1Correlation of E-selectin gene polymorphisms with risk of ischemic stroke A meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of E-selectin S128R polymorphisms with ischemic stroke. DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search was conducted in PubMed, Elsevier, Ovid Database, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Database between January 1998 and December 2010. STUDY SELECTION: Case-controlled studies addressing the association of the E-selectin polymorphism and ischemic stroke were included in this review. The genotype distribution complied with the Hardy-Weinberg genetic equilibrium. The included reports were evaluated by two authors for strict quality screening. Meta-analysis software, REVMAN 5.1, was used to investigate heterogeneity, pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) in individual studies. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Genotype and allele distributions at the E-selectin S128R site. RESULTS: Six case-controlled studies were included after screening and application of inclusion and exclusion criteria. There was no heterogeneity in the genotype and allele frequencies, and no publication bias was found. Meta-analysis of the pooled data showed that the OR value of the (AC+CC)/AA genotype was 1.93 (95% CI: 1.55-2.41, Z = 5.80, P < 0.000 01), and the OR for the C/A allele was 1.80 (95% CI: 1.47-2.22, Z = 5.59, P < 0.000 01) in the ischemic stroke group, compared with control group. Results of pooled data in Chinese subjects showed that the OR value of (AC+CC)/AA was 2.36 (95% CI: 1.68-3.31, Z = 4.99, P < 0.000 01), and the OR value of the C/A allele was 2.25 (95% CI: 1.63-3.12, Z = 4.89, P < 0.000 01). 2Protection of Mice from Lethal Endotoxemia by Chimeric Human BPI-Fcγ1 Gene Delivery显示文摘To evaluate the potentiality of applying gene therapy to endotoxemia in high-risk patients, we investigated the effects of transferring an adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (AAV2)-mediated BPI-Fcγ1 gene on protecting mice from challenge of lethal endotoxin. The chimeric BPI-Fcγ1 gene consists of two parts, one encods functional N-terminus (1 to 199 amino acidic residues) of human BPI, which is a bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein, and the other encodes Fc segment of human immunoglobulin G1(Fcγ1). Our results indicated that the target protein could be expressed and secreted into the serum of the gene-transferred mice. After lethal endotoxin challenge, the levels of endotoxin and TNF-αin the gene-transferred mice were decreased. The survival rate of the BPI-Fcγ1 gene-transferred mice was markedly increased. 3Digitally determining forest inventory units with an ecological classification system显示文摘Management-level forest resource data in China were obtained with a combination of two forest inventories. However, inconsistencies in the spatial attributes of forest data vary between the two inventory types and between two inventories of the same type. The inconsistencies make it inconvenient for long-term forest management planning with digital technologies. Ecological Land Types (ELTs) and Ecological Land Type Phases (ELTPs) have been mapped in selected forestry regions in northeast China, where important forest industries are located. The boundaries of ELTs are determined by geomorphic conditions, which are quantified by Digital Elevation Models (DEM); ELTPs are classified by overlaying ELTs with forest vegetation data layers that are obtained with both remotely sensed and ground data. The ELTPs represent the divisions of land in terms of both natural and human-induced forest conditions, and therefore they are reliable units for forest inventories and management. This paper introduces a case study for digitally determining forest inventory units in Benxi City, Liaoning Province, northeast China. 4Carbon Stock of Larch Plantations and Its Comparison with an Old-growth Forest in Northeast China显示文摘The overall goal of this study was to understand carbon(C) stock dynamics in four different-aged Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi) plantations in Northeast China that were established after clear-cutting old-growth Korean pine deciduous forests. Four Japanese larch plantations which were at 10, 15, 21, and 35 years old and an old-growth Korean pine deciduous forest which was 300 years old in Northeast China were selected and sampled. We compared the C pools of biomass(tree, shrub and herb), litterfall(LF), and soil organic carbon(SOC) among them. The biomass C stock of larch plantation at 10, 15, 21, and 35 years old was 26.8, 37.9, 63.6, and 83.2 Mg/ha, respectively, while the biomass C stock of the old-growth Korean pine deciduous forest was 175.1 Mg/ha. The SOC stock of these larch plantations was 172.1, 169.7, 140.3, and 136.2 Mg/ha respectively, and SOC stock of 170.4 Mg/ha in the control of old-growth forest. The biomass C stock increased with stand age of larch plantations, whereas SOC stock decreased with age, and C stock of LF did not change significantly(P > 0.05). The increase of biomass C offset the decline of SOC stock with age, making total carbon stock(TCS) of larch plantations stable from stand ages of 10–35 years. 