4Characterization and separation of pyrite from Abu Tartur black shale显示文摘This work aimed for pyrite separation from Abu Tartur black shale as a source of sulfur to be an added economic value of Abu Tartur area. The considered samples in the present work were collected from a core drilled in Abu Tartur plateau representing the pyrite-rich black shale of the U. Cretaceous age.Sample characterization was carried out using petrographic microscope, XRD, DTA/DTG, C/S and XRF techniques. Clay minerals, silt-sized quartz, calcite, and hematite were the main minerals associating pyrite(5.34%). Liberation behavior of the sample was about 80% below 5 lm.Sample processing was achieved through one-day soaking followed by classification using 1 inch Mozley hydro-cyclone where about 35.5% by weight went to underflow and 64.5% went to overflow.The underflow product was subjected to an advanced gravity separation process using SB-40 Falcon Concentrator through a CCD statistical design prepared by Design-Expert 6.0 software proposed to optimize the separation process through a study for the effects of frequency(Hz) and water pressure(Psi) on both assay and recovery of the sulfur-rich heavy fraction.A heavy concentrate weighed 10.90% with inorganic sulfur content reached 11.37%(21.24% pyrite) with overall recovery(50.01%) was obtained after two cleaning at the optimum conditions.Ibrahim S.S. 6INFLUENCE OF COLD ROLLING REDUCTION ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF TWIP STEEL显示文摘The influence of cold rolling reduction on microstructure and mechanical properties of the TWIP (ttwinning induced plasticity) steel was investigated. The results indicated that the steel had better comprehensive mechanical properties when cold rolling reduction was about 65.0% and the annealing temperature was 1000℃. The tensile strength of the steel is about 640MPa and the yield strength is higher than 255MPa, while the elongation is above 82%. The microstructure is composed of austenitic matrix and annealing twins at room temperature, at the same time, a significant amount of annealing twins and stacking faults are observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). 7Post-failure behavior of tunnel heading collapse by MPM simulation显示文摘Tunnel collapse presents a serious threat to the safety of urban construction. The traditional approach adopted to assess this risk is to evaluate the factor of safety against failure. However, this analysis only determines on whether the tunnel will collapse or not, and does not provide information on the magnitude of the post-failure behavior(for example, catastrophic or progressive) if the tunnel collapse occurs. In this study, a meshless method based on the material point method(MPM) was used to investigate the post-failure behavior of tunnel heading collapse in two-dimensional plane-strain conditions. The capability and accuracy of MPM were verified by comparing the elicited results to centrifuge test data and to analytical solutions obtained from limit state methods. MPM simulations were conducted at different soil conditions(clay or sand) and profiles(homogenous or linear increasing strength) as well as at different tunnel geometries(i.e. tunnel depth and unlined length). 8EFFECTS OF MICROSTRVCTURE ON FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH BEHMIOR IN Ni-BASE SUPERALLOY GH586显示文摘Threshold stress values, muging from ~8 to 16MPa·m1/2 can be obtained in a Ni-base alloy GH586 by varying the microstructure through heat treatments. The threshold and low crack growth rate behaviors at room temperature, with varying groin size and γ’-distribution, have been investigated. The results indicate that grain size is an important microstructurol parameter that affects fatigue crack growth threshold and propagation behaviors, as the values of △Kth increase with increasing grain size, but the γ’ -distribution also has important effect. Analyses show that the effects of groin size on threshold and low crack-growth rate behavior result from heterogeneous deformation and roughness-induced crack closure due to crystallographic slipping and cracking in coarse microstructure. The higher △Kth and lower fatigue crack growth rate with increasing amounts of fine γ’ phases are closely related to less damage accumulation level in deformation zone of crack-tip resulted from heterogeneous deformation due to dislocations’ shearing γ’ precipitates.S.S. 9Assessment of Diversity, Distribution, Conservation Status and Preparation of Management Plan