1Expression and function of classical protein kinase C isoenzymes in gastric cancer cell line and its drugresistant sublines显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression and function of classicalprotein kinase C (PKC) isoenzymes in inducing MDRphenotype in gastric cancer cells.METHODS: Two cell lines were used in the study: gastriccancer cell SGC7901 and its drug-resistant cell SGC7901/VCRstepwise-selected by vincristine 0.3, 0. 7 and 1.0 mg@ L-1 ,respectively. The expression of classical PKC (cPKC)isoenzymes in SGC7901 cells and SGC7901/VCR cells weredetected using immunofluorescent cytochemistry, laserconfocal scanning microscope and Wsstern blot. The effectsof anti-PKC isoenzymes antibody of adriamycinaccumulation in SGC7901/VCR cells were determined usingflow cytometric analysis.RESULTS: (1) SGC7901 cells exhibited positive staining ofPKC-α. SGC7901/VCR cells exhibited stronger staining ofPKC-α than SGC7901 cells. The higher dosage vincristineselected, the much stronger staining of PKC-α was observedon SGC7901/VCR cells. (2) Both SGC7901 and SGC7901/VCRcells exhibited positive staining of PKC-βⅠ and PKC-βⅡ withno significant difference. ( 3 ) Compared with SGC7901,SGC7901/VCR cells had decreased adriamycin accumulationand retention. Accumulation of adriamycin in SGC7901 was5.21 + 2.56 mg@ L-1, in SGC7901/VCR 0.3 was 0.85 + 0.29 mg@L-1 , in SGC7901/VCR 0.7 was 0.81 + 0.32 og@ L-1 , and inSGC7901NCR 1.0 was 0.80 + 0.33 mg @ L-1; Retention ofadriamycin in SGC 7901 was 2.51 + 1.23 mg@L-1, in SGC7901/VCR 0.3 was 0.47 + 0.14 mg@ L-1 , in SGC7901/VCR 0.7 was 0.44 + 0.15 mg@ L-1, and in SGC 7901/VCR 1.0 was 0.41 + 0.1 1mg @ L-1 . 2Significant carbon isotope excursions in the Cambrian and their implications for global correlations显示文摘The existing 13C data in the Cambrian from different regions of the world are analyzed here.There are four well-documented carbon isotope excursions with global significance.In ascending order,they are:(1) a large negative excursion,comparable to 'BACE' (BAsal Cambrian Carbon isotope Excursion) event,which occurs near the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary with a magnitude of 4‰-10‰ (PDB);(2) the 'ZHUCE' (ZHUjiaqing Carbon isotope Excursion) event,a distinct positive excursion (over 5‰) that can be recognized at the Fortunian Stage to Stage 2 transition;(3) another strong negative one,so-called 'ROECE' (Redlichiid-Olenellid Extinction Carbon isotope Excursion) event,shifting at the interval between Series 2 and Series 3,peaking at 3‰-5‰ (PDB);(4) the famous Steptoean positive carbon isotope excursion (SPICE),which has been widely identified at the base of Furongian Series,Paibian Stage,with an amplitude about 4‰ (PDB).The four sharp δ 13 C shifts correlate well with coeval paleoceanographic changes and bioevents.Besides,there are some 13 C excursions from a few sections in previous studies,and more data are required to identify whether they are global or regional ones.FAN Ru DENG ShengHui ZHANG XueLei 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,11:16

4The effects of Xingnao Jieyu capsules on post-stroke depression are similar to those of fluoxetine显示文摘The Xingnao Jieyu capsule has been shown to effectively relieve neurologic impairments and lessen depression. It remains poorly understood whether this capsule can be used to treat post-stroke depression. Thus, in the present study, we established a rat model of post-stroke depression using left middle cerebral artery occlusions in combination of chronic unpredictable stress and solitary housing during development. Experimental rats received intragastric perfusion with 0.82, 0.41, and 0.20 g/kg Xingnao Jieyu capsules separately dissolved in 2 mL distilled water. Fluoxetine served as a positive control. The treatment was conducted over 28 days. Sugar water consumption test, open-field test, real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR and immunohistochemical staining results demonstrated that intragastric perfusion with various doses of Xingnao Jieyu capsules increased sugar water consumption, voluntary behaviors and synaptotagmin mRNA and protein expression in rats with post-stroke depression. These therapeutic effects were similar to those of fluoxetine. 