1Catalytic Reduction of CO2 to CO via Reverse Water Gas Shift Reaction:Recent Advances in the Design of Active and Selective Supported Metal Catalysts显示文摘The catalytic conversion of CO2 to CO via a reverse water gas shift(RWGS)reaction followed by well-established synthesis gas conversion technologies may provide a potential approach to convert CO2 to valuable chemicals and fuels.However,this reaction is mildly endothermic and competed by a strongly exothermic CO2 methanation reaction at low temperatures.Therefore,the improvement in the low-temperature activities and selectivity of the RWGS reaction is a key challenge for catalyst designs.We reviewed recent advances in the design strategies of supported metal catalysts for enhancing the activity of CO2 conversion and its selectivity to CO.These strategies include varying support,tuning metal–support interactions,adding reducible transition metal oxide promoters,forming bimetallic alloys,adding alkali metals,and enveloping metal particles.These advances suggest that enhancing CO2 adsorption and facilitating CO desorption are key factors to enhance CO2 conversion and CO selectivity.This short review may provide insights into future RWGS catalyst designs and optimization.Min Zhu Qingfeng Ge Xinli Zhu 2020Transactions of Tianjin University2020,26,3:9
2Massive cranium from Harbin in northeastern China establishes a new Middle Pleistocene human lineage显示文摘It has recently become clear that several human lineages coexisted with Homo sapiens during the late Middle and Late Pleistocene.Here,we report an archaic human fossil that throws new light on debates concerning the diversification of the Homo genus and the origin of H.sapiens.The fossil was recovered in Harbin city in northeastern China,with a minimum uranium-series age of 146 ka.This cranium is one of the best preserved Middle Pleistocene human fossils.Its massive size,with a large cranial capacity(1,420 mL)falling in the range of modern humans,is combined with a mosaic of primitive and derived characters.It differs from all the other named Homo species by presenting a combination of features,such as long and low cranial vault,a wide and low face,large and almost square orbits,gently curved but massively developed supraorbital torus,flat and low cheekbones with a shallow canine fossa,and a shallow palate with thick alveolar bone supporting very large molars.The excellent preservation of the Harbin cranium advances our understanding of several less-complete late Middle Pleistocene fossils from China,which have been interpreted as local evolutionary intermediates between the earlier species Homo erectus and later H.sapiens.Phylogenetic analyses based on parsimony criteria and Bayesian tip-dating suggest that the Harbin cranium and some other Middle Pleistocene human fossils from China,such as those from Dali and Xiahe,form a third East Asian lineage,which is a part of the sister group of the H.sapiens lineage.Our analyses of such morphologically distinctive archaic human lineages from Asia,Europe,and Africa suggest that the diversification of the Homo genus may have had a much deeper timescale than previously presumed.Sympatric isolation of small populations combined with stochastic long-distance dispersals is the best fitting biogeographical model for interpreting the evolution of the Homo genus.Xijun Ni Qiang Ji Wensheng Wu Qingfeng Shao Yannan Ji Chi Zhang Lei Liang Junyi Ge Zhen Guo Jinhua Li Qiang Li Rainer Grun Chris Stringer 2021The Innovation2021,2,3:6
3A phosphatidic acid-binding lncRNA SNHG9 facilitates LATS1 liquid–liquid phase separation to promote oncogenic YAP signaling显示文摘Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)are emerging as a new class of important regulators of signal transduction in tissue homeostasis and cancer development.Liquid–liquid phase separation(LLPS)occurs in a wide range of biological processes,while its role in signal transduction remains largely undeciphered.In this study,we uncovered a lipid-associated lncRNA,small nucleolar RNA host gene 9(SNHG9)as a tumor-promoting lncRNA driving liquid droplet formation of Large Tumor Suppressor Kinase 1(LATS1)and inhibiting the Hippo pathway.Mechanistically,SNHG9 and its associated phosphatidic acids(PA)interact with the C-terminal domain of LATS1,promoting LATS1 phase separation and inhibiting LATS1-mediated YAP phosphorylation.Loss of SNHG9 suppresses xenograft breast tumor growth.Clinically,expression of SNHG9 positively correlates with YAP activity and breast cancer progression.Taken together,our results uncover a novel regulatory role of a tumor-promoting lncRNA(i.e.,SNHG9)in signal transduction and cancer development by facilitating the LLPS of a signaling kinase(i.e.,LATS1).Rui-Hua Li Tian Tian Qi-Wei Ge Xin-Yu He Cheng-Yu Shi Jun-Hong Li Zhen Zhang Fang-Zhou Liu Ling-Jie Sang Zuo-Zhen Yang Ya-Zhuo Liu Yan Xiong Qingfeng Yan Xu Li Huai-Qiang Ju Jian Liu Liang-Jing Wang Jian-Zhong Shao Wenqi Wang Tianhua Zhou Aifu Lin 2021Cell Research2021,31,10:6
