Genesis of sandstone-type uranium deposits along the northern margin of the Ordos Basin,China显示文摘Sandstone-type U mineral resources are among the important sources for nuclear energy. The U deposits in the Ordos Basin in China form part of the northern segment of the sandstone-hosted Central Asian Uranium MegaProvince. Two types of mineralizations are recognized in this basin:'phreatic permeable type'and'interlayer permeable type',both exhibiting features equivalent to roll-front subtypes. The'interlayer permeable type'is widely accepted as the dominant mineralization type for sandstone-type uranium deposits within large-scale basins, also designated as the'interlayer oxidation zone type',based on the horizontal color zoning model representing changing redox conditions. Here we synthesize data from several drill holes within the Ordos Basin, which suggest that major Mesozoic tectonic movements controlled the evolution of the sedimentary system in the basin. These tectonic movements contributed to the formation of three angular unconformities and four parallel unconformities as inferred from the stratigraphic relationships. In addition, other features such as vertical color zoning,paleo-channel controlled tabular or lentoid ore bodies(without roll-type)and a group interlayer horizontal zoning of altered minerals are also documented.Sequence stratigraphic analysis indicates that the Ordos Basin generally witnessed four cycles of water level variations during Mesozoic.During the variations, three high water level and three low water level events were recorded.Biological characteristics imply that the Ordos Basin went through multiple arid to humid climatic evolutions during Mesozoic.Combining the newly documented features with some novel concepts on the hydrodynamic mechanism for supergene ore-forming fluids,we propose a metallogenic model which invokes the importance of tectonic movements and water level fluctuations to explain the genesis of uranium deposits along the northern margin of the Ordos Basin. | Ruoshi Jin Xueming Teng Xiaoguang Li Qinghong Si Wei Wang | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,1: | 13
Structure Styles of Mesozoic-Cenozoic U-bearing Rock Series in Northern China显示文摘In Northern China,sandstone-type uranium(U) deposits are mostly developed in MesozoicCenozoic basins. These U deposits are usually hosted in unvarying horizons within the basins and exhibit typical U-forming sedimentary associations, which is referred to as U-bearing rock series. This study describes the structural features of U-bearing rock series within the main Mesozoic-Cenozoic Uproducing continental basins in Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan, and Russia in the western segment of the Central Asian Metallogenic Belt(CAMB),and Northern China in the eastern segment of the CAMB. We analyze the basic structural conditions and sedimentary environments of U-bearing rock series in Northern China and classify their structural styles in typical basins into river valley, basin margin, and intrabasin uplift margin types. The intrabasin uplift margin structural style proposed in this study can be used to indicate directions for the exploration of sandstone-type U deposits hosted in the center of a basin. At the same time, the study of structural style provides a new idea for exploring sandstone-type U deposits in Mesozoic-Cenozoic basins and it is of great significance to prospecting of sandstone-type uranium deposits. | JIN Ruoshi MIAO Peisen SIMA Xianzhang LI Jianguo ZHAO Hualei ZHAO Fengqing FEN Xiaoxi CHEN Yin CHEN Lulu ZHAO Lijun ZHU Qiang | 2016 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,6: | 12
The First Discovery of a Large Sandstone-type Uranium Deposit in Aeolian Depositional Environment显示文摘The exploration depth of sandstone-type uranium deposits worldwide is mostly less than 700 m,and most of them occur in strata of fluvial facies(Adams et al.,1981;Jin et al.,2016;Hou et al.,2017).Only a few small uranium deposits have been reported in aeolian depositional environments(Isachsen et al.,1955;Li et al.,2001).In the Pcngyang Jingchuan region of the southwestern Ordos Basin, uranium ore bodies with large thickness and high grade in the aeolian sandstone of the Luohe Formation were newly found at depths from 700 to 1500 m,which have laid the foundation for increasing the uranium resources significantly in the Ordos Basin. | MIAO Peisen JIN Ruoshi LI Jianguo ZHAO Hualei CHEN Lulu CHEN Yin SI Qinghong | 2020 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,2: | 12
