2Nrf2 activator corosolic acid meliorates alloxan induced diabetic nephropathy in mice显示文摘Objective: To determine whether corosolic acid(CA) targeting nuclear protein expression of Nrf2 activation can be used to attenuate renal damage and preserve renal function in alloxan diabetic mice.Methods: A mouse model with diabetic nephropathy was established to examine the Nrf2 expression. Mice were randomly divided into control, diabetic control, and CA groups treated at 0.4 mg/kg, 2 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg p.o. for 8 weeks. Diabetes was induced in mice by single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan 200 mg/kg in all groups except the control. The mice with fasting blood glucose level over 200 mg/d L were considered as diabetic and were employed in the study. After 4 th and 8 th weeks, urine samples were collected(using metabolic cages) to measure protein and urea. Animals were euthanized, and serum samples were collected to estimate the glucose, creatinine, total protein, urea and blood urea nitrogen. Kidney was isolated at the end of experiment for histology to evaluate anti-oxidant parameters. Immunohistochemistry was performed to examine the Nrf2 expression.Results: CA treatment showed dose dependent reduction in level of biochemical parameters in serum and urine. CA group(10 mg/kg) showed significantly higher body weight and reduced kidney weight. Histopathological examination revealed reduced inflammation, collagen deposition and glomerulosclerosis in renal tissue. 7Graphene-wrapped Ag3PO4/LaCO3OH heterostructures for water purification under visible light显示文摘We demonstrated a unique synthesis approach of graphene(GR)-wrapped Ag_3PO_4/LaCO_3OH(APO/LCO)heterostructures by an in-situ wet chemical method. FESEM analysis reveals the formation of rhombic dodecahedrons of APO decorated with LCO and later wrapped with GR flakes. Optical studies shows two absorption edges corresponding to the band gap energies of APO(2.41 eV) and LCO(4.1 eV). Considering the absorption edge of the heterostructures in the visible region, the photocatalytic activities of photocatalysts containing different APO/LCO mass ratios were evaluated by the degradation of MB. GR-decorated composite with 20% LCO(APO/LCO20/GR) exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity for MB degradation, with a rate constant, k of 0.541 min^(-1). The photocatalytic activity of APO/LCO20/GR more greatly enhanced than those of the individual constituents(APO, LCO, APO/LCO20). The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the heterostructure can be attributed to the co-catalytic effect of LCO as well as intriguing physicochemical properties of GR. To understand the enhanced photocatalytic activity of the heterostructures the photocatalytic reaction mechanism is proposed in detail. 8Dual-tree complex wavelet transform and super-resolution based video inpainting application to object removal and error concealment显示文摘Video inpainting is a technique that fills in the missing regions or gaps in a video by using its known pixels.The existing video inpainting algorithms are computationally expensive and introduce seam in the target region that arises due to variation in brightness or contrast of the patches.To overcome these drawbacks,the authors propose a novel two-stage framework.In the first step,sub-bands of wavelets of a low-resolution image are obtained using the dualtree complex wavelet transform.Criminisi algorithm and auto-regression technique are then applied to these subbands to inpaint the missing regions.The fuzzy logic-based histogram equalisation is used to further enhance the image by preserving the image brightness and improve the local contrast.In the second step,the image is enhanced using super-resolution technique.The process of down-sampling,inpainting and subsequently enhancing the video using the super-resolution technique reduces the video inpainting time.The framework is tested on video sequences by comparing and analysing the structural similarity index matrix,peak-signal-to-noise ratio,visual information fidelity in pixel domain and execution time with the state-of-the-art algorithms.The experimental analysis gives visually pleasing results for object removal and error concealment.Gajanan Tudavekar Sanjay R.Patil Santosh S.Saraf 2020CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2020,5,4:2
9榕属植物提取物止泻作用的研究(英文)显示文摘目的:印度贾尔贡地区森林里的榕属植物多年来被当地人用来治疗腹泻。本研究根据当地人的用药传统选取3类榕属植物的特定部位来研究它们对不同大鼠腹泻模型的治疗及缓解作用。方法:不限性别地选取体质量在180~200 g的Wistar大鼠240只,在每个独立实验中,大鼠分别被分为8组,每组10只。通过蓖麻油诱导大鼠腹泻、大鼠胃肠蠕动测试及前列腺素E2诱导大鼠小肠淤积的3个独立实验来评估孟加拉榕树树皮、聚果榕树叶以及无花果叶的乙醇提取物治疗腹泻的作用。结果:孟加拉榕树树皮、聚果榕树叶和无花果叶的提取物具有显著抑制由蓖麻油诱发的大鼠腹泻及前列腺素诱导的大鼠小肠淤积的作用。当给予大鼠400、600 mg/kg的乙醇提取物时,腹泻显著减少。与标准对照药组对比,服用3种植物乙醇提取物的大鼠表现出显著的剂量依赖性腹泻缓解现象(P<0.01)。与蓖麻油诱导大鼠腹泻实验中的对照组相比,榕属植物的乙醇提取物被证实具有显著的降低粪便排泄量及排泄次数的作用(P<0.01)。所有的植物提取物具有显著减缓木炭餐在大鼠小肠内的推进速度并抑制由前列腺素E2引起的大鼠小肠淤积的作用。结论:印度贾尔贡地区的榕属植物具有止泻作用。这些植物的作用机制主要通过解痉和抗小肠淤积来缓解腹泻,这可能与榕属植物的乙醇提取物内含有鞣酸及类黄酮有关。Vikas V.Patil Shandavi C.Bhangale Prashant J.Chaudhari Kundan P.Chaudhari Rajanikant T.Kakade Vinod M.Thakare Chandrakant G.Bonde Vijay R.Patil 2012中西医结合学报2012,10,3:2

