1Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy With Segmental Renal Artery Clamping:Technique and Clinical Outcomes显示文摘Background:Warm ischemic injury is one of the most important factors affecting renal function in partial nephrectomy(PN).The technique of segmental renal artery clamping emerges as an alternative to conventional renal artery clamping for renal hilar control.Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of laparoscopic PN(LPN) with segmental renal artery clamping in comparison with the conventional technique.Design,setting,and participants:A total of 75 patients underwent LPN from June 2007 to November 2009.All patients had T1a or T1b tumor in one kidney and a normal contralateral kidney.Thirty-seven patients underwent surgeries with main renal artery clamping,and 38 underwent surgeries with segmental artery clamping.Intervention:All procedures were performed by the same laparoscopic surgeon.Measurements:Blood loss,operation time,warm ischemia(WI) time,and complications affected renal function before and after operation were recorded.Results and limitations:All LPNs were completed without conversion to open surgery or nephrectomy.The novel technique slightly increased WI time(p < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss(p = 0.006),while it provided better postoperative affected renal function(p < 0.001) compared with the conventional technique.The total complication rate was 12%.Among the 38 cases where segmental renal artery clamping was performed,7 had to convert to the conventional method.Tumor size and location influenced the number of clamped segmental arteries.Long-term postoperative renal function is still awaited.Conclusions:LPN with segmental artery clamping is safe and feasible in clinical practice.It minimizes the intraoperative WI injury and improves early postoperative affected renal function compared with main renal artery clamping.(C) 2010 European Association of Urology.Published by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Shao,P.F. 3Neutrophil extracellular traps mediate the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment via the HMGB1/RAGE/IL-8 axis显示文摘Objective:Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)produced by tumor-infiltrating neutrophils(TINs)are associated with poor prognosis in patients with several types of cancer.However,the mechanisms underlying the involvement of NETs in glioma progression remain largely unknown.This study aimed to elucidate the roles of NETs in biological processes that drive the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment.Methods:Neutrophil infiltration and NETs formation were investigated in glioma tissue through immunohistochemistry,and their relationships with clinicopathological features and outcomes were statistically evaluated.The effects of NETs on glioma cell progression were studied in a co-culture system.In vivo and in vitro experiments validated the reactive oxygen species activity and cytokine production of TINs,as well as the ERK signaling pathway activation and the metastasis of gliomas.Results:Neutrophil infiltration and NETs formation were induced in high-grade glioma compared with low-grade glioma.NETs induced by TINs were determined to be an oncogenic marker of high-grade gliomas and to be involved in cell proliferation and invasion.NETs overproduction promoted glioma cell proliferation,migration,and invasion.Furthermore,HMGB1 was found to bind to RAGE and activate the NF-κB signaling pathway in vitro.In addition,NETs stimulated the NF-κB signaling pathway,thus promoting IL-8 secretion in glioblastoma.Subsequently,IL-8 recruited neutrophils which in turn mediated NETs formation via the PI3 K/AKT/ROS axis in TINs.Conclusions:Our results suggest that NETs produced by TINs mediate the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment by regulating the HMGB1/RAGE/IL-8 axis.Targeting NETs formation or IL-8 secretion may be an effective approach to inhibit glioma progression.Caijun Zha Xiangqi Meng Lulu Li Shan Mi Da Qian Ziwei Li Pengfei Wu Shaoshan Hu Shihong Zhao Jinquan Cai Yanhong Liu 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1:19
4The electromagnetic wave experiment for CSES mission: Search coil magnetometer显示文摘The seismic activities on the Earth can produce a disturbance of the electromagnetic field and particles in the ionosphere. The search coil magnetometer(SCM) mounted on China Seismo-Electromagnetic satellite(CSES) is designed to measure the magnetic field fluctuation of low frequency electromagnetic waves in the frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz. The SCM comprises a three-axis search coil sensor mounted on a 4.5 m boom and an electronic box inside satellite module. The sampling rate of the SCM is 51.2 k Hz and the time resolution of the power spectrum density(PSD) is 2 s. The frequency resolution is 12.5 Hz.There are three operation modes: survey, detailed survey and calibration. In the survey mode, the SCM can provide a PSD in the whole frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz and wave forms in the low frequency range below 2 k Hz while in the detailed survey mode the SCM can provide both PSD and wave forms in the whole frequency range of 10 Hz–20 k Hz. The sensitivity of the SCM instrument is 5.0×10^(-4) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 10 Hz, 5.0×10^(–5) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 200 Hz, 3.4×10^(-5) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 2 k Hz and 1.1×10^(-4) n T Hz^(-1/2) at 20 k Hz. The telemetry rate is ~0.85 Mbps in the survey mode and ~3.0 Mbps in the detailed survey mode. The phase difference between three axes can be made generally with a precision of less than 1.0°. The dynamic range of the SCM instrument is over 100 d B. The orthogonality of three mechanical axes of search coil senor is better than 0.13°. 