Wei Lijie Zhao Lu Wang Pu Jiang Chengjun Zhang Lixing You Leigang Tao Jiawei Qiu 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,11:1

16Tetradentate cyclometalated platinum complex enables high-performance near-infrared electroluminescence with excellent device stability显示文摘Due to the high decay rate of the non-radiative transition of long wavelengths, the molecular design of efficient and stable near-infrared(NIR) electroluminescent materials remains a big challenge. Herein,a new tetradentate cyclometalated platinum(II) complex with an N∧C∧C∧N coordinated framework has been developed and used as a dopant for NIR organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs). The complex exhibited a short-lived(0.5–1.5 μs) metal-to-ligand charge transfer(MLCT) excited state in doped and neat films. The resulting NIR OLEDs(λ_(EL)= 730 nm) achieved maximum external quantum efficiency(EQE_(max))of 5.2% and radiance of 74626 m W sr^(-1)m^(–2). Of note, the device exhibited excellent stability with operational lifetime of 119 h for LT_(90). 17Spatial Inhomogeneity of Atmospheric CO_(2) Concentration and Its Uncertainty in CMIP6 Earth System Models显示文摘This paper provides a systematic evaluation of the ability of 12 Earth System Models(ESMs)participating in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)to simulate the spatial inhomogeneity of the atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2))concentration.The multi-model ensemble mean(MME)can reasonably simulate the increasing trend of CO_(2) concentration from 1850 to 2014,compared with the observation data from the Scripps CO_(2) Program and CMIP6 prescribed data,and improves upon the CMIP5 MME CO_(2) concentration(which is overestimated after 1950).The growth rate of CO_(2) concentration in the northern hemisphere(NH)is higher than that in the southern hemisphere(SH),with the highest growth rate in the mid-latitudes of the NH.The MME can also reasonably simulate the seasonal amplitude of CO_(2) concentration,which is larger in the NH than in the SH and grows in amplitude after the 1950s(especially in the NH).Although the results of the MME are reasonable,there is a large spread among ESMs,and the difference between the ESMs increases with time.The MME results show that regions with relatively large CO_(2) concentrations(such as northern Russia,eastern China,Southeast Asia,the eastern United States,northern South America,and southern Africa)have greater seasonal variability and also exhibit a larger inter-model spread.Compared with CMIP5,the CMIP6 MME simulates an average spatial distribution of CO_(2) concentration that is much closer to the site observations,but the CMIP6-inter-model spread is larger.The inter-model differences of the annual means and seasonal cycles of atmospheric CO_(2) concentration are both attributed to the differences in natural sources and sinks of CO_(2) between the simulations.Chengjun XIE Tongwen WU Jie ZHANG Kalli FURTADO Yumeng ZHOU Yanwu ZHANG Fanghua WU Weihua JIE He ZHAO Mengzhe ZHENG 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,11:0