5Study on microscope hyperspectral medical imaging method for biomedical quantitative analysis显示文摘A microscopic pushbroom hyperspectral imaging system was developed based on the microscopic technology and spectral imaging technology according to the principle of spectral imager in remote sensing. The basic principle and key technologies of this system were presented and the system per- formance was also analyzed. Some methods and algorithms were proposed to preprocess and nor- malize the microscopic hyperspectral data and retrieve the transmittance spectrum of samples. As a case study, the microscopic hyperspectral imaging system was used to image the retina sections of different rats and get some significant results. 6Analysis on Nutrient Compositions and Nutritional Quality of Lota lota( Linnaeus) Muscle显示文摘In order to evaluate the nutritional quality of Lota lota(Linnaeus) muscle,the common nutrient components,amino acid composition and fatty acid composition in muscle of wild Lota lota(captured in Hailang reaches of Mudan River) were determined by routine methods. The results showed that the contents of moisture,crude protein,crude fat and ash were 81. 82%,15. 93%,0. 44% and 1. 06% in fresh muscle of Lota lota,respectively. Totally 17 amino acids,including seven kinds of essential amino acids(EAA),were detected in dry muscle of Lota lota(Linnaeus),accounting for 72. 43% of total dry muscle. The content of EAA was 29. 82%,accounting for 41. 17% of TAA,meeting the amino acid composition of high-quality protein standard required by Food and Agriculture Organization /Word Health Organization(FAO /WHO). There were four delicious amino acids(DAA) in dry muscle,accounting for 28. 34% of total dry weight.The percentage of DAA to TAA was 39. 13% in dry muscle. The contents of C20:5n- 3(EPA) and C22:6n- 3(DHA) in dry muscle were 8. 65% and 20. 32%respectively,which were significantly higher than that of the artificially cultured fish species,such as Oxyeleotris marmorata(EPA:2. 24%,DHA:4. 74%),Spinibarbus sinensis(EPA:0. 87%,DHA:3. 08%) and Glossogobius giuris(EPA: 3. 94%,DHA: 8. 10%). Based on the amino acids score(AAS) and chemical score(CS),the first limited amino acid in Lota lota(Linnaeus) was sulfur-containing amino acid(methionine + cysteine). The essential amino acids index(EAAI) of Lota lota(Linnaeus) was 62.58. It is concluded that Lota lota(Linnaeus) is abundant in amino acids and high-unsaturated fatty acids,and rational in composition of amino acids. 7Growth and Resource Accumulation of Drifting Sargassum horneri(Fucales, Phaeophyta) in Response to Temperature and Nitrogen Supply显示文摘The abnormal increase of drifting brown alga Sargassum horneri was initially documented in 2007.It formed blooms along the coast of East China Sea and Yellow Sea in 2017.In this study,we investigated the changes of specific growth rate and resource accumulation of drifting S.horneri in response to temperature and nitrogen richness at different growth stages under laboratory condition.The investigation lasted from June 2015 to April 2016 with the observation made every two months.The results showed that the life cycle consists of a few growth stages dividable with morphological characteristics.The growth can be divided into shedding and withering(August),rapid growing(October to September),slow growing(February),rapid growing(April)and maturation(June)stages.Under the experimental condition,algal segments were found to grow at temperatures ranging from 5 to 25℃in 12 days even when nitrogen is deficient.A significant difference in the special growth rate(SGR)between nitrogen-enriched and nitrogen-removed treatments was found in most months(P<0.05).SGR was lower in August and February than that in other months.Nitrogen and chlorophyll contents in algal segments were different among different temperatures,nitrogen supply and seasons.Nitrogen content was higher in February and April than that in other months in both nitrogen-enriched and nitrogen-removed treatments.The results showed that the demand of S.horneri for nitrogen increased in spring when it grows fast.It is likely that the high temperature and nitrogen concentration in winter and spring lead to the high biomass accumulation of drifting S.horneri.YU Jia LI Jingyu WANG Qiaohan LIU Yan GONG Qingli 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,5:4