5Unequal-thickness billet optimization in transitional region during isothermal local loading forming of Ti-alloy rib-web component using response surface method显示文摘Avoiding the folding defect and improving the die filling capability in the transitional region are desired in isothermal local loading forming of a large-scale Ti-alloy rib-web component(LTRC). To achieve a high-precision LTRC, the folding evolution and die filling process in the transitional region were investigated by 3 D finite element simulation and experiment using an equal-thickness billet(ETB). It is found that the initial volume distribution in the second-loading region can greatly affect the amount of material transferred into the first-loading region during the second-loading step, and thus lead to the folding defect. Besides, an improper initial volume distribution results in non-concurrent die filling in the cavities of ribs after the second-loading step, and then causes die underfilling. To this end, an unequal-thickness billet(UTB) was employed with the initial volume distribution optimized by the response surface method(RSM). For a certain eigenstructure, the critical value of the percentage of transferred material determined by the ETB was taken as a constraint condition for avoiding the folding defect in the UTB optimization process,and the die underfilling rate was considered as the optimization objective. Then, based on the RSM models of the percentage of transferred material and the die underfilling rate, non-folding parameter combinations and optimum die filling were achieved. 6High power all-fiberized and narrow-bandwidth MOPA system by tandem pumping strategy for thermally induced mode instability suppression显示文摘An all-fiberized and narrow-bandwidth master oscillator power amplification(MOPA) system with record output power of 4 kW level and slope efficiency of 78% is demonstrated. Tandem pumping strategy is tentatively introduced into the narrow-bandwidth MOPA system for thermally induced mode instability(TMI) suppression. The stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) effect is balanced by simply using one-stage phase modulation technique. With different phase modulation signals, SBS limited output powers of 336 W, 1.2 kW and 3.94 kW are respectively achieved with spectral bandwidths accounting for 90% power of ~0.025, 0.17 and ~0.89 nm. Compared with our previous 976 nm pumping system, TMI threshold is overall boosted to be >5 times in which tandem pumping increases the TMI threshold of >3times. The beam quality(M~2 factor) of the output laser is well within 1.5 below the TMI threshold while it is ultimately saturated to be 1.86 with the influence of TMI at maximal output power. Except for SBS and TMI, stimulated Raman scattering(SRS) effect will be another challenge for further power scaling. 8The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) mission: An overview显示文摘The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE), dubbed “Xihe”—Goddess of the Sun, was launched on October 14, 2021 as the first solar space mission of China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE mission is designed to test a newly developed satellite platform and to acquire the spectroscopic observations in the Hα waveband. The Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS)is the scientific payload of the CHASE satellite. It consists of two observational modes: raster scanning mode and continuum imaging mode. The raster scanning mode obtains full-Sun or region-of-interest spectral images from 6559.7 to 6565.9 ? and from 6567.8 to 6570.6 ? with 0.024 ? pixel spectral resolution and 1 min temporal resolution. The continuum imaging mode obtains photospheric images in continuum around 6689 ? with the full width at half maximum of 13.4 ?. The CHASE mission will advance our understanding of the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere. 10Amorphous Zr(OH)4 coated LiNi0.915Co0.075Al0.01O2 cathode material with enhanced electrochemical performance for lithium ion batteries显示文摘LiNi_(0.915)Co_(0.075)Al_(0.01)O_2(NCA) with Zr(OH)_4 coating is demonstrated as high performance cathode material for lithium ion batteries(LIBs). The coated materials are synthesized via a simple dry coating method of NCA with Zr(OH)_4 powders, and then characterized with scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). Experimental results show that amorphous Zr(OH)_4 powders have been successfully coated on the surface of spherical NCA particles, exhibiting improved electrochemical performance. 0.50 wt% Zr(OH)_4 coated NCA delivers a capacity of 197.6 mAh/g at the first cycle and 154.3 mAh/g after 100 cycles with a capacity retention of 78.1% at 1 C rate. In comparison, the pure NCA shows a capacity of 194.6 mAh/g at the first cycle and 142.5 mAh/g after 100 cycles with a capacity retention of 73.2% at 1 C rate. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) results show that the coated material exhibits a lower resistance, indicating that the coating layer can efficiently suppress transition metals dissolution and decrease the side reactions at the surface between the electrode and electrolyte. 