Saliva: potential diagnostic value and transmission of 2019-nCoV显示文摘2019-n Co V epidemic was firstly reported at late December of 2019 and has caused a global outbreak of COVID-19 now.Saliva,a biofluid largely generated from salivary glands in oral cavity, has been reported 2019-n Co V nucleic acid positive.Besides lungs, salivary glands and tongue are possibly another hosts of 2019-n Co V due to expression of ACE2.Close contact or short-range transmission of infectious saliva droplets is a primary mode for 2019-n Co V to disseminate as claimed by WHO,while long-distance saliva aerosol transmission is highly environment dependent within indoor space with aerosol-generating procedures such as dental practice. So far,no direct evidence has been found that 2019-n Co V is vital in air flow for long time. Therefore,to prevent formation of infectious saliva droplets,to thoroughly disinfect indoor air and to block acquisition of saliva droplets could slow down2019-n Co V dissemination. This review summarizes diagnostic value of saliva for 2019-n Co V,possibly direct invasion into oral tissues, and close contact transmission of 2019-n Co V by saliva droplets, expecting to contribute to 2019-n Co V epidemic control. | Ruoshi Xu Bomiao Cui Xiaobo Duan Ping Zhang Xuedong Zhou Quan Yuan | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,2: | 9
The 600-mm precipitation isoline distinguishes tree-ring-width responses to climate in China显示文摘The numerous temperature and precipitation reconstructions in China based on tree-ring-width data have played significant roles in furthering the understanding of past climate changes. However, the geographical variability in the responses of trees to climate variations in China remains largely undetermined. Here, we describe an important spatial boundary in the response of trees to climate variations, namely the 600-mm annual precipitation isoline. We found that, to the north of this line, tree-ring widths are usually positively correlated with precipitation and negatively correlated with growing-season temperature. To the south of this line, the tree-ring widths respond positively to temperature, and winter half-year temperatures are the main reconstructed parameters, especially on the third topographical step of China. We also found that precipitation reconstructions based on tree-ring data and the Palmer Drought Severity Index almost exclusively fall in the region of the 200- to 600-mm annual precipitation isolines, not other regions. Our findings indicate that, when using multiple tree-ring-width chronologies for large-scale past climate reconstructions, the climatic signal of each tree-ring-width series should be carefully considered. | Yu Liu Huiming Song Changfeng Sun Yi Song Qiufang Cai Ruoshi Liu Ying Lei Qiang Li | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,2: | 8
Gα_s signaling controls intramembranous ossification during cranial bone development by regulating both Hedgehog and Wnt/β-catenin signaling显示文摘How osteoblast cells are induced is a central question for understanding skeletal formation. Abnormal osteoblast differentiation leads to a broad range of devastating craniofacial diseases. Here we have investigated intramembranous ossification during cranial bone development in mouse models of skeletal genetic diseases that exhibit craniofacial bone defects. The GNAS gene encodes Gαs that transduces GPCR signaling. GNAS activation or loss-of-function mutations in humans cause fibrous dysplasia(FD) or progressive osseous heteroplasia(POH) that shows craniofacial hyperostosis or craniosynostosis, respectively. We find here that, while Hh ligand-dependent Hh signaling is essential for endochondral ossification, it is dispensable for intramembranous ossification, where Gαsregulates Hh signaling in a ligand-independent manner. We further show that Gαscontrols intramembranous ossification by regulating both Hh and Wnt/β-catenin signaling. In addition, Gαsactivation in the developing cranial bone leads to reduced ossification but increased cartilage presence due to reduced cartilage dissolution, not cell fate switch. Small molecule inhibitors of Hh and Wnt signaling can effectively ameliorate cranial bone phenotypes in mice caused by loss or gain of Gnas function mutations, respectively. Our work shows that studies of genetic diseases provide invaluable insights in both pathological bone defects and normal bone development, understanding both leads to better diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of bone diseases. | Ruoshi Xu Sanjoy Kumar Khan Taifeng Zhou Bo Gao Yaxing Zhou Xuedong Zhou Yingzi Yang | 2018 | Bone Research2018,6,4: | 7
Ratiometric delivery of doxorubicin and berberine by liposome enables superior therapeutic index than Doxil?显示文摘Although the appearance of Doxil alleviated the cardiotoxicity of DOX, the progression-free survival of patients was not prolonged compared with traditional medication regimens, and side effects such as hand-foot syndrome has occurred. In order to solve this dilemma, we have designed a novel co-delivery strategy to construct a co-loaded liposome of berberine(BER) and doxorubicin(DOX), which was called Lipo Be Do. The optimal synergistic ratio of the two drugs was screened by cell cytotoxicity experiments in vitro, and the optimal attenuation ratio was further determined by in vivo cardiac H&E staining pathological sections. The optimal combination treatment caused a robust increase in apoptotic cells of 4T1, as compared to drug alone treatment. The prepared co-loaded liposome, Lipo Be Do, had high encapsulation efficiency and good stability. The nanoliposome carrier controlled the biological fate of the drugs and maintained a pre-defined optimal ratio in vivo. The Lipo Be Do significantly inhibited tumor growth in 4T1 murine mammary carcinoma model compared with Doxil(P < 0.05), and completely overcame the myocardial rupture toxicity caused by Doxil in mice. Our co-loaded liposome delivery platform technology provided a new direction for the clinical treatment of triple-negative breast cancer and the safe application of DOX. | Ruoshi Zhang Yingxi Zhang Yue Zhang Xin Wang Xuanming Gao Yuyan Liu Xuanbo Zhang Zhonggui He Dun Wang Yongjun Wang | 2020 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,3: | 4
