| 2 | Blunt trauma related chest wall and pulmonary injuries: An overview显示文摘Physical traumas are tragic and multifaceted injuries that suddenly threaten life.Although it is the third most common cause of death in all age groups,one out of four trauma patients die due to thoracic injury or its complications.Blunt injuries constitute the majority of chest trauma.This indicates the im porta nee of chest trauma among all traumas.Blunt chest trauma is usually caused by motor vehicle accident,falling from height,blunt instrument injury and physical assault.As a result of chest trauma,many injuries may occur,such as pulm onary injuries,and these require urge nt in terve ntion.Chest wall and pulmonary injuries range from rib fractures to flail chest,pneumothorax to hemothorax and pulmonary contusion to tracheobronchial injuries.Following these injuries,patients may present with a simple dyspnea or even respiratory arrest.For such patie nt,it is imports nt to understa nd the treatme nt logic and to take a multidisciplinary approach to treat the pulmonary and chest wall injuries.This is because only 10%of thoracic trauma patients require surgical operation and the remaining 90%can be treated with simple methods such as appropriate airway,oxygen support,maneuvers,volume support and tube thoracostomy.Adequate pain control in chest trauma is sometimes the most basic and best treatment.With definite diagnosis,the morbidity and mortality can be significantly reduced by simple treatment methods. | Bekir Nihat Dogrul Ibrahim Kiliccalan Ekrem Samet Asci Selim Can Peker | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Traumatology2020，23，3： | 19 |

| 5 | Hydrus microstent implantation for surgical management of glaucoma: a review of design, efficacy and safety显示文摘With the advent of microinvasive glaucoma surgery(MIGS),the spectrum of modalities available to manage patients with this chronic and heterogeneous condition has broadened.Despite its novelty however,there has been a rapid evolution in the development of a multitude of devices,each targeting a structure along the aqueous drainage pathway.A growing body of evidence has demonstrated IOP and medication burden reduction,and a more favorable safety profile with MIGS procedures in contrast to traditional incisional surgeries.Among the array of MIGS,the Hydrus®Microstent(Ivantis,Inc.,Irvine,CA)is a recent FDA approved device,designed to bypass the trabecular meshwork and provide a scaffold for Schlemm’s canal.The objective of this article is to review the Hydrus from conception to clinical use,and present data on its efficacy and safety to date.The available literature has shown promise,however inherent to all novel devices,only longterm monitoring will ensure sustained IOP control and an acceptable safety profile.Surgical advancements in glaucoma have revolutionized the field,and continued research and development will establish these approaches in clinical treatment algorithms. | Saba Samet Jeb A.Ong Iqbal Ike K.Ahmed | 2019 | Eye and Vision2019，6，1： | 3 |
| 6 | Comparison of pre-treatment and post-treatment use of selenium in retinal ischemia reperfusion injury显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of selenium in rat retinal ischemia reperfusion(IR) model and compare pretreatment and post-treatment use.METHODS: Selenium pre-treatment group(n =8) was treated with intraperitoneal(i.p.) selenium 0.5 mg/kg for7 d and terminated 24 h after the IR injury. Selenium posttreatment group( n = 8) was treated with i. p. selenium0.5 mg/kg for 7d after the IR injury with termination at the end of the 7d period. Sham group(n =8) received i.p.saline injections identical to the selenium volume for 7d with termination 24 h after the IR injury. Control group(n =8) received no intervention. Main outcome measures were retina superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH),total antioxidant status(TAS), malondialdehyde(MDA),DNA fragmentation levels, and immunohistological apoptosis evaluation.RESULTS: Compared to the Sham group, selenium pre-treatment had a statistical difference in all parameters except SOD. Post-treatment selenium also resulted in statistical differences in all parameters except the MDA levels. When comparing selenium groups, the pre-treatment selenium group had a statistically higher success in reduction of markers of cell damage such as MDA and DNA fragmentation. In contrast, the post-selenium treatment group had resulted in statisticallyhigher levels of GSH. Histologically both selenium groups succeeded to limit retinal thickening and apoptosis. Pre-treatment use was statistically more successful in decreasing apoptosis in ganglion cell layer compared to post-treatment use.CONCLUSION: Selenium was successful in retinal protection in IR injuries.
