1Three Tier Fog Networks: Enabling IoT/5G for Latency Sensitive Applications显示文摘Following the progression in Internet of Things(IoT) and 5G communication networks, the traditional cloud computing model have shifted to fog computing. Fog computing provides mobile computing, network control and storage to the network edges to assist latency critical and computation-intensive applications. Moreover, security features are improved in fog paradigm by processing critical data on edge devices instead of data centres outside the control plane of users. However, fog network deployment imposes many challenges including resource allocation, privacy of users, non-availability of programming model and testing software and support for the heterogenous networks. This article highlights these challenges and their potential solutions in detail. This article also discusses threetier fog network architecture, its standardization and benefits in detail. The proposed resource allocation mechanism for three tier fog networks based on swap matching is described. 2Particle size dependent sinterability and magnetic properties of recycled HDDR Nd-Fe-B powders consolidated with spark plasma sintering显示文摘The dependence of the magnetic properties on the particle size of recycled HDDR Nd-Fe-B powders was investigated,with the aim to assess the reprocessing potential of the end-of-life scrap magnets via spark plasma sintering(SPS).The as received recycled HDDR powder has coercivity(Hci)=830 kA/m and particles in the range from 30 to 700 μm(average 220 μm).After burr milling,the average particle size is reduced to 120 μm and subsequently the Hci of fine(milled) powder was 595 kA/m.Spark plasma sintering was exploited to consolidate the nanograined HDDR powders and limit the abnormal grain coarsening.The optimal SPS-ing of coarse HDDR powder at 750℃for 1 min produces fully dense magnets with Hci=950±100 kA/m which further increases to 1200 kA/m via thermal treatment at 750℃for 15 min.The burr milled fine HDDR powder under similar SPS conditions and after thermal treatment results in Hci=940 kA/m.The fine powder is further sieved down from 630 to less than 50 μm mesh size,to evaluate the possible reduction in Hci in relation to the particle size.The gain in oxygen content doubles for <50 μm sized particles as compared with coarser fractions(>200 μm).The XRD analysis for fractionated powder indicates an increase in Nd2O3 phase peaks in the finer(<100 μm)fractions.Similarly,the Hci reduces from 820 kA/m in the coarse particles(>200 μm) to 460 kA/m in the fine sized particles(<100μm).SPS was done on each HDDR powder fraction under the optimal conditions to measure the variation in Hci and density.The Hci of SPS-ed coarse fraction(>200 μm) is higher than 930 kA/m and it falls abruptly to just 70 kA/m for the fine sized particles(<100 μm).The thermal treatment further improves the Hci to>1000 kA/m only up to 100 μm sized fractions with>90% sintered density.The full densification(>99%) is observed only in the coarse fractions.The loss of coercivity and lack of sinterability in the fine sized particles(<100 μm) are attributed to a very high oxygen content.This implies that during recycling,if good magnetic properties are to be maintained or even increase the HDDR powder particles can be sized down only up to≥100 μm.Awais Ikram Farhan Mehmood Richard Stuart Sheridan Muhammad Awais Allan Walton Anas Eldosouky Saso Sturm Spomenka Kobe Kristina Zuzek Rozman 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,1:5
3全视网膜光凝术改善PDR患者的视觉相关生活质量及日常视觉功能(英文)显示文摘目的:评估全视网膜光凝术(PRP)对糖尿病视网膜病变(PDR)患者在视觉相关生活质量及日常视觉功能的影响。方法:研究纳入30例(男13例,女17例)接受全视网膜光凝术治疗糖尿病视网膜病变患者。国家眼科研究所发布的视觉功能量表(VFQ-25)用来评估全视网膜光凝术治疗前后视觉相关生活质量及日常视觉功能。患者在接受全视网膜光凝术治疗前和治疗后6mo分别填写VFQ-25量表,比较视觉相关生活质量及日常视觉功能差异。运用配对t检验对治疗前后VFQ-25评分对比。结果:全视网膜光凝术治疗前平均VFQ-25综合评分为74.79±15.7,术后平均综合评分为74.08±19.1。术前与术后的平均VFQ-25综合评分无统计学意义(P=0.875)。结论:全视网膜光凝术(PRP)对糖尿病视网膜病变(PDR)患者在视觉相关生活质量及日常视觉功能无不利影响。Muhammad Imran Saleem Channar Muhammad Farhan Saleem Hafsa Malik 2016国际眼科杂志2016,16,12:2
4Water extractable plant nutrients in soils amended with cow manure co-composted with maple tree residues显示文摘Studies on the availability of plant nutrients in soils treated with manure co-composted feed-stocks are very rare.The present investigation aimed at studying the nutrient release pattern from three soils amended with maple tree leaves co-composted with cow manure.Soils were mixed with the compost at the rate of 20 t/hm^(2) and incubated at room temperature.Prior to incubation,plants residue samples were analyzed for total elemental concentrations(NO_(3),NH_(4),P,K,Ca,Mg,Na,Zn,Mn,Fe,Cu,Ni and Cd).Water extractability of nutrients from soils was affected by the type of soil and ratio of composted manure applied.Extractable NH_(4),P,K,Ca and Mg concentrations varied in the descending order of sandy clay,sandy loam and silt loam except NO_(3).The concentrations of P,K,Ca and Mg in the amended soils increased with the ratio of manure co-composted with leaf litter while those of NO_(3),NH_(4) and trace elements decreased.The residual nutrients in soil varied directly with their contents in the compost amendments.Co-composting improved the availability of nutrients in soils and this should be an ideal approach to managing the enormous waste generated from the livestock sector for restoring soil fertility.Zobia Anwar Muhammad Irshad An Ping Farhan Hafeez Shao Yang 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,5:1