for Medicinal Plants in the Catchment Area of Parbati Hydroelectric Project Stage-Ⅲ in Northwestern Himalaya显示文摘The developmental activities, particularly the construction of hydroelectric projects are causing a great loss of biodiversity in the Indian Himalayan Region. The Himachal Pradesh, a part of IHR is well known for the development of hydroelectric projects. The Parbati H.E. Project is amongst the major projects of the State. The different stages of the project are all causing loss of biodiversity of the area. Stage Ⅲ of the Parbati H.E. Project is a run of the river scheme on the Sainj River downstream of Power House of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ. The project shall utilize regulated discharge of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ and inflow of River Sainj for power generation, and has been contemplated as a peaking station operating in tandem with Stage Ⅱ. The present study has been undertaken to see the impact of hydroelectric project on the biodiversity, particularly on medicinal plants. A total of 104 species of medicinal plants, belonging to different life forms, i.e., trees (23 spp.), shrubs (22 spp.), herbs (57 spp.) and ferns (2 spp.) were recorded. The species have been analyzed and studied for their distribution, classification, altitudinal zones, part (s) used, indigenous uses, nativity, endemism and rarity.Different parts of these species, such as whole plants, roots (including rhizomes and tubers), leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, stems, barks, spikes, nuts and insect galls are used by the inhabitants for curing various diseases and ailments. 30 species are native to the Himalayan region, 9 species native to the Himalayan region and adjacent countries also and 65 species are non-natives. 9 species are near endemics. Considering the whole Himalaya as a biogeographic unit (sensu lato), the near endemics are endemic to the Himalaya. Among these species, Zanthoxylum armatum is categorized as Endangered and Valeriana wallichii as Vulnerable. Hedychium spicatum, Rhus javanica, Berberis lycium, Thalictrum foliolossum, Salvia lanata, Rubia cordifolia and Bergenia ligulata may be considered as threatened species due to their over exploitation for trade. 90 species are propagated by seeds, 8 species by seeds and rhizomes/roots/tubers, 4 species by seeds and cuttings, and 2 species by sori. A management plan for the cultivation and conservation of the medicinal plants in the dam submergence area, and the commercially viable medicinal plants with high value in the catchment area is suggested.S.S. 10Dynamic responses of two buildings connected by viscoelastic dampers under bidirectional earthquake excitations显示文摘In this study,dynamic responses of two buildings connected by viscoelastic dampers under bidirectional excitations are extensively investigated.The two buildings are a 10-story building and a 16-story building,with the shorter building on the left.Viscoelastic dampers are installed at all fl oors of the shorter building.Equations of motion are formulated using a fractional derivative model to represent the viscoelastic dampers.Three cases are considered with mass eccentricities at 0,10% and-10% with respect to the dimensions of the buildings.The responses of the buildings are numerically predicted at different damper properties.The simulation results indicated that the maximum horizontal responses of the buildings without eccentricities are signifi cantly mitigated.However,torsional effects are adversely increased.For asymmetric buildings,the effectiveness of the connecting dampers is affected by building eccentricities.As a result,mass eccentricities must be taken into account in damper selection.When compared with vibrations induced by unidirectional excitations,bidirectional excitations can increase the responses of coupled asymmetric buildings.In addition,installing dampers only at the top fl oor of the shorter building may cause a sudden change in lateral stiffness of the taller building.Consequently,the story shear envelopes of the taller building are changed.Z.D. 13On Identical Problems of Natural Convection in Enclosures and Applications of the Identity Character显示文摘In this paper,a concept of “identical problems”of natural convection in enclosures is presented.A pair of problems of natural conyection in enclosures is said to be identical if they look different in appearance but with appropriate selection of coordinates and appropriate definition of dimensionless