5Hydrodynamics of a Newly China-Made Jiuling Bileaflet Heart Valve Prostheses显示文摘Jiuling bileaflet prosthetic heart valve is manufactured in compliance with the national standard of P.R.C. GB12279 90. This mechanical heart valve substitute is constructed entirely of solid low temperature pyrolytic carbon. There is no graphite substrate within the leaflets or orifice. This prosthesis presents with satisfactory histocompatibility and induces little hemocoagulation around it. Objective: This study aimed to assess the hydrodynamic function of the newly China made Jiuling bileaflet heart valve prostheses. Methods: Jiuling valve has been tested in a pulsatile flow simulator in the aortic position. The testing condition was set at the pulsatile frequency of 55, 75, and 100 beats/min and a constant cardiac output of 4 L/min. The mean pressure differences, leakage volumes and closing volumes across each valve, and the effective orifice areas have been analyzed. Results: The Jiuling heart valves prosthesis had the lowest pressure difference at any given tissue annulus diameter. The mean pressure difference of all the Jiuling valves decreases with increasing the tissue annulus diameter or pulse frequency, and is in the range of below 10 mmHg. CarboMedics (CarboMedics, Inc., Austin, Tex.) is similar to that of the 21 mm and 23 mm Jiuling heart valves at the given pulse rate under 4 L/min. C L tilting disc valve (Lanzhou CarboMedics Inc., China) is similar to that of the 23 mm Jiuling heart valve. The effective orifice area of the Jiuling mechanical valve increases with increasing the tissue annulus diameter or pulse frequency. CarboMedics and C L tilting disc valve is similar to that of the 21 mm and 23 mm Jiuling heart valves. The Closing volume of the Jiuling prosthetic cardiac valves increases with increasing the tissue annulus diameter, but decreases with increasing the pulse frequency, and is in the range of below 11% (normalized by stroke volume). CarboMedics is below 16.5% of stroke volume; and C L tilting disc valve is below 7.5%. The leakage volume of the Jiuling prosthetic cardiac valves increases with increasing the tissue annulus diameter, but decreases with increasing the pulse frequency, and are in the range of below 28.9% (normalized by stroke volume). The leakage volume of CarboMedics is higher than that of the same sized 25 mm Jiuling valve, and the C L tilting disc valve is also higher than that of Jiuling valve at 4 L/min. Conclusion: For a given tissue diameter, the Jiuling valve showed significantly better hemodynamic characteristics. The material used in the construction is biocompatible, durable, and thromboresistant. 6Enhanced wetting and properties of carbon/carbon-Cu composites with Cr_3C_2 coatings by Cr-solution immersion method显示文摘A facile ammonium-dichromate solution immersion method was introduced to synthesize the copperwettable Cr_3C_2 coating on and inside the carbon-carbon(C/C) preform. The formation mechanism and the microstructures of the Cr_3C_2 coatings were studied. The contact angle between molten copper and the C/C decreased from 140? to 60?, demonstrating the significant improvement in the wettability. The Cr_3C_2-coated C/C-Cu composite with only 4.2% porosity and 3.69 g cm^(-3) density was manufactured through copper infiltration. As a result, the thermal and electrical conductivity of the modified C/C-Cu increased significantly due to the infiltrated copper. Also the mechanical properties of the composites including both the flexural and compressive strengths were enhanced by over 100%. The modified C/C-Cu composite exhibited lower friction coefficients and wear rates for different load levels than those of the commercial C/Cu composite. 