1Antihyperglycemic activity,antihyperlipedemic activity,haematological effects and histopathological analysis of Sapindus mukorossi Gaerten fruits in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemie properties of hydroalcoholic extract of fruits of Sapindus mukorossi Caerlen and its beneficial effect on haeniatological parameters with histopathological analysis in streptpzotocin induced diabetic rats.Methods:Sapindus mukorossi fruits extract(250 and 500 mg/kg body weight) and standard drug glybenclamide(0.5 mg/kg body weight) were administered to diabetic rats.Effect of extract on hyperglycemia,hyperlipidemia and hematological parameters was studied in diabetic rats.Histopathological changes in diabetic rat pancreas were also observed after extract and glybenclamide treatment.Results:Daily oral administration of Sapindus mukorossi fruits extract(250 and 500 mg/kg body weight) and glybenclamide for 20 days showed beneficial effects on blood glucose level(P<0.01) and lipid level.The extract has a favorable effect on the histopathological changes of the pancreas in streptozotocin induced diabetes.Conclusions: These findings reveal that the hydroalcoholic extract of Sapindus mukorossi fruits extract possesses antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemie properties.In addition.the extract can prevent various complications of diabetes and improve some haeniatological parameters.Neeraj Verma G Amresh P K Sahu Neelam Mishra Anil P Singh Ch V Rao 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012,5,7:14
2The role and significance of Magnesium in modern day research-A review显示文摘Magnesium is one of the largely available elements in the earth’s crust. It has a low structural density with high specific strength. This unique material property has forced an increase in the use of magnesium and its alloys in various applications pertaining to industrial sector,automobiles, aerospace and biomedical. Since magnesium is a highly reactive metal, it is prone to higher rate of corrosion as compared to its counterparts. Thus, it is essential to analyze the corrosion behavior of magnesium and its alloys in its applications. An appropriate process is to be followed in the design and development of magnesium alloys which overcome the limitations of magnesium and enhance the desired material properties in accordance to their applications. This review paper summarizes the importance of magnesium and its material properties. The influence of various alloying elements on the mechanical properties of magnesium is reviewed. The broad classification of Mg alloys and their behavioral trends are detailed. The corrosion behavior of magnesium and the influence of corrosion products on the material characteristics of magnesium, in aqueous medium, are discussed. The manufacturing techniques of magnesium alloys along with the secondary techniques are also covered. The various applications and the limitations of magnesium in these applications are covered. A complete section is dedicated towards detailing the recent trends of magnesium(Mg) alloys, i.e., the biodegradable nature and applications of Mg alloys. The influence of biocorrosion on Mg alloys and techniques to overcome it have been deliberated. 4Hepatoprotective potential of ethanolic extract of Ziziphus oenoplia(L.)Mill roots against antitubercular drugs induced hepatotoxicity in experimental models显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the hepatoprotective potential of ethanolic(50%) extract of Ziziphus oenoplia(L.) Mill(Z.oenoplia) root against isoniazid(INH) and rifampicin(RIF) induced liver damage in animal models.Methods:Five groups of six rats each were selected for the study.Ethanolic extract at a dose of 150 and 300 mg/kg as well as silymarin(100 mg/kg) were administered orally once daily for 21 d in INH + RIF treated groups.The serum levels of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(SGOT),glutamate pyruvate transaminase(SGPT),alkaline phosphatase (SALP),and bilirubin were estimated along with activities of superoxide dismutase,catalase, glutathione S-transferase,glutathione peroxidase,and hepatic melondialdehyde formation. Histopathological analysis was carried out to assess injury to the liver.Result:The considerably elevated serum enzymatic activities of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase,glutamate pyruvate transaminase,alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin due to INH + RIF treatment were restored towards norma) in a dose dependent manner after the treatment with ethanolic extract of Z.oenoplia roots.Meanwhile,the decreased activities of superoxide dismutase,catalase, glutathione S-transferase and glutathione peroxidase were also restored towards normal dose dependency.In addition,ethanolic extract also significantly prevented the elevation of hepatic melondialdehyde formation in the liver of INH + RIF intoxicated rats in a dose dependent manner. 6CHANGES IN CHANNEL PATTERN OF RIVER GANGA BETWEEN MUSTAFABAD AND RAJMAHAL, GANGETIC PLAINS SINCE 18TH CENTURY显示文摘Morphological analyses require quantitative description of river course by providing its equation. Such an equation is not possible as the river plan-form contains loops that cannot be described by it. To circumvent this difficulty a system of parametric equations is devised for describing the river plan-form.The system of equations was used to obtain morphological attributes like sinuosity and curvature. Using the plan-form data for the River Ganga for years 1780, 1828, 1853, 1935 and 1978 the parametric equations were setup for these years. The plan-forms were to study the changes in channel pattern,sinuosities and mode of movement of meander loops with time in the last two centuries and in the downstream direction in the Ganga River between Mustafabad and Rajmahal over about 900 km long course.Prabhata K. 7玻璃体切割术联合人工晶状体巩膜固定术治疗眼外伤的疗效(英文)显示文摘目的:探讨玻璃体切割术(pars plana vitrectomy,PPV)联合人工晶状体(intraocular lens,IOL)巩膜固定术治疗眼外伤的疗效。方法:系列病例回顾性分析。将马来西亚大学医学中心接受PPV联合IOL巩膜固定术的8例连续性病例纳入研究,其中1例患者双眼均受伤,共有9眼。对现阶段视力,手术技巧,并发症及术后疗效进行分析。结果:9眼中有8眼(89%)视力提高。术后主要并发症是眼压升高,无缝线破裂。结论:PPV联合IOL巩膜固定术对有眼外伤病史的患者有非常好的疗效。Angela V PLoo Sujaya Singh Mohammadreza Peyman Visvaraja Subrayan 2012国际眼科杂志2012,12,6:2
8Monitoring and modeling of urban sprawl through remote sensing and GIS in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia显示文摘Introduction:Kuala Lumpur is currently experiencing a large-scale urban transformation.This study explores a multi-buffer ring method to investigate the spatial and temporal dynamics of urban growth in the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area by using Geographical Information Systems(GIS)and remote sensing imageries from1989 to 2014.Methods:The first Landsat images from 1989,2001,and 2014 were classified with maximum likelihood classification to produce land cover maps and identify four types of land cover:urban/built-up,agriculture,forest,and water.Then,the area coverage for all the land use types at different points in time were measured and combined with distance from the city center.Later on,urbanization densities from the city center to the outside for every 1-km distance from 1 to 50 km are calculated.Results:City density on the distance of 5,8,15,20,and 30 km was very high in the years 1989 and 2014.Temporally,urban expansion shows fast and slow growth stages with high-speed growth shifting to the east side of the city.Conclusions:In general,the population,traffic conditions,industrialization,and policy are the major factors thatinfluenced the urban expansion.Mukesh Singh Boori Maik Netzband Komal Choudhary Vít Voženílek 2015Ecological Processes2015,4,1:2

11A new four-dimensional hyperjerk system with stable equilibrium point, circuit implementation, and its synchronization by using an adaptive integrator backstepping control显示文摘This paper reports a new simple four-dimensional(4 D) hyperjerk chaotic system. The proposed system has only one stable equilibrium point. Hence, its strange attractor belongs to the category of hidden attractors. The proposed system exhibits various dynamical behaviors including chaotic, periodic, stable nature, and coexistence of various attractors. Numerous theoretical and numerical methods are used for the analyses of this system. The chaotic behavior of the new system is validated using circuit implementation. Further, the synchronization of the proposed systems is shown by designing an adaptive integrator backstepping controller.
