| 2 | Effects of alkaline-electrolyzed and hydrogen-rich water,in a high-fat-diet nonalcoholic fatty liver disease mouse model显示文摘AIM To identify the effect of hydrogen-rich water(HRW) and electrolyzed-alkaline water(EAW) on high-fat-induced non-alcoholic fatty acid disease in mice.METHODS Mice were divided into four groups:(1) Regular diet(RD)/regular water(RW);(2) high-fat diet(HFD)/RW;(3) RD/EAW; and(4) HFD/EAW. Weight and body composition were measured. After twelve weeks, animals were sacrificed, and livers were processed for histology and reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. A similar experiment was performed using HRW to determine the influence and importance of molecular hydrogen(H2) in EAW. Finally, we compared the response of hepatocytes isolated from mice drinking HRW or RW to palmitate overload.RESULTS EAW had several properties important to the study:(1) pH = 11;(2) oxidation-reduction potential of-495 mV; and(3) H2 = 0.2 mg/L. However, in contrast to other studies, there were no differences between the groups drinking EAW or RW in either the RD or HFD groups. We hypothesized that the null result was due to low H2 concentrations. Therefore, we evaluated the effects of RW and low and high HRW concentrations(L-HRW = 0.3 mg H2/L and H-HRW = 0.8 mg H2/L, respectively) in mice fed an HFD. Compared to RW and L-HRW, H-HRW resulted in a lower increase in fat mass(46% vs 61%), an increase in lean body mass(42% vs 28%), and a decrease in hepatic lipid accumulation(P < 0.01). | 4 | Antiviral therapy in cytomegalovirus-positive ulcerative colitis:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the impact of antiviral treatment on cytomegalovirus(CMV)-positive ulcerative colitis patients.METHODS:We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis(MA)of comparative cohort and casecontrol studies published between January 1966 and March 2013.Studies focusing on colectomy series and studies including only less than 3 patients in the treated or non-treated arm were excluded.The primary outcome was colectomy within 30 d of diagnosis.Secondary outcomes included colectomy during the follow-up period Subgroup analyses by method of detection of CMV,study design,risk of bias and country of origin were performed.Quality of studies was evalu-ated according to modified New-Castle Ottawa Scale.RESULTS:After full-text review,nine studies with a total of 176 patients were included in our MA.All the included studies were of low to moderate quality.Patients who have received antiviral treatment had a higher risk of 30-d colectomy(OR=2.40;95%CI:1.05-5.50;I2=37.2%).A subgroup analysis including only patients in whom CMV diagnosis was based did not demonstrate a significant difference between the groups(OR=3.41;95%CI:0.39-29.83;I2=56.9%).Analysis of long-term colectomy rates was possible for 6 studies including110 patients.No statistically significant difference was found between the treated and untreated groups(OR=1.71;95%CI:0.71-4.13;6 studies,I2=0%).Analysis of mortality rate was not possible due to a very limited number of cases.Stratification of the outcomes by disease severity was not possible.CONCLUSION:No positive association between antiviral treatment and a favorable outcome was demonstrated.These findings should be interpreted cautiously due to primary studies’quality and potential biases. | Uri Kopylov Noa Eliakim-Raz Andrew Szilagy Ernest Seidman Shomron Ben-Horin Lior Katz | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，10： | 4 |

| 6 | Systematic review of macular ganglion cell complex analysis using spectral domain optical coherence tomography for glaucoma assessment显示文摘AIM: To review the use of spectral domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT) for macular retinal ganglion cells(RGC) and ganglion cell complex(GCC) measurement in glaucoma assessment, specifically for early detection and detection of disease progression. METHODS: A systematic review was performed by searching Pub Med, Medline, and Web of Science for articles published in English through July 2014 describing the various macular SD-OCT scanning strategies developed for glaucoma assessment. The review focused on papers evaluating the use of macular RGC/GCC SDOCT to detect early glaucoma and its progression. The search included keywords corresponding to the index test(macular ganglion cell/RGC/GCC/Spectral domain OCT), the target condition(glaucoma), and diagnostic performance. The RGC/GCC SD-OCT scanning strategies used to assess glaucoma of most commonly used SD-OCT instruments were described and compared. These included the Cirrus high definition-OCT(Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc., Dublin, CA, United