variables for each problem;they will have identical geometric configurations and identical dimensionless governing equations and related boundary conditions,The identical characteristics of a pair of problems of natural convection in enclosures with an interanl isolated island are demonstrated via dimensionless mathematical formulation and flow visualization results.Numericasl computations are performed and the predicted streamlines agree with the flow visualization results.A number of other possible pairs of identical problems are also presented.Applications of the identical character are provided and assumptions under which the identical problems may exist are discussed.Yang, M. 14Effects of Nb Alloying on Nano-Crystallization Kinetics of Fe_(55-x)Cr_(18)Mo_7B_(16)C_4Nb_x(x=0, 3) Bulk Amorphous Alloys显示文摘Crystallization kinetics of Fe55-xCr18Mo7B16C4Nbx(x= 0, 3) bulk amorphous alloys were analyzed using X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) tests. In practice, crystallization and growth mechanism were evaluated using DSC tests at four different heating rates (10, 20, 30, and 40 K/min) and kinetic models. Two-step crystallization behavior was observed when Fe55Cr18Mo7B16C4 and Fe52Cr18Mo7B16C4Nb3 bulk amorphous alloys were annealed, where Fe36Cr12Mo10 phase was crystallized in the first step of crystallization. Results show that Fe36Cr12Mo10 and Fe3C phases were crystallized in the structures of the alloys after further annealing process. Activation energy for the crystallization of Fe36Cr12Mo10 phase was measured to be 543 kJ/mol in Fe52Cr18Mo7B16C4Nb3 alloy and 375 kJ/mol for Fe55Cr18Mo7B16C4 alloy according to Kissinger-Starink model. Moreover, a two-dimensional diffusion controlled growth mechanism with decreasing nucleation rate was found in Fe52Cr18Mo7B16C4Nb3 alloy whereas a three-dimensional diffusion controlled growth mechanism with decreasing nucleation rate was found in crystallization of Fe36Cr12Mo10 phase dur- ing annealing of Fe55Cr18Mo7B16C4 alloy. TEM (transmission electron microscopy) observations reveal that crystalline Fe36Cr12Mo10 phase nucleated in the structures of the alloys in an average size of 10 nm with completely mottled morphology.S. 15Inhibitory Effect of Recombinant IL-25 on the Development of Dextran Sulfate Sodium-Induced Experimental Colitis in Mice显示文摘The role of interleukin 25 (IL-25) in a number of human diseases still has not been extensively studied, here we attempt to evaluate the role of recombinant IL-25 (rIL-25) in the development of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)- induced experimental colitis. Acute colitis was induced in female C57BL/6 mice by oral administration of 2.5% DSS in drinking water ad libitum. At the same time as the start of DSS exposure, mice were injected intraperitoneally with 0.4 μg of rIL-25 or PBS. Then disease activity index (DAI), histological changes and survival rate were observed. The levels of IL-17, IL-23, and TGF-β1 in colon tissues were determined by ELISA, and the production of IL-17 by CD4+/CD8+ T cells was detected by intracellular flow cytometry. In contrast to the DSS treated mice, DSS + rIL-25 treated mice displayed a lower DAI, limited histological changes and prolonged survival. The levels of IL-23 and TGF-β1 were significantly elevated in the DSS + rIL-25 treated mice compared to the DSS treated mice. There was no significant difference in the production of IL-17 in colon tissues and CD4+/CD8+ T cells between the DSS + rIL-25 treated mice and DSS treated mice. 18跨国界地区地理系统景观功能分区——生态可持续的自然管理(英文)显示文摘在跨国边境地区的诊断分析中采用的对于环境问题进行分析的方法性的理论原则,在许多方面决定了战略行动计划实现的效率。但是我们认为这种跨国边境地区的诊断分析方法应该包括环境和地理制图,以及在陆地景观组织分析的基础上进行的功能性分区。边境地区可持续性自然管理的理论原则是用边界来保护自然资源的潜力或者甚至使之增长。因此景观功能分区会要求对边境区域内各种优先的、许可的和禁止的经济利用的分析。保护性政治制度的确立、把资源管理与维护生态平衡的措施结合和阻止自然与人类的负反馈这3项景观优化原则具体的实现就是跨国边境地区景观功能分区地图,这就是我们认为的边境地区诊断分析的主要目标。在分析陆地景观组织的基础上,本文主要介绍边界地区景观功能分区诊断分析的方法(用于景观规划)。该方法在在中俄边境的Pogranichny-taipailing自然地理区域,利用Landsat-TM图像进行试验和验证。本文的研究表明对边境地区景观结构特征进行诊断分析是必要的,分析包括它的现代经济利用方式、经济活动对景观的干扰、地理景观系统对人类活动压力的敏感性。研究结果通过绘制研究区景观分区地图得以体现,地图科学地证明了举措对于减轻包括边界地区在内的区域环境问题具有一定的价值。这样的方法提供了在保证国家环境安全的原则下,对边境地区自然环境可持续性的管理。Ganzey S.S. 2007地球信息科学2007,9,1:2
19长期浸水引起石膏土CBR减小显示文摘研究石膏含量为 64 %的压实石膏土长期浸水对加利弗尼亚承重系数 (CBR)的影响。依据ASTM(D1 883 -87)规范 ,准备 1 6个以最优含水量压实到AASHTO干密度的 95 %的试样。分为两组 ,每一组在 89N超载负荷下分别浸水 0 ,4,7,1 5 ,3 0 ,60 ,1 2 0 ,1 80d。浸水池中的水要不断更换以避免石膏过饱和。试验显示CBR在浸水期间急剧减小 ,第一个星期尤为明显。之后CBR以较小的速度减小 ,直到 6个月以后土壤强度趋于恒定。随着浸水时间的延续 ,土壤中总的溶性盐和石膏成分的减少与浸水期间CBR的减小完全一致。研究表明 ,4d的浸水时间对此类土壤来说 。S.S.拉索克 O.A.伊尔雅拉比 荣亚红 2000水利水电快报2000,21,6:2
