1盾构隧道开挖对邻近桩基影响数值分析显示文摘经与离心试验结果对比分析,验证了应用数值模拟研究盾构隧道开挖对邻近桩基影响是可靠的。通过采用Mohr-Coulomb弹塑性屈服准则,建立三维有限元数值模型,研究软土地区盾构隧道开挖对邻近桩基的影响规律。数值模拟结果表明,开挖导致群桩中前排桩变形及内力均大于后排桩,且同排桩水平位移、弯矩和轴力沿桩身分布几乎重合;与同位置单桩相比,群桩中各桩水平位移稍大,而沉降则更小;前排桩最大弯矩与同位置单桩相差不大,而后排桩最大弯矩稍大于同位置单桩,前、后排桩最大轴力均大于同位置单桩。朱逢斌 杨平 ONG C W 2008岩土工程学报2008,30,2:117
2g-C_3N_4界面改性:掺杂金属硫化物构建新型异质结光催化剂的能源转换展望(英文)显示文摘光催化技术不仅可以将太阳能转化为化学能,还可以直接降解和矿化有机污染物的特性,因而成为最具吸引力和前景的技术之一,被广泛应用于解决环境和能源问题.但是目前,太阳能燃料的最高转化效率为5%,无法满足商业化要求(≥10%).各种光催化材料被探索研究以进一步提高光催化效率.但目前广泛使用的材料都有不同的缺点.比如最常用的金属氧化物(TiO2)由于禁带较宽,仅能利用太阳光中的紫外光,限制了其对光的使用效率;贵金属化合物虽性能优异但成本较高,不宜规模化应用;硫化物或非金属单质一般容易发生光腐蚀,稳定性较差;非金属化合物或聚合物中光生电子和空穴复合率高,活性较低.最近几年,类石墨相氮化碳(g-C_3N_4)以其优异的热稳定性以及化学稳定性,能带结构易调控和前驱体价格低廉等特点而成为目前研究的热点,在光解水制氢产氧、污染物降解、光催化CO_2还原、抗菌和有机官能团选择性转换等领域受到广泛的应用.然而,传统热缩聚法合成的g-C_3N_4光催化剂比表面积小、电荷复合率高、禁带宽度稍微大、光生载流子传输慢,抑制了其光催化活性.为了进一步提高g-C_3N_4的光催化活性,出现了多种改性方法.纳米异质结由于能展现出单组分纳米材料或体相异质结所不具备的独特性质,更能促进光生电子和空穴快速转移,提供更多的光生电子或使光生电子具有更强的还原性而成为研究的热点.从2009年以来,基于g-C_3N_4的异质结结构以其优异的光催化性能吸引了世界各国科学家的关注.本文综述了过渡金属硫化物(TMS)/g-C_3N_4纳米复合材料的最近研究进展,包括:(1)纯g-C_3N_4的制备,(2)g-C_3N_4的改性方法,(3)TMS/g-C_3N_4异质结光催化剂的设计原则,以及(4)能量转换方面的应用.并从以下几个方面对金属硫化物异质结体系的特性和转移机理进行了介绍:(1) I-型异质结,(2)Ⅱ-型异质结,(3) p-n型异质结,(4)肖特基异质结和(5) Z-型异质结.此外,还系统地介绍了g-C_3N_4基异质结光催化剂在光解水、CO_2还原、固氮和污染物降解等方面的应用.最后,本文分析了目前g-C_3N_4光催化剂异质结领域面临的问题和挑战,展望了未来的发展趋势.任亦杰 曾德乾 Wee-Jun Ong 2019Chinese Journal of Catalysis2019,40,3:27

5Complications of endoscopic retrograde cholangiography in the post-MRCP era: A tertiary center experience显示文摘AIM: To evaluate our experience in endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) in terms of fulfilling the ASGE guidelines in indications, positive findings,and complications in the post-magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) era.METHODS: Between November 2001 and February 2003, consecutive ERCP cases were prospectively evaluated with regard to the indications, findings, cannulation techniques,devices used during the procedure, sedation given,duration of procedure, and complications. These data were entered in a database for subsequent processing and analysis.RESULTS: Of 336 cases, 21.4% were diagnostic and 78.6% therapeutic ERCP. The indications for ERCP fulfilled the ASGE guidelines in 323 cases (96.1%). Suspected bile duct stone was the most frequent indication (26.8%), and this was followed by cholangitis (24.4%), dilated common bile duct (14.9%), and cholestatic jaundice (13.4%).Cannulation success rate was 94%. Biliary sphincterotomy was performed in 175 (52.1%) patients. Repeated ERCP was performed on 31.5% of the patients. Overall, the complication rate was 9.8% with 0.3% being procedurerelated mortality. The complications were pancreatitis (5.4%), bleeding (0.8%), cholangitis (2.4%) and others (1.5%). 6Contrast-enhanced 3D ultrasound in the radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors显示文摘Liver metastases and hepatocellular carcinomas are two of the most common causes of cancer deaths in the world.Radiofrequency ablation(RFA) is a well recognized,effective and minimally invasive means of treating malignant hepatic tumors.This article describes the use of contrast-enhanced 3D ultrasound(CE-3DUS) in the staging,targeting and follow-up of patients with liver tumors undergoing RFA.In particular,its value in the management of large hepatic lesions will be illustrated.Current limitations of CE-3DUS and future developments in the technique will also be discussed.In summary,CE-3DUS is useful in the RFA of liver tumors with improved detection and display of occult lesions and recurrence,in the assessment of lesional geometry and orientation for a more accurate planning and guidance of multiple RFA needle electrodes in large tumors and in the evaluation of residual or recurrent disease within the immediate and/or subsequent follow-up periods.Edward Leen Senthil Kumar Shahid A Khan Gavin Low Keh Oon Ong Paul Tait Mike Averkiou 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,3:19
