| 1 | Development of metal organic fromwork-199 immobilized zeolite foam for adsorption of common indoor VOCs显示文摘Reticulated foam shaped adsorbents are more efficient for the removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs),particularly from low VOC-concentration indoor air streams. In this study composite structure of zeolite and metal organic frameworks(MOFs),referred as ZMF,has been fabricated by immobilization of fine MOF-199 powder on foam shaped Zeolite Socony Mobil-5(ZSM-5)Zeolitic structure,referred as ZF. The ZMF possess a uniform and well-dispersed coating of MOF-199 on the porous framework of ZF. It shows higher surface area,pore volume,and VOCs adsorption capacity,as compared to ZF-structure.Post-fabrication changes in selective adsorption properties of ZMF were studied with three common indoor VOCs(benzene,n-hexane,and cyclohexane),using gravimetric adsorption technique. The adsorption capacity of ZMF with different VOCs follow the order of benzene > n-hexane > cyclohexane. In comparison with MOF-199 and ZF,the composite structure ZMF shows improvement in selectivity for benzene from other two VOCs. Further,improvement in efficiency and stability of prepared ZMF was found to be associated with its high MOF loading capacity and unique morphological and structural properties. | 3 | Hepatic abscess induced by foreign body:Case report and literature review显示文摘Hepatic abscess due to perforation of the gastrointestinal tract caused by ingested foreign bodies is uncommon. Pre-operative diagnosis is difficult as patients are often unaware of the foreign body ingestion and symptoms and imagiology are usually non-specific. The authors report a case of 62-year-old woman who was admitted with fever and abdominal pain. Further investigation revealed hepatic abscess, without resolution despite antibiotic therapy. A liver abscess resulting from perforation and intra-hepatic migration of a bone coming from the pilorum was diagnosed by surgery. This encompasses the unique packaging and structure of the sperm genome along with their paternally derived RNAs in preparation for their delivery to the egg. The diversity of these transcripts is vast, including several anti-sense molecules resembling known regulatory micro-RNAs. The field is still grasping with its delivery to the oocyte at fertilization and possible significance. It remains tempting to analogize them to maternally-derived transcripts active in early embryo patterning. | 9 | No evidence of HPV DNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in a population of Southern Brazil显示文摘AIM:To investigate the association between human papillomavirus(HPV)and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)in southern Brazil.METHODS:We studied 189 esophageal samples from125 patients from three different groups:(1)102 biopsies from 51 patients with ESCC,with one sample from the tumor and another from normal esophageal mucosa distant from the tumor;(2)50 esophageal biopsies from 37 patients with a previous diagnosis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC);and(3)37 biopsies from esophageal mucosa with normal appearance from 37 dyspeptic patients,not exposed to smoking or alcohol consumption.Nested-polymerase chain reaction(PCR)with the MY09/11 and GP5/6 L1primers was used to detect HPV L1 in samples fixed in formalin and stored in paraffin blocks.All PCR reactions were performed with a positive control(cervicovaginal samples),with a negative control(Human Genomic DNA)and with a blank reaction containing all reagents except DNA.We took extreme care to prevent DNA contamination in sample collection,processing,and testing.RESULTS:The histological biopsies confirmed the diagnosis of ESCC in 52 samples(51 from ESCC group and 1 from the HNSCC group)and classified as well differentiated(12/52,23.1%),moderately differentiated(27/52,51.9%)or poorly differentiated(7/52,13.5%).One hundred twenty-eight esophageal biopsies were considered normal(51 from the ESCC group,42 from the HNSCC group and 35 from dyspeptic patients).Nine had esophagitis(7 from the HNSCC and 2 from dyspeptic patients).Of a total of 189 samples,only 6 samples had insufficient material for PCR analysis:1 from mucosa distant from the tumor in a patient with ESCC,3from patients with HNSCC and 2 from patients without cancer.In 183 samples(96.8%)GAPDH,G3PDH and/orβ-globin were amplified,thus indicating the adequacy of the DNA in those samples.HPV DNA was negative in all the 183 samples tested:52 with ESCC,9 with esophagitis and 122 with normal esophageal mucosa.CONCLUSION:There was no evidence of HPV infection in different ESCC from southern Brazil. | Luís Carlos Moreira Antunes Joo Carlos Prolla Antonio de Barros Lopes Marta Pires da Rocha Renato Borges Fagundes | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，39： | 4 |