4Geochemical provenancing and direct dating of the Harbin archaic human cranium显示文摘As one of the most complete archaic human fossils,the Harbin cranium provides critical evidence for studying the diversification of the Homo genus and the origin of Homo sapiens.However,the unsystematic recovery of this cranium and a long and confused history since the discovery impede its accurate dating.Here,we carried out a series of geochemical analyses,including non-destructive X-ray fluorescence(XRF),rare earth elements(REE),and the Sr isotopes,to test the reported provenance of the Harbin cranium and get better stratigraphic constraints.The results show that the Harbin cranium has very similar XRF element distribution patterns,REE concentration patterns,and Sr isotopic compositions to those of the Middle Pleistocene-Holocene mammalian and human fossils recently recovered from the Harbin area.The sediments adhered in the nasal cavity of the Harbin cranium have a 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.711898,falling in the variation range measured in a core drilled near the Dongjiang Bridge,where the cranium was discovered during its reconstruction.The regional stratigraphic correlations indicate that the Harbin cranium was probably from the upper part of the Upper Huangshan Formation of the Harbin area,which has an optically stimulated luminescence dating constraint between 138 and 309 ka.U-series disequilibrium dating(n=10)directly on the cranium suggests that the cranium is older than 146 ka.The multiple lines of evidence from our experiments consistently support the theory that the Harbin cranium is from the late Middle Pleistocene of the Harbin area.Our study also shows that geochemical approaches can provide reliable evidence for locating and dating unsystematically recovered human fossils,and potentially can be applied to other human fossils without clear provenance and stratigraphy records.Qingfeng Shao Junyi Ge Qiang Ji Jinhua Li Wensheng Wu Yannan Ji Tao Zhan Chi Zhang Qiang Li Rainer Grun Chris Stringer Xijun Ni 2021The Innovation2021,2,3:3

6A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. 11Facile synthesis of hierarchical flower-like Ag/Cu2O and Au/Cu2O nanostructures and enhanced catalytic performance in electrochemical reduction of CO2显示文摘Novel,hierarchical,flower-like Ag/Cu2O and Au/Cu2O nanostructures were successfully fabricated and applied as efficient electrocatalysts for the electrochemical reduction of CO2.Cu2O nanospheres with a uniform size of^180 nm were initially synthesized.Thereafter,Cu2O was used as a sacrificial template to prepare a series of Ag/Cu2O composites through galvanic replacement.By varying the Ag/Cu atomic ratio,Ago.12/Cu2O,having a hierarchical,flower-like nanostructure with intersecting Ag nanoflakes encompassing an inner Cu2O sphere,was prepared.The as-prepared Ag/Cu2O samples presented higher Faradaic efficiencies(FE)for CO and relatively suppressed H2 evolution than the parent Cu2O nanospheres due to the combination of Ag with Cu2O in the former.Notably,the highest CO evolution rate was achieved with Ago.12/Cu2O due to the larger electroactive surface area furnished by the hierarchical structure.The same hier-archical flower-like structure was also obtained for the Auo./Cu2O composite,where the FEco(10%)was even higher than that of Ago.12/Cu2O.Importantly,the results reveal that Ago.12/Cu2O and Auo./Cu2O both exhibit remarkably improved stability relative to Cu2O.This study presents a facile method of developing hierarchical metal-oxide composites as fficient and stable electrocatalysts for the electrochemical reduction of CO2.Mengyun Wang Shengbo Zhang Mei Li Aiguo Han Xinli Zhu Qingfeng Ge Jinyu Han Hua Wang 2020Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,5:1

13Text Recognition of Barcode Images under Harsh Lighting Conditions显示文摘The inventory counting of silver ingots plays a key role in silver futures.However,the manual inventory counting is time-consuming and labor-intensive.Furthermore,the silver ingots are stored in warehouses with harsh lighting conditions,which makes the automatic inventory counting difficult.To meet the challenge,we propose an automatic inventory counting method integrating object detection and text recognition under harsh lighting conditions.With the help of our own dataset,the barcode on each silver ingot is detected and cropped by the feature pyramid network(FPN).The cropped image is normalized and corrected for text recognition.We use the PSENet+CRNN(Progressive Scale Expansion Network,Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network)for text detection and recognition to obtain the serial number of the silver ingot image.Experimental results show that the proposed automatic inventory counting method achieves good results since the accuracy of the proposed object detection and text recognition under harsh lighting conditions is near 99%.WU Xing GE Yuxi ZHANG Qingfeng CHEN Liming 2020Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2020,25,6:1

