| 2 | Ground motion spatial variability effects on seismic response control of cable-stayed bridges显示文摘The spatial variability of input ground motion at supporting foundations plays a key role in the structural response of cable-stayed bridges (CSBs); therefore, spatial variation effects should be included in the analysis and design of effective vibration control systems. The control of CSBs represents a challenging and unique problem, with many complexities in modeling, control design and implementation, since the control system should be designed not only to mitigate the dynamic component of the structural response but also to counteract the effects of the pseudo-static component of the response. The spatial variability effects on the feasibility and efficiency of seismic control systems for the vibration control of CSBs are investigated in this paper. The assumption of uniform earthquake motion along the entire bridge may result in quantitative and qualitative differences in seismic response as compared with those produced by uniform motion at all supports. A systematic comparison of passive and active system performance in reducing the structural responses is performed, focusing on the effect of the spatially varying earthquake ground motion on the seismic response of a benchmark CSB model with different control strategies, and demonstrates the importance of accounting for the spatial variability of excitations. | Shehata E. | 3 | Degradation mechanisms of oxytetracycline in the environment显示文摘Over the past few decades,the usage of oxytetracycline(OTC),a kind of antibiotic,has increased with the development of aquaculture and livestock breeding.However,about 30–90%of the applied antibiotics are excreted as the parent compounds into the environment,especially with the application of animal manure to agricultural fields.This large influx of antibiotics may lead to the destruction of the natural microbial ecological community and pose great threats to human beings through the food chain.Therefore,the fate and toxicity of OTC in the environment are issues of great concern.Degradation of OTC,including the non-biodegradation and biodegradation,and the biological toxicity of its degradation products or metabolites,are reviewed in this paper.The non-biodegradation pathways include hydroxylation,quinonization,demethylation,decarbonylation,dehydration and secondary alcohol oxidation.Light(particularly UV light),pH and oxidizing substances play important roles in non-biodegradation.Biodegradation products include 4-epi-OTC(EOTC),2-acetyl-2-decarboxy-amido-OTC(ADOTC),α-apo-OTC andβ-apo-OTC.EOTC is an epimer and identied except for the configuration of the C4 dimethylamino group of OTC.Temperature and pH are the main factors affecting biodegradation pathways of OTC.In addition,this review discusses concerns over the biological toxicity of OTC degradation products. | LI Zhao-jun QI Wei-ning FENG Yao LIU Yuan-wang Ebrahim Shehata LONG Jian | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,9: | 8 |

| 6 | Geochemistry of an Alaskan-type mafic-ultramafic complex in Eastern Desert, Egypt:New insights and constraints on the Neoproterozoic island arc magmatism显示文摘Mikbi intrusion(MI) is a part of the Neoproterozoic Nubian Shield located along the NE-SW trending major fracture zones prevailing southern Eastern Desert of Egypt. In this study, we present for the first time detailed mineralogical and bulk-rock geochemical data to infer some constraints on the parental magma genesis and to understand the tectonic processes contributed to MI formation. Lithologically, it is composed of fresh peridotite, clinopyroxenite, hornblendite, anorthosite, gabbronorite, pyroxene amphibole gabbro, amphibole gabbro and diorite. All rocks have low Th/La ratios(mostly <0.2) and lack positive Zr and Th anomalies excluding significant crustal contamination. They show very low concentrations of Nb, Ta, Zr and Hf together with sub-chondritic ratios of Nb/Ta(2-15) and Zr/Hf(19-35),suggesting that their mantle source was depleted by earlier melting extraction event. The oxygen fugacity(logfO_2) estimated from diorite biotite is around the nickel-nickel oxide buffer(NNO) indicating crystallization from a relatively oxidized magma. Amphiboles in the studied mafic-ultramafic rocks indicate relative oxygen fugacity(i.e. ΔNNO; nickel-nickel oxide) of 0.28-3 and were in equilibrium mostly with 3.77-8.24 wt.