| 3 | Faecal immunochemical test outside colorectal cancer screening?显示文摘Faecal immunochemical tests(FITs)are the most widely colorectal cancer(CRC)diagnostic biomarker available.Many population screening programmes are based on this biomarker,with the goal of reducing CRC mortality.Moreover,in recent years,a large amount of evidence has been produced on the use of FIT to detect CRC in patients with abdominal symptoms in primary healthcare as well as in surveillance after adenoma resection.The aim of this review is to highlight the available evidence on these two topics.We will summarize the evidence on diagnostic yield in symptomatic patients with CRC and significant colonic lesion and the different options to use this(thresholds,brands,number of determinations,prediction models and combinations).We will include recommendations on FIT strategies in primary healthcare proposed by regulatory bodies and scientific societies and their potential effects on healthcare resources and CRC prognosis.Finally,we will show information regarding FIT-based surveillance as an alternative to endoscopic surveillance after high-risk polyp resection.To conclude,due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic,FIT-based strategies have become extremely relevant since they enable a reduction of colonoscopy demand and access to the healthcare system by selecting individuals with the highest risk of CRC. | Noel Pin-Vieito Manuel Puga Daniel Fernández-de-Castro Joaquín Cubiella | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,38: | 2 |

| 5 | Plant adaptation to low phosphorus availability:Core signaling,crosstalks,and applied implications显示文摘Phosphorus(P)is an essential nutrient for plant growth and reproduction.Plants preferentially absorb P as orthophosphate(Pi),an ion that displays low solubility and that is readily fixed in the soil,making P limita-tion a condition common to many soils and Pi fertilization an inefficient practice.To cope with Pi limitation,plants have evolved a series of developmental and physiological responses,collectively known as the Pi starvation rescue system(PSR),aimed to improve Pi acquisition and use efficiency(PUE)and protect from Pi-starvation-induced stress.Intensive research has been carried out during the last 20 years to un-ravel the mechanisms underlying the control of the PSR in plants.Here we review the results of this research effort that have led to the identification and characterization of several core Pi starvation signaling components,including sensors,transcription factors,microRNAs(miRNAs)and miRNA inhibitors,kinases,phosphatases,and components of the proteostasis machinery.We also refer to recent results revealing the existence of intricate signaling interplays between Pi and other nutrients and antagonists,N,Fe,Zn,and As,that have changed the initial single-nutrient-centric view to a more integrated view of nutrient homeostasis.Finally,we discuss advances toward improving PUE and future research priorities. | Javier Paz-Ares Maria Isabel Puga Monica Rojas-Triana Iris Martinez-Hevia Sergio Diaz Cesar Poza-Carrión Miguel Mi(n)ambres Antonio Leyva | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Estimation of visceral fat is useful for the diagnosis of significant fibrosis in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘BACKGROUND Obesity is a risk factor for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),although obese patients with NAFLD do not always develop significant fibrosis.The distribution of body fat could predict the risk of NAFLD progression.AIM To investigate the role of bioelectrical impedance-estimated visceral fat(VF)in assessing NAFLD severity.METHODS In this cross-sectional study,patients with biopsy-proven NAFLD were prospectively included.All patients underwent anthropometric evaluation,blood tests and bioelectrical impedance analysis.RESULTS Between 2017 and 2020,119 patients were included[66.4%male,56 years(SD 10.7),62.2%obese,61.3%with metabolic syndrome].Sixty of them(50.4%)showed significant fibrosis(≥F2)in liver biopsy.Age,VF and metabolic syndrome were associated with significant fibrosis(61 years vs 52 years,16.4 vs 13.1,73.3%vs 49.2%,respectively;P<0.001 for all).In the multivariate analysis,VF and age were independently associated with significant fibrosis(VF,OR:1.11,95%CI:1.02-1.22,P=0.02;age,OR:1.08,95%CI:1.03-1.12,P<0.01).A model including these variables showed and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)of 0.75,which was not inferior to transient elastography or NAFLD fibrosis score AUROCs.We developed a nomogram including age and VF for assessing significant fibrosis in routine practice.CONCLUSION VF is a surrogate marker of liver fibrosis in patients with NAFLD.Bioelectrical impedance analysis is an inexpensive and simple method that can be combined with age to guide patient referral when other resources may be unavailable. | Marta Hernández-Conde Elba Llop Carlos Fernández Carrillo Beatriz Tormo Javier Abad Luis Rodriguez Christie Perelló Marta López Gomez JoséLuis Martínez-Porras Natalia Fernández Puga Maria Trapero-Marugan Enrique Fraga Carlos Ferre Aracil JoséLuis Calleja Panero | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,42: | 2 |