11Adaptive neuro-fuzzy interface system for gap acceptance behavior of right-turning vehicles at partially controlled T-intersections显示文摘Gap acceptance theory is broadly used for evaluating unsignalized intersections in developed countries. Intersections with no specific priority to any movement, known as uncontrolled intersections, are common in India. Limited priority is observed at a few intersections,where priorities are perceived by drivers based on geometry, traffic volume, and speed on the approaches of intersection. Analyzing such intersections is complex because the overall traffic behavior is the result of drivers,vehicles, and traffic flow characteristics. Fuzzy theory has been widely used to analyze similar situations. This paper describes the application of adaptive neuro-fuzzy interface system(ANFIS) to the modeling of gap acceptance behavior of right-turning vehicles at limited priority T-intersections(in India, vehicles are driven on the left side of a road). Field data are collected using video cameras at four T-intersections having limited priority. The data extracted include gap/lag, subject vehicle type, conflicting vehicle type, and driver's decision(accepted/rejected).ANFIS models are developed by using 80 % of the extracted data(total data observations for major road rightturning vehicles are 722 and 1,066 for minor road rightturning vehicles) and remaining are used for model validation. Four different combinations of input variables are considered for major and minor road right turnings separately. Correct prediction by ANFIS models ranges from75.17 % to 82.16 % for major road right turning and87.20 % to 88.62 % for minor road right turning. 12Aloin attenuates chronic constriction injury-induced neuropathic pain in rats by inhibiting inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of aloin against chronic constriction injury(CCI)-induced neuropathic pain in rats.Methods:Rats were randomly divided into 7 groups:GroupⅠ(normal control),GroupⅡ(sham-operated),GroupⅢ(CCI control)and GroupⅣ,Ⅴ,Ⅵ,andⅦ,which underwent CCI surgery and then were administered with aloin(5 mg/kg,p.o.;25 mg/kg,p.o.;125 mg/kg,p.o.)and gabapentin(50 mg/kg,p.o.),respectively for 14 days.Peripheral neuropathy was induced by silk ligatures(4-0)loosely placed around the sciatic nerve.Nociceptive thresholds against mechanical stimuli(Von-Frey filaments)and thermal stimuli(12℃and 40℃)were measured at midplantar paw region ipsilateral to the compressed nerve on day-3,7,11,and 14.The concentration of cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6,and interleukin-1βwas estimated at day-7.At day 14,motor nerve conduction velocity was determined under urethane anesthesia(1.25 g/kg).Oxidative stress parameters(malondiadehyde,glutathione,catalase,and superoxide dismutase)were estimated in sciatic nerve homogenates at day 14.Representative nerve samples were processed for histological investigations.Results:Aloin significantly reduced CCI-induced mechanical and thermal allodynia.It also improved motor nerve conduction velocity and decreased oxidative stress in nerve tissues.In addition,it decreased pro-inflammatory cytokine levels and restored the histoarchitecture of compressed sciatic nerve.Conclusions:Aloin mitigates CCI-induced neuropathic pain in rats by inhibiting oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines in the afflicted sciatic nerve.Aarti S.Kale Avinash R.Wadkar Umesh B.Mahajan Lalit A.Birari Sateesh Belemkar Sameer N.Goyal Shreesh Ojha Sanjay J.Surana Chandragouda R.Patil Kalpesh R.Patil 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2021,11,5:0
13Analyzing variations in spatial critical gaps at two-way stop controlled intersections using parametric and non-parametric techniques显示文摘At two-way stop controlled(TWSC)intersections drivers on minor stream are generally at risk because of the difficulty in judging safe gap between major stream vehicles.Any misjudgment by the driver while choosing gap may result in a collision with major stream vehicle.This paper provides important insights for determining and analyzing spatial critical gaps of drivers at high speed and medium speed TWSC intersections.The critical gap line(CGL)fitted for the accepted and rejected gaps using parametric(binary logit model-BLM)and non-parametric(support vector machines-SVM)techniques gives critical gap values at 15 th,50 th and 85 th percentile speeds.The evaluation of spatial critical gap with respect to major road vehicle(conflicting vehicle)speed makes it easier to understand the impact of variation in speed on spatial gaps accepted by the drivers on the minor road.The logit models developed revealed that the probability of accepting gap decreases with increase in the speed of the conflicting vehicle and it increases with increase in the distance of conflicting vehicle.The spatial critical gaps estimated using support vector machines were found in close approximation with those estimated using binary logit model.The study results showed that SVMs have very good potential to be an alternative tool for the estimation of driver's critical gap.The spatial critical gaps corresponding to 15 th,50 th and 85 th percentile speeds for medium speed intersections were 32 m,38 m and 46 m respectively and for high speed intersections these values were 64 m,76 m and 104 m respectively.The increase in the magnitude of gap value with respect to the percentile speed clearly states the effect of speed on spatial gaps.The insights from the study can be used to suggest various measures to improve the safety of crossing drivers at uncontrolled intersections.Digvijay S.Pawar Gopal R.Patil 2021Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2021,8,1:0