7广义负二项分布对钉螺分布的拟合显示文摘目的介绍并应用广义负二项分布研究湖北钉螺的分布规律,为定量化研究提供理论依据。方法随机抽取安徽省池州市贵池区秋浦河沿岸的4块滩地作为研究现场,2005年调查4块滩地的钉螺数据,2006年从中再随机抽取2块滩地进行调查。通过全局最大似然法分别拟合广义负二项分布和负二项分布,比较同一季节不同滩地和不同季节同一滩地的分布拟合结果。结果不同季节、不同滩地的钉螺密度是不同的,但其分布形状均是相似的正偏态分布,广义负二项分布能成功地拟合所有的钉螺数据。不同季节同一滩地间的广义负二项分布参数的变化不一致,同一季节不同滩地广义负二项分布的参数估计结果即使在钉螺密度相近的情况下也不相近,钉螺生存环境的微小差异可以通过广义负二项分布的参数灵敏反映。结论广义负二项分布比负二项分布能更好地反映钉螺分布的复杂性,其将在钉螺的定量化研究领域以及家庭聚集性疾病、寄生虫病和定量生态学的研究中具有重要意义。张志杰 彭文祥 Ong Senghuat 周艺彪 庄建林 姜庆五 陈更新 2008中国卫生统计2008,25,1:17
8马占相思的日光合作用和日碳固定总量研究(英文)显示文摘马占相思(Acacia mangium)是一种具有较高经济价值和生态效益的热带速生树种。为了研究其光合作用对一天内光强、温度等环境因子变化的响应,揭示其迅速生长的生理生态机制,在叶片水平上测量了马占相思在24h内的净光合速率(Pn)、蒸腾速率、气孔导度(Gs)、胞间CO2浓度(Gi)、每日固定碳的总量、夜间消耗碳的总量以及日问光合系统Ⅱ光化学效率(Fv/Fm)的变化。结果显示:其净光合速率在正午降低了14.5%;其较高的蒸腾速率和气孔导度有助于保持叶片日间较高的碳固定速率;光合系统Ⅱ对于高光强和高温有较强的忍受度;每日固定碳的总量为502 mmol CO2·m-2,夜间碳的损失为54 mmol CO2·m-2。研究结果在一定程度上揭示了马占相思在热带高光强和高温条件下迅速生长的生理机制。余华 Bee Lian ONG 2003植物生态学报2003,27,5:17

11Preliminary experience with drug-coated balloon angioplasty in primary percutaneous coronary intervention显示文摘We evaluated the clinical feasibility of using drugcoated balloon(DCB) angioplasty in patients undergoingprimary percutaneous coronary intervention(PPCI). Between January 2010 to September 2014,89 STelevation myocardial infarction patients(83% male,mean age 59 ± 14 years) with a total of 89 coronary lesions were treated with DCB during PPCI. Clinical outcomes are reported at 30 d follow-up. Left anterior descending artery was the most common target vessel for PCI(37%). Twenty-eight percent of the patients had underlying diabetes mellitus. Mean left ventricular ejection fraction was 44% ± 11%. DCB-only PCI was the predominant approach(96%) with the remaining 4% of patients receiving bail-out stenting. Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction(TIMI) 3 flow was successfully restored in 98% of patients. An average of 1.2 ± 0.5 DCB were used per patient,with mean DCB diameter of 2.6 ± 0.5 mm and average length of 23.2 ± 10.2 mm. At 30-d follow-up,there were 4 deaths(4.5%). No patients experienced abrupt closure of the infarctrelated artery and there was no reported target-lesion failure. 12尖锐心肌的梗塞: 在在新加坡的年轻成年人的临床的特征和结果显示文摘 AIM: To investigate the clinical features and in-hospital outcomes of young adults with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Singapore. METHODS: Between January 2005 to September 2010, 333 consecutive patients aged ≤ 45 years old were diagnosed to have AMI at our institution. As Singapore is a multi-ethnic society, we also analysed whether ethnic differences exist between the three dominant ethnic groups, Malay, Chinese and Indian with regards to the clinical features. Clinical data was collected retrospectively on demographic characteristics, presenting signs and symptoms, blood investigation, angiographic findings and in-hospital clinical outcomes. RESULTS: The mean age at presentation was 40.2 ± 4.0 years with male predominance (94%). The majority of patients were Chinese (51%) followed by Indians (31%) and Malays (18%). The most common risk factor was smoking (74%) followed by hypertension (28.5%) and hyperlipidemia (20.0%). 37% of patients were obese. The majority of patients had single vessel disease (46%) on coronary angiography. The mean total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein and highdensity lipoprotein levels were 5.6±1.2 mmol/L, 3.8±1.1 mmol/L and 0.93±0.25 mmol/L respectively. The mean left ventricular function was 44%±10% with the incidence of heart failure 3% and cardiogenic shock 4.5%. Overall in-hospital mortality was low with 4 deaths (1.2%). For ethnic subgroup analysis, Indians have a 3-fold risk of developing premature AMI when compared to other ethnic groups. CONCLUSION: Young AMI patients in Singapore are characterized by male predominance, high incidence of smoking and obesity. Overall in-hospital clinical outcomes are favourable. 