13Prevalence of liver injury among patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy in China显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To estimate the prevalence of liver injury among patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) who received highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART) in rural Henan Province in China, and to explore whether Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) treatment based on HAART would increase this risk.METHODS: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study. We collected medical information on patients with AIDS from two treatment databases in2014. Criteria established by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group in 1996 were used for grading liver injury,classified based on the limit of normal(ULN) for alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase:grade 1(1.25-2.5 × ULN); grade 2(2.6-5 × ULN);grade 3(5.1-10 × ULN); and grade 4(> 10 × ULN).Factors associated with liver injury were evaluated using a logistic regression model.RESULTS: A total 6953 patients with AIDS(3324 male and 3629 female patients) were enrolled into this study. The prevalence of liver injury was 22.0%(18.0% grade 1, 3.1% grade 2, 0.9% grade 3). In multivariate analysis, patients aged 34-45 years were more likely to have liver injury than patients in other age groups [adjusted odds ratio(AOR), 1.39; 95%CI, 1.01-1.91)]. Other factors associated with liver injury included male sex(AOR, 1.64; 95% CI,1.46-1.85), HIV infection via blood(AOR, 1.47; 95%CI, 1.19-1.82), hepatitis B virus antibody positive(AOR, 1.07; 95% CI, 0.85-1.36), and hepatitis C virus(HCV) antibody positive(AOR, 2.76; 95% CI,2.28-3.34).CONCLUSION: The prevalence of liver injury was relatively high among HAART-experienced patients. Several factors associated with liver injury included male sex, age 35-45 years old, HIV infection through blood, and concurrent HCV infection. 14Effects of samarium content on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg–0.5Zn–0.5Zr alloy显示文摘Effects of samarium (Sm) content (0, 2.0, 3.5, 5.0, 6.5 wt%) on microstructure and mechanical proper-ties of Mg-0.5Zn-0.5 Zr alloy under as-cast and as-extruded states were thoroughly investigated. Results indicate that grains of the as-cast alloys are gradually refined as Sm content increases. The dominant intermetallic ph^se changes from Mg3Sm to Mg4iSm5 till Sm content exceeds 5.0 wt%. The dynami-cally precipitated intermetallic phase during hot-extrusion in dll Sm-containing alloys is Mg3Sm. The intermetallic particles induced by Sm addition could act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for dynamic recrystallization during hot extrusion. They promoted dynamic recrystallization via the particle stim-ulated nucleation mechanism, and resulted in weakening the basal texture in the as-extruded alloys. Sm addition can significantly enhance the strength of the as-extruded Mg-0.5Zn-0.5Zr alloy at room temperature, with the optimal dosage of 3.5 wt%. The optimal yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) are 368 MPa and 383 MPa, which were enhanced by approximately 23.1% and 20.8% com-pared with the Sm-free alloy, respectively. 15Pulse width modulation voltage source deadtime effect on partial discharge and lifetime of inverter‐fed motor insulation显示文摘This paper analyses the impact of square wave pulse voltage deadtime on the partial discharge(PD)and the lifetime of turn-to-turn insulation.A bipolar repetitive pulse voltage with a deadtime of 0–10μs is produced using double half-bridge solid-state switches having push–pull technology controlled by a field-programmable gate array.The mechanism of the discharge process at rising and falling edges of the pulse voltage before and after deadtime is analysed in detail.The discharge amplitude and PD probability at the rising/falling edges of the voltage waveform increase as the deadtime increases from 0 to 10μs due to the remanent charges.The number of PD and their intensity is higher at the first rising/falling edges of pulse voltage as compared to the second rising/falling edges for all deadtimes 0–10μs.As the deadtime increases beyond 2μs,the number of PDs increases and concentrates at a specific phase angle of rising/falling edges.These localise discharges degrade the insulation material and reduce its lifetime.This study helps to identify the inverter-fed motor insulation faults due to deadtime.It can provide guidelines to motor insulation designers to determine the limit value of deadtime to compensate PD and ensure the safer operation of such motors.Shakeel Akram Peng Wang Pengfei Meng Gian Carlo Montanari Farhan Hameed Malik 2022High Voltage2022,7,6:2
16Ammonia leaching mechanism and kinetics of LiCoO_(2) material from spent lithium-ion batteries显示文摘In this paper,the ammonia leaching process and high-energy ball milling method were adapted to recover spent LiCoO_(2) material.The ammonia reduction leaching mechanism of LiCoO_(2) material in the ammonia-sodium sulfite-ammonium chloride system was elucidated.Compared with untreated LiCoO_(2) material,the leaching equilibrium time of LiCoO_(2) after ball-milled for 5 h was reduced from 48 h to 4 h,and the leaching efficiency of lithium and cobalt was improved from 69.86%and 70.80%to 89.86%and98.22%,respectively.Importantly,the apparent activation energy and leaching kinetic equation of the reaction was calculated by the shrinking core reaction model,indicating that the reaction was controlled by the chemical reaction.Dongmin Li Bao Zhang Xing Ou Jiafeng Zhang Kui Meng Guanjun Ji Pengfei Li Jianhui Xu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7:2
17Monolithic high-average-power linearly polarized nanosecond pulsed fiber laser with near-diffraction-limited beam quality显示文摘An all-fiberized high-average-power narrow linewidth ns pulsed laser with linear polarization is demonstrated. The laser system utilizes a typical master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) configuration. The stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) is effectively suppressed due to the short fiber length and large mode area in the main amplifier, combined with the narrow pulse duration smaller than the phonon lifetime of SBS effect. A maximal output power of 466 W is obtained with a narrow linewidth of ~203.6 MHz, and the corresponding slope efficiency is ~80.3%. The pulse duration is condensed to be ~4 ns after the amplification, corresponding to the peak power of 8.8 kW and the pulse energy of 46.6 μJ. Neardiffraction-limited beam quality with an M2 factor of 1.32 is obtained at the output power of 442 W and the mode instability(MI) is observed at the maximal output power.
