1A unified implicit scheme for kinetic model equations. Part I. Memory reduction technique显示文摘A memory reduction technique is proposed for solving stationary kinetic model equations. As implied by an integral solution of the stationary kinetic equation, a velocity distribution function can be reconstructed from given macroscopic variables. Based on this fact, we propose a technique to reconstruct distribution function at discrete level, and employ it to develop an implicit numerical method for kinetic equations. The new implicit method only stores the macroscopic quantities which appear in the collision term, and does not store the distribution functions. As a result, enormous memory requirement for solving kinetic equations is totally relieved. Several boundary conditions, such as, inlet, outlet and isothermal boundaries, are discussed. Some numerical tests demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the technique.The new implicit solver provides nearly identical solution as the explicit kinetic solver, while the memory requirement is on the same order as the Navier–Stokes solver.Songze Chen Chuang Zhang Lianhua Zhu Zhaoli Guo 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,2:7
2Interactive effects of understory removal and fertilization on soil respiration in subtropical Eucalyptus plantations显示文摘Aims It has been well recognized that understory vegetation plays an important role in driving forest ecosystem processes and functioning.In subtropical plantation forests,understory removal and fertiliza-tion have been widely applied;however,our understanding on how understory removal affects soil respiration and how the process is regulated by fertilization is limited.Here,we conducted an under-story removal experiment combined with fertilization to evaluate the effects of the two forest management practices and their inter-actions on soil respiration in subtropical forest in southern China.Methods The study was conducted in a split-plot design with fertilization as the whole-plot factor,understory removal as the subplot factor and block as the random factor in subtropical Eucalyptus plantations.In total,there were four treatments:control with unfertilized and intact understory(CK),understory removal but without fertilization(UR),with fertilization but without understory removal(FT)and with fertilization+understory removal(FT+UR).Eucalyptus above-and belowground biomass increment,fine root biomass,soil tempera-ture,soil moisture and soil respiration were measured in the present study.understory respiration(Ru)was quantified in different ways:Ru=RCK−Ru or Ru=RFT−R(FT+u);fertilization increased soil respiration(RFI)was also quantified in different ways:RFI=RFT−RCK or RFI=R(FT+u)−Ru.Important Findingsover a 2-year experiment,our data indicate that understory removal significantly decreased soil respiration,while fertilization increased soil respiration.understory removal decreased soil respiration by 28.8%under fertilization,but only 15.2%without fertilization.Fertilization significantly increased soil respiration by 23.6%with the presence of understory vegetation,and only increased by 3.7%when understory was removed,indicating that fertilization increased soil respiration mainly by increasing the contribution of the understory.our study advances our understanding of the interactive effects of understory management and fertilization on soil respiration in subtropical plantations.Songze Wan Chenlu Zhang Yuanqi Chen Jie Zhao Xiaolin Zhu Jianping Wu Lixia Zhou Yongbiao Lin Zhanfeng Liu Shenglei Fu 2015Journal of Plant Ecology2015,8,3:6
3Effects of a novel bimetallic catalytic biofilter-based pretreatment technique on the form of ultrafiltration membrane fouling显示文摘Pretreatments of influents using bimetallic catalytic biofilter(BC-biofilter)can help reduce transmembrane pressures.For ultrafiltration membranes coupled with a conventional biofilter pretreatment,the cake layer resistance accounts for 25.0%of the total resistance.However,for those coupled with BC-biofilter pretreatment,the cake layer resistance accounts only for 12.5%of the total resistance.Confocal laser scanning microscopy is employed to determine the porosity of cake layer.It is found that ultrafiltration membranes with BC-biofilter pretreatment show a cake layer porosity of up to 0.56 or greater,whereas those with a conventional biofilter pretreatment exhibit a cake layer porosity of only 0.36.This is because micro-flocculation occurs in the effluents of BC-biofilter.The flocs generated through flocculation deposit on membrane surfaces to create highly porous cake layer.Moreover,catalytic reduction can increase the zeta potentials of the biofilter effluents.This makes the deposition of colloidal particles and flocs on membrane surfaces difficult under electrostatic repulsion.Simultaneously,micro-flocculation after BC-biofilter pretreatment can remove colloidal particles with particle sizes of200–350 nm in water.This can effectively prevent the blockage of ultrafiltration membrane pores.Furthermore,compared to conventional biofilter,BC-biofilter pretreatment can more effectively reduce the number of colloidal particles and the van der Waals forces of ultrafiltration membranes.They can also change the action directions of electric double layers and thereby mitigate ultrafiltration membrane fouling.Songze Hao Xuehui Zhao Hongwei Zhang Yun Wu Cheng Fang Xujia Wang 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,10:2

13Microstructure, Texture, and Hardness Evolutions of Al-Mg-Si-Cu Alloy during Annealing Treatment显示文摘Microstructure, texture and hardness evolutions of Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy during annealing treatment were studied by microstructure, texture and hardness characterization in the present study. The experimental results show that microstructure, texture and hardness will change to some extent with the increase of annealing temperature. The microstructure transforms from the elongated bands to elongated grains first, and then the grains grow continuously. The texture transforms from the initial deformation texture β fiber to recrystallization texture mainly consisting of CubeND {001}<310> and P {011}<122> orientations first, and then the recrystallization texture may be enhanced continuously as a result of the grain growth. Hardness decreases slowly at first, and then decreases sharply and increases significantly finally. Besides, the particle distributions also have great changes. As the annealing temperature increases, they increase firstly as a result of precipitation, and then gradually disappear as a result of dissolution.
