1Tomato Growth and Organic Acid Changes in Response to Partial Replacement of NO_3^--N by NH_4^+-N显示文摘A hydroponic experiment was conducted to study the effect of partial replacement of NO-3-N by NH4+-N on the seedling growth and organic acid content of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). A completely randomized design was established with three replications and five treatments, i.e., NO-3-N/NH4+-N of 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 and 0/100. Results showed that 25% replacement of NO3--N by NH4+-N significantly (P = 0.05) improved fresh and dry weight, revealing that a proper percentage of NH4+-N was important for tomato nitrogen nutrition. This could increase the plant growth even though tomato was a crop that preferred nitrate nutrition. Also an increase in the proportion of NH4+-N in the nutrient solution led to a significant decrease (P = 0.05) in malate, citrate and fumarate. However, the 25% NH4+-N plus 75% NO3--N treatment had no significant effect (P = 0.05) on the 2-ketoglutarate, succinate or oxalic acid content, showing that only some organic acids in tomato plants were affected. Only pyruvate increased significantly (P = 0.05), and it only increased for 25% and 50% replacement of NO3--N by NH4+-N. 2Hierarchy and nonstationarity in climate systems:Exploring the prediction of complex systems显示文摘The prediction theories for complex systems with a hierarchical structure and their applications to the climate process are a significant and forward-looking field of research. However, up to the present, they are yet not known and understood very well. This paper presents a preliminary theoretical frame for them. As a normal example, the basic behaviors and the dynamic structure of the climate system are discussed in detail. The conclusions indicate that the climate system may be considered as a cascade of several subsystems located in different hierarchies. Such a dynamic structure is just the cause resulting in the nonstationarity. The conclusions also indicate that the main barrier of the climate prediction in theory derives from the contrary between the stationarity hypothesis for the current prediction theory and the nonstationary behavior of the real climate process. In addition, some work is discussed for detecting the nonstationarity in climate and other geophysical data and predicting the nonstationary process developed in recent years. 3An approach to improving the dynamical extended-range(monthly)prediction显示文摘Focusing on common and significant forecast errorsthe zonal mean errors in the numerical prediction model, this report proposes an approach to improving the dynamical extended-range (monthly) prediction. Firstly, the monthly pentad-mean nonlinear dynamical regional predic-tion model of the zonal-mean height based on a large num-ber of historical data is constituted by employing the recon-struction phase space theory and the spatio-temporal series predictive method. The zonal height thus produced is trans-formed to its counterpart in the numerical model and fur-ther used to revise the numerical model prediction during the integration process. In this way, the two different kinds of prediction are combined. 4A review of recent researches on Bunsen reaction for hydrogen production via S–I water and H2S splitting cycles显示文摘The Bunsen reaction is the center reaction for both the sulfur–iodine water splitting cycle for hydrogen production and the novel hydrogen sulfide splitting cycle for hydrogen and sulfuric acid production from the sulfur-containing gases.This paper reviews the research progress of the Bunsen reaction in recent 10–15 years.Researches were initially focused on the optimization of the operating conditions of the conventional Bunsen reaction requiring excessive water and iodine to improve the products separation efficiency and to avoid the side reactions and iodine vapor deposition.Alternative methods including electrochemical methods,precipitation methods,and non-aqueous solvent methods had their respective advantages,but still faced challenges.In development of the technology of H2S splitting cycle,dissolving iodine in toluene solvent could render the Bunsen reaction to occur with the flowable I2 stream at ambient temperature such that the side reactions and iodine vaporization can be avoided and the corrosion hazard lessened.It also prevented the Bunsen reaction from using excessive iodine and water.The products from the Bunsen reaction including HI,H2SO4,H2O,and toluene could be directly electrolyzed.Ke Zhang Weiren Bao Liping Chang Hui Wangg 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,6:7
