2Engineering of hollow polymeric nanosphere-supported imidazolium-based ionic liquids with enhanced antimicrobial activities显示文摘The design of stable,efficient and processable bactericidal materials represents a significant challenge for combating multidrugresistant bacteria in a variety of engineering fields.Herein,we report a facile strategy for the preparation of hollow polymeric nanosphere(HPN)-supported imidazolium-based ionic liquids(denoted as HPN-ILs)with superior antimicrobial activities.HPNILs were tailored by moderate Friedel−Crafts polymerization followed by the sequential covalent bonding of imidazole and bromoalkene.The resultant HPN-ILs have uniform hollow spherical morphology,an adequate surface area,and excellent physicochemical stability.Furthermore,they are highly active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and exhibit typical time/dosage-dependent antibacterial activities.The rational combination of porous HPNs and antibacterial ILs to generate an all-in-one entity may open new avenues for the design and fabrication of efficient bacteriostatic agents.Moreover,HPN-ILs have good biocompatibility and can also be loaded onto diverse matrices,and thus could extend their practical bactericidal application in the potential biomedical-active field.Yu Zhang Shuwei Li Yixin Xu Xinyun Shi Mingxin Zhang Yingning Huang Ying Liang Yaqiong Chen Wanli Ji Jung Rae Kim Wenliang Song Deng-Guang Yu Il Kim 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:1

4Effect of sodium alginate-based hydrogel loaded with lutein on gut microbiota and inflammatory response in DSS-induced colitis mice显示文摘In order to effectively deliver lutein to the inflamed colon and better exert its pharmacological activity,this paper constructed a sodium alginate hydrogel-based delivery system loaded with lutein nanoparticles,evaluated the regulation on the expression and secretion of related inflammatory factors in mice with colitis,and its impact on intestinal microbial environment.The results showed that comparing lutein crystal and its nanoparticle,lutein hydrogel alleviated dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis in mice more effectively by adjusting fecal heme content,colon tissue damage,and inflammatory factor levels.Moreover,lutein hydrogel increased the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins zonula occluden-1(ZO-1),claudin-1 and occludin to maintain the integrity of the intestinal-barrier,inhibited the nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)pathway and reduced expression and secretion of inflammatory factors including tumour necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),NOD-like receptors 3(NLRP3)and interleukin(IL)-1β.In addition,the intestinal microbial environment of mice with colitis was improved by down-regulating the relative abundance of Desulfovibrionaceae and up-regulating the relative abundance of Erysipelotrichaceae and Rikenellaceae.As a slow-release carrier to load lutein nanoparticles,sodium alginate-based hydrogel has potential application prospect.Pengxiang Xu Shuwei Luo Jiangfeng Song Zhuqing Dai Dajing Li Cai’e Wu 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6:0
5Effects of dietary phosphorus level on growth,body composition,liver histology and lipid metabolism of spotted seabass(Lateolabrax maculatus)reared in freshwater显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine the effects of dietary phosphorus(P)levels on growth performance,body composition,liver histology and enzymatic activity,and expression of lipid metabolism-related genes in spotted seabass(Lateolabrax maculatus).Seven diets were prepared to contain available P levels of 0.48%(the control group),0.69%,0.89%,1.10%,1.28%,1.51%and 1.77%and feed fish(4.26±0.03 g)to satiety twice daily for 10 weeks.Significantly higher weight gain and specific growth rate were recorded at P levels of 0.69%-1.51%compared to the control group.Feed conversion ratio decreased with increasing P levels up to 0.89%and increased thereafter.The lowest liver lipid content,viscerosomatic index and lipid content of whole-body were obtained in the 0.89%-P group among dietary treatments.P and calcium(Ca)contents in whole body were increased,while liver triglyceride and cholesterol contents were decreased with increasing dietary P levels from 0.48%to 1.77%.The highest activity of hepatic lipase was recorded in the 1.10%-P group among dietary treatments.Compared to the control group,1.10%P enhanced the proportion of HUFA and reduced the proportion of SFA and MUFA.The histological observations showed that P deficiency(0.48%)led to the vacuolization of hepatocytes and