| 1 | The role and significance of Magnesium in modern day research-A review显示文摘Magnesium is one of the largely available elements in the earth’s crust. It has a low structural density with high specific strength. This unique material property has forced an increase in the use of magnesium and its alloys in various applications pertaining to industrial sector, automobiles, aerospace and biomedical. Since magnesium is a highly reactive metal, it is prone to higher rate of corrosion as compared to its counterparts. Thus, it is essential to analyze the corrosion behavior of magnesium and its alloys in its applications. An appropriate process is to be followed in the design and development of magnesium alloys which overcome the limitations of magnesium and enhance the desired material properties in accordance to their applications. This review paper summarizes the importance of magnesium and its material properties. The influence of various alloying elements on the mechanical properties of magnesium is reviewed. The broad classification of Mg alloys and their behavioral trends are detailed. The corrosion behavior of magnesium and the influence of corrosion products on the material characteristics of magnesium, in aqueous medium, are discussed. The manufacturing techniques of magnesium alloys along with the secondary techniques are also covered. The various applications and the limitations of magnesium in these applications are covered. A complete section is dedicated towards detailing the recent trends of magnesium(Mg) alloys, i.e., the biodegradable nature and applications of Mg alloys. The influence of biocorrosion on Mg alloys and techniques to overcome it have been deliberated. This paper provides a thorough review on recent developments of magnesium with respect to engineering applications. | S V Satya Prasad S B Prasad Kartikey Verma Raghvendra Kumar Mishra Vikas Kumar Subhash Singh | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,1: | 11 |

| 3 | Gallbladder carcinoid masquerading as gallbladder carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND:Carcinoid of the gallbladder is rare.Since it often presents as a gallbladder mass it may be confused with gallbladder carcinoma. METHODS:A 35-year-old lady presented with pain in the right upper abdomen, and was radiologically found to have a gallbladder mass.A provisional diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma was made.Laparotomy revealed a 20×20 cm, exophytic, friable growth arising from the fundus of the gallbladder. It was excised with segmentⅣb andⅤof the liver and regional lymphadenectomy. RESULT:Histopathological examination revealed it was a neuroendocrine carcinoma, atypical carcinoid of the gallbladder. CONCLUSION:Gallbladder carcinoid has a poor outcome, requires aggressive treatment, and should be considered as one of the rare but possible gallbladder lesions. | Mallika Tewari Vinay Kumar Raghvendra Raman Mishra Hari S Shukla | 2009 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2009,8,3: | 0 |
| 4 | Retraction Note: Effects of roller burnishing process parameters on surface roughness of A356/5%SiC composite using response surface methodology显示文摘The Editor-in-Chief of the journal has retracted this article titled 'Effects of roller burnishing process parameters on surface roughness of A356/5%SiC composite using response surface methodology'[1] due to concerns with figures 5, 7, 8 and 10. | Shashi Prakash Dwivedi Satpal Sharma Raghvendra Kumar Mishra | 2019 | Advances in Manufacturing2019,7,1: | 0 |
| 5 | Effects of roller burnishing process parameters on surface roughness of A356/5%SiC composite using response surface methodology显示文摘In this study,a simple roller burnishing tool was made to operate burnishing processes on A356/5%SiC metal matrix composite fabricated by electromagnetic stir casting under different parameters. The effects of burnishing speed, burnishing force and number of burnishing passes on the surface roughness and tribological properties were measured.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) graphs of the machined surface with PCD(insert-10) tool and roller burnished surface with tungsten carbide(WC) roller were taken into consideration to observe the surface finish of metal matrix composites. The mechanical properties(tensile strength, hardness, ductility) of A356/5%SiC metal matrix composites were studied for both unburnished samples and burnished samples. The results revealed that the roller burnished samples of A356/5%SiC led to the improvement in tensile strength, hardness and ductility. In order to find out the effects of roller burnishing process parameters on the surface roughness of A35675%SiC metal matrix composite, response surface methodology(RSM)(Box-Behnken design) was used and a prediction model was developed relevant to average surface roughness using experimental data.In the range of process parameters, the result shows that roller burnishing speed increases, and surface roughness decreases, but on the other hand roller burnishing force and number of passes increase, and surface roughness increases.Optimum values of burnishing speed(1.5 m/s),burnishing force(50 N) and number of passes(2)during roller burnishing of A356/5%SiC metal matrix composite to minimize the surface roughness(predicted1.232 urn) have been found out. There was only 5.03%error in the experimental and modeled results of surface roughness. | Shashi Prakash Dwivedi Satpal Sharma Raghvendra Kumar Mishra | 2014 | Advances in Manufacturing2014,2,4: | 0 |