AFF4 regulates osteogenic differentiation of human dental follicle cells显示文摘As a member of the AFF(AF4/FMR2)family,AFF4 is a transcription elongation factor that is a component of the super elongation complex.AFF4 serves as a scaffolding protein that connects transcription factors and promotes gene transcription through elongation and chromatin remodelling. Here,we investigated the effect of AFF4 on human dental follicle cells(DFCs)in osteogenic differentiation. In this study,we found that small interfering RNA-mediated depletion of AFF4 resulted in decreased alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity and impaired mineralization. In addition, the expression of osteogenic-related genes(DLX5,SP7,RUNX2 and BGLAP)was significantly downregulated. In contrast,lentivirus-mediated overexpression of AFF4 significantly enhanced the osteogenic potential of human DFCs.Mechanistically,we found that both the mRNA and protein levels of ALKBH1,a critical regulator of epigenetics, changed in accordance with AFF4 expression levels.Overexpression of ALKBH1 in AFF4-depleted DFCs partially rescued the impairment of osteogenic differentiation. Our data indicated that AFF4 promoted the osteogenic differentiation of DFCs by upregulating the transcription of ALKBH1. | Qingyue Xiao Yuning Zhang Xingying Qi Yaqian Chen Rui Sheng Ruoshi Xu Quan Yuan Chenchen Zhou | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4: | 4
Klotho in Osx+-mesenchymal progenitors exerts pro-osteogenic and anti-inflammatory effects during mandibular alveolar bone formation and repair显示文摘Maxillofacial bone defects are commonly seen in clinical practice.A clearer understanding of the regulatory network directing maxillofacial bone formation will promote the development of novel therapeutic approaches for bone regeneration. The fibroblast growth factor(FGF)signalling pathway is critical for the development of maxillofacial bone.Klotho,a type I transmembrane protein,is an important components of FGF receptor complexes.Recent studies have reported the presence of Klotho expression in bone. However, the role of Klotho in cranioskeletal development and repair remains unknown. Here,we use a genetic strategy to report that deletion of Klotho in Osx-positive mesenchymal progenitors leads to a significant reduction in osteogenesis under physiological and pathological conditions.Klotho-deficient mensenchymal progenitors also suppress osteoclastogenesis in vitro and in vivo.Under conditions of inflammation and trauma-induced bone loss,we find that Klotho exerts an inhibitory function on inflammation-induced TNFR signaling by attenuating Rankl expression.More importantly,we show for the first time that Klotho is present in human alveolar bone, with a distinct expression pattern under both normal and pathological conditions. In summary, our results identify the mechanism whereby Klotho expressed in Osx+-mensenchymal progenitors controls osteoblast differentiation and osteoclastogenesis during mandibular alveolar bone formation and repair.Klotho-mediated signaling is an important component of alveolar bone remodeling and regeneration. It may also be a target for future therapeutics. | Yi Fan Chen Cui Clifford JRosen Tadatoshi Sato Ruoshi Xu Peiran Li Xi Wei Ruiye Bi Quan Yuan Chenchen Zhou | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,6: | 3
Ecosystem health towards sustainability显示文摘Ecosystems are becoming damaged or degraded as a result of stresses especially associated with human activities.A healthy ecosystem is essential to provide the services that humans and the natural environment require and has tremendous social and economic value.Exploration of the definition of ecosystem health includes what constitutes health and what it means to be healthy. To evaluate ecosystem health,it is necessary to quantify ecosystem conditions using a variety of indicators. In this paper, the main principles and criteria for indicator selection, classification of indicators for different kinds of ecosystems, the most appropriate indicators for measuring ecosystem sustainability, and various methods and models for the assessment of ecosystem health are presented.Drivers, sustainability, and resilience are considered to be critical factors for ecosystem health and its assessment.Effective integration of ecological understanding with socioeconomic, biophysical, biogeochemical, and public-policy dimensions is still the primary challenge in this field, and devising workable strategies to achieve and maintain ecosystem health is a key future challenge. | Yonglong Lu Ruoshi Wang Yueqing Zhang Hongqiao Su Pei Wang Alan Jenkins Rober C.Ferrier Mark Bailey Geoff Squire | 2015 | Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2015,1,1: | 3
