1ON A CLASS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS RELATED TO CONIC DOMAINS AND ASSOCIATED WITH CARLSON-SHAFFER OPERATOR显示文摘Making use of the Carlson-Shaffer convolution operator, we introduce and study a new class of analytic functions related to conic domains. The main object of this paper is to investigate inclusion relations, coefficient bound for this class. We also show that this class is closed under convolution with a convex function. 2Wheat-Exuded Organic Acids Influence Zinc Release from Calcareous Soils显示文摘Rhizosphere drives plant uptake of sparingly soluble soil zinc(Zn).An investigation with three experiments was conducted to study organic acid exudation by two contrasting wheat genotypes(Sehar-06 and Vatan),Zn fractions in 10 different calcareous soils from Punjab,Pakistan,and release of different soil Zn fractions by organic acids.The two genotypes differed significantly in biomass production and Zn accumulation under deficient and optimum Zn levels in nutrient solution.At a deficient Zn level,Sehar-06 released more maleic acid in the rhizosphere than Vatan.Ten soils used in the present study had very different physicochemical properties;their total Zn and Zn distribution among different fractions varied significantly.Zinc release behaviour was determined by extracting the soils with 0.005 mol L-1 citric acid or maleic acid.The parabolic diffusion model best described Zn release as a function of time.Parabolic diffusion model fitting indicated more maleic acid-driven than citric acid-driven soil Zn mobility from different fractions.Cumulative Zn release in six consecutive extractions during 24 h ranged from 1.85 to 13.58 mg kg-1 using maleic acid and from 0.37 to 11.84 mg kg-1 using citric acid.In the selected calcareous soils,the results of stepwise linear regression indicated significant release of Fe-Mn oxide-bounded soil Zn by maleic acid and its availability to the Zn-effcient genotype.Hence,release of maleic acid by plants roots played an important role in phytoavailability of Zn from calcareous soils.M.A.MAQSOOD S.HUSSAIN T.AZIZ M.ASHRAF 2011Pedosphere2011,21,5:3
3Spectroscopic Study of a Radio-Frequency Atmospheric Pressure Dielectric Barrier Discharge with Anodic Alumina as the Dielectric显示文摘This paper presents the fabrication and a spectroscopic study of a stable radiofrequency dielectric barrier discharge(RF DBD) in Ar with a novel dielectric,anodic alumina,at atmospheric pressure.Dielectric electrodes are fabricated from commercially available low cost impure aluminum strips by a two-step anodization process in 0.3 M solution of oxalic acid.The discharge is found to be stable with excellent spatial uniformity for the RF input power range of 30~80 W.Excitation and rotational temperatures measured in the experiment range of 1472~3255 K and 434~484 K,respectively,as the input power changes from 30 W to 80 W.These temperature ranges are suitable for surface modification applications.H.I.A.QAZI M.SHARIF S.HUSSAIN M.A.BADAR H.AFZAL 2013Plasma Science and Technology2013,15,9:1
4Thermally Radiative Rotating Magneto-Nanofluid Flow over an Exponential Sheet with Heat Generation and Viscous Dissipation:A Comparative Study显示文摘This article examines a mathematical model to analyze the rotating flow of three-dimensional water based nanofluid over a convectively heated exponentially stretching sheet in the presence of transverse magnetic field with additional effects of thermal radiation,Joule heating and viscous dissipation.Silver(Ag),copper(Cu),copper oxide(Cu O),aluminum oxide(Al_2O_3)and titanium dioxide(Ti O_2)have been taken under consideration as the nanoparticles and water(H_2O)as the base fluid.Using suitable similarity transformations,the governing partial differential equations(PDEs)of the modeled problem are transformed to the ordinary differential equations(ODEs).These ODEs are then solved numerically by applying the shooting method.For the particular situation,the results are compared with the available literature.The effects of different nanoparticles on the temperature distribution are also discussed graphically and numerically.It is witnessed that the skin friction coefficient is maximum for silver based nanofluid.Also,the velocity profile is found to diminish for the increasing values of the magnetic parameter.M.Sagheer M.Bilal S.Hussain R.N.Ahmed 2018Communications in Theoretical Physics2018,69,3:1
5Physiological Flow of Jeffrey Six Constant Fluid Model due to Ciliary Motion显示文摘The main purpose of this article is to present a mathematical model of ciliary motion in an annulus. In this analysis, the peristaltic motion of non-Newtonian Jeffrey six constant fluid is observed in an annulus with ciliated tips in the presence of heat and mass transfer. The effects of viscous dissipation are also considered. The flow equations of non-Newtonian fluid for the two-dimensional tube in cylindrical coordinates are simplified using the low Reynolds number and long wave-length approximations. The main equations for Jeffrey six constant fluid are considered in cylindrical coordinates system. The resulting nonlinear problem is solved using the regular perturbation technique in terms of a variant of small dimensionless parameter α. The results of the solutions for velocity, temperature and concentration field are presented graphically. B_k is Brinkman number, ST is soret number, and SH is the Schmidth number. Outcome for the longitudinal velocity, pressure rise, pressure gradient and stream lines are represented through graphs. 