| 1 | Investigations on an Axial Flow Fan Stage subjected to Circumferential Inlet Flow Distortion and Swirl显示文摘The combined effects of swirl and circumferential inlet flow distortion on the flow field of an axial flow fan stage are reported in this paper. The study involves measurements at the inlet of the rotor and exit of the rotor and stator at design and off design now conditions. The study indicated that at the design flow condition, swirl had caused deterioration of the performance in addition to that caused by distortfou. Pressure rise imparted in the distortion zone is higher than in the free zone. The attenuation of distortion is high in the presence of swirl. | M. Govardhan K. | 2 | An overview on importance, synthetic strategies and studies of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW)显示文摘2,4,6,8,10,12-Hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW), commonly called as CL-20, is a high energy and high density material of keen interest to both commercial and scientific worlds due to its greater insensitivity(reduced sensitivity) along with a positive high heat of formation, which is due to the azanitro groups attached to the skeleton of HNIW and its highly strained cage structure. It plays a remarkable role in modification and replacement of most of the propellant(gun and rocket) preparations. In this report we present the comparative strategies involved in the syntheses of HNIW with respect to economical and environmental aspects. Various methods reported in the literature on the purification of the crude HNIW(α-HNIW) to obtain ε-form of HNIW(high dense/more potential) are consolidated. Understanding of the structure, morphology, energetics, thermal behavior and their modification to meet the applicability(decreased impact sensitivity) determines the industrial application of HNIW. A compilation of the available literature on the aforementioned characteristic properties for obtaining a value added ε-HNIW is discussed here. | 5 | Flexible thermoelectric generator with liquid metal interconnects and low thermal conductivity silicone filler显示文摘Harvesting body heat using thermoelectricity provides a promising path to realizing self-powered,wearable electronics that can achieve continuous,long-term,uninterrupted health monitoring.This paper reports a flexible thermoelectric generator(TEG)that provides efficient conversion of body heat to electrical energy.The device relies on a low thermal conductivity aerogel–silicone composite that secures and thermally isolates the individual semiconductor elements that are connected in series using stretchable eutectic gallium-indium(EGaIn)liquid metal interconnects.The composite consists of aerogel particulates mixed into polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)providing as much as 50%reduction in the thermal conductivity of the silicone elastomer.Worn on the wrist,the flexible TEGs present output power density figures approaching 35μWcm^(−2)at an air velocity of 1.2 ms^(−1),equivalent to walking speed.The results suggest that these flexible TEGs can serve as the main energy source for low-power wearable electronics. | Viswanath Padmanabhan Ramesh Yasaman Sargolzaeiaval Taylor Neumann Veena Misra Daryoosh Vashaee Michael D.Dickey Mehmet C.Ozturk | 2021 | npj Flexible Electronics2021,5,1: | 3 |

| 7 | Clinical outcomes of combined flow-pressure drop measurements using newly developed diagnostic endpoint:Pressure drop coefficient in patients with coronary artery dysfunction显示文摘AIM:To combine pressure and flow parameter, pressure drop coefficient(CDP) will result in better clinical outcomes in comparison to the fractional flow reserve(FFR) group. METHODS:To test this hypothesis, a comparison was made between the FFR < 0.75 and CDP > 27.9 groups in this study, for the major adverse cardiac events [major adverse cardiac events(MACE): Primary outcome] and patients’ quality of life(secondary outcome). Further, a comparison was also made between the survival curves for the FFR < 0.75 and CDP > 27.9 groups. Two-tailed χ~2 test proportions were performed for the comparison of primary and secondary outcomes. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was performed to compare the survival curves of FFR < 0.75 and CDP > 27.9 groups(MedcalcV10.2, Mariakerke, Belgium). Results were considered statistically significant for P < 0.05. RESULTS: The primary outcomes(%MACE) in the FFR < 0.75 group(20%, 4 out of 20) was not statistically different(P = 0.24) from the %MACE occurring in CDP > 27.9 group(8.57%, 2 out of 35). Noteworthy is the reduction in the %MACE in the CDP > 27.9 group, in comparison to the FFR < 0.75 group. Further, the secondary outcomes were not statistically significant between the FFR < 0.75 and CDP > 27.9 groups. Survival analysis results suggest that the survival time for the CDP > 27.9 group(n = 35) is significantly higher(P = 0.048) in comparison to the survival time for the FFR < 0.75 group(n = 20). The results remained similar for a FFR = 0.80 cut-off.
