Spatial and temporal change patterns of net primary productivity and its response to climate change in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau of China from 2000 to 2015显示文摘The vegetation ecosystem of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau in China, considered to be the′′natural laboratory′′of climate change in the world, has undergone profound changes under the stress of global change.Herein,we analyzed and discussed the spatial-temporal change patterns and the driving mechanisms of net primary productivity(NPP)in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau from 2000 to 2015 based on the gravity center and correlation coefficient models.Subsequently,we quantitatively distinguished the relative effects of climate change(such as precipitation, temperature and evapotranspiration)and human activities(such as grazing and ecological construction)on the NPP changes using scenario analysis and Miami model based on the MOD17A3 and meteorological data. The average annual NPP in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau showed a decreasing trend from the southeast to the northwest during 2000–2015.With respect to the inter-annual changes, the average annual NPP exhibited a fluctuating upward trend from 2000 to 2015,with a steep increase observed in 2005 and a high fluctuation observed from 2005 to 2015.In the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, the regions with the increase in NPP(change rate higher than 10%)were mainly concentrated in the Three-River Source Region, the northern Hengduan Mountains, the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, and the eastern parts of the North Tibet Plateau, whereas the regions with the decrease in NPP(change rate lower than–10%)were mainly concentrated in the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the Ali Plateau. The gravity center of NPP in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau has moved southwestward during 2000–2015,indicating that the increment and growth rate of NPP in the southwestern part is greater than those of NPP in the northeastern part.Further,a significant correlation was observed between NPP and climate factors in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. The regions exhibiting a significant correlation between NPP and precipitation were mainly located in the central and eastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, and the regions exhibiting a significant correlation between NPP and temperature were mainly located in the southern and eastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau.Furthermore, the relative effects of climate change and human activities on the NPP changes in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau exhibited significant spatial differences in three types of zones,i.e.,the climate change-dominant zone, the human activity-dominant zone, and the climate change and human activity interaction zone. These research results can provide theoretical and methodological supports to reveal the driving mechanisms of the regional ecosystems to the global change in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. | GUO Bing ZANG Wenqian YANG Fei HAN Baomin CHEN Shuting LIU Yue YANG Xiao HE Tianli CHEN Xi LIU Chunting GONG Rui | 2020 | Journal of Arid Land2020,12,1: | 12
Training for smart manufacturing using a mobile robot-based production line显示文摘Practice experimentation that integrates the manufacturing processes and cutting-edge technologies of smart manufacturing (SM) is essential for future academic and applied engineering personnel. The broadening efficacy of hands-on experience in SM engineering education has been manifested. In this regard, a reference practical system is proposed in this study for hands-on training in SM crucial advancements. The system constructs a mobile robot-based production line (MRPL) to increase participants’ interest in theoretical learning and professional skills. The MRPL-based reference system includes the comprehensive principles and processes involved in modern SM factories from warehousing to logistics, processing, and testing. With key features of modularity, integrability, customizability, and open architecture, this system has a threefold objective. First, it is an interdisciplinary subject that enables students to translate classroom learning into authentic practices, thus facilitating knowledge synthesis and training involvements. Second, it offers effective support to cultivate the attributions and behavioral competencies of SM talents, such as perseverance, adaptability, and cooperation. Third, it promotes students’ capacities for critical thinking and problem solving so that they can deal with the difficulties that physical systems have and motivates them to pursue careers with new syllabi, functions, and process techno-logies. The received positive evaluations and assessments confirm that this MRPL-based reference system is beneficial for modern SM talent training in higher engineering education. | Shuting WANG Liquan JIANG Jie MENG Yuanlong XIE Han DING | 2021 | Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2021,16,2: | 4
