1Changes of Expressions of VEGF, bFGF, and Angiogenesis, and Effect of Benazepril, bFGF on Angiogenesis in Acute Myocardial Infarction Model of the Rabbits显示文摘Objective To explore the changes of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and angiogenesis, and the effects of bFGF, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibiter(ACEI) benazepril on the angiogenesis in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) model of rabbits, and to provide a probable evidence for the treatment of AMI. Methods AMI model was established by ligating anterior descending branch of coronary artery of Japan-Sino hybridization white rabbits. The postoperative rabbits were randomly divided into 6 groups and each group was treated with different drugs. Groups 1 and 2 were treated with normal saline (NS) for 28 and 14 days (d), group 3 and 4 with bFGF for 28 and 14 d, groups 5 with benazepril for 14 d, and group 6 with benazepril and bFGF for 14 d respectively. The rabbits were killed on the 14th or 28th d and their hearts were excised, sectioned and stained with HE, Masson trichrome to observe VEGF, bFGF and CD34 under a microscope, which were quantified with a computer-assisted morphometry. Results Compared with group 1, the granulation tissue of infarction zone (IZ) in group 2 freshened up, and the capillary density (CD) in IZ was increased (P=0.002). The CD in the IZ as well as VEGF and bFGF in groups 3 and 4 were increased respectively (P=0.011-0.037). In group 5 the changes of VEGF and bFGF were not found in the IZ and the border zone (BZ) while CD was significantly increased (35.4% and 25.6%, P=0.036 and 0.037). Compared with group 2, the CD in the IZ and BZ of group 6 was significantly increased (63.4% and 44.3% P=0.007 and 0.007), meanwhile VEGF and bFGF were increased. Compared with group 5, only VEGF was increased. Conclusion Intravenous bFGF may increase VEGF and bFGF significantly, thus promoting the angiogenesis in the IZ and BZ in cardiac infarction as VEGF and bFGF are the potent angiogenic growth factors. Benazepril may promote angiogenesis in the IZ and BZ in cardiac infarction, but its mechanism is irrelative to the expression of VEGF and bFGF. 2Using genomic data to improve the estimation of general combining ability based on sparse partial diallel cross designs in maize显示文摘Evaluation of general combining ability(GCA)is crucial to hybrid breeding in maize.Although the complete diallel cross design can provide an efficient estimation,sparse partial diallel cross(SPDC)is more flexible in breeding practice.Using real and simulated data sets of partial diallel crosses between 266 maize inbred lines,this study investigated the performance of SPDC designs for estimating the GCA.With different distributions of parental lines involved in crossing(called random,balanced and unbalanced samplings),different numbers of hybrids were sampled as the training sets to estimate the GCA of the 266 inbred lines.In this process,three statistical approaches were applied.One obtained estimations through the ordinary least square(OLS)method,and the other two utilized genomic prediction(GP)to estimate the GCA.It was found that the coefficient of determination of each approach was always higher than the heritability of a target trait,showing that the GCA for maize inbred lines could be accurately predicted with SPDC designs.Both the GP approaches were more accurate than the OLS,particularly in the scenario for a low-heritability trait with a small sample size.Additionally,prediction results demonstrated that a big sample of hybrids could greatly help improve the accuracy.The random sampling of parental lines had little influence on the average accuracy.However,the prediction for lines that never or seldom involved in crossing might suffer from much lower accuracy.Xin Wang Zhenliang Zhang Yang Xu Pengchen Li Xuecai Zhang Chenwu Xu 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,5:4
3Low-dimensional metal halide perovskites and related optoelectronic applications显示文摘Low-dimensional materials have pivotal significance in modern photonic,electronic,and optoelectronic areas due to their unique properties of the scale effect.Metal halide perovskites have revived in the optoelectronic fields recently,drawing intensive attention in photovoltaic devices,light-emitting diodes,lasers,photodetectors,and so on.Compared to their three-dimensional counterparts,the role of low-dimensional perovskites is becoming crucial,requiring a comprehensive understanding and exploration unceasingly.In this review,we examine low-dimensional perovskite of different forms and clarify various synthesis methods with morphological and dimensional control.Additionally,we also summarize potential optoelectronic applications based on their advantageous optical/electrical properties and enhanced mechanical integrity and stability.Finally,we propose a future perspective and possible developing directions in the exploration of novel perovskite-derived materials,new physics,and promising applications.Pengchen Zhu Jia Zhu 2020InfoMat2020,2,2:4
4The C-Terminal Portion of the Nucleocapsid Protein Demonstrates SARS-CoV Antigenicity显示文摘In order to develop clinical diagnostic tools for rapid detection of SARS-CoV (severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus) and to identify candidate proteins for vaccine development, the C-terminal portion of the nucleocapsid (NC)gene was amplified using RT-PCR from the SARS-CoV genome, cloned into a yeast expression vector (pEGH), and expressed as a glutathione S-transferase (GST) and Hisx6 double-tagged fusion protein under the control of an inducible promoter.Western analysis on the purified protein confirmed the expression and purification of the NC fusion proteins from yeast. 5Effects of copper-aspirin complex on platelet-neutrophil interactions显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of copper-aspirin complex on rat thrombosis and the interaction between plateletsand neutrophils. METHODS: The model of electrically stimulated carotid artery thrombosis in Sprague Dawleyrats was used; the effects of copper-aspirin complex on rat platelet-neutrophil adhesion and platelet aggregationstimulated by activated neutrophils were observed by rosette assay and Borns method, respectively. RESULTS:Intragastric copper-aspirin complex (5, 7, and 10 mg/kg) dose-dependently prolonged the occlusion time; it signifi-cantly decreased the rosette number formed between thrombin-activated platelets and neutrophils; the 50 % ofinhibitory concentration (IC50) was (54.64.3) mol/L. Copper-aspirin complex markedly inhibited rat plateletaggregation induced by either cell free supernatant of activated neutrophils or by activated neutrophil suspension.The values of IC50 were (224.516.2) mol/L and (820.521.4) mol/L, whereas aspirin had no influence.CONCLUSION: Copper-aspirin complex inhibited platelet-neutrophil interactions through a different property fromaspirin and resulted in a more potent antithrombotic activity.Zhi-qiangSHEN PengCHENt LingLI,PengCHEN Wei-pingLIU 2004Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2004,25,5:3