% H_2 O_(melt)(i.e. water content in the melt), consistent with the typical values of subduction-related magmas. Moreover, pressure estimates(0.53-6.79 kbar) indicate polybaric crystallization and suggest that the magma chamber(s) was located at relatively shallow crustal levels. The enrichment in LILE(e.g., Cs, Ba, K and Sr) and the depletion in HFSE(e.g., Th and Nb) relative to primitive mantle are consistent with island arc signature. The olivine, pyroxene and amphibole compositions also reflect arc affinity. These inferences suggest that their primary magma was derived from partial melting of a mantle source that formerly metasomatized in a subduction zone setting. Clinopyroxene and bulkrock data are consistent with orogenic tholeiitic affinity. Consequently, the mineral and bulk-rock chemistry strongly indicate crystallization from hydrous tholeiitic magma. Moreover, their trace element patterns are subparallel indicating that the various rock types possibly result from differentiation of the same primary magma. | 9 | The role of graft reperfusion sequence in the development of non-anastomotic biliary strictures following orthotopic liver transplantation: A meta-analysis显示文摘Background: Liver transplant is a potential cure for liver failure and hepatic malignancy but there are many techniques which have been described for vascular reconstruction. This study was to compare the prevalence of non-anastomotic biliary stricture and other surgical complications based on Clavien-Dindo scoring system, in initial portal reperfusion(sequential) versus simultaneous or initial artery reperfusion. Data sources: Meta-analysis of published studies comparing the outcomes of both techniques was carried out. Data search was conducted across the major databases and studies were selected under the guidance of the Cochrane guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Results: Seven studies were included to address the primary and the secondary outcomes. No statistical difference was found in the incidence of non-anastomotic biliary strictures(OR = 0.40; P = 0.14), regardless of reperfusion technique. The pooled estimate of the Clavien-Dindo grading of complications was not significantly different between the techniques, though Clavien-Dindo II complications were higher in the simultaneous or initial artery reperfusion group than the initial portal reperfusion group(OR = 2.73; P = 0.01). Similarly, there was no difference in the operative time, hospital stay and other outcomes addressed in this report. The seismic response of such buildings is greatly dependent on the computational tools used and the inherent assumptions in the modelling process. Thus, it is essential to investigate the sensitivity of the response demands to the corresponding modelling assumption. Many parameters and assumptions are justified to generate effective structural finite element(FE) models of buildings to simulate lateral behaviour and evaluate seismic design demands. As such, the present study focuses on the development of reliable FE models with various levels of refinement. The effects of the FE modelling assumptions on the seismic response demands on the design of buildings are investigated. the predictive ability of a FE model is tied to the accuracy of numerical analysis; a numerical analysis is performed for a series of symmetric buildings in active seismic zones. The results of the seismic response demands are presented in a comparative format to confirm drift and strength limits requirements. | 12 | Microbial community dynamics during composting of animal manures contaminated with arsenic,copper,and oxytetracycline显示文摘Effects of the heavy metal copper(Cu), the metalloid arsenic(As), and the antibiotic oxytetracycline(OTC) on bacterial community structure and diversity during cow and pig manure composting were investigated. Eight treatments were applied, four to each manure type, namely cow manure with:(1) no additives(control),(2) addition of heavy metal and metalloid,(3) addition of OTC and(4) addition of OTC with heavy metal and metalloid;and pig manure with:(5) no additives(control),(6) addition of heavy metal and metalloid,(7) addition of OTC and(8) addition of OTC with heavy metal and metalloid. After 35 days of composting, according to the alpha diversity indices, the combination treatment(OTC with heavy metal and metalloid) in pig manure was less harmful to microbial diversity than the control or heavy metal and metalloid treatments. In cow manure, the treatment with heavy metal and metalloid was the most harmful to the microbial community, followed by the combination and OTC treatments. The OTC and combination treatments had negative effects on the relative abundance of microbes in cow manure composts. The dominant phyla in both manure composts included Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, and Proteobacteria. The microbial diversity relative abundance transformation was dependent on the composting time. Redundancy analysis(RDA) revealed that environmental parameters had the most influence on the bacterial communities. In conclusion, the composting process is the most sustainable technology for reducing heavy metal and metalloid impacts and antibiotic contamination in cow and pig manure. The physicochemical property variations in the manures had a significant effect on the microbial community during the composting process.
