| 8 | Helping Meet Reproductive Health Needs in Pakistan through a Client-centred Approach显示文摘Objective To test the feasibility of training clinic and facility based providers from the Health and Population Welfare Departments. Methods District Sargodha in Punjab province in Pakistan was selected for carrying out the project as it fulfilled the criteria of being a median district with generally similar characteristics as the rest of the country. A quasi-experimental design was used to test the effectiveness of the training programs. Two rounds of situation analy- ses were carried out both pre and post intervention. Results There was a positive attitudinal change in providers in the intervention areas as compared with the control sites. From a list of indicators it was seen that clinic based static providers considered it important to enquire who were the main decision makers were in the family, 60% in intervention versus 49 % in control, and if the client can persuade other members of the family to assist in solving her reproductive health needs, 19% in intervention and 3% in control. In case of community based providers, as compared with 16% in the control site, 76% in the intervention area considered seeking permission for examination to be important. They also felt that enquiring about the welfare of other family members was also necessary, 50% in intervention and 34% in control. Conclusion Training of providers could lead to attitudinal and behavioural changes that can help clients meet their reproductive health needs, and the intervention is feasible and replicable. | Ali Mohammad Zeba. | 9 | Non-typhoidal salmonella:an unusual cause of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in decompensated cirrhosis显示文摘Salmonella typhimurium, a non-typhoidal salmonella, is an unusual cause of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP). It isusually reported in asymptomatic patients with normal or high ascitic fluid protein levels with underlying immunosuppression,as high opsonic activity in the ascitic fluid of these patients protects them from the usual organisms causingspontaneous bacterial peritonitis, unless they are exposed to a particularly virulent organism like salmonella. We report acase of culture-proven non-typhoidal salmonella in a patient with decompensated cirrhosis, with low protein and withoutany underlying immunosuppression, and no other source to explain its origin. | Tony Joseph Prasanth Sobhan Suthanu Bahuleyan Anil John Shanid Abdul Sathar Srijaya Sreesh Kattoor Ramakrishnan Vinayakumar | 2014 | Gastroenterology Report2014,2,3: | 0 |
| 10 | Numerical Control Measures of Stochastic Malaria Epidemic Model显示文摘Nonlinear stochastic modeling has significant role in the all discipline of sciences. The essential control measuring features of modeling are positivity, boundedness and dynamical consistency.Unfortunately, the existing stochastic methods in literature do not restore aforesaid control measuring features, particularly for the stochastic models. Therefore, these gaps should be occupied up in literature,by constructing the control measuring features numerical method. We shall present a numerical control measures for stochastic malaria model in this manuscript. The results of the stochastic model are discussed in contrast of its equivalent deterministic model. If the basic reproduction number is less than one, then the disease will be in control while its value greater than one shows the perseverance of disease in the population. The standard numerical procedures are conditionally convergent. The propose method is competitive and preserve all the control measuring features unconditionally. It has also been concluded that the prevalence of malaria in the human population may be controlled by reducing the contact rate between mosquitoes and humans. The awareness programs run by world health organization in developing countries may overcome the spread of malaria disease. | Muhammad Rafiq Ali Ahmadian Ali Raza Dumitru Baleanu Muhammad Sarwar Ahsan Mohammad Hasan Abdul Sathar | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,10: | 0 |