7Smart elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensors for stress monitoring of steel structures in railway infrastructures显示文摘Steel structures are widely used in railway infrastructures.Their stress state is the most important determinant of the safety of these structures.The elasto-magnetic (EM) sensor is the most promising for stress monitoring of in-service steel structures.Nevertheless,the necessity of magnetic excitation to saturation due to the use of a secondary coil for signal detection,keeps from its engineering application.In this paper,a smart elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensor using magneto-electric (ME) sensing units to take the place of the secondary coil has been exploited for the first time.The ME sensing unit is made of ME laminated composites,which has an ultrahigh ME voltage coefficient and can measure the magnetic induction simply and precisely.Theoretical analysis and characterization experiments firstly conducted on the ME laminated composites showed that the ME sensing units can be applied in the EM sensor for improved performance in stress monitoring.A tension test of a steel bar was carried out to characterize our smart EME sensor and the results showed high accuracy and sensitivity.The present smart EME sensor is a promising tool for stress monitoring of steel structures in railway and other civil infrastructures.Yuan-feng DUAN Ru ZHANG Yang ZHAO Siu-wing OR Ke-qing FAN Zhi-feng TANG 2011Journal of Zhejiang University-Science A(Applied Physics & Engineering)2011,12,12:4
8Influence of external electric field on piezotronic effect in ZnO nanowires显示文摘In this work, the piezotronic effect is investigated for the first time in external electric fields ranging from 0 V·cm-I to 2,000 V·cm-1 by using n-type ZnO nanowires supported by a flexible substrate. In the presence of an external electric field, the Schottky barrier height (SBH) is lowered by the image force, allowing more free carriers to pass through the metal-semiconductor junction and enhancing the screening effect on positive piezoelectric polarization charges. As the strength of the external electric field increases, the piezotronic effect is significantly suppressed and the metal-semiconductor contact finally exhibits Ohmic behavior. The experimental results show that devices can be classified into three groups, corresponding to low, moderate, and high carrier densities of the nanowires used. 9Dual-polarization programmable metasurface modulator for near-field information encoding and transmission显示文摘Controlling the polarization state of electromagnetic waves is an important topic in microwaves due to the enormous application potential in radar technology and mobile communications. Here, we propose a programmable metasurface based on single-pole double-throw switches to realize multifunctional polarization conversions.A structure of the double-sided metallic pattern is adopted in the metasurface, in which a novel double-pole double-throw hub is achieved to guide the energy direction. Such a mechanism successfully induces multiple transmission channels into the metasurface structure for functional design. By controlling the states of the switches with a field programmable gate array, the x-and y-polarizations of the incident waves can be efficiently modulated into linear co-and cross-polarizations of transmitted waves, suggesting a higher degree of freedom on wave manipulations. The proposed metasurface can be developed as a near-field information encoder to transmit binary coding sequence according to the energy distribution. Character transmissions are realized by programming binary ASCII codes on the transmitted fields. Nine supercells on the metasurface can encode 9-bit binary information in one frame of near-field imaging, which can be switched in real time with high speed. 11Emerging Devices Based on Two-Dimensional Monolayer Materials for Energy Harvesting显示文摘Two-dimensional(2-D)materials of atomic thickness have attracted considerable interest due to their excellent electrical,optoelectronic,mechanical,and thermal properties,which make them attractive for electronic devices,sensors,and energy systems.Scavenging the otherwise wasted energy from the ambient environment into electrical power holds promise to address the emerging energy needs,in particular for the portable and wearable devices.The versatile properties of 2-D materials together with their atomically thin body create diverse possibilities for the conversion of ambient energy.The present review focuses on the recent key advances in emerging energy-harvesting devices based on monolayer 2-D materials through various mechanisms such as photovoltaic,thermoelectric,piezoelectric,triboelectric,and hydrovoltaic devices,as well as progress for harvesting the osmotic pressure and Wi-Fi wireless energy.The representative achievements regarding the monolayer heterostructures and hybrid devices are also discussed.Finally,we provide a discussion of the challenges and opportunities for 2-D monolayer material-based energy-harvesting devices in the development of self-powered electronics and wearable technologies.Feng Ru Fan Wenzhuo Wu 2019Research2019,,1:3