15Bamboo-like N-doped carbon nanotubes encapsulating M(Co,Fe)-Ni alloy for electrochemical production of syngas with potential-independent CO/H_(2) ratios显示文摘The electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)-H_(2)O into CO-H_(2) using renewable energy is a promising technique for clean syngas production.Low-cost electrocatalysts to produce tunable syngas with a potential-independent CO/H_(2) ratio are highly desired.Herein,a series of N-doped carbon nanotubes encapsulating binary alloy nanoparticles(MxNi-NCNT,M=Fe,Co)were successfully fabricated through the co-pyrolysis of melamine and metal precursors.The MxNi-NCNT samples exhibited bamboo-like nanotubular structures with a large specific surface area and high degree of graphitization.Their electrocatalytic performance for syngas production can be tuned by changing the alloy compositions and modifying the electronic structure of the carbon nanotube through the encapsulated metal nanoparticles.Consequently,syngas with a wide range of CO/H_(2) ratios,from 0.5:1 to 3.4:1,can be produced on MxNi-NCNT.More importantly,stable CO/H_(2) ratios of 2:1 and 1.5:1,corresponding to the ratio to produce biofuels by syngas fermentation,could be realized on Co1Ni-NCNT and Co2Ni-NCNT,respectively,over a potential window of-0.8 to-1.2 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode.Our work provides an approach to develop low-cost and potential-independent electrocatalysts to effectively produce syngas with an adjustable CO/H_(2) ratio from electrochemical CO_(2) reduction.Jinxiao Bo Mei Li Xinli Zhu Qingfeng Ge Jinyu Han Hua Wang 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,4:0
16Study of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Four Derivatives of Substituted Aryl Hydrazones of 1,8-Naphthalimide显示文摘Four 1,8-naphthalimide hydrazone molecules with different electron-donating groups have been applied in the study of linear and nonlinear optical(NLO)properties.These compounds showed strong green emission in solution.Their NLO properties such as two-photon absorption(TPA)behavior with femtosecond laser pulses ca.800 nm and excited-state absorption(ESA)behavior with nanosecond laser pulses at 532 nm were investigated.Compound 4 presented the largest two-photon cross section(550 GM)among them due to two factors:the conjugated length of compound 4 is the longest and the electron-donating ability of compound 4 is the strongest.Different from TPA behavior,compound 2 showed the best nonlinear absorption properties at 532 nm and its nonlinear absorption coef-ficient and third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilitiesχ^(3)were up to 1.41×10^(−10) MKS and 4.65×10^(−12) esu,re-spectively.Through the modification of the structure,the nonlinear optical properties of these compounds at differ-ent wavelengths(532 and 800 nm)were well tuned.The great broad-band nonlinear optical properties indicate hy-drazones are good candidates for organic nonlinear optical absorption materials.Peiyang Gu Xufeng Xu Feng Zhou Tingting Zhao Gaojie Ye Gaoyan Liu Qinghua Xu Jianfeng Ge Qingfeng Xu Jianmei Lu 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,3:0
17Analysis of the current Covid-19 infection and vaccination status in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1显示文摘Background:To investigate the common symptoms after Covid-19 infection,characteristics of adverse events after vaccination,changes in clinical manifestations related to Neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1),as well as the current vaccination status and factors related to vaccine hesitation among NF1 patients,in order to provide a basis for scientific protection and vaccine acceptance in NF1 individuals in the new phase of pandemic management.Methods:From December 29,2022,to January 10,2023,we conducted a self-assessment questionnaire survey among diagnosed NF1 patients.General data were provided including sex,age,main clinical presentations,and current treatment.This study mainly focused on the infection and vaccination status of Covid-19 among these patients with NF1.The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS26.0 software.Results:Of the 250 questionnaires distributed,226 were valid.Among the 164 patients(72.6%)with Covid-19 infection,the most common infection symptoms and incidence of patients were not significantly different from those in the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of symptoms such as nasal congestion,headache,myalgia,sore throat,abdominal pain,diarrhea,and eye discomfort was higher than that in the normal