2Applying CBR to Machine Tool Product Configuration Design Oriented to Customer Requirements显示文摘Product customization is a trend in the current market-oriented manufacturing environment. However, deduction from customer requirements to design results and evaluation of design alternatives are still heavily reliant on the designer's experience and knowledge. To solve the problem of fuzziness and uncertainty of customer requirements in product configuration, an analysis method based on the grey rough model is presented. The customer requirements can be converted into technical characteristics effectively. In addition, an optimization decision model for product planning is established to help the enterprises select the key technical characteristics under the constraints of cost and time to serve the customer to maximal satisfaction. A new case retrieval approach that combines the self-organizing map and fuzzy similarity priority ratio method is proposed in case-based design. The self-organizing map can reduce the retrieval range and increase the retrieval efficiency, and the fuzzy similarity priority ratio method can evaluate the similarity of cases comprehensively. To ensure that the final case has the best overall performance, an evaluation method of similar cases based on grey correlation analysis is proposed to evaluate similar cases to select the most suitable case. Furthermore, a computer-aided system is developed using MATLAB GUI to assist the product configuration design. The actual example and result on an ETC series machine tool product show that the proposed method is effective, rapid and accurate in the process of product configuration. 5Longitudinal distribution of O_2 nightglow brightness observed by TIEMD/SABER satellite显示文摘The global distribution of 1.27 ?m O2 nightglow brightness observed by the TIMED/SABER satellite has been investigated to find the longitudinal structures for different seasons and latitudes. The results show that the O2 airglow is dominated by wave 4 structure at latitudes between equator and 20oS/N in both hemispheres during most seasons. At mid-latitudes around 40oS/N, the wave 1 structure is observed for most seasons with a small contribution of wave 2 during the June solstice. 9Gold Nanostars-AIE Theranostic Nanodots with Enhanced Fluorescence and Photosensitization Towards Effective Image-Guided Photodynamic Therapy显示文摘Dual-functional aggregation-induced photosensitizers(AIE-PSs)with singlet oxygen generation(SOG)ability and bright fluorescence in aggregated state have received much attention in image-guided photodynamic therapy(PDT).However,designing an AIE-PS with both high SOG and intense fluorescence via molecular design is still challenging.In this work,we report a new nanohybrid consisting of gold nanostar(AuNS)and AIE-PS dots with enhanced fluorescence and photosensitization for theranostic applications.The spectral overlap between the extinction of AuNS and fluorescence emission of AIE-PS dots(665 nm)is carefully selected using five different AuNSs with distinct localized surface plasmon(LSPR)peaks.Results show that all the AuNS s can enhance the 1 O2 production of AIE-PS dots,among which the AuNS with LSPR peak at 585 nm exhibited the highest 1 O2 enhancement factor of15-fold with increased fluorescence brightness.To the best of our knowledge,this is the highest enhancement factor reported for the metalenhanced singlet oxygen generation systems.The Au585@AIE-PS nanodots were applied for simultaneous fluorescence imaging and photodynamic ablation of HeLa cancer cells with strongly enhanced PDT efficiency in vitro.This study provides a better understanding of the metal-enhanced AIE-PS nanohybrid systems,opening up new avenue towards advanced image-guided PDT with greatly improved efficacy.Mohammad Tavakkoli Yaraki Min Wu Eshu Middha Wenbo Wu Soroosh Daqiqeh Rezaei Bin Liu Yen Nee Tan 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,4:3
10Anti-hypercholesterolemic effect of kenaf(Hibiscus cannabinus L.)seed on high-fat diet Sprague dawley rats显示文摘Objective:To determine? the anlihypercholesterolemic effects of kenaf seed samples and compare with the commercial hypocholesterolemic drug on serum lipids profiles and malondialdehyde(MDA) level in the rat.Methods:Kenaf seed oil(KSO),microencapsulated kenaf seed oil(MKSO),kenaf seed extract(KSE) and defatted kenaf seed meal(DKSM) were prepared and phytocHemicals screening on these samples were done prior in viro study.Phenolic compounds in KSF.were quantified using high performance liquid chromatography.There were 40(divided in eight diet groups of 5) male Sprague dawley rats adapted lo normal standard diet or hypercholesterolemic diet(HD) with or without the treatment of these kenaf samples for 32 days.Results:All the kenaf samples exhibited to contain most of the major phytocliemicals.KSE possessed gallic acid,tannic acid,catechin.benzaldehyde.benzoic acid,syringic acid,sinapic acid,ferulic acid,naringin acid,and protocatechuic acid.The significant higher(P<0.05) serum total cholesterol,low density lipoprotein cholesterol and MDA levels in HD group without treatment than the normal control group suggested the hypercholesterolemia was induced by the Incorporation of cholesterol into diet.KSE exhibited higher cholesterol-lowering properties due to the significant lower(P<0.05)in serum triglycerides,total cholesterol and MDA levels.KSF showed the highest efficiency of cholesterol-lowering activity,followed by KSO.MKSO and DKSM.Conclusions:DKSM.MKSO.KSO and KSE appeared lo have comparable anti-hypercholesterolemic effect with the commercial hypocholesterolemic drug.Hence,kenaf seed could be used as an alternative natural source lo replace the synthetic hypocholosterolemic drugs.Ng Shy Kai Tee Ai Nee Elaine Lai Chia Ling Tan Chin Ping Long Kamariah Nyam Kar Lin 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,1:2

