1Discrete element modeling of ice loads on ship hulls in broken ice fields显示文摘Ice loads on a ship hull affect the safety of the hull structure and the ship maneuvering performance in ice-covered regions.A discrete element method(DEM)is used to simulate the interaction between drifting ice floes and a moving ship.The pancake ice floes are modelled with three-dimensional(3-D)dilated disk elements considering the buoyancy,drag force and additional mass induced by the current.The ship hull is modelled with 3D disks with overlaps.Ice loads on the ship hull are determined through the contact detection between ice floe element and ship hull element and the contact force calculation.The influences of different ice conditions(current velocities and directions,ice thicknesses,concentrations and ice floe sizes)and ship speeds are also examined on the dynamic ice force.The simulated results are compared qualitatively well with the existing field data and other numerical results.This work can be helpful in the ship structure design and the navigation security in ice-covered fields.JI Shunying LI Zilin LI Chunhua SHANG Jie 2013Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,11:12

3Overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins are responsible for the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor in breast cancer that can be reversed by PI3K/mTOR inhibitors显示文摘CDK4/6 inhibitors are the standard treatment in advanced HR+/HER2-breast cancer patients.Nevertheless,the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors is inevitable and the strategies to overcome resistance are of great interest.Here,we show that the palbociclibresistant breast cancer cells expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins because of upregulated protein synthesis.Silencing Cyclin D1 or CDK4 led to cell cycle arrest while silencing Cyclin E1 or CDK2 restored the sensitivity to palbociclib.Furthermore,PI3K/mTOR pathway was hyper-activated in palbociclib-resistant cells,leading to more phosphorylated 4E-BP1 and higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 translation.Targeting PI3K/mTOR pathway with a specific PI3Kαinhibitor(BYL719)or an mTOR inhibitor(everolimus)reduced the protein levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4,and restored the sensitivity to palbociclib.The tumor samples expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1,CDK4,p-AKT and p-4E-BP1 after progression on palbociclib treatment.In conclusion,our findings suggest that overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins lead to the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors are able to restore the sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors,which provides the biomarker and rationale for the combinational use of CDK4/6 inhibitors and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors after CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance in breast cancer.Zijie Cai Jingru Wang Yudong Li Qianfeng Shi Liang Jin Shunying Li Mengdi Zhu Qi Wang Lok Lam Wong Wang Yang Hongna Lai Chang Gong Yandan Yao Yujie Liu Jun Zhang Herui Yao Qiang Liu 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,1:4
4A modified discrete element model for sea ice dynamics显示文摘Considering the discontinuous characteristics of sea ice on various scales,a modified discrete element model(DEM)for sea ice dynamics is developed based on the granular material rheology.In this modified DEM,a soft sea ice particle element is introduced as a self-adjustive particle size function.Each ice particle can be treated as an assembly of ice floes,with its concentration and thickness changing to variable sizes under the conservation of mass.In this model,the contact forces among ice particles are calculated using a viscous-elastic-plastic model,while the maximum shear forces are described with the Mohr-Coulomb friction law.With this modified DEM,the ice flow dynamics is simulated under the drags of wind and current in a channel of various widths.The thicknesses,concentrations and velocities of ice particles are obtained,and then reasonable dynamic process is analyzed.The sea ice dynamic process is also simulated in a vortex wind field.Taking the influence of thermodynamics into account,this modified DEM will be improved in the future work.LI Baohui LI Hai LIU Yu WANG Anliang JI Shunying 2014Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,1:4