15Phloretin-induced suppression of oxidative and nitrosative stress attenuates doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in rats显示文摘Objective:To compare the cardioprotective efficacy of equimolar doses(50 mM/kg,p.o.)of phloretin and genistein against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in rats.Methods:Cardiotoxicity was induced in rats by intraperitoneal injection of 6 mg/kg doxorubicin on alternative days till the cumulative dose reached 30 mg/kg.This study included four treatment groups of rats(n=6):the control group(0.5%carboxymethyl cellulose solution-treated),the doxorubicin-treated group(0.5%carboxymethyl cellulose solution along with doxorubicin),the genistein-treated group(50 mM/kg/day;p.o.along with doxorubicin)and phloretin-treated group(50 mM/kg/day;p.o.along with doxorubicin).On the 10th day of dosing,rats were anesthetized for recording ECG,mean arterial pressure,and left ventricular function.Oxidative stress,nitric oxide levels,and inflammatory cytokines were estimated in the cardiac tissue.Cardiac function parameters(creatine kinase MB,lactate dehydrogenase,aspartate aminotransferase,and alanine transaminase)were estimated in the serum samples.Results:Phloretin treatment inhibited doxorubicin-induced oxidative stress and also reduced nitric oxide levels in cardiac tissues of rats.Phloretin administration attenuated doxorubicin-induced alterations in hemodynamic parameters(heart rate,mean arterial blood pressure,and left ventricular function)and suppressed the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines.The cardiac injury markers like creatine kinase MB,lactate dehydrogenase,aspartate aminotransferase,and alanine transaminase were reduced by both genistein and phloretin.All these effects of phloretin were more prominent than genistein.Conclusions:Phloretin offers cardioprotection that is comparable to genistein,a clinically validated cardioprotectant against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity.Further studies are needed to confirm and establish the therapeutic utility of phloretin as a chemopreventive adjuvant to doxorubicin chemotherapy.Shivani S.Wagh Kalpesh R.Patil Umesh B.Mahajan Pradnya D.Bagal Avinash R.Wadkar Basavraj Bommanhalli Prabhakar R.Patil Sameer N.Goyal Shreesh Ojha Chandragouda R.Patil 2022Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2022,12,3:0

18Boosting the energy harvesting performance of cantilever structured magneto-mechano-electric generator by controlling magnetic flux intensity on magnet proof mass显示文摘A cantilever-structured magneto-mechano-electric(MME)generator comprising a magnetoelectric composite with a magnet proof mass is a potential candidate for powering autonomous wireless sensor networks.Recently,the concept of a magnetic flux concentrator(MFC)to enhance the output performance of the MME generator by focusing the ultralow-intensity magnetic field into the MME generator was introduced.However,the MFC-concentrated magnetic flux mostly focused on the end tip of the MME cantilever rather than at the magnet proof mass located on the cantilever beam.Considering that the torque generated by the magnet proof mass contributes more than half of the output power of an MME generator,optimizing the volume and position of the proof-mass with MFC is crucial for better performance.Furthermore,a smaller proof-mass is desirable for the long-term reliability of cantilevertype harvesters.Hence,we investigated the effect of the position and weight(volume)of the magnet proof mass with respect to the MFC on the output performance of the MME generator through finite element analysis and experiments.The MME generator with the lighter magnet proof mass at the optimized position generated a maximum power of 5.35 mW under a 10 Oe magnetic field,which was 210%of that of the MME configuration used in our previous study.Furthermore,the MME generator showed broadband characteristics around the practical frequency of 60 Hz,which could provide more freedom to design the harvester with high performance.Deepak R.Patil Seungah Lee Atul Thakre Ajeet Kumar Hyunseok Song Dae-Yong Jeong Jungho Ryu 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,4:0
19Vanadium-Doped Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles Formation in Presence of Ionic Liquids and Their Use in Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue显示文摘Magnesium oxide(MgO) is one of the metal oxides having unique properties with numerous potential industrial applications.In this study,MgO and vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles were synthesized by sol–gel method in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF_4] and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF_4] ionic liquids.Vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles exhibited nanosphere and nanorod morphologies with 40–80 nm in particle size,primarily due to the influence of ionic liquids as demonstrated by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.Characteristics of nanoparticles were also studied by thermal gravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.Photodegradation ability of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated for methylene blue(MB) in specially designed UV reactor.Photodegradation is found to be dependent on doping,and particle characteristics change due to the influence of ionic liquid.The ionic liquid-assisted vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles showed good reusability under UV irradiation and MB degradation ability under visible light.Harshad R.Patil Z.V.P.Murthy 2016Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2016,29,3:0