15Interoperability of Design Intent in Integrated Product and Process Design显示文摘Concurrent engineering is currently an overwhelming t rend in product development since it takes the down-stream product development issues and product life-cycle issues into consideration in up-front design pro cess. At this stage, evaluation, verification and validation of design concepts and design schemes is critical to the right-to-market product development. I dentification and extraction of design intent from the part digital mock-ups in different data formats and created in different CAD systems for DFX considerati on, evaluation, verification, and validation is crucial too. Traditionally, fro m manufacturing point of view, feature identification and extraction is to get t he features and feature-related information for manufacturing planning and inte gration. Presently, from the viewpoint of product development and product servi ce life cycle, design intent identification and extraction is to get all the des ign-related information for DFX consideration in early design stage, such as de sign for assembly, design for service, design for tooling, design for functional ity and design for environment etc. Therefore, how to successfully extract desi gn intent such as design and machining features and design-related information from the prototyping digital mock-ups created by different CAD systems for DFX consideration in upstream design stage is a very useful topic in integrated prod uct and process design and development. Presently, there are heterogeneous CAD systems in the market and the interoperat ion among the different CAD systems is indispensable. The interoperability of d ifferent CAD systems is by way of data exchanged technology such as STEP and IGE S. The critical weakness of this interoperation technology is that much of the design intent is lost in the interoperation process. Once the product digital m ock-ups is exchanged via data exchange technology such as IGES or STEP, the des ign intent including the dimension-driven design features and other attributes embedded in the part model are lost in the data translation process. Models rea d out of CAD systems come into other systems as featureless chunks of geometry e ntities. Obviously, the interoperation technology does not satisfy the industry need. It has been reported that this poor interoperation technology, which pro vides poor CAD models in neutral-format geometry had cost the automobile indust ry alone $1 billon per year. Fortunately, some researchers have been aware of t he criticality of this since only the United States industry spends billons of d ollars as a result of poor interoperability between computer-aided engineering software tools. In the past, product development was often done within a single company by co-located design team. In more recent years, there has been a busi ness paradigm shift in product development as the product development is being d one more often by geographically and temporally distributed design teams. There is a high level of outsourcing, not only of manufacturing but also of actual pr oduct development effort. Besides, product development across companies, and ev en within a single company, is often done within a heterogeneous software tool e nvironment. How to improve the interoperability of design intent created in het erogeneous software tool environment geographically has become a critical issue in next-generation product development system. Design intent in this research is defined as the outcome of design process. Des ign process goes from the identification of needs to satisfaction of that needs. Design intent satisfies this kind of needs. In this research, design intent i s created in a CAD system and embedded in part CAD model. The detailed design i ntent here includes design and manufacturing features and the feature-relat ed information such as feature parameters, feature relationships and some relate d characteristics such as associativity. 16Emerging Strategies in Enhancing Singlet Oxygen Generation of Nano-Photosensitizers Toward Advanced Phototherapy显示文摘The great promise of photodynamic therapy(PDT) has thrusted the rapid progress of developing highly effective photosensitizers(PS) in killing cancerous cells and bacteria. To mitigate the intrinsic limitations of the classical molecular photosensitizers, researchers have been looking into designing new generation of nanomaterial-based photosensitizers(nano-photosensitizers) with better photostability and higher singlet oxygen generation(SOG) efficiency, and ways of enhancing the performance of existing photosensitizers. In this paper, we review the recent development of nano-photosensitizers and nanoplasmonic strategies to enhance the SOG efficiency for better PDT performance. Firstly, we explain the mechanism of reactive oxygen species generation by classical photosensitizers, followed by a brief discussion on the commercially available photosensitizers and their limitations in PDT. We then introduce three types of new generation nanophotosensitizers that can effectively produce singlet oxygen molecules under visible light illumination, i.e., aggregation-induced emission nanodots, metal nanoclusters (< 2 nm), and carbon dots. Different design approaches to synthesize these nano-photosensitizers were also discussed. To further enhance the SOG rate of nano-photosensitizers, plasmonic strategies on using different types of metal nanoparticles in both colloidal and planar metal-PS systems are reviewed. The key parameters that determine the metal-enhanced SOG(ME-SOG) efficiency and their underlined enhancement mechanism are discussed. Lastly, we highlight the future prospects of these nanoengineering strategies, and discuss how the future development in nanobiotechnology and theoretical simulation could accelerate the design of new photosensitizers and ME-SOG systems for highly effective image-guided photodynamic therapy.Mohammad Tavakkoli Yaraki Bin Liu Yen Nee Tan 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,7:2