11Effects of Seawater Acidification on Early Development of Clam Cyclina sinensis显示文摘Anthropogenic emission of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) has led to a rapid increase in atmospheric CO2 concentra- tion. Increasing atmospheric CO2 can reduce seawater pH and carbonate ions, which may adversely affect the survival of the larvae of calcareous animals. Cyclina sinensis is a commercially and ecologically important species in several Asian countries. Living in coast shallow waters, this species has experienced the coastal environmental changes frequently throughout its life cycle. In this study, we simulated possible future seawater pH values including 8.2, 7.8 and 7.4 and examined the effects of ocean acidification on the early development of C. sinensis. Clam embryos were incubated for 48 h (2 d) in control and high-CO2 seawater to compare embryo- genesis, larval growth and swimming behavior. Fertilization rate was quite sensitive to pH, and moderate acidification could induce a significant decrease in fertilization rate. However, only extreme acidification could bring significant negative effect to hatching rate, body size, and average path velocity of trochophora. Moreover, with seawater acidification, C. sinensis needs much more time to reach the same developmental stage, which increases the risk of larva survival. 15Expression and role of PTV1 lncRNA in glioma cells progression显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of PTV1 lncRNA in gliomas and themechanism of its interaction with miR-203a.Methods U87 and U251 cells were cultured stably and transfected with sh-PTV1 or ov-PTV1, respectively.The proliferative activity of U87 and U251 cells was detected and the transplanted tumor model nude micewere divided into U87 and U251 groups. U87-sh and u251-ov cells were injected into the armpit, thenmiR-203a mic and miR-203a inhibitors were administered to detect the changes in the expression of tumorrelatedproteins.Results The relative expression of PTV1 in gliomas was significantly higher than that in normal braintissues, while in GBM it was significantly higher than that in low-grade gliomas. Knockdown of PTV1significantly inhibited the proliferation of U87 cells, resulting in fewer cell clones;overexpression of rPTV1significantly promoted the proliferation of U251 cells, resulting in more cell colonies. The dual LuciferaseReporter assay showed that SP2 was a potential target of miR-203a. When U87 cells were treated with amiR-203a mimic, the expression of SP2 decreased;and when U251 cells were treated with a miR-203ainhibitor, the expression of SP2 increased significantly. SP2 was overexpressed in u87-sh cells and theproliferation, migration, and invasion of u87-sh cells were significantly enhanced. U251-ov cells showedthe opposite trend. Compared with the control group mice, the tumor volume in u87-sh group mice wassignificantly smaller and the positive rate of SP2 in tumor tissue was significantly lower. 16Mechanical Analysis for Two-layered Ultrahigh Pressure Apparatus with Interlayer Pressure显示文摘To improve the bearing pressure capacity of ultrahigh pressure apparatus,the internal autofrettaged cylinder with interlayer pressure(ACCIP)is introduced,and the analytical model for the ACCIP structure and its derivation are presented as well.Calculation showed that the ACCIP method enhance bearing pressure of the apparatus obviously;optimization results revealed that under the working pressure pw=1.07σs and different radius ratios,the ACCIP method can keep the apparatus in deformed-elastically state;And when the pw=1.07σs,the minimum radius ratio was approximate 3.29,in this case,no yielding happened.The above results demonstrate that the ACCIP method is a promising technique to improve the bearing pressure of ultrahigh pressure apparatus,and the analytical model for the ACCIP method is also reasonable.In addition,the minimum radius ratio ro/ri under randomly specified workload can be Fig.d out by the analytical model proposed in this work.Mengjun ZHAO Pengchen ZHU Zan LIU Chao KANG 2021Mechanical Engineering Science2021,3,1:0

18Recent applications in dielectric barrier discharge and radio frequency plasmas‐engineered transition metal electrocatalysts for water splitting显示文摘Hydrogen generated by water electrolysis is considered as one of the most promising protocols to partly replace the roles of traditional fossil fuels.However,high‐performance electrocatalyst satisfied with the industrial requirement still faces significant challenges.Low‐temperature plasma contains numerous high‐energy ions,electrons and other reactive species,which can provide a highly reactive environment for tuning the physio‐chemical structures of catalysts through plasma milling,etching,doping and/or deposi-tion.It is well‐known that high‐temperature micro‐filaments contained in plasmas can cause some special modifications of the catalyst surface,thus effectively adjusting the physio‐chemical structure of latterly engineered compounds.Therefore,low‐temperature plasma technologies,especially the dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)and radio frequency(RF)plasmas,can be considered as a green and sustainable strategy for engineering high‐performance electrocatalysts for water splitting(hydrogen evolution reaction[HER];oxygen evolution reaction[OER]).Herein,recent progress of DBD and RF plasmas for fabricating and modifying transition metal‐based electrocatalysts(e.g.sulphide,phos-phide,selenide,oxide,hydroxide)for hydrogen evolution reaction or OER is compre-hensively reviewed,and the role of plasma is also discussed.Guangliang Chen Bin He Yuxin Wang Pengchen He Liguang Dou Renwu Zhou Dongliang Chen Tao Shao 2023High Voltage2023,8,6:0
