| 1 | Characterizing a large outbreak of dengue fever in Guangdong Province, China显示文摘Background:Dengue cases have been reported each year for the past 25 years in Guangdong Province,China with a recorded historical peak in 2014.This study aims to describe the epidemiological characteristics of this large outbreak in order to better understand its epidemic factors and to inform control strategies.Methods:Data for clinically diagnosed and laboratory-confirmed dengue fever cases in 2014 were extracted from the China Notifiable Infectious Disease Reporting System.We analyzed the incidence and characteristics of imported and indigenous cases in terms of population,temporal and spatial distributions.Results:A total of 45224 dengue fever cases and 6 deaths were notified in Guangdong Province in 2014,with an incidence of 47.3 per 100000 people.The elderly(65+years)represented 11.7%of total indigenous cases with the highest incidence(72.3 per 100000).Household workers and the unemployed accounted for 23.1%of indigenous cases.The majority of indigenous cases occurred in the 37th to 44th week of 2014(September and October)and almost all(20 of 21)prefecture-level cities in Guangdong were affected.Compared to the non-Pearl River Delta Region,the Pearl River Delta Region accounted for the majority of dengue cases and reported cases earlier in 2014.Dengue virus serotypes 1(DENV-1),2(DENV-2)and 3(DENV-3)were detected and DENV-1 was predominant(88.4%).Conclusions:Dengue fever is a serious public health problem and is emerging as a continuous threat in Guangdong Province.There is an urgent need to enhance dengue surveillance and control,especially for the high-risk populations in high-risk areas. | Jian-Peng Xiao Jian-Feng He Ai-Ping Deng Hua-Liang Lin Tie Song Zhi-Qiang Peng Xiao-Cheng Wu Tao Liu Zhi-Hao Li Shannon Rutherford Wei-Lin Zeng Xing Li Wen-Jun Ma Yong-Hui Zhang | 2016 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016，5，1： | 13 |

| 3 | Breast Cancer Subtypes and Survival in Chinese Women with Operable Primary Breast Cancer显示文摘Objective: To investigate the associations between the different breast cancer subtypes and survival in Chinese women with operable primary breast cancer. Methods: A total of 1538 Chinese women with operable primary breast cancer were analyzed in this study, the median follow-up was 77 months. Estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and HER2 status were available for these patients. Results: Luminal A (ER+ and/or PR+, HER2-) had a favorable disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) compared with other subtypes in the entire cohort. Using the luminal A as a reference, among the patients with lymph node positive disease, HER2+ (ER-, PR-, HER2+) had the worst DFS (hazard ratio, HR=1.80, 95% CI 1.11 to 2.91, P=0.017) and luminal B (ER+ and/or PR+, HER2+) had the worst OS (HR=2.27, 95% CI 1.50 to 3.45, P<0.001); among the patients with lymph node negative disease, triple-negative (ER-, PR-, HER2-) had the worst DFS (HR=2.21, 95% CI 1.43 to 3.41, P<0.001), whereas no significant difference in DFS between HER2+ and luminal B or luminal A was observed. | 10 | Association between HER2 status and response to neoadjuvant anthracycline followed by paclitaxel plus carboplatin chemotherapy without trastuzumab in breast cancer显示文摘Background:We recently showed HER2-positive breast cancers are less likely to respond to neoadjuvant anthracycline chemotherapy.Here,we investigated whether HER2-positive breast cancers responded to sequential neoadjuvant anthracycline followed by paclitaxel plus carboplatin regimen in the absence of trastuzumab.Methods:Women(n=372) with operable primary breast cancer initially received two cycles of neoadjuvant anthracyclines,the clinical tumor response was assessed,then patients were received four cycles of paclitaxel plus carboplatin regimen.All the patients did not received trastuzumab treatment in the neoadjuvant setting.HER2 status was determined by immunohistochemistry and/or by fluorescence in situ hybridization in corebiopsy breast cancer tissue obtained before the neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Results:Eighteen percent(67/372) of patients achieved a pathologic complete response(p CR) in their breast.HER2-positive tumors had a significant higher