1Modification of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch and Sugarcane Bagasse Biomass as Potential Reinforcement for Composites Panel and Thermal Insulation Materials显示文摘This paper focuses on the study of the effect of modification of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch(OPEFB)and sugarcane bagasse(SCB)biomass as potential reinforcement for composites panel and thermal insulation.Both fibres were treated with three types of chemicals:2%silane,4%H2O2 and 4%H2O2-2%silane for 3 h.The influence of modified fibres content in composites was examined by structural changes using image analyser,Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),tensile,interracial shear strength(IFSS)and thermal characteristic.The diameter of both fibres was reduced after treatment and showed decreasing of lignin and hemi-cellulose in fibre.Tensile strength has been increased by 2%silane treatment for both fibres and 4%H2O2 treatment displays higher result for IFSS.Thermal properties of treated SCB fibre with silane display higher residual content and better thermal stability.SEM charac-terization showed that 2%silane treatment removed silica bodies of OPEFB fibre while 4%H2O2 treatment uniformly filled porosity of SCB fibre.Finally,results revealed that treated OPEFB fibre is enough to improve compatibility and mechanical properties,while treated SCB fibre was effective in thermal stability for fabrication of composite materials.Nor Azlina Ramlee Mohammad Jawaid Edi Syams Zainudin Shaikh Abdul Karim Yamani 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,1:2

6Evaluation of Inherited Resistance Genes of Bacterial Leaf Blight, Blast and Drought Tolerance in Improved Rice Lines显示文摘Improved rice lines were developed frome three parents with the resistance or tolerance to bacterial leaf blight,blast and drought stress,respectively,using single-,double-and three-way crosses.The improved lines were assessed for agro-morphological and yield traits under non-drought stress(NS)and reproductive-stage drought stress(RS)treatments.The mean comparison of traits measured between parent plants and progenies(improved lines)were similar,and there were significant and non-significant differences among the parents and improved lines(genotypes)under NS and RS.Smilarly,there was significant and non-significant differences in the interaction among both parent varieties and improved lines for NS and RS.Cluster and 3D-model of principal component analysis did not generate categorical clusters according to crossing methods,and there were no exclusive crossing method inclined variations under the treatments.The improved lines were high-yielding,disease resistant,and drought-tolerant compared with their parents.All the crossing methods were good for this crop improvement program without preference to any,despite the number of genes introgressed.Ibrahim Silas AKOS Mohd Y.RAFII Mohd Razi ISMAIL Shairul Izan RAMLEE Noraziyah Abd Aziz SHAMSUDIN Asfaliza RAMLI Samuel Chibuike CHUKWU Senesie SWARAY Momodu JALLOH 2021Rice science2021,28,3:1

8Reconfigurable Pattern Patch Antenna for Mid-Band 5G:A Review显示文摘New requirements in communication technologies make it imperative to rehash conventional features such as reconfigurable antennas to adapt with the future adaptability advancements.This paper presents a comprehensive review of reconfigurable antennas,specifically in terms of radiation patterns for adaptation in the upcoming Fifth Generation(5G)New Radio frequency bands.They represent the key of antenna technology for materializing a high rate transmission,increased spectral and energy efficiency,reduced interference,and improved the beam steering and beam shaping,thereby land a great promise for planar antennas to boost the mid-band 5G.This review begins with an overview of the underlying principals in reconfiguring radiation patterns,followed by the presentations of the implemented innovative antenna topologies to suit particular advanced features.The various adaptation techniques of radiation pattern reconfigurable planar antennas and the understanding of its antenna design approaches has been investigated for its radiation pattern enhancement.A variety of design configurations have also been critically studied for their compatibilities to be operated in the midband communication systems.The review provides new insights on pattern reconfigurable antenna where such antennas are categorized as beam steering antenna and beamshaping antennas where the operation modes and purposes are clearly investigated.The review also revealed that for mid-band 5G communication,the commonly used electronic switching such as PIN diodes have sufficient isolation loss to provide the required beam performance.Siti Rahena Isa Muzammil Jusoh Thennarasan Sabapathy Jamel Nebhen Muhammad Ramlee Kamarudin Mohamed Nasrun Osman Qammer Hussain Abbasi Hasliza A.Rahim Mohd Najib Mohd Yasin Ping Jack Soh 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,2:1

12Development of anthracnose disease resistance and heat tolerancechili through conventional breeding and molecular approaches:a review显示文摘Chili(Capsicum annuum L.)is the popular spicy vegetable crops belonging to family Solanaceae.Chili peppers are known for their pungency characteristic due to the presence of capsaicinoids that classifies them into hot or sweet pepper.Chili is used as spices,folk remedies for diseases,vegetables,and coloring agent showing a diverse role in human’s life.However,its production is hampered by different biotic stress and abiotic factors.Similarly,the unavailability of high yielding varieties,high temperature,and disease incidence,particularly,anthracnose disease,are the major constraints responsible for the low production of chili pepper.The advents of molecular markers,advancement in quantitative trait loci by classical genetic analysis,and conventional breeding have shown the number of genes for many important and major traits.While the newly developed genotyping technologies and nextgeneration sequencing have led to the discovery of molecular basis for economic important characters in the chili genome and generate large scale data for genomic resources.Based on this background,this review summarizes progress in the development of anthracnose disease-resistant and heat-tolerant chili genotypes through conventional breeding and molecular approaches.This review would help plant breeders in understanding the phenotypic and genetic make-up of capsicum genotypes and provides opportunities for pyramiding two respected genes with the help of diversified phenotypic and molecular marker evaluation.MST FARHANA NAZNEEN CHOWDHURY MOHD RAFII YUSOP SITI IZERA ISMAIL SHAIRUL IZAN RAMLEE YUSUFF OLADOSU MONIR HOSEN GOUS MIAH 2020BIOCELL2020,44,3:0