5A hybrid Lagrangian-Eulerian numerical model for sea-ice dynamics显示文摘A hybrid Lagrangian-Eulerian(HLE) method is developed for sea ice dynamics,which combines the high computational efficiency of finite difference method(FDM) with the high numerical accuracy of smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH).In this HLE model,the sea ice cover is represented by a group of Lagrangian ice particles with their own thicknesses and concentrations.These ice variables are interpolated to the Eularian gird nodes using the Gaussian interpolation function.The FDM is used to determine the ice velocities at Eulerian grid nodes,and the velocities of Lagrangian ice particles are interpolated from these grid velocities with the Gaussian function also.The thicknesses and concentrations of ice particles are determined based on their new locations.With the HLE numerical model,the ice ridging process in a rectangular basin is simulated,and the simulated results are validated with the analytical solution.This method is also applied to the simulation of sea ice dynamics in a vortex wind field.At last,this HLE model is applied to the Bohai Sea,and the simulated concentration,thickness and velocity match the satellite images and the field observed data well.JI Shunying LI Hai SHEN Hung Tao WANG Ruixue YUE Qianjin 2007Acta Oceanologica Sinica2007,26,5:3

7LIN9 confers paclitaxel resistance in triple negative breast cancer cells by upregulating CCSAP显示文摘LIN9 functions to regulate cell mitotic process.Dysregulation of LIN9 expression is associated with development of human cancers.In this study we assessed the association of LIN9 expression with paclitaxel resistance and clarified the underlying mechanisms for the first time.LIN9 expression in breast cancer tissues was retrieved from publicly available online databases and statistically analyzed.Human TNBC cell lines MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 and their corresponding paclitaxelresistant sublines 231PTX and 468PTX were used to assess the expression of LIN9 by qRT-PCR and Western blot,cell growth by cell counting,cell viability by MTS assay,and cell apoptosis by flow cytometry.The data showed that high LIN9 expression in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy was related to poor overall survival(OS).LIN9 expression was upregulated in paclitaxel-resistant TNBC cells compared to their parental cells.Knockdown of LIN9 or treatment of paclitaxel-resistant TNBC cells with a bromo-and extra-terminal domain inhibitor(BETi)JQ1 which also decreased LIN9 expression enhanced the sensitivity of paclitaxel-resistant TNBC cells to paclitaxel.Mechanistically,decreased LIN9 in resistant cell lines reduced tumor cell viability,promoted multinucleated cells formation and induced tumor cell apoptosis,potentially by directly regulating microtubule-binding protein CCSAP.In conclusion,high LIN9 expression contributed to poor clinical outcomes and paclitaxel resistance in TNBC and BETi,targeting LIN9 expression,could be a reversible drug for PTX-resistant TNBC patients.Hongna Lai Rui Wang Shunying Li Qianfeng Shi Zijie Cai Yudong Li Yujie Liu 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:2
8Paleo-environmental study on the growth of magnetotactic bacteria and precipitation of magnetosomes in Chinese loess-paleosol sequences显示文摘405 samples were collected from L5-S5-L6 in consideration of obvious variations in susceptibility of the geological sections, which are section Xifeng in Gansu Province and section Duanjiapo in Shaanxi Province for study of magnetotactic bacteria (MB) and magnetosomes (MS) in Chinese loess-paleosol sequences. MB in each sample were observed by TEM after being cultured under 8-18℃, room temperature (RT), 25℃, 26℃ and 30℃ conditions. In general, MB are distributed widely in loess-paleosol sequences, fewer in loess layers with predomination of vibriod in shape. However, there are more MB in paleosol layers with morphological varieties such as roddish, vibriod and occasionally approximately coccus. The magnetosomes (MS) in MB of paleosol are usually arranged in chains along the cells. It was also found that MB growth and MS formation are associated with the environment in which MB live. 9Clinical significance of interventional therapeutic bronchoscopy combined with bronchial arterial embolization in the treatment of hypervascular primary airway tumors in children显示文摘Importance Pediatric hypervascular primary airway tumors are progressive,fatal lesions with a low incidence,and the disease is often more serious than that in adults.Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of interventional therapeutic bronchoscopy combined with conservative treatment and bronchial arterial embolization in children with primary airway tumors.Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of four pediatric patients with hypervascular primary airway tumor between 2017 and 2019 at Beijing Children’s Hospital.Results Two patients were low-grade bronchial mucoepidermoid carcinoma,one patient was pleomorphic adenoma,and one was bronchial leiomyoma.Interventional therapeutic bronchoscopy combined with bronchial arterial embolization was used for treatment(all four patients received general anesthesia).The tumors were safely resected in all patients via interventional bronchoscopy.There were no severe complications related to the procedures.All patients were followed up for 5–12 months,and one low-grade bronchial mucoepidermoid carcinoma recurred.Interpretation Interventional therapeutic bronchoscopy combined with bronchial arterial embolization appears to be a safe and efficient therapeutic method associated with less trauma and fewer complications,including no serious adverse events,in children with hypervascular primary airway tumors without bronchus wall infiltration.Haiming Yang Jie Yin Xiaolei Tang Gan Li Huimin Li Shunying Zhao 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,2:2