increased number of lipid droplets.Meanwhile,overall liver tissue structure was improved when P level increased to 1.28%.Compared to the control group,expression of lipid metabolism-related genes such as FAS,ACC-2 and SREBP-1 was decreased at 0.89%-1.10%P group while an opposite trend was observed in the expression of PPARa2 and CPT-1 genes.The current study showed that 0.89%dietary P levels could promote growth performance of spotted seabass and reduce lipid accumulation in the liver.A broken-line regression analysis based on weight gain showed that the optimum dietary P level(available P)for juvenile spotted seabass reared in freshwater was 0.72%.Jilei Zhang Shuwei Zhang Kangle Lu Ling Wang Kai Song Xueshan Li Chunxiao Zhang Samad Rahimnejad 2023Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,5:0
6Development of solid base catalyst X/Y/MgO/-Al_(2)O_(3) for optimization of preparation of biodiesel from Jatropha curcas L.seed oil显示文摘The preparation and regeneration conditions of the identified catalyst X/Y/MgO/?-Al2O3 with high catalytic activity were studied and optimized. The biodiesel was prepared by transesterification of Jatropha curcas seed oil produced in Guizhou with methanol at its reflux temoerature in the presence of X/Y/MgO/?-Al2O3 . The pilot plant tests were carried out in a 100 L reaction vessel. Both average yield and fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) content reached more than 96.50% under the optimum reaction conditions of the pilot plant tests designed with an oil/methanol molar ratio of 1 : 10, catalyst concentration of 1.00%, and reaction time of 3 h at reflux temperature. 8HG-Induced sEVs Mediate Biomechanics of HK-2 Cells显示文摘Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) participate in the pathological progression of high glucose (HG)-induced kidney injury, which is closely related to diabetic nephropathy. How sEVs specifically mediate the cell biomechanics underlying HG injury is unclear. Herein, we utilized a versatile atomic force microscope to determine the contributions of sEVs in HG-induced cellular injury. The sEVs extracted from the culture medium of human proximal tubule kidney (HK-2) cells treated by HG for 72 h (HG-induced sEVs) were verified and analyzed by multiple techniques, and the results indicated the effective production and the effect of dehydration on the shape of HG-induced sEVs. Further investigation on the morphologies of HK-2 cells treated by HG-induced sEVs showed that the surface roughness of the HK-2 cells increased, and their pseudopodia transitioned from lamellipodia to filopodia, with almost doubled mean pseudopodia length. Quantitative analysis of the mechanical responses of the cells revealed that the mean Young’s modulus increased by 26.2%, and the mean adhesion decreased by 36.8%. The indirect mediation of cellular biomechanics guided by HG-induced sEVs was evaluated by comparing it with previously studied direct HG injury. The HG-induced sEVs caused a greater reduction in cell adhesion and an increase in Young’s modulus compared with direct HG stimulation. This work suggested the ability of HG-induced sEVs to elicit specific biomechanical responses during HG injury, advancing the understanding of the injury mechanism caused by HG. 10Prediction and cause investigation of ozone based on a double-stage attention mechanism recurrent neural network显示文摘Ozone is becoming a significant air pollutant in some regions,and VOCs are essential for ozone prediction as necessary ozone precursors.In this study,we proposed a recurrent neural network based on a double-stage attention mechanism model to predict ozone,selected an appropriate time series for prediction through the input attention and temporal attention mechanisms,and analyzed the cause of ozone generation according to the contribution of feature parameters.The experimental data show that our model had an RMSE of 7.71μg/m3 and a mean absolute error of 5.97μg/m3 for 1-h predictions.The DA-RNN model predicted ozone closer to observations than the other models.Based on the importance of the characteristics,we found that the ozone pollution in the Jinshan Industrial Zone mainly comes from the emissions of petrochemical enterprises,and the good generalization performance of the model is proved through testing multiple stations.Our experimental results demonstrate the validity and promising application of the DA-RNN model in predicting atmospheric pollutants and investigating their causes.Yuanxin Zhang Fei Li Chaoqiong Ni Song Gao Shuwei Zhang Jin Xue Zhukai Ning Chuanming Wei Fang Fang Yongyou Nie Zheng Jiao 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,2:0
