| 1 | Serum ficolin-2 concentrations are significantly changed in patients with hepatitis B virus infection and liver diseases显示文摘Human ficolin-2 is an important lectin complement pathway activator that is secreted from liver cells and has been implicated as an anti-infection innate immune molecule. However, the role of ficolin-2 protein and its dynamic changes over the course of and in the prognosis of chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) remain unclear. In this study, we analyzed ficolin-2 protein expression in a cohort of individuals with CHB infection, HCC and cirrhosis. A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method was used to measure serum ficolin-2 concentrations. Ficolin-2 expression in liver tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Serum ficolin-2 concentrations in CHB patients were significantly higher than in healthy controls and HBV carriers. After 48 weeks of routine amelioration liver function treatment, serum ficolin-2 concentrations decreased and were positively correlated with favorable alanine aminotransferase(ALT), HBV DNA and HBe Ag-seroconversion outcomes. Interestingly, we observed much lower expression of serum and intrahepatic ficolin-2 in HCC and cirrhosis compared with healthy controls. | 2 | Linking key intervention timings to rapid declining effective reproduction number to quantify lessons against COVID-19显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is currently under a global pandemic trend.The efficiency of containment measures and epidemic tendency of typical countries should be assessed.In this study,the efficiency of prevention and control measures in China,Italy,Iran,South Korea,and Japan was assessed,and the COVID-19 epidemic tendency among these countries was compared.Results showed that the effective reproduction number(Re)in Wuhan,China increased almost exponentially,reaching a maximum of 3.98 before a lockdown and rapidly decreased to below 1 due to containment and mitigation strategies of the Chinese government.The Re in Italy declined at a slower pace than that in China after the implementation of prevention and control measures.The Re in Iran showed a certain decline after the establishment of a national epidemic control command,and an evident stationary phase occurred because the best window period for the prevention and control of the epidemic was missed.The epidemic in Japan and South Korea reoccurred several times with the Re fluctuating greatly.The epidemic has hardly rebounded in China due to the implementation of prevention and control strategies and the effective enforcement of policies.Other countries suffering from the epidemic could learn from the Chinese experience in containing COVID-19. | Zhihang Peng Wenyu Song Zhongxing Ding Quanquan Guan Xu Yang Qiaoqiao Xu Xu Wang Yankai Xia | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Ficolins and infectious diseases显示文摘Ficolins are serum complement lectins,with a structure similar to mannose-binding lectin(MBL) and lung surfactant protein(SP)-A and SP-D.Ficolins activate the lectin complement system and play important roles in host innate immunity.Ficolins are members of the collectin family of proteins,which act as pattern recognition receptors(PRRs).They are soluble oligomeric defense proteins with lectin-like activity,and are able to recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs),which are carbohydrate molecules on the surface of pathogens,and of apoptotic,necrotic,and malignant cells.Upon binding to their specific PAMPs,ficolins may trigger activation of the immune system either(1) by initiating activation of complement via the lectin pathway,(2) by a primitive type of opsonophagocytosis,or(3) by stimulating secretion of the inflammatory cytokines interferon(IFN)-y,interleukin(IL)-17,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-a,and production of nitric oxide(NO)by macrophages,thus limiting the infection and concurrently orchestrating the subsequent adaptive immune response.Recently,a number of reports have shown that dysfunction or abnormal expression of ficolins may play crucial roles in viral and bacterial diseases and in inflammation.This review summarizes the reports on the roles of ficolins in the infectious diseases,and provides insight into ficolins as novel innate immune therapeutic options to treat these diseases. | Yushan Ren Quanquan Ding Xiaolian Zhang | 2014 | Virologica Sinica2014,29,1: | 2 |

| 5 | Synergistic effects of PtFe/CeO_(2)catalysts afford high catalytic performance in selective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde显示文摘Selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes remains a grand challenge in controlling chemoselectivity up to now.We synthesized a series of PtFex/CeO_(2)catalysts,which were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)as well as temperature-programmed-reduction by hydrogen(H2-TPR).The catalytic performance of PtFex/CeO_(2),including cinnamaldehyde(CAL)conversion and selectivity toward cinnamyl alcohol(COL),is improved remarkably by introduction of Fe species in the Pt particles in the selective CAL hydrogenation under mild conditions.XPS results indicate that the electron transfer from Fe to Pt promotes CAL adsorption,resulting in the enhanced CAL conversion.And the COL selectivity is improved by CAL adsorption via an interaction of C=O group with surface oxygen defect sites because of interaction between PtFe and CeO_(2)support.In all,this study may provide some hints to design efficient nano Pt particles for the selective hydrogenation. | Xia Gong Quanquan Shi Xinyu Zhang Jinmei Li Guichen Ping Hui Xu Hongjing Ding Gao Li | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,2: | 0 |