12Concentrating partially entangledW-class states on nonlocal atoms using low-Q optical cavity and linear optical elements显示文摘Entanglement plays an important role in quantum information science, especially in quantum communications. Here we present an efficient entanglement concentration protocol(ECP) for nonlocal atom systems in the partially entangled W-class states, using the single-photon input-output process regarding low-Q cavity and linear optical elements. Compared with previously published ECPs for the concentration of non-maximally entangled atomic states, our protocol is much simpler and more efficient as it employs the Faraday rotation in cavity quantum electrodynamics(QED) and the parameter-splitting method. The Faraday rotation requires the cavity with low-Q factor and weak coupling to the atom, which makes the requirement for entanglement concentration much less stringent than the previous methods, and achievable with current cavity QED techniques. The parameter-splitting method resorts to linear-optical elements only. 14Subdivision and age of the Yanchang Formation and the Middle/Upper Triassic boundary in Ordos Basin, North China显示文摘The Yanchang Formation is extensively developed in the Ordos Basin and its surrounding regions. As one of the best terrestrial Triassic sequences in China and the major oil-gas bearing formations in the Ordos Basin, its age determination and stratigraphic assignment are important in geological survey and oil-gas exploration. It had been attributed to the Late Triassic and regarded as the typical representative of the Upper Triassic in northern China for a long time, although some scholars had already proposed that the lower part of this formation should be of the Middle Triassic age in the mid-late 20 th century. In this paper, we suggest that the lower and middle parts of the Yanchang Formation should be of the Ladinian and the bottom possibly belongs to the late Anisian of the Middle Triassic, mainly based on new fossils found in it and high resolution radiometric dating results. The main source rocks, namely the oil shales and mudstones of the Chang-7, are of the Ladinian Age. The upper part of the Yanchang Formation, namely the Chang-6 and the above parts, belongs to the Late Triassic. The uppermost of the Triassic is missed in most parts of the Ordos Basin. The Middle-Upper Triassic Series boundary lies in the Yanchang Formation, equivalent to the boundary between Chang-7 and Chang-6. The Ladinian is an important palaeoenvironmental turning point in the Ordos Basin. Palaeoenvironmental changes in the basin are coincidence with that of the Sichuan Basin and the main tectonic movement of the Qinling Mountains. 15Impaired Parahippocampal Gyrus-Orbitofrontal Cortex Circuit Associated with Visuospatial Memory Deficit as a Potential Biomarker and Interventional Approach for Alzheimer Disease显示文摘The parahippocampal gyrus-orbitofrontal cortex(PHG-OFC)circuit in humans is homologous to the postrhinal cortex(POR)-ventral lateral orbitofrontal cortex(vlOFC)circuit in rodents.Both are associated with visuospatial malfunctions in Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However,the underlying mechanisms remain to be elucidated.In this study,we explored the relationship between an impaired POR-vlOFC circuit and visuospatial memory deficits through retrograde tracing and in vivo local field potential recordings in 5XFAD mice,and investigated alterations of the PHG-OFC circuit by multi-domain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in patients on the AD spectrum.We demonstrated that an impaired glutamatergic POR-vlOFC circuit resulted in deficient visuospatial memory in 5XFAD mice.Moreover,MRI measurements of the PHG-OFC circuit had an accuracy of 77.33%for the classification of amnestic mild cognitive impairment converters versus non-converters.Thus,the PHG-OFC circuit explains the neuroanatomical basis of visuospatial memory deficits in AD,thereby providing a potential predictor for AD progression and a promising interventional approach for AD.Lin Zhu Zan Wang Zhanhong Du Xinyang Qi Hao Shu Duan Liu Fan Su Qing Ye Xuemei Liu Zheng Zhou Yongqiang Tang Ru Song Xiaobin Wang Li Lin Shijiang Li Ying Han Liping Wang Zhijun Zhang 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,8:2