7Non Planar Electrostatic Solitary Wave Structures in Negative Ion Degenerate Plasma显示文摘Theoretical and numerical studies are performed for quantum ion acoustic solitons in planar and non-planar geometries in an unmagnetized homogenous plasma consisting of warm positive and negative ions with nonthermal electrons.A deformed Korteweg de Vries(DKdV)equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method.The numerical solution to the DKdV equation indicates that the quantum parameter,temperatures of positive ions,temperture of negative ions and electron density blatantly influence the propagation speed and the structure of quantum ion acoustic solitons.The geometrical effects on the structure of quantum ion acoustic wave are discussed.It is shown that the amplitude and propagation speed in spherical geometry is larger as compared to cylinderical and planar geometries for different values of the above-mentioned parameters.S.Hussain N.Akhtar Saeed-ur-Rehman 2011Chinese Physics Letters2011,28,4:0

9Low Energy Plasma Focus as an Intense X-ray Source for Radiography显示文摘Study on X-ray emission from a low energy (1.8 kJ) plasma focus device powered by a 9μF capacitor bank, charged at 20 kV and giving peak discharge current of about 175 kA by using a lead-inserted copper-tapered anode is reported. The X-ray yield in different energy windows is measured as a function of hydrogen filling pressure. The maximum yield in 4π-geometry is found to be (27.3±1.1) J and corresponding wall plug efficiency for X-ray generation is 1.52±0.06%. X-ray emission, presumably due to bombarding activity of electrons in current sheath at the anode tip was dominant, which is confirmed by the pinhole images. 10MHD Stagnation Point Flow of Williamson Fluid over a Stretching Cylinder with Variable Thermal Conductivity and Homogeneous/Heterogeneous Reaction显示文摘The present study reveals the effect of homogeneous/hetereogeneous reaction on stagnation point flow of Williamson fluid in the presence of magnetohydrodynamics and heat generation/absorption coefficient over a stretching cylinder. Further the effects of variable thermal conductivity and thermal stratification are also considered. The governing partial differential equations are converted to ordinary differential equations with the help of similarity transformation.The system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations is then solved by shooting technique. MATLAB shooting code is validated by comparison with the previously published work in limiting case. Results are further strengthened when the present results are compared with MATLAB built-in function bvp4c. Effects of prominent parameters are deliberated graphically for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. 12Biochar Application Improves the Drought Tolerance in Maize Seedlings显示文摘Application of biochar to agricultural soils is mostly used to improve soil fertility.Experimental treatments were comprised of two factors:i)drought at two level,i.e.,80%and 40%water holding capacity(WHC)which was maintained on gravimetric basis ii)three levels of biochar i.e.,control,2 t ha^(-1) and 4 t ha^(-1) added to soil.Experimentation was done to examine potential of biochar application to enhance the growth attributes,water relations,photosynthetic pigments and antioxidants activities in maize(Zea mays L.)seedlings.Results of study revealed that biochar application increased the growth qualities(total seedlings biomass,dry weight of shoot and root,shoot length and root length).In addition;contents of photosynthetic pigments(chlorophyll a,b,a+b and a/b),water relation(relative water contents,turgor potential,osmotic potential and water potential)were improved significantly due to addition of biochar.Addition of 4 t ha^(-1) biochar led to significant rise activity of enzymatic antioxidant catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and peroxidase(POD)in leaf of maize seedling sunder drought as well as well watered circumstances.However,biochar applied at the rate 4 t ha^(-1) improved the all the physiological and biochemical attributes in maize seedlings under drought.From the results it was concluded that biochar application is an efficient way to alleviate adverse effect of drought stress on maize.In drought prone areas,long term impacts of biochar on production of maize and properties of soil could be recommended as upcoming shove.A.Sattar A.Sher M.Ijaz M.Irfan M.Butt T.Abbas S.Hussain A.Abbas M.S.Ullah M.A.Cheema 2019Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2019,88,4:0
13The Effect of Spectral Index Parameter κ on Obliquely Propagating Solitary Wave Structures in Magneto-Rotating Plasmas显示文摘Nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary wave structures in collisionless,non-relativistic,homogenous,magneto-rotating plasma,in which the electron species follow the kappa distribution function,are studied.The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method,and the effects of different plasma parameters on the obliquely propagating nonlinear solitary wave structures in the magneto-rotating plasma are presented.It is noticed that the spectral index parameter κ significantly modifies the nonlinear wave structure.S.Hussain 2012Chinese Physics Letters2012,29,6:0
