| 1 | The beneficial effects of intermittent fasting:an update on mechanism, and the role of circadian rhythm and gut microbiota显示文摘Importance:There is accumulating evidence that intermittent fasting(IF)is connected to improved health condition and longevity time-restricted feeding(TRF)is the most recognized and extensively studied model of IF.Objective:To investigate the underlying mechanism of pleiotropic benefits of IF and hint the most advantageous feeding pattern for humans.Evidence review:We searched MEDLINE,EMBASE,Cochrane Library and Google Scholar by 2020 April for publications on IF or TRF and their mechanisms.Studies include animal models and human cohorts.Findings:One important mechanism is that IF allows certain period of fasting time,in which our bodies activate pathways of repair and rejuvenation. Moreover, the advantages of IF,especially TRF over total caloric restriction(CR)provided bases for various animal and human studies which suggested that the feeding-fasting rhythm stimulates the fluctuation of our gut microbiota and a series of subsequent molecular alterations, which in turn restored a healthier circadian clock that resembled our inherent clock formed throughout millions of years of homo sapiens history. Conclusions and Relevance for Reviews:Complete understanding of the mechanism leading to the beneficial effects of IF paves the way for tailored dietary regimen to combat a wide range of diseases and ill health conditions. | Dandan Hu Zhibo Xie Yuqian Ye Suhad Bahijri Minshan Chen | 2020 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2020,9,5: | 5 |

| 6 | Effects of jute fibre content on the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of the composites in structural applications显示文摘Due to notable characteristics, sustainability concept and environmental issues, hybridisation natural with synthetic fibres to fabricate composites have been rapidly gaining market share in different applications(structural, military, aerospace and automotive vehicles).Compression, tension and fatigue tests of various stacking sequences of plain jute/carbon reinforced(PVB)polyvinyl butyral by hot hydraulic press technique were experimentally conducted.Six types of fabricated composites with various constituents(jute, carbon and their hybrids)were fabricated and tested.Notably, fatigue lifetime of hybrids increases with increasing the carbon content relative to the jute fibre content. On the other hand,Jute composites possess high strain compared to pure carbon composite, which gives an overall improvement in mechanical behaviours.Interestingly,H1 hybrid with Carbon/Jute/Carbon sequences offers similar fatigue stiffness behaviour of H3 hybrid with Carbon/Jute/Carbon/Jute sequences when subjected to cyclic loading.Carbon composite(C)exhibited the highest fatigue resistance, whiles jute composite(J)possessed the highest strain and semi brittle trends in both mechanical and fatigue performance. Results concluded that plain jute fibres could partially replace high-cost synthetic carbon fibres to produce more eco-friendly hybrids to be utilised in different composites industries. | Suhad D.Salman | 2020 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2020,16,6: | 1 |

| 8 | Influence of Recycling Waste Glass as Fine Aggregate on the Concrete Properties显示文摘Recent years have witnessed an increase in the quantity of waste glass(WG)across the globe.Replacing the fine aggregate with WG is one of the steps toward preserving the natural resources of the environment and creating low-cost concrete. The present study is concerned with replacing fine aggregates with glass powder(GP)at(0%,15%,30%,and 50%).It has studied the fresh and hardened properties(compressive strength, tensile strength, hardened density, and slump)for all the mentioned percent replacements. The findings have shown that all mixtures containing GP gave acceptable slump results within the design limits(2–5 cm)according to ACI standard 211.1.It has been observed that increasing the proportion of GP led to a decrease in the weight of concrete.Lastly, replacing GP with sand by 30%has led to an increase in the compressive strength by about 2.4%and 12.45%,and the tensile strength by about 2.5%and 26.54%at 7-and 28-d,respectively in comparison to normal concrete. | Rafal A.Hadi Suhad M.Abd Hadee Mohammed Najm Shaker Qaidi Moutaz Mustafa A.Eldirderi Khaled Mohamed Khedher | 2023 | Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,6: | 0 |

| 11 | Naturally Occurring Terpenes:A Promising Class of Organic Molecules to Address Influenza Pandemics显示文摘Since the olden times, infectious diseases have largely affected human existence. The newly emerged infections are excessively caused by viruses that are largely associated with mammal reservoirs. The casualties of these emergencies are significantly influenced by the way human beings interact with the reservoirs, especially the animal ones.In our review we will consider the evolutionary and the ecological scales of such infections and their consequences on the public health, with a focus on the pathogenic influenza A virus. The nutraceutical properties of fungal and plant terpene-like molecules will be linked to their ability to lessen the symptoms of viral infections and shed light on their potential use in the development of new drugs.New challenging methods in antiviral discovery will also be discussed in this review. The authors believe that pharmacognosy is the“wave of future pharmaceuticals”,as it can be continually produced and scaled up under ecofriendly requirements.Further diagnostic methods and strategies however are required to standardise those naturally occurring resources. | Suhad A.A.Al-Salihi Fabrizio Alberti | 2021 | Natural Products and Bioprospecting2021,11,4: | 0 |