13Hydrogen sutfide protects colon cancer cells from chemopreventative agent β-phenylethyl isothiocvanate induced apoptosis显示文摘AIM: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a prominent gaseous constituent of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract with known cytotoxic properties. Endogenous concentrations of H2S are reported to range between 0.2-3.4 mmol/L in the GI tract of mice and humans. Considering such high levels we speculate that, at non-toxic concentrations, H2S may interact with chemical agents and alter the response of colonic epithelium cells to such compounds. The GI tract is a major site for the absorption of phytochemical constituents such as isothiocyanates, flavonoids, and carotenoids, with each group having a role in the prevention of human diseases such as colon cancer. The chemopreventative properties of the phytochemical agent β-phenyethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC) are well recognized. However, little is currently known about the physiological or biochemical factors present in the GI tract that may influence the biological properties of ITCs. The current study was undertaken to determine the effects of H2S on PEITC mediated apoptosis in colon cancer cells.METHODS: Induction of apoptosis by PEITC in human colon cancer HCT116 cells was assessed using classic apoptotic markers namely SubG1 population analysis,caspase-3 like activity and nuclear fragmentation and condensation coupled with the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrasodium bromide) viability assay and LDH leakage.RESULTS: PEITC significantly induced apoptosis in HGT116cells as assessed by SubG1 population formation, nuclear condensation, LDH leakage and caspase-3 activity after 24 h, these data being significant from control groups (P<0.01). In contrast, co-treatment of cells with physiological concentrations of H2S (0.1-1 mmol/L) prevented PEITC mediated apoptosis as assessed using the parameters described.CONCLUSION: PEITC effectively induced cell death in the human adenocarcinoma cell line HCT116 in vitro through classic apoptotic mechanisms. However, in the presence of H2S, apoptosis was abolished. 15Optimal management for alcoholic liver disease: Conventional medications, natural therapy or combination?显示文摘Alcohol consumption is the principal factor in thepathogenesis of chronic liver diseases.Alcoholic liver disease(ALD)is defined by histological lesions on the liver that can range from simple hepatic steatosis to more advanced stages such as alcoholic steatohepatitis,cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinoma and liver failure.As one of the oldest forms of liver injury known to humans,ALD is still a leading cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality and the burden is exerting on medical systems with hospitalization and management costs rising constantly worldwide.Although the biological mechanisms,including increasing of acetaldehyde,oxidative stress with induction of cytochrome p4502E1,inflammatory cytokine release,abnormal lipid metabolism and induction of hepatocyte apoptosis,by which chronic alcohol consumption triggers serious complex progression of ALD is well established,there is no universally accepted therapy to prevent or reverse.In this article,we have briefly reviewed the pathogenesis of ALD and the molecular targets for development of novel therapies.This review is focused on current therapeutic strategies for ALD,including lifestyle modification with nutrition supplements,available pharmacological drugs