p CR rate than HER2-negative tumors(33.0% versus 13.5%,P<0.001) in this cohort of 372 patients,and positive HER2 status remained an independent favorable predictor of p CR in a multivariate analysis [odds ratio(OR),2.26;95% confidence interval(CI),1.18 to 4.36,P=0.015].Furthermore,patients who responded to initial anthracycline regimens were more likely to respond to paclitaxel plus carboplatin than patients who did not(p CR,27.2% versus 14.6%,P=0.005).Patients with HER2-positive tumors exhibited a significant higher p CR rate than did patients with HER2-negative tumors in both anthracycline response group(40.5% versus 20.0%,P=0.025) and anthracycline non-response group(28.3% versus 11.3%,P=0.002).Conclusions:Under the circumstance of no trastuzumab treatment,women with HER2-positive cancers derive a large benefit from paclitaxel-carboplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy. | Lu Yao Juan Zhang Yiqiang Liu Tao Ouyang Jinfeng Li Tianfeng Wang Zhaoqing Fan Tie Fan Benyao Lin Yuntao Xie | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015，27，6： | 3 |
| 11 | Prevention of Osteopenia and Dyslipidemia in Rats after Ovariectomy with Combined Aspirin and Low-dose Diethylstilbestrol显示文摘Objective To study whether effect of aspirin plus low-dose diethylstilbestrol is more effective and safer than high diethylstilbestrol dose alone on prevention of ovariectomy-induced osteopenia and dyslipidemia.Methods Thirty-eight 4-month-old female SD rats were divided into baseline(BAS)group(n=6),sham operation group(n=8)and ovariectomy(OVX)group(n=24).The OVX group was further divided into vehicle treatment group(n=8),diethylstilbestrol(30 μg/kg·d)treatment group(OVX+D30 group,n=8),and aspirin(9 mg/kg·d)plus diethylstilbestrol(10 μg/kg·d)treatment group(OVX+A-D10 group,n=8).Their left tibiae were collected for the bone histomorphometric analysis in undecalcified sections.Left femurs were collected for the bone mineral density measurement.Results The body weight and serum cholesterol were increased,while uterine weight and cancellous bone mass were decreased in OVX rats compared with the SHAM group.Cancellous bone mass was significantly increased,while body weight and bone resorption parameters were decreased in both A-D10 and D30 treatment group compared with OVX group.The rats treated with A-D10 showed significantly increased in bone formation parameters and decreased in serum triglyceride compared with the D30-treated rats.Conclusion Aspirin plus low-dose diethylstilbestrol can effectively prevent osteopenia by reducing bone resorption,and is thus a better treatment modality for preventing dyslipidemia than high-dose diethylstilbestrol alone. | LIN Si En HUANG Jian Ping WU Ling Zhi WU Tie CUI Liao | 2013 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013，26，4： | 3 |
| 12 | Human μ-opioid receptor overexpressed in Sf9 insect cells functionally coupled to endogenous G_(i/o) proteins显示文摘Human μ-opioid receptor (HμOR) with a tag of six consecutive histidines at its carboxyl terminus had been expressed in recombinant baculovirus infected Sf9 insect cells.The maximal binding capacity for the [3H] diprenorphine and [3H]ohmefentanyl (Ohm) were 9.1± 0.7 and 6.52±0.23 nmol/g protein, respectively. The [3H] diprenorphine or [3H] Ohm binding to the receptor expressed in Sf9 cells was strongly inhibited by μ-selective agonists [D-Ala2], N-methylPhe4, glyol5]enkephalin (DAGO), Ohm, and morphine, but neither by δ nor by K selective agonist. Na+ (100 mM) and GTP (50 μM) could reduce HμOR agonists etorphine and Ohm affinity binding to the overexpressed HμOR. μ-selective agonists DAGO and Ohm effectively stimulated [35S]GTPγS binding (EC50 = 2.7nM and 6.9 nM) and inhibited forskolin- stimulated cAMP accumulation (IC50 = 0.9 nM and 0.3 nM). The agonist-dependent effects could be blocked by opioid antagonist naloxone or by pretreatment of cells with pertussis toxin (PTX). | 13 | Bilateral and symmetric C1-C2 dumbbell ganglioneuromas associated with neurofibromatosis type 1: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Ganglioneuroma(GN) is a rare and benign tumor that originates from autonomic nervous system ganglion cells. The most frequently involved sites are the posterior mediastinum, the abdominal cavity, and the retroperitoneal space. It rarely