9Protection of Immuno-Compromised Mice from Lethal Infection of Klebsiella pneumonia by rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 Gene Transfer显示文摘In previous research, chimerical BPI23-Fcγ1 gene which consisted of human bactericidal/permeability increasing protein (BPI) gene of encoding the functional N terminus (amino acid residues 1 to 199) of human BPI and Fcγ1 gene of encoding the Fc segment of human immunoglobulin G1 was successfully reconstructed within a recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (rAAV2) vector as rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1. Here, to evaluate the potentiality of applying gene therapy to gram negative bacterial (GNB) infection in high-risk patients, we investigated protection of immuno-compromised mice and immunocompetent mice from challenge with minimal lethal dose (MLD) Klebsiella pneumonia infection after rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 gene transferred. The results showed that the survival rate of rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 transferred immunocompetent mice as well as immuno-compromised mice (40.0% and 44.4%, respectively) were significantly higher than that of corresponding control mice (6.7% and 4.4%, respectively); the bacteria counting, level of endotoxin and proinflammatory cytokines in the rAAV2-BPI23- Fcγ1 transferred immuno-compromised mice were markedly lower than that of rAAV2-EGFP and rAAV2-Null transferred immuno-compromised mice. 10Identification of various food residuals on denim based on hyperspectral imaging system and combination optimal strategy显示文摘As the science and technology develop,crime methods and scenes have become increasingly complex and diverse.Trace evidence analysis has become amore and more important criminal investigation technology and liquid is the main form of trace evidence.Food can provide not only energy,but clues to solve crimes.In this study,we build a hyperspectral imaging system to detect liquid residue traces,including apple juice,coffee,cola,milk and tea,on denims with light,middle and dark colors.The obtained hyperspectral images are first subjected to spectral calibration and hyperspectral data pretreatment.Subsequently,Partial Least Squares(PLS)is applied to select the informative wavelengths from the preprocessed spectra.For modeling phase,the combination optimal strategy,support vector machine(SVM)combined with random forest(RF),is developed to establish classification models.The experimental results demonstrate that the combination optimal model can achieve TPR,FPR,Precision,Recall,F1,and AUC of 83.5%,2.30%,79.7%,83.5%,81.6%,and 94.7%for classifying fabrics contaminated by various food residuals.With respect to the classification of liquid and fabric types,the combination optimalmodel also yields satisfactory classification performance.In future work,wewill expand the types of liquid,and make appropriate adjustment to algorithms for improving the robustness of classification models.This research may play a positive role in the construction of a harmonious society.Yuzhen Chen Ziyi Xu Wencheng Tang Menghan Hu Douning Tang Guangtao Zhai Qingli Li 2021Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2021,,1:2
11Monodomain Liquid Crystals of Two-Dimensional Sheets by Boundary-Free Sheargraphy显示文摘Eliminating topological defects to achieve monodomain liquid crystals is highly significant for the fundamental studies of soft matter and building long-range ordered materials.However,liquid crystals are metastable and sensitive to external stimuli,such as flow,confinement,and electromagnetic fields,which cause their intrinsic polycrystallinity and topological defects.Here,we achieve the monodomain liquid crystals of graphene oxide over 30 cm through boundary-free sheargraphy.The obtained monodomain liquid crystals exhibit large-area uniform alignment of sheets,which has the same optical polarized angle and intensity.The monodomain liquid crystals provide bidirectionally ordered skeletons,which can be applied as lightweight thermal management materials with bidirectionally high thermal and electrical conductivity.Furthermore,we extend the controllable topology of two-dimensional colloids by introducing singularities and disclinations in monodomain liquid crystals.Topological structures with defect strength from−2 to+2 were realized.This work provides a facile methodology to study the structural order of soft matter at a macroscopic level,facilitating the fabrication of metamaterials with tunable and highly anisotropic architectures.Min Cao Senping Liu Qingli Zhu Ya Wang Jingyu Ma Zeshen Li Dan Chang Enhui Zhu Xin Ming Yingjun Liu Yanqiu Jiang Zhen Xu Chao Gao 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,12:2
12Carrier dynamics and terahertz photoconductivity of doped silicon measured by femtosecond pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy显示文摘The carrier dynamics and terahertz photoconductivity in the n-type silicon (n-Si) as well as in the p-type Silicon (p-Si) have been investigated by using femtosecond pump-terahertz probe technique. The measurements show that the relative change of terahertz transmission of p-Si at low pump power is slightly smaller than that of n-Si,due to the lower carrier density induced by the recombination of original holes in the p-type material and the photogenerated electrons. At high pump power,the bigger change of terahertz transmission of p-Si originates from the greater mobility of the carriers compared to n-Si. The transient photoconductivities are calculated and fit well with the Drude-Smith model,showing that the mobility of the photogenerated carriers decreases with the increasing pump power. 