and new agents that are under development,liver transplantation,application of complementary medicines,and their combination.The relevant molecular mechanisms of each conventional medication and natural agent have been reviewed according to current available knowledge in the literature.We also summarized efficacy vs safety on conventional and herbal medicines which are specifically used for the prevention and treatment of ALD.Through a system review,this article highlighted that the combination of pharmaceutical drugs with naturally occurring agents may offer an optimal management for ALD and its complications.It is worthwhile to conduct large-scale,multiple centre clinical trials to further prove the safety and benefits for the integrative therapy on ALD.Moon-Sun Kim Madeleine Ong Xianqin Qu 2016World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,1:13
16Poor performance of the modified early warning score for predicting mortality in critically ill patients presenting to an emergency department显示文摘BACKGROUND:This study was undertaken to validate the use of the modified early warning score(MEWS) as a predictor of patient mortality and intensive care unit(ICU)/ high dependency(HD)admission in an Asian population.METHODS:The MEWS was applied to a retrospective cohort of 1 024 critically ill patients presenting to a large Asian tertiary emergency department(ED) between November 2006 and December2007.Individual MEWS was calculated based on vital signs parameters on arrival at ED.Outcomes of mortality and ICU/HD admission were obtained from hospital records.The ability of the composite MEWS and its individual components to predict mortality within 30 days from ED visit was assessed.Sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values were derived and compared with values from other cohorts.A MEWS of ≥4 was chosen as the cut-off value for poor prognosis based on previous studies.RESULTS:A total of 311(30.4%) critically ill patients were presented with a MEWS ≥4.Their mean age was 61.4 years(SD 18.1) with a male to female ratio of 1.10.Of the 311 patients,53(17%)died within 30 days,64(20.6%) were admitted to ICU and 86(27.7%) were admitted to HD.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.71 with a sensitivity of 53.0%and a specificity of 72.1%in addition to a positive predictive value(PPV) of 17.0%and a negative predictive value(NPV)of 93.4%(MEWS cut-off of ≥4) for predicting mortality.CONCLUSION:The composite MEWS did not perform well in predicting poor patient outcomes for critically ill patients presenting to an ED.Le Onn Ho Huihua Li Nur Shahidah Zhi Xiong Koh Papia Sultana Marcus Eng Hock Ong 2013World Journal of Emergency Medicine2013,4,4:12
17Green tea polyphenols ameliorate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease through upregulating AMPK activation in high fat fed Zucker fatty rats显示文摘AIM To investigate protective effects and molecular mechanisms of green tea polyphenols(GTP) on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in Zucker fatty(ZF) rats.METHODS Male ZF rats were fed a high-fat diet(HFD) for 2 wk then treated with GTP(200 mg/kg) or saline(5 m L/kg) for 8 wk, with Zucker lean rat as their control. At the end of experiment, serum and liver tissue were collected for measurement of metabolic parameters, alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST), inflammatory cytokines and hepatic triglyceride and liver histology. Immunoblotting was used to detect phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK) acetyl-Co A carboxylase(ACC), and sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1c(SREBP1c). RESULTS Genetically obese ZF rats on a HFD presented with metabolic features of hepatic pathological changes comparable to human with NAFLD. GTP