occurs in the cervical area, compressing the spinal cord. Neurofibromatosis type 1(NF-1) is an autosomal dominant inheritance disorder, whose prevalence rate approximates one per 3000.CASE SUMMARY We report an extremely rare case of bilateral and symmetric dumbbell GNs of the cervical spine with NF-1. A 27-year-old man with NF-1 presented with a one-year history of gradually progressive right upper extremity weakness and numbness in both hands. Magnetic resonance imaging showed bilateral and symmetric dumbbell lesions at the C1-C2 levels compressing the spinal cord. We performed total resection of bilateral tumors, and the postoperative histopathological diagnosis of the resected mass was GN. After operation, the preoperative symptoms were gradually relieved without complications. To our knowledge,this is the sixth report of cervical bilateral dumbbell GNs.CONCLUSION In some cases, cervical bilateral dumbbell GNs could be associated with NF-1.The exact diagnosis cannot be obtained before operation, and pathological outcome is the current gold standard. | 17 | High-performance Li-ion capacitor based on black-TiO2-x/graphene aerogel anode and biomass-derived microporous carbon cathode显示文摘Lithium-ion capacitor (LIC) has been regarded as a promising energy storage system with high powder density and high energy density.However,the kinetic mismatch between the anode and the cathode is a major issue to be solved.Here we report a high-performance asymmetric LIC based on oxygen-deficient black-TiO2-x/graphene (B-TiO2-x/G) aerogel anode and biomass derived microporous carbon cathode.Through a facile one-pot hydrothermal process,graphene nanosheets and oxygen-vacancy-rich porous B-TiO2-x/G nanosheets were self-assembled into three-dimensional (3D) interconnected B-TiO2-x/G aerogel.Owing to the rich active sites,high conductivity and fast kinetics,the B-TiO2-x/G aerogel exhibits remarkable reversible capacity,high rate capability and long cycle life when used as anode material for lithium ion storage.Moreover,density functional theory (DFT) calculation reveals that the incorporation of graphene nanosheets can reduce the energy barrier of Li^+ diffusion in B-TiO2-x.The asymmetric LIC based on B-TiO2-x/G aerogel anode and naturally-abundant pine-needles derived microporous carbon (MPC) cathode work well within a large voltage window (1.0-4.0 V),and can deliver high energy density (166.4 Wh·kg^-1 at 200 mA·g^-1),and high power density (7.9 kW·kg^-1 at 17.1 Wh·kg^-1).Moreover,the LIC shows a high capacitance retention of 87% after 3,000cycles at 2,000 mA·g^-1.The outstanding electrochemical performances indicate that the rationally-designed LICs have promising prospect to serve as advanced fast-charging energy storage devices. | Guoyin Zhu Lianbo Ma Huinan Lin Peiyang Zhao Lei Wang Yi Hu Renpeng Chen Tao Chen Yanrong Wang Zuoxiu Tie Zhong Jin | 2019 | Nano Research2019，12，7： | 2 |

| 19 | Loss-of-function mutation of rice SLAC7 decreases chloroplast stability and induces a photoprotection mechanism in rice显示文摘Plants absorb sunlight to power the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis, which can potentially damage the photosynthetic machinery. However, the mechanism that protects chloroplasts from the damage remains unclear. In this work, we demonstrated that rice(Oryza sativa L.) SLAC7 is a generally expressed membrane protein. Lossof-function of SLAC7 caused continuous damage to the chloroplasts of mutant leaves under normal light conditions.Ion leakage indicators related to leaf damage such as H_2O_2 and abscisic acid levels were significantly higher in slac7-1 than in the wild type. Consistently, the photosynthesis ef ficiency and Fv/Fm ratio of slac7-1 were significantly decreased(similar to photoinhibition). In response to chloroplast damage, slac7-1 altered its leaf morphology(curled or fused leaf) by the synergy between plant hormones and transcriptional factors to decrease the absorption of light, suggesting that a photoprotection mechanism for chloroplast damage was activated in slac7-1. When grown in dark conditions, slac7-1 displayed a normal phenotype. SLAC7 under the control of the At SLAC1 promoter could partially complement the phenotypes of Arabidopsis slac1 mutants, indicating a partia conservation of SLAC protein functions.
