1Review on the effect of different processing techniques on the microstructure and mechanical behaviour of AZ31 Magnesium alloy显示文摘Magnesium(Mg)alloys despite being the ideal candidate for structural applications,owing to their high specific strength and low density,are not widely used due to lack of active slip systems at room temperature in their hexagonal close-packed crystal structure,eliciting poor ductility and formability.Amongst the various series of Mg alloys,the AZ and ZK series alloys have been standouts,as they inherit better room temperature strength and flow characteristics through their solute elements.Grain refinement,as well as eliminating casting defects through metal processing techniques are vital for the commercial viability of these alloys since they play a key role in controlling the mechanical behaviour.As such,this review highlights the effect of different Bulk-deformation and Severe Plastic Deformation techniques on the crystal orientation and the corresponding mechanical behaviours of the AZ31 alloy.However,every process parameter surrounding these techniques must be well thought of,as they require specially designed tools.With the advent of finite element analysis,these processes could be computationally realized for different parameters and optimized in an economically viable manner.Hence,this article also covers the developments made in finite element methods towards these techniques.Rakshith M. 2A review on assessment and treatment of the trunk in stroke A need or luxury显示文摘Trunk function has been identified as an important early predictor of functional outcome after stroke and the same deteriorates on both contralateral and ipsilateral sides of the body following stroke.The primary contribution of the trunk muscles is to allow the body to remain upright,adjust weight shifts,and control movements against constant pull of gravity and is considered central key point of the body.Proximal stability of the trunk is a pre-requisite for distal limb mobility,balance,gait and functional activities and its positive correlation in hemiplegia has been demonstrated in a cross-sectional study.Both isokinetic and handheld dynamometer muscle strength testing demonstrated the weakness of bilateral trunk flexors,extensors and rotator muscles in both acute and chronic hemiplegic patients.This was confirmed by electromyography analysis which identified poor bilateral trunk muscles activity in patients with stroke.Trunk impairment scale is sensitive to evaluate the selective muscle control of upper and lower trunk,and it has been reported that lateral flexion of the trunk is easier than rotation of the trunk and the clinical observation concurs to the difficulty in lower trunk rotation of stroke patients.However,trunk exercises given early after stroke could produce enhanced balance performance post-stroke.This review attempts to report the evidence supporting the involvement of the trunk and its influence on balance and functional performance in post-stroke hemiplegia.Suruliraj Karthikbabu Mahabala Chakrapani Sailakshmi Ganeshan Kedambadi C Rakshith Syed Nafeez Venkatesan Prem 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,25:5

8Mycoendophytic diversity and their antimicrobial potential from two epiphytic orchids of the Western Ghats forests of India显示文摘The epiphytic plants belong to a group that harmlessly grows on other plants by utilizing the nutrition from the host plants with their unique adaptation features along with symbiotic associations with fungi or bacteria.The various biological activities exhibited by the mycoendophytes inhabiting medicinally-important epiphytic orchids serve as the primary source of novel drug leads,industrially-essential enzymes,and plant growth-promoting metabolites.In the present study,a total of 956 culturable mycoendophytes out of 1600 segments belonging to 17 genera were isolated from different tissue parts of Trias stocksii and Dendrobium herbaceum.The Xylariaceae taxa were the predominant mycoendophytes present in both plants,followed by Pestalotiopsis sp.,Colletotrichum sp.,and Fusarium sp.An estimation of the Shannon-Wiener and Simpson diversity indices showed that the bulbs of T.stocksii have the highest species diversity index and the stems of D.herbaceum the lowest.The highest species richness was observed in the leaves of T.stocksii and the lowest in the leaves of D.herbaceum.Overall,T.stocksii harbored more mycoendophytes along with the highest diversity indices compared to D.herbaceum.The antimicrobial evaluation revealed that Xylaria sp.has a higher potential of producing anti-infectives and opens a new arena for industrial exploration.Nuthan BR Rakshith D Marulasiddaswamy KM Ramesha KP Chandra Mohana N Sampath Kumara KK Satish S 2020Studies in Fungi2020,5,1:0