16Two-dimensional correlation analysis of continuous online in situ ATR-FTIR on the adsorption of butyl xanthate at the surface of α-PbO显示文摘The adsorption behavior of butyl xanthate on the surface of lead oxide was investigated using continuous online in situ attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy technique and two dimensional(2D) correlation analysis.The adsorbed layer studied was prepared by coating α-PbO particles onto the surfaces of the ZnSe crystal.The appearance of spectral peaks at 1203 cm^(-1),1033 cm^(-1) and their red shift indicated the formation and aggregation of xanthate at the surface of α-PbO.According to 1R intensity changes after rinsing with deionized water and a NaOH solution,the adsorption was proved to be a chemisorption type.The competition between xanthate and OH for the surfaces leads to desorption of xanthate at higher pH.The technique of 2D correlation ATR-FTIR spectroscopy was used to evaluate the changing order of spectral intensities in the adsorption process,and the results indicated that xanthate micelles were formed at the surfaces.The adsorption kinetics of butyl xanthate was found to be a pseudo-second-order reaction model and the adsorption capacity of butyl xanthate at α-PbO was as high as 281 mg g^(-1) after 150 min.Qi Shen Ying-Ju Fan Wei-Min Zhang Bo-Li Zhu Ru Wang Zhong-Xi Sun 2015Chinese Chemical Letters2015,26,2:2

18Associations between cancer family history and esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions in high-risk areas of China显示文摘Background:Family clustering of esophageal cancer(EC)has been found in high-risk areas of China.However,the relationships between cancer family history and esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions(ECPL)have not been comprehensively reported in recent years.This study aimed to provide evidence for identification of high-risk populations.Methods:This study was conducted in five high-risk areas in China from 2017 to 2019,based on the National Cohort of Esophageal Cancer.The permanent residents aged 40 to 69 years were examined by endoscopy,and pathological examination was performed for suspicious lesions.Information on demographic characteristics,environmental factors,and cancer family history was collected.Unconditional logistic regression was applied to evaluate odds ratios between family history related factors and ECPL.Results:Among 33,008 participants,6143(18.61%)reported positive family history of EC.The proportion of positive family history varied significantly among high-risk areas.After adjusting for risk factors,participants with a family history of positive cancer,gastric and esophageal cancer or EC had 1.49-fold(95%confidence interval[CI]:1.36-1.62),1.52-fold(95%CI:1.38-1.67),or 1.66-fold(95%CI:1.50-1.84)higher risks of ECPL,respectively.Participants with single or multiple first-degree relatives(FDR)of positive EC history had 1.65-fold(95%CI:1.47-1.84)or 1.93-fold(95%CI:1.46-2.54)higher risks of ECPL.Participants with FDRs who developed EC before 35,45,and 50 years of age had 4.05-fold(95%CI:1.30-12.65),2.11-fold(95%CI:1.37-3.25),and 1.91-fold(95%CI:1.44-2.54)higher risks of ECPL,respectively.Conclusions:Participants with positive family history of EC had significantly higher risk of ECPL.This risk increased with the number of EC positive FDRs and EC family history of early onset.Distinctive genetic risk factors of the population in high-risk areas of China require further investigation.Trial registration:ChiCTR-EOC-17010553.Jiachen Zhou Kexin Sun Shaoming Wang Ru Chen Minjuan Li Jianhua Gu Zhiyuan Fan Guihua Zhuang Wenqiang Wei 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,7:2