13Chemotherapy initiation with single-course methotrexate alone or combined with dactinomycin versus multi-course methotrexate for low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia: a multi-centric randomized clinical trial显示文摘We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of single-course initial regimens in patients with low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia(GTN).In this trial (NCT01823315),276 patients were analyzed.Patients were allocated to three initiated regimens:single-course methotrexate(MTX),single-course MTX+dactinomycin(ACTD),and multi-course MTX(control arm).The primary endpoint was the complete remission(CR)rate by initial drug(s).The primary CR rate was 64.4%with multi-course MTX in the control arm.For the single-course MTX arm,the CR rate was 35.8%by one course;it increased to 59.3%after subsequent multi-course MTX,with non-inferiority to the control(difference-5.1%,95%confidence interval(CI)-19.4%to 9.2%,P=0.014).After further treatment with multi-course ACTD,the CR rate(93.3%)was similar to that of the control(95.2%,P=0.577).For the single-course MTX+ACTD arm,the CR rate was 46.7%by one course,which increased to 89.1%after subsequent multi-course,with non-inferiority(difference 24.7%,95%CI 12.8%-36.6%,P<0.001)to the control.It was similar to the CR rate by MTX and further ACTD in the control arm(89.1%vs.95.2%,P=0.135).Four patients experienced recurrence,with no death,during the 2-year follow-up.We demonstrated that chemotherapy initiation with single-course MTX may be an alternative regimen for patients with low-risk GTN.Lili Chen Ling Xi Jie Jiang Rutie Yin Pengpeng Qu Xiuqin Li Xiaoyun Wan Yaxia Chen Dongxiao Hu Yuyan Mao Zimin Pan Xiaodong Cheng Xinyu Wang Qingli Li Danhui Weng Xi Zhang Hong Zhang Quanhong Ping Xiaomei Liu Xing Xie Beihua Kong Ding Ma Weiguo Lu 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,2:2

18The Brown Algae Saccharina japonica and Sargassum horneri Exhibit Species-Specific Responses to Synergistic Stress of Ocean Acidification and Eutrophication显示文摘Ocean acidification and eutrophication are two important environmental stressors.They inevitably impact marine macroalgae,and hence the coastal ecosystem of China.Saccharina japonica,as the main culture species in China,is suffering the harmful golden tide caused by Sargassum horneri.However,it remains unclear whether the detrimental effects of S.horneri on S.japonica cultivation become more severe in future acidified and eutrophic scenario.In this study,we respectively investigated the effects of pCO_(2)(400μatm and 1000μatm)and nutrients(non-enriched and enriched seawater)on the growth,photosynthesis,respiration,chlorophyll contents,and tissue nitrogen of S.japonica and S.horneri.Results indicated that enrichment of nutrients contributed S.horneri to utilize HCO_(3)^(−).The carbon acquisition pathway shifted from HCO_(3)^(−)to CO_(2) in S.japonica,while S.horneri re-mained using HCO_(3)^(−)regulated by nutrient enrichment.S.horneri exhibited better photosynthetic traits than S.japonica,with a higher level of net photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll contents at elevated pCO_(2) and enriched nutrients.Tissue nitrogen also accumulated richly in the thalli of S.horneri under higher pCO_(2) and nutrients.Significant enhancement in growth was only detected in S.horneri under synergistic stress.Together,S.horneri showed competitive dominance in current study.These findings suggest that increasing risk of golden tide in acidified and eutrophic ocean can most likely result in great damage to S.japonica cultivation.LIU Yuxin CAO Jiazhen CHU Yaoyao LIU Yan WANG Qiaohan GONG Qingli LI Jingyu 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,5:1

20PCA-U-Net based breast cancer nest segmentation from microarray(jj)hyperspectral images显示文摘The incidence of breast cancer is tending younger globally,and tumor development,clinical treatment,and prognosis are largely influenced by histopathological diagnosis.For diagnosed patients,the distinction between the cancer nests and normal tissue is the basis of breast cancer treatment.Microscopic hyperspectral imaging technology has shown its potential in auxiliary pathological examinations due to the superior imaging modality and data characteristics.This paper presents a method for cancer nest segmentation from hyperspectral images of breast cancer tissue microarray samples.The scheme combines the strengths of the U-Net neural network and unsupervised principal component analysis,which reduces the amount of calculation and improves the recognition accuracy.The experimental accuracy of cancer nest segmentation reaches 87.14%.Furthermore,a set of quantitative pathological characteristic parameters reflects the degree of breast cancer lesions from multiple angles,providing a relatively comprehensive reference for the pathologist’s diagnosis.In-depth exploration of the combined development of deep learning and microscopic hyperspectral imaging technology is worthy to promote efficient diagnosis of breast tumors and concern for human health.Jiansheng Wang Yan Wang Xiang Tao Qingli Li Li Sun Jiangang Chen Mei Zhou Menghan Hu Xiufeng Zhou 2021Fundamental Research2021,1,5:1
