| 4 | Typical basin-fill sequences and basin migration in Yanshan, North China ——Response to Mesozoic tectonic transition显示文摘Basin-fill sequences of Mesozoic typical basins in the Yanshan area, North China may be divided into four phases, reflecting lithosphere tectonic evolution from flexure (T3), flexure with weak rifting (J1+2), tectonic transition (J3), and rifting (K). Except the first phase, the other three phases all start with lava and volcaniclastic rocks, and end with thick coarse clastic rocks and/or conglomerates, showing cyclic basin development rather than simple cyclic rift mechanism and disciplinary basin-stress change from extension to compression in each phase. Prototype basin analysis, based on basin-fill sequences, paleocurrent distribution and depositional systems, shows that single basin-strike and structural-line direction controlling basin development had evidently changed from east-west to northeast in Late Jurassic in the Yanshan area, although basin group still occurred in east-west zonal distribution. | 10 | Simultaneous removal and oxidation of arsenic from water byδ-MnO 2 modified activated carbon显示文摘The ubiquitous arsenic in groundwater poses a great risk to human health due to its environmental toxicity and carcinogenicity.In the present work,a new adsorbent,δ-MnO2 modified activated carbon,was prepared,and its performance for the uptake of arsenate and arsenite species from aqueous solutions was investigated by batch experiments.Various techniques,including FESEM-EDX,p-XRD,XPS and BET surface area analysis,were employed to characterize the properties of the adsorbent and the arsenic adsorption mechanisms.The results showed thatδ-MnO2 covered on the surface and padded in the pores of the activated carbon.Adsorption kinetic studies revealed that approximately 90.1%and 76.8%of As(Ⅲ)and As(V),respectively,were removed by the adsorbent in the first 9 hr,and adsorption achieved equilibrium within 48 hr.The maximum adsorption capacities of As(V)and As(Ⅲ)at pH 4.0 calculated from Langmuir adsorption isotherms were 13.30 and 12.56 mg/g,respectively.The effect of pH on As(Ⅴ)and As(Ⅲ)removal was similar,and the removal efficiency significantly reduced with the increase of solution pH.Arsenite oxidation and adsorption kinetics showed that the As(Ⅴ)concentration in solution due to As(Ⅲ)oxidation and reductive dissolution of MnO2 increased rapidly during the first 12 min,and then gradually decreased.Based on the XPS analysis,nearly 93.3%of As(Ⅲ)had been oxidized to As(V)on the adsorbent surface and around 38.9%of Mn(Ⅳ)had been reduced to Mn(Ⅱ)after As(Ⅲ)adsorption.This approach provides a possible method for the purification of arsenic-contaminated groundwater. | Yulong Wang Hupeng Liu Shaofeng Wang Xuhui Li Xin Wang Yongfeng Jia | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,8: | 4 |

| 15 | An Automatic Method for Generating an Unbiased Intensity Normalizing Factor in Positron Emission Tomography Image Analysis After Stroke显示文摘Positron emission tomography(PET) imaging of functional metabolism has been widely used to investigate functional recovery and to evaluate therapeutic efficacy after stroke. The voxel intensity of a PET image is the most important indicator of cellular activity, but is affected by other factors such as the basal metabolic ratio of each subject. In order to locate dysfunctional regions accurately,intensity normalization by a scale factor is a prerequisite in the data analysis, for which the global mean value is most widely used. However, this is unsuitable for stroke studies.Alternatively, a specified scale factor calculated from a reference region is also used, comprising neither hyper-nor hypo-metabolic voxels. But there is no such recognized reference region for stroke studies. Therefore, we proposed a totally data-driven automatic method for unbiased scale factor generation. This factor was generated iteratively until the residual deviation of two adjacent scale factors was reduced by < 5%. | 17 | Crystal-KMC: Parallel Software for Lattice Dynamics Monte Carlo Simulation of Metal Materials显示文摘Kinetic Monte Carlo(KMC) is a widely used method for studying the evolution of materials at the microcosmic level. At present, while there are many simulation software programs based on this algorithm, most focus on the verification of a certain phenomenon and have no analog-scale requirement, so many are serial in nature. The dynamic Monte Carlo algorithm is implemented using a parallel framework called SPPARKS, but it does not support the Embedded Atom Method(EAM) potential, which is commonly used in the dynamic simulation of metal materials. Metal material — the preferred material for most containers and components — plays an important role in many fields, including construction engineering and transportation. In this paper, we propose and describe the development of a parallel software program called Crystal-KMC, which is specifically used to simulate the lattice dynamics of metallic materials. This software uses MPI to achieve a parallel multiprocessing mode, which avoid the limitations of serial software in the analog scale. Finally, we describe the use of the parallel-KMC simulation software Crystal-KMC in simulating the diffusion of vacancies in iron, and analyze the experimental results. | 18 | Investigation of ion-atom collision dynamics through imaging techniques显示文摘The principle and technique details of recoil ion momentum imaging are discussed and summarized. The recoil ion momentum spectroscopy built at the Institute of Modern Physics (Lanzhou) is presented. The first results obtained at the setup are analyzed. For 30 keV He2+ on He collision, it is found that the capture of single electron occurs dominantly into the first excited states, and the related scattering angle results show that the ground state capture occurs at large impact parameters, while the capture into excited states occurs at small impact parameters. The results manifest the collision dynamics for the sub-femto-second process can be studied through the techniques uniquely.