A new multi-scale analytic algorithm for edge extraction of strawberry leaf images in natural light显示文摘In this study,a new algorithm was proposed for edge extraction of greenhouse strawberry leaf in natural light based on the 4-level daubechies 5(‘db5’)wavelet decomposition. This algorithm adopts different segmentation methods for the reconstructed images at different scales to erase the external background and the internal leaf vein interference. There were two advantages of this method. One was that it can provide the abstraction from different spaces to express a same image. The other one was that some image features are hard to be acquired in some scale spaces, while the features are easy to be obtained in other scale spaces. In this image process methods, the Otsu threshold segmentation was to obtain the binary image areas, and the Canny segmentation is to obtain the accurate gradient edges, then the morphological methods and the logical calculus methods were to avoid the fragments inside the leaf area and the adhesions outside the leaf area.Since the strawberry leaf images were different respectively, and the greenhouse optical radiation and reflection may cause local non-uniform illumination of leaf image, the pseudo canny edges of leaf image ere divided into three categories in this research. The first category was the external pseudo canny edges area of the first layer reconstructed leaf image, the second category was the internal pseudo canny edges area in highlight of the third layer reconstructed leaf image, the third category was the internal pseudo canny edges area of significantly different grayscale of the third layer reconstructed leaf image. The different processing methods were constructed for the three kinds of different texture features based on the multi scale reconstructed images, then the complete and the accurate leaf edges without interference were obtained. Finally, the multi scale method was simplified and a remarkably effective segmentation algorithm was deduced for the greenhouse strawberry leaf in natural light. | Wang Jianlun Han Yu Zhao Shuangshuang Zheng Hongxu He Can Cui Xiaoying Xu Yun Chen Jianshu Wang Shuting | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,1: | 2

Neuronal photoactivation through secondharmonic near-infrared absorption by gold nanoparticles显示文摘Optical activation of neurons requires genetic manipulation or the use of chemical photoactivators with undesirable side effects. As a solution to these disadvantages, here,we demonstrate optically evoked neuronal activity in mouse cortical neurons in acute slices and in vivo by nonlinear excitation of gold nanoparticles. In addition,we use this approach to stimulate individual epitheliomuscular cells and evoke body contractions in Hydra vulgaris. To achieve this,we use a low-power pulsed near-infrared excitation at the double-wavelength of the plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles, which enables optical sectioning and allows for high spatial precision and large penetration depth. The effect is explained by second-harmonic Mie scattering, demonstrating light absorption by a second-order nonlinear process, which enables photothermal stimulation of the cells. Our approach also minimizes photodamage, demonstrating a major advancement towards precise and harmless photoactivation for neuroscience and human therapeutics. | Wieteke D.A.M.de Boer Jan J.Hirtz Antonio Capretti Tom Gregorkiewicz Mercè Izquierdo-Serra Shuting Han Christophe Dupre Yuriy Shymkiv Rafael Yuste | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1: | 1

Spatial patterns of residents’ daily activity space and its influencing factors based on the CatBoost model: A case study of Nanjing, China显示文摘The complexity and fragmentation of people’s activity space are challenging to planners. However, the relevant studies are mostly concerned on the relationship between the social attributes and the activity space of residents in a single or several communities,or the spatiotemporal laws of activity space on a macro scale. The research on the spatial characteristics of residents’activity space still needs to be strengthened. The present study analyses the spatial patterns of residents’activity space based on mobile phone signaling data to fill the gap of previous studies that assessed residents’activity space across small geographic areas.First, according to the spatial scope and direction of an activity space and residents’activity coverage rate, spatial patterns can be divided into three types:compact, extended, and directional extension patterns. The CatBoost method is then used to statistically analyze the influencing variables of spatial patterns, and the order of importance of the following influencing factors is determined:the built environment is more influential than social and economic situations. This study aims to strengthen the understanding of residents’activity space at the spatial level and provide a basis for the optimization of communities with different spatial patterns. | Jiemin Zheng Mingxing Hu Chenghui Wang Shuting Wang Bing Han Hui Wang | 2022 | Frontiers of Architectural Research2022,11,6: | 1
Field-effect at electrical contacts to two-dimensional materials显示文摘The inferior electrical contact to two-dimensional(2D)materials is a critical challenge for their application in post-silicon very large-scale integrated circuits.Electrical contacts were generally related to their resistive effect, quantified as contact resistance. With a systematic investigation, this work demonstrates a capacitive metal-insulator-semiconductor(MIS)field-effect at the electrical contacts to 2D materials:The field-effect depletes or accumulates charge carriers, redistributes the voltage potential, and gives rise to abnormal current saturation and nonlinearity. On one hand, the current saturation hinders the devices’driving ability, which can be eliminated with carefully engineered contact configurations. On the other hand,by introducing the nonlinearity to monolithic analog artificial neural network circuits, the circuits’perception ability can be significantly enhanced,as evidenced using a coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)critical illness prediction model. This work provides a comprehension of the field-effect at the electrical contacts to 2D materials, which is fundamental to the design, simulation, and fabrication of electronics based on 2D materials. | Yao Guo Yan Sun Alvin Tang Ching-Hua Wang Yanqing Zhao Mengmeng Bai Shuting Xu Zheqi Xu Tao Tang Sheng Wang Chenguang Qiu Kang Xu Xubiao Peng Junfeng Han Eric Pop Yang Chai | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,12: | 0