intervention decreased weight gain(10.1%, P = 0.052) and significantly lowered visceral fat(31.0%, P < 0.01). Compared with ZF-controls, GTP treatment significantly reduced fasting serum insulin, glucose and lipids levels. Reduction in serum ALT and AST levels(both P < 0.01) were observed in GTP-treated ZF rats. GTP treatment also attenuated the elevated TNFα and IL-6 in the circulation. The increased hepatic TG accumulation and cytoplasmic lipid droplet were attenuated by GTP treatment, associated with significantly increased expression of AMPK-Thr172(P < 0.05) and phosphorylated ACC and SREBP1c(both P < 0.05), indicating diminished hepatic lipogenesis and triglycerides out flux from liver in GTP treated rats. 19An electrostatic spectral neighbor analysis potential for lithium nitride显示文摘Machine-learned interatomic potentials based on local environment descriptors represent a transformative leap over traditional potentials based on rigid functional forms in terms of prediction accuracy.However,a challenge in their application to ionic systems is the treatment of long-ranged electrostatics.Here,we present a highly accurate electrostatic Spectral Neighbor Analysis Potential(eSNAP)for ionicα-Li3N,a prototypical lithium superionic conductor of interest as a solid electrolyte or coating for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.We show that the optimized eSNAP model substantially outperforms traditional Coulomb–Buckingham potential in the prediction of energies and forces,as well as various properties,such as lattice constants,elastic constants,and phonon dispersion curves.We also demonstrate the application of eSNAP in long-time,large-scale Li diffusion studies in Li3N,providing atomistic insights into measures of concerted ionic motion(e.g.,the Haven ratio)and grain boundary diffusion.This work aims at providing an approach to developing quantum-accurate force fields for multi-component ionic systems under the SNAP formalism,enabling large-scale atomistic simulations for such systems.Zhi Deng Chi Chen Xiang-Guo Li Shyue Ping Ong 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:11
20Effects of miR-219/miR-338 on microglia and astrocyte behaviors and astrocyte-oligodendrocyte precursor cell interactions显示文摘MiR-219 and miR-338(miR-219/miR-338)are oligodendrocyte-specific microRNAs.The overexpression of these miRs in oligodendrocyte precursor cells promotes their differentiation and maturation into oligodendrocytes,which may enhance axonal remyelination after nerve injuries in the central nervous system(CNS).As such,the delivery of miR-219/miR-338 to the CNS to promote oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation,maturation and myelination could be a promising approach for nerve repair.However,nerve injuries in the CNS also involve other cell types,such as microglia and astrocytes.Herein,we investigated the effects of miR-219/miR-338 treatment on microglia and astrocytes in vitro and in vivo.We found that miR-219/miR-338 diminished microglial expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and suppressed astrocyte activation.In addition,we showed that miR-219/miR-338 enhanced oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation and maturation in a scratch assay paradigm that re-created a nerve injury condition in vitro.Collectively,our results suggest miR-219/miR-338 as a promising treatment for axonal remyelination in the CNS following nerve injuries.All experimental procedures were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(IACUC),Nanyang Technological University(approval No.A0309 and A0333)on April 27,2016 and October 8,2016.Lan Huong Nguyen William Ong Kai Wang Mingfeng Wang Dean Nizetic Sing Yian Chew 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,4:11