| 10 | Circulating leptin and its muscle gene expression in Nellore cattle with divergent feed efficiency显示文摘Background: Leptin has a strong relation to important traits in animal production, such as carcass composition,feed intake, and reproduction. It is mainly produced by adipose cells and acts predominantly in the hypothalamus.In this study, circulating leptin and its gene expression in muscle were evaluated in two groups of young Nellore bulls with divergent feed efficiency. Individual dry matter intake(DMI) and average daily gain(ADG) of 98 Nellore bulls were evaluated in feedlot for 70 d to determinate the residual feed intake(RFI) and select 20 animals for the high feed efficient(LRFI) and 20 for the low feed efficient(HRFI) groups. Blood samples were collected on d 56 and at slaughter(80 d) to determine circulating plasma leptin. Samples of Longissimus dorsi were taken at slaughter for leptin gene expression levels.Results: DMI and RFI were different between groups and LRFI animals showed less back fat and rump fat thickness,as well as less pelvic and kidney fat weight. Circulating leptin increased over time in all animals. Plasma leptin was greater in LRFI on 56 d and at slaughter(P = 0.0049). Gene expression of leptin were greater in LRFI animals(P = 0.0022) in accordance with the plasma levels. | 18 | Evaluation of biodegradable electric conductive tube-guides and mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘AIM: To study the therapeutic effect of three tubeguides with electrical conductivity associated to mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) on neuro-muscular regeneration after neurotmesis.METHODS: Rats with 10-mm gap nerve injury were tested using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), PVA-carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and MSCs, and PVA-polypyrrole(PPy). The regenerated nerves and tibialis anterior muscles were processed for stereological studies after 20 wk. The functional recovery was assessed serially for gait biomechanical analysis, by extensor postural thrust, sciatic functional index and static sciatic functionalindex(SSI), and by withdrawal reflex latency(WRL). In vitro studies included cytocompatibility, flow cytometry, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and karyotype analysis of the MSCs. Histopathology of lung, liver, kidneys, and regional lymph nodes ensured the biomaterials biocompatibility. RESULTS: SSI remained negative throughout and independently from treatment. Differences between treted groups in the severity of changes in WRL existed, showing a faster regeneration for PVA-CNTs-MSCs(P < 0.05). At toe-off, less acute ankle joint angles were seen for PVA-CNTs-MSCs group(P = 0.051) suggesting improved ankle muscles function during the push off phase of the gait cycle. In PVA-PPy and PVA-CNTs groups, there was a 25% and 42% increase of average fiber area and a 13% and 21% increase of the 'minimal Feret's diameter' respectively. Stereological analysis disclosed a significantly(P < 0.05) increased myelin thickness(M), ratio myelin thickness/axon diameter(M/d) and ratio axon diameter/fiber diameter(d/D; g-ratio) in PVA-CNT-MSCs group(P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Results revealed that treatment with MSCs and PVA-CNTs tube-guides induced better nerve fiber regeneration. Functional and kinematics analysis revealed positive synergistic effects brought by MSCs and PVA-CNTs. | 19 | Ultrafast control of fractional orbital angular momentum of microlaser emissions显示文摘On-chip integrated laser sources of structured light carrying fractional orbital angular momentum(FOAM)are highly desirable for the forefront development of optical communication and quantum information-processing technologies.While integrated vortex beam generators have been previously demonstrated in different optical settings,ultrafast control and sweep of FOAM light with low-power control,suitable for high-speed optical communication and computing,remains challenging.Here we demonstrate fast control of the FOAM from a vortex semiconductor microlaser based on fast transient mixing of integer laser vorticities induced by a control pulse.A continuous FOAM sweep between charge 0 and charge+2 is demonstrated in a 100 ps time window,with the ultimate speed limit being established by the carrier recombination time in the gain medium.Our results provide a new route to generating vortex microlasers carrying FOAM that are switchable at GHz frequencies by an ultrafast control pulse. | Zhifeng Zhang Haoqi Zhao Danilo Gomes Pires Xingdu Qiao Zihe Gao Josep M.Jornet Stefano Longhi Natalia M.Litchinitser Liang Feng | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020，9，1： | 2 |