States), RTVue(Optovue, Inc., Fremont, CA, United States), Spectralis(Heidelberg Engineering, Heidelberg, Germany) and the 3D OCT 2000(Topcon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan). Studies focusing on the ability of RGC/GCC SD-OCT to detect early glaucomatous damage and on the correlation between glaucomatous progression and RGC/GCC measurement by SD-OCT were reviewed.RESULTS: According to the literature, macular RGC/GCC SD-OCT has high diagnostic power of preperimetric glaucoma, reliable discrimination ability to differentiate between healthy eyes and glaucomatous eyes, with good correlation with visual filed damage. The current data suggests that it may serve as a sensitive detection tool for glaucomatous structural progression even with mild functional progression as the rate of change of RGC/GCC thickness was found to be significantly higher in progressing than in stable eyes. Glaucoma assessment with RGC/GCC SD-OCT was comparable with and sometimes better than circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness measurement.CONCLUSION: An increasing body of evidence supports using macular RGC/GCC thickness as an indicator for early glaucoma. | 11 | Motivation dimensions for running a marathon:A new model emerging from the Motivation of Marathon Scale(MOMS)显示文摘Purpose:The aim of this study was to test and expand the Motivation of Marathoners Scale(MOMS) model(Masters et al.,1993).Methods:The MOMS questionnaire was distributed to 306 male and female marathon runners(age range:20–77 years) with experience in marathon running(range:1–44 runs).A confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) revealed that the original model failed to fit the data.Hence,exploratory factor analysis(EFA) was performed to test the best factorial solution for the current data,and a subsequent CFA was performed on the revised factorial structure.Then,a series of EFAs using maximum likelihood factor extraction method were performed.Results:The best structure solution for model-data fit resulted in 11 factors:psychological coping—emotional-related coping,psychological coping—everyday-life management,life meaning,self-esteem,recognition,affiliation,weight concerns,general health orientation—reduced disease prevalence and longevity,general health orientation—keep fit,competition,and personal goal achievement.Conclusion:This study provides a sound and solid framework for studying motivation for physically demanding tasks such as marathon runs,and needs to be similarly applied and tested in studies incorporating physical tasks which vary in mental demands. | Sima Zach Yan Xia Aviva Zeev Michal Arnon Noa Choresh Gershon Tenenbaum | 2017 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2017，6，3： | 2 |

| 13 | Cytokinin but not gibberellin application had major impact on the phenylpropanoid pathway in grape显示文摘Cytokinin and gibberellic acid(GA)are growth regulators used to increase berry size in seedless grapes and it is of interest to understand their effects on the phenylpropanoid pathway and on ripening processes.GA 3 and synthetic cytokinin forchlorfenuron(N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N′-phenylurea,CPPU)and their combination were applied to 6 mm diameter fruitlets of‘Sable Seedless’,and berries were sampled 51 and 70 days(d)following application.All treatments increased berry size and delayed sugar accumulation and acid degradation with a stronger effect of CPPU.CPPU,but not GA,reduced berry color and the levels of anthocyanins.While CPPU reduced the levels of anthocyanins by more than 50%,the combined treatment of GA+CPPU reduced the levels by about 25%at 51 d.CPPU treatment had minor effects on flavonols content but increased the levels of monomeric flavan-3-ols by more than two-fold.Phloroglucinol analysis using HPLC showed that proanthocyanidin content was significantly increased by CPPU,whereas mean degree of polymerization was reduced from 26 to 19.Volatile analysis by GC-MS showed changes in composition with CPPU or GA treatment with potential impact on flavor.RNA-seq analysis showed that GA had a minor overall effect on the transcriptome whereas CPPU had pronounced effects on gene expression at both 51 and 70 d.Comparing the control and CPPU at similar Brix of ca.19.7°,a reduced expression of stilbene synthases(STSs)including their regulators MYB14 and MYB15,and other phenylpropanoid-related genes was observed in CPPU-treated grapes.Overall,our study shows that CPPU had a major influence on the phenylpropanoid pathway and affected multiple ripening-related processes. | Kamal Tyagi Itay Maoz Bettina Kochanek Noa Sela Larry Lerno Susan EEbeler Amnon Lichter | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021，8，1： | 1 |