population(P<0.05),and no severe infection was observed;186 patients(82.3%)had completed the Covid-19 vaccination,and more than half of those who were not vaccinated had no plans for vaccination.Among the vaccinated patients,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events,such as fever,pain,redness,and swelling at the injection site after vaccination,compared to the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of fatigue and headache was higher in NF1 patients(P<0.001).Most patients with NF1 believe that there is no significant progressive change in NF1-related clinical manifestations after Covid-19 infection and vaccination.Conclusion:Currently,some NF1 patients appear to be worried about the evolution of their disease after Covid-19 infection in the face of large fluctuations in the pandemic situation,and some patients hesitate to receive the vaccine due to their special disease condition.Thus,clinical trials should be conducted to develop a refined pandemic response and vaccination program for this special group.Lingling Ge Yihui Gu Wei Wang Chengjiang Wei Zhichao Wang Qingfeng Li 2023Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2023,5,1:0
18Ultrafast Preparation of Nonequilibrium FeNi Spinels by Magnetic Induction Heating for Unprecedented Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysis显示文摘Carbon-supported nanocomposites are attracting particular attention as high-performance,low-cost electrocatalysts for electrochemical water splitting.These are mostly prepared by pyrolysis and hydrothermal procedures that are time-consuming(from hours to days)and typically difficult to produce a nonequilibrium phase.Herein,for the first time ever,we exploit magnetic induction heating-quenching for ultrafast production of carbon-FeNi spinel oxide nanocomposites(within seconds),which exhibit an unprecedentedly high performance towards oxygen evolution reaction(OER),with an ultralow overpotential of only+260 mV to reach the high current density of 100 mA cm^(-2).Experimental and theoretical studies show that the rapid heating and quenching process(ca.10^(3)K s^(-1))impedes the Ni and Fe phase segregation and produces a Cl-rich surface,both contributing to the remarkable catalytic activity.Results from this study highlight the unique advantage of ultrafast heating/quenching in the structural engineering of functional nanocomposites to achieve high electrocatalytic performance towards important electrochemical reactions.Bingzhang Lu Qiming Liu Chunyang Wang Zaheer Masood David J.Morris Forrest Nichols Rene Mercado Peng Zhang Qingfeng Ge Huolin L.Xin Shaowei Chen 2022Research2022,,4:0
19A DFT study of CO_2 electrochemical reduction on Pb(211) and Sn(112)显示文摘Electrochemical reduction of CO2 has the benefit of turning greenhouse gas emissions into useful resources. We performed a comparative study of the electrochemical reduction of CO2 on stepped Pb(211) and Sn(112) surfaces based on the results of density functional theory slab calculations. We mapped out the potential energy profiles for electrochemical reduction of CO2 to formate and other possible products on both surfaces. Our results show that the first step is the formation of the adsorbed formate(HCOO*) species through an Eley-Rideal mechanism. The formate species can be reduced to HCOO- through a oneelectron reduction in basic solution, which produces formic acid as the predominant product. The respective potentials of forming HCOO* are predicted to be -0.72 and -0.58 V on Pb and Sn. Higher overpotentials make other reaction pathways accessible, leading to different products. On Sn(112), CO and CH4 can be generated at -0.65 V following formate formation. 20Balancing the Activity and Selectivity of Propane Oxidative Dehydrogenation on NiOOH(001)and(010)显示文摘Propane oxidative dehydrogenation(ODH)is an energy-efficient approach to produce propylene.However,ODH suff ers from low propylene selectivity due to a relatively higher activation barrier for propylene formation compared with that for further oxidation.In this work,calculations based on density functional theory were performed to map out the reaction pathways of propane ODH on the surfaces(001)and(010)of nickel oxide hydroxide(NiOOH).Results show that propane is physisorbed on both surfaces and produces propylene through a two-step radical dehydrogenation process.The relatively low activation barriers of propane dehydrogenation on the NiOOH surfaces make the NiOOH-based catalysts promising for propane ODH.By contrast,the weak interaction between the allylic radical and the surface leads to a high activation barrier for further propylene oxidation.These results suggest that the catalysts based on NiOOH can be active and selective for the ODH of propane toward propylene.Lisheng Li Hua Wang Jinyu Han Xinli Zhu Qingfeng Ge 2020Transactions of Tianjin University2020,26,5:0