Genomic and transcriptomic analysis unveils population evolution and development of pesticide resistance in fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda显示文摘The fall armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda,is a destructive pest native to America and has recently become an invasive insect pest in China.Because of its rapid spread and great risks in China, understanding of FAW genetic background and pesticide resistance is urgent and essential to develop effective management strategies. Here,we assembled a chromosome-level genome of a male FAW(SFynMstLFR)and compared re-sequencing results of the populations from America,Africa, and China.Strain identification of 163 individuals collected from America,Africa and China showed that both C and R strains were found in the American pop-ulations,while only C strain was found in the Chinese and African populations. Moreover, population geno-mics analysis showed that populations from Africa and China have close relationship with significantly genetic differentiation from American populations.Taken toge-ther,FAWs invaded into China were most likely origi-nated from Africa.Comparative genomics analysis displayed that the cytochrome p450 gene family is extremely expanded to 425 members in FAW,of which 283 genes are specific to FAW.Treatments of Chinese populations with twenty-three pesticides showed the variant patterns of transcriptome profiles, and several detoxification genes such as AOX,UGT and GST spe-cially responded to the pesticides. These findings will be useful in developing effective strategies for manage-ment of FAW in China and other invaded areas. | Furong Gui Tianming Lan Yue Zhao Wei Guo Yang Dong Dongming Fang Huan Liu Haimeng Li Hongli Wang Ruoshi Hao Xiaofang Cheng Yahong Li Pengcheng Yang Sunil Kumar Sahu Yaping Chen Le Cheng Shuqi He Ping Liu Guangyi Fan Haorong Lu Guohai Hu Wei Dong Bin Chen Yuan Jiang Yongwei Zhang Hanhong Xu Fei Lin Bernard Slippers Alisa Postma Matthew Jackson Birhan Addisie Abate Kassahun Tesfaye Aschalew Lemma Demie Meseret Destaw Bayeleygne Dawit Tesfaye Degefu Feng Chen Paul K.Kuria Zachary M.Kinyua Tong-Xian Liu Huanming Yang Fangneng Huang Xin Liu Jun Sheng Le Kang | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,7: | 2
METTL3-mediated m^(6)A RNA methylation regulates dorsal lingual epithelium homeostasis显示文摘The dorsal lingual epithelium, which is composed of taste buds and keratinocytes differentiated from K14^(+)basal cells, discriminates taste compounds and maintains the epithelial barrier.N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is the most abundant mRNA modification in eukaryotic cells. How METTL3-mediated m^(6)A modification regulates K14^(+)basal cell fate during dorsal lingual epithelium formation and regeneration remains unclear. Here we show knockout of Mettl3 in K14^(+)cells reduced the taste buds and enhanced keratinocytes.Deletion of Mettl3 led to increased basal cell proliferation and decreased cell division in taste buds.Conditional Mettl3 knock-in mice showed little impact on taste buds or keratinization, but displayed increased proliferation of cells around taste buds in a protective manner during post-irradiation recovery.Mechanically,we revealed that the most frequent m^(6)A modifications were enriched in Hippo and Wnt signaling, and specific peaks were observed near the stop codons of Lats1 and FZD7.Our study elucidates that METTL3 is essential for taste bud formation and could promote the quantity recovery of taste bud after radiation. | Qiuchan Xiong Caojie Liu Xin Zheng Xinyi Zhou Kexin Lei Xiaohan Zhang Qian Wang Weimin Lin Ruizhan Tong Ruoshi Xu Quan Yuan | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3: | 2

Theoretical System of Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposits in Northern China显示文摘Many theoretical results on sandstone-type uranium mineralization in northern China obtained by the uranium research team of the Tianjin Center of Geological Survey in recent years are presented. From the source sink system of uranium-producing basins, sedimentary environment of uranium-bearing rock series,ore-forming fluid information, evolution of tectonic events, basin formation and development,we redefine and classify uranium orebodies, redox zoning, and ore-controlling structural styles. We then systematically propose a theoretical system of sandstone-type uranium deposits in northern China. We conclude that sandstone-type uranium deposits in northern China are mainly found in sedimentary environments such as rivers, deltas, and alluvial fans in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic lowstand systems tract and in gray sandstone layers in the vertical redox zoning. The orebodies are controlled by the tectonic