13Coseismic deformation of the 2021 M_(W)7.4 Maduo earthquake from joint inversion of InSAR, GPS, and teleseismic data显示文摘The M_(W)7.4 Maduo earthquake occurred on 22 May 2021 at 02:04 CST with a large-expansion surface rupture.This earthquake was located in the Bayan Har block at the eastern Tibetan Plateau,where eight earthquakes of M_(S)>7.0 have occurred in the past 25 years.Here,we combined interferometric synthetic aperture radar,GPS,and teleseismic data to study the coseismic slip distribution,fault geometry,and dynamic source rupture process of the Maduo earthquake.We found that the overall coseismic deformation field of the Maduo earthquake is distributed in the NWW-SEE direction along 285°.There was slight bending at the western end and two branches at the eastern end.The maximum slip is located near the eastern bending area on the northern branch of the fault system.The rupture nucleated on the Jiangcuo fault and propagated approximately 160 km along-strike in both the NWW and SEE directions.The characteristic source rupture process of the Maduo earthquake is similar to that of the 2010 M_(W)6.8 Yushu earthquake,indicating that similar earthquakes with large-expansion surface ruptures and small shallow slip deficits can occur on both the internal fault and boundary fault of the Bayan Har block.Chaoya Liu Ling Bai Shunying Hong Yanfang Dong Yong Jiang Hongru Li Huili Zhan Zhiwen Chen 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,5:1
14Arabidopsis under ammonium over-supply: Characteristics of ammonium toxicity in relation to the activity of ammonium transporters显示文摘Because of highly intensive farming practices, crop plants could suffer relatively long terms of ammonium(NH4+) excess stress introduced by overdose application of nitrogen fertilizers. However, the lack of sufficient understanding of plant responses to NH4+excess stress impairs the detection of effective solutions to this problem. The present work examined the biological influences of over-supplied NH4+in Arabidopsis thaliana using two mutant lines each with an ammonium transporter(AMT) gene(AtAMT1;1 or AtAMT1;3) knocked out. Our results indicated that lacking one of the major components of root NH4+-absorbing systems significantly alleviated the toxicity effects on Arabidopsis plants by reducing the accumulation of free NH4+, suggesting that persistent absorption of NH4+through AMT was the main cause of excessive accumulation of free NH4+in the plants. Shading treatment led to a reduced transpirational driving force and thereby constrained the accumulation of toxic NH4+in the plants, finally resulting in higher NH4+-promoted growth in the wild type(WT). Under the shading treatment, the amt1;1 and amt1;3 mutant plants acquired insufficient NH4+and showed reduced growth when compared with the WT. Furthermore, the foliar application of sucrose notably alleviated the inhibitory effects on plant growth in the WT but had no effect on either the amt1;1 or amt1;3 mutant plants, indicating that carbon scarcity associated with NH4+excess is probably a major cause of NH4+toxicity in plants. 20Unilateral Acute Idiopathic Maculopathy显示文摘Purpose: To discuss the fluorescein angiographic features and diagnosis as well as differential diagnosis.Methods : In our hospital, we have found three cases of UAIM, one of them has eccentric maculopathy, another has papillitis, and the third associates with pregnancy. Each has characteristic clinical findings. We have made the diagnosis base on ophthalmoscopy and fluorescein angiography (FA).Results: Three patients with UAIM have been experienced sudden unilateral decreased visual acuity. The significant changes on fundus are retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) thickening with neurosensory retinal detachment with in the macular area. FA showed early patchy hypofluorescence and hyperfluorescence at the level of the RPE.' Bull' s eye appearance may occur in the macular area after the acute stage of the disease. The clinical findings are similar to what the foreign report described. But there were no previous reports in China.
