1Photothermal ablation therapy for cancer based on metal nanostructures显示文摘Besides conventional surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, which all tend to have side-effects and damage normal tissues, new medical strategies, such as photothermal sensitization and photo-thermal ablation therapy (PTA) with near-IR laser light, have been explored for treating cancer. Much of the current excitement surrounding nanoscience is directly connected to the promise of new nanotechnology for cancer diagnosis and therapy. The basic principle behind PTA is that heat generated from light can be used to destroy cancer cells. Strong optical absorption and high efficiency of photothermal conversion at the cancer sites are critical to the success of PTA. Because of their unique optical properties, e.g., strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption, noble metal nanomaterials, such as gold and silver, have been found to significantly enhance photothermal conversion for PTA applications. Substantial effort has been made to develop metal nanostructures with optimal structural and photothermal properties. Ideal metal nanostructures should have strong and tunable SPR, be easy to deliver, have low toxicity, and be convenient for bioconjugation for actively targeting specific cancer cells. This review would highlight some gold nanostructures with various shapes and properties, including nanoparticles (NPs), nanorods (NRs), nanoshells, nanocages, and hollow nanospheres, which have been studied for PTA applications. 7Habitat preferences of diurnal raptors in relation to human access to their breeding territories in the Balkan Mountain Range,Bulgaria显示文摘Background:In this study we examined the habitat preferences of three diurnal raptors in relation to human access.We aimed to identify the selection of breeding habitat by the Golden Eagle(Aquila chrysaetos),the Long-legged Buz-zard(Buteo rufinus),and the Peregrine Falcon(Falco peregrinus)in response to site accessibility by humans,and in turn,the response of these species to human presence.Methods:Data about the nest locations were collected.Analyses and maps were created using ArcGIS.The“least cost path”was defined using the Cost Path tool.Results:The lowest values of the Cost Path were established for Long-legged Buzzard and the highest values were estimated for Golden Eagle.Intermediate Cost Path values for Peregrine Falcon were found.Conclusions:The Long-legged Buzzard could be considered as the most tolerant to human presence in its breeding territories.The Golden Eagle have the lowest degree of tolerance and the Peregrine Falcon is ranked in an intermedi-ate position compared to the other two species,but closer to Golden Eagle.Nadejda Djorgova Dimitar Ragyov Valko Biserkov Jordan Biserkov Boris P.Nikolov 2021Avian Research2021,12,3:1

15基于金属纳米材料的癌症光热切除疗法显示文摘在癌症治疗中,传统的手术疗法、放射疗法和化学疗法会伤害到体内正常的组织以及带来一些其他的副作用,因此新的治疗手段,如在近红外激光中利用感光增强布光热切除疗法(PTA)已经开始被研究应用于癌症治疗.在当前新兴的纳米科学领域中,有许多相关的研究成果被认为可以作为新的纳米技术手段直接应用于癌症的检测和治疗中.光热切除疗法(PTA)的基本原理是在激光照射条件下,利用光热转换产生的高热量来破坏消除癌细胞,其中,在癌细胞位点上强的光照吸收以及高的光热转换效率是光热切除疗法(PTA)能否成功实施的关键.在贵金属纳米材料中,如金纳米颗粒和银纳米颗粒,由于他们对光具有很强的表面等离子共振吸收效应,因而他们可以在光热切除疗法(PTA)应用中有效地增强光热转换效率,而且关于金属纳米材料的结构优化以及其相关的光热转换性质的研究目前也已经有了显著的成果.在光热切除疗法中,理想的纳米金属材料应该具有下列一些特征:具有强的以及可调的表面等离子共振吸收、容易传输、毒性低以及容易与目标癌细胞结合.在这篇综合评述文章中,我们将主要讲述包括金纳米颗粒、纳米棒、纳米壳结构、纳米笼状结构以及纳米空心球结构等不同结构的金纳米材料在光热切除疗法(PTA)应用中的研究.在这些不同结构的纳米材料中,金纳米空心球由于具有较小的尺寸(30~50nm)和球状结构,以及很强的、并且半峰宽较窄的可调节的表面等离子共振效应,因此在光热切除疗法(PTA)中表现出最佳的综合性质.张金中 ROZANOVA Nadejda 2009中国科学(B辑)2009,39,10:1

19Systems biology applications to study mechanisms of human immunodeficiency virus latency and reactivation显示文摘Eradication of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) in infected individuals is currently not possible because of the presence of the persistent cellular reservoir of latent infection. The identification of HIV latency biomarkers and a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms contributing to regulation of HIV expression might provide essential tools to eliminate these latently infected cells. This review aims at summarizing gene expression profiling and systems biology applications to studies of HIV latency and eradication. Studies comparing gene expression in latently infected and uninfected cells identify candidate latency biomarkers and novel mechanisms of latency control. Studies that profiled gene expression changes induced by existing latency reversing agents(LRAs) highlight uniting themes driving HIV reactivation and novel mechanisms that contribute to regulation of HIV expression by different LRAs. Among the reviewed gene expression studies, the common approaches included identification of differentially expressed genes and gene functional category assessment. Integration of transcriptomic data with other biological data types is presently scarce, and the field would benefit from increased adoption of these methods in future studies. In addition, designing prospective studies that use the same methods of data acquisition and statistical analyses will facilitate a more reliableidentification of latency biomarkers using different model systems and the comparison of the effects of different LRAs on host factors with a role in HIV reactivation.