slope belt, which is in the shape of a strip on the plane, and spreads in a layer or plate on the section.Vertical(ups and downs)tectonic movement triggers large-scale phreatic flow in the basin, which is the real driving force for controlling the ore-forming fluid. The theoretical system of sandstone-type uranium deposits in northern China should be based on global tectonic movement and environmental changes and take into account factors such as basins as a unit to study mineralization background, ore concentration areas as objects to study mineralization, and the correlation between regional tectonic movement and metallogenic process as a breakthrough point to study tectonic events and metallogenic events. It should also be based on different basin types to establish metallogenic models. The innovative research results and ideas are summarized with the aim of promoting the continuous improvement of sandstone-type uranium mineralization theory in northern China. | Ruoshi Jin Huajian Liu Xiaoguang Li | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022,33,2: | 2
Association of Sandstone-Type Uranium Mineralization in the Northern China with Tectonic Movements and Hydrocarbons显示文摘In the continental basins of Northern China(NC),a series of energy resources commonly co-exist in the same basin. As the three typical superimposed basins of different genesis in the NC,the Junggar,Ordos, and Songliao basins were chosen as the research objects. The favorable uraniumbearing structures are generally shown as a basin-margin slope or transition belt of uplifts with the development of faults, which are conducive to a fluid circulation system. The Hercynian,Indosinian, and Yanshanian movements resulted in the development of uranium-rich intrusions which acted as the significant uranium sources. The main hydrocarbon source rocks are developed in the Carboniferous,Permian,Jurassic and Cretaceous. The mature stage of source rocks is concentrated in the Jurassic–Cretaceous, followed by the multi-stage expulsion events.Influenced by the India-Eurasian collision and the subduction of the Pacific Plate, the tectonic transformation in the Late Yanshanian and Himalayan periods significantly influenced the sandstone-type uranium mineralization. The hydrocarbon reservoirs are spatially consistent with sandstone-type uranium deposits, while the hydrocarbon expulsion events occur in sequence with sandstone-type uranium mineralization. In the periphery of the faults or the uplifts, both fluids met and formed uranium concentration. The regional tectonic movements motivate the migration of hydrocarbon fluids and uranium mineralization, especially the Himalayan movement. | Yin Chen Peisen Miao Jianguo Li Ruoshi Jin Hualei Zhao Lulu Chen CongWang HaoyuYu Xiaoru Zhang | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022,33,2: | 2

Disturbed bone remodelling activity varies in different stages of experimental, gradually progressive apical periodontitis in rats显示文摘Bone remodelling keeps going through the lifespan of human by bone formation and bone resorption. In the craniofacial region, mandibles act as the main force for biting and chewing, and also become susceptible to a common bone-loss disease, namely, apical periodontitis, once infected dental pulp is not treated timely, during which bone resorption occurs from the apical foramen to the apical bone area.Although conventional root canal treatment(RCT)can remove the most of the infection, chronical apical periodontitis due to incomplete removal of dental pulp and subsequent microleakage will become refractory and more challenging, and this process has scarcely been specifically studied as a bone remodelling issue in rat models. Therefore,to study chronical and refractory apical periodontitis owing to incomplete cleaning of infected dental pulp and microleackage in vivo,we establish a modified rat model of gradually progressive apical periodontitis by sealing residual necrotic dental pulp and introducing limited saliva, which simulates gradually progressive apical periodontitis,as observed in the clinical treatment of chronical and refractory apical periodontitis. We show that bone-loss is inevitable and progressive in this case of apical periodontitis, which confirms again that complete and sound root canal treatment is crucial to halt the progression of chronical and refractory apical periodontitis and promote bone formation.Interestingly, bone remodelling was enhanced at the initial stage of apical periodontitis in this model while reduced with a high osteoblast number afterwards,as shown by the time course study of the modified model.Suggesting that the pathological apical microenvironment reserve its hard tissue formation ability to some degree but in a disturbed manner.Hopefully, our findings can provide insights for future bone regenerative treatment for apical periodontitisassociated bone loss. | Ruoshi Xu Daimo Guo Xuedong Zhou Jianxun Sun Yachuan Zhou Yi Fan Xin Zhou Mian Wan Wei Du Liwei Zheng | 2019 | International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,4: | 1
