2Contrast-enhanced intraoperative ultrasonography equipped with late Kupffer-phase image obtained by sonazoid in patients with colorectal liver metastases显示文摘AIM: To find occult metastases during hepatectomy in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRCLM), contrast-enhanced intraoperative ultrasonography (CE-IOUS) was performed using a new microbubble agent, sonazoid, which provides a parenchyma-specific contrast image based on its accumulation in the Kupffer cells. METHODS: Eight patients with CRCLM underwent CE- IOUS using sonazoid before hepatectomy. The liver was investigated during a late Kupffer-phase imaging, which is a valuable characteristic of sonazoid. RESULTS: CE-IOUS using sonazoid provided the early vascular- and sinusoidal-phase images for 10 min followed by the late Kupffer-phase image up to 30 min after the injection of sonazoid. IOUS did not provide new findings of metastatic lesion in the 8 patients. However, during the late Kupffer-phase image of sonazoid, a metastatic lesion was newly found in two of the 8 patients. These newly detected lesions were removed by an additional hepatectomy and histopathologically diagnosed as a metastasis. 3Mutation of Oryza sativa CORONATINE INSENSITIVE 1b(OsCOI1b) delays leaf senescence显示文摘Jasmonic acid(JA) functions in plant development,including senescence and immunity. Arabidopsis thaliana CORONATINE INSENSITIVE 1 encodes a JA receptor and functions in the JA-responsive signaling pathway. The Arabidopsis genome harbors a single COI gene, but the rice(Oryza sativa) genome harbors three COI homologs, Os COI1 a,Os COI1 b, and Os COI2. Thus, it remains unclear whether each Os COI has distinct, additive, synergistic, or redundant functions in development. Here, we use the oscoi1b-1 knockout mutants to show that Os COI1 b mainly affects leaf senescence under senescence-promoting conditions. oscoi1b-1 mutants stayed green during dark-induced and natural senescence,with substantial retention of chlorophylls and photosynthetic capacity. Furthermore, several senescence-associated genes were downregulated in oscoi1b-1 mutants, including homologs of Arabidopsis thaliana ETHYLENE INSENSITIVE 3 and ORESARA 1, important regulators of leaf senescence. These results suggest that crosstalk between JA signaling and Resea ethylene signaling affects leaf senescence. The Arabidopsis coi1-1 plants containing 35S:Os COI1 a or 35S:Os COI1 b rescued the delayed leaf senescence during dark incubation, suggesting that both Os COI1 a and Os COI1 b are required for promoting leaf senescence in rice. oscoi1b-1 mutants showed significant decreases in spikelet fertility and grain weight,leading to severe reduction of grain yield, indicating that Os COI1-mediated JA signaling affects spikelet fertility and grain filling.Sang-Hwa Lee Yasuhito Sakuraba Taeyoung Lee Kyu-Won Kim Gynheung An Han Yong Lee Nam-Chon Paek 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,6:9
4Risk of hepatitis B virus reactivation in patients with autoimmune diseases undergoing non-tumor necrosis factor-targeted biologics显示文摘Hepatitis B virus reactivation(HBVr)can occur in patients treated with immunosuppressive medications.Risk stratification for HBVr based on hepatitis B virus(HBV)serology and viral load is an important strategy to determine appropriate HBV monitoring and antiviral prophylaxis use.Recent advances in the understanding of pathophysiology of autoimmune diseases have led the development of cytokine-targeted therapies.Tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αinhibitors have been widely used for patients with inflammatory bowel disease,psoriasis,and rheumatic diseases.Further,the clinical benefits of interleukin(IL)-12/23,IL-17,or Janus kinases inhibitors have been demonstrated in these patients.It is well known that TNF-αinhibitor use can lead to HBVr,however,the risk of HBVr in patients undergoing non-TNF-targeted biologics have not been fully understood.In this review,we discuss the risk of HBVr in patients treated with non-TNF-targeted biologics,and immunological mechanisms of these medications causing HBVr.Shintaro Akiyama Thomas G Cotter Atsushi Sakuraba 2021World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,19:4
5Systemic review and network meta-analysis:Prophylactic antibiotic therapy for spontaneous bacterial peritonitis显示文摘BACKGROUND Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis(SBP)is an important prognostic factor for outcomes in patients with cirrhosis.Antibiotic prophylaxis is recommended in patients at high risk for developing SBP,but the choice of antibiotics remains unclear.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of various antibiotics for prophylaxis of SBP based on randomized control trials(RCTs).METHODS Electronic databases were searched through November 2018 for RCTs evaluating the efficacy of therapies for primary or secondary prophylaxis of SBP.The primary outcome was the development of SBP.Sensitivity analyses limited to studies of primary or secondary prophylaxis and studies reported after 2010 were performed.The secondary outcome was the risk of all-cause mortality or transplant.The outcomes were assessed by rank of therapies based on network meta-analyses.Individual meta-analyses were also performed.RESULTS Thirteen RCTs(1742 patients)including norfloxacin,ciprofloxacin,rifaximin,trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole(TMP-SMX),or placebo/no comparator were identified.Individual meta-analyses showed superiority of rifaximin over norfloxacin as well as norfloxacin and TMP-SMX over placebo.Network metaanalysis demonstrated the rank of efficacy in reducing the risk of SBP as:Rifaximin,ciprofloxacin,TMP-SMX,norfloxacin,and placebo/no comparator.Rifaximin ranked highest in sensitivity analyses limited to studies of primary or secondary prophylaxis and studies reported after 2010.Similarly,rifaximin ranked highest in reducing the risk of death/transplant.CONCLUSION The present comprehensive network meta-analysis provides RCT based evidence for superior efficacy of rifaximin compared to other antibiotics for the prophylaxis of SBP and reducing risk of death/transplant.Further RCTs are warranted to confirm our findings.Nolan Faust Akihiro Yamada Haider Haider Yuga Komaki Fukiko Komaki Dejan Micic Atsushi Sakuraba 2020World Journal of Hepatology2020,12,5:3