5Traffic Priority-Aware Medical Data Dissemination Scheme for IoT Based WBASN Healthcare Applications显示文摘Wireless Body Area Sensor Network(WBASN)is an automated system for remote health monitoring of patients.WBASN under umbrella of Internet of Things(IoT)is comprised of small Biomedical Sensor Nodes(BSNs)that can communicate with each other without human involvement.These BSNs can be placed on human body or inside the skin of the patients to regularly monitor their vital signs.The BSNs generate critical data as it is related to patient’s health.The data traffic can be classified as Sensitive Data(SD)and Non-sensitive Data(ND)packets based on the value of vital signs.These data packets have different priority to deliver.The ND packets may tolerate some delay or packet loss whereas,the SD packets required to be delivered on time with minimized packet loss otherwise it can be life threating to the patients.In this research,we propose a Traffic Priority-aware Medical Data Dissemination(TPMD2)scheme forWBASN to deliver the data packets according to their priority based on the sensitivity of the data.The assessment of the proposed scheme is carried out in various experiments.The simulation results of the TPMD2 scheme indicate a significant improvement in packets delivery,transmission delay and energy efficiency in comparison with the existing schemes.Muhammad Anwar Farhan Masud Rizwan Aslam Butt Sevia Mahdaliza Idrus Mohammad Nazir Ahmad Mohd Yazid Bajuri 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,6:1

11Data Fusion Architecture Empowered with Deep Learning for Breast Cancer Classification显示文摘Breast cancer(BC)is the most widespread tumor in females worldwide and is a severe public health issue.BC is the leading reason of death affecting females between the ages of 20 to 59 around the world.Early detection and therapy can help women receive effective treatment and,as a result,decrease the rate of breast cancer disease.The cancer tumor develops when cells grow improperly and attack the healthy tissue in the human body.Tumors are classified as benign or malignant,and the absence of cancer in the breast is considered normal.Deep learning,machine learning,and transfer learning models are applied to detect and identify cancerous tissue like BC.This research assists in the identification and classification of BC.We implemented the pre-trained model AlexNet and proposed model Breast cancer identification and classification(BCIC),which are machine learning-based models,by evaluating them in the form of comparative research.We used 3 datasets,A,B,and C.We fuzzed these datasets and got 2 datasets,A2C and B3C.Dataset A2C is the fusion of A,B,and C with 2 classes categorized as benign and malignant.Dataset B3C is the fusion of datasets A,B,and C with 3 classes classified as benign,malignant,and normal.We used customized AlexNet according to our datasets and BCIC in our proposed model.We achieved an accuracy of 86.5%on Dataset B3C and 76.8%on Dataset A2C by using AlexNet,and we achieved the optimum accuracy of 94.5%on Dataset B3C and 94.9%on Dataset A2C by using proposed model BCIC at 40 epochs with 0.00008 learning rate.We proposed fuzzed dataset model using transfer learning.We fuzzed three datasets to get more accurate results and the proposed model achieved the highest prediction accuracy using fuzzed dataset transfer learning technique.Sahar Arooj Muhammad Farhan Khan Tariq Shahzad Muhammad Adnan Khan Muhammad Umar Nasir Muhammad Zubair Atta-ur-Rahman Khmaies Ouahada 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,12:0
12Spatial distribution of trace elements associated with organic carbon along the Beiyun River basin,Beijing,China显示文摘Pollution resulting from terrestrial and aquatic trace elements has become a severe problem across the world.Organic carbon(OC)content has a high affinity for metallic contaminants and it acts as a significant sink for trace elements.The decomposition of OC content directly influences the bioavailability of trace elements.The decomposition of OC content and OC distribution vary spatially,these processes affect the release of trace elements and need further research.In the current study,sediment samples from the surface sediment along Beiyun River(Section 1 to Section 4 from upper to lower reaches),which is situated in the rapidly urbanized Beijing metropolis,were measured for OC,moisture,hardness,and trace elements.The OC contents were found to have a substantial difference among all four river sections along the urbanized river gradient.Whereas the higher OC contents were found in Sections 2(Urbanized uplands)and 3(farmland)compared to those in Sections 1(forest)and 4(farmland and part of constructed areas).On the other hand,the highest value of the correlation coefficient was found among the different values of trace elements and OC content in the riverine zone of the Beiyun River basin.OC contents play a vital role in the transformation and origin of trace elements in the surface sediment of the Beiyun River basin.The One-way Analysis of Variance(ANOVA)was applied to compare the means of OC and trace elements at different sections indicating no significant difference.However,source identification of trace elements indicated that a geogenic source was responsible for higher contents of As and(69.95%).Simultaneously,the natural OC,agricultural activities,and industrial waste contributed about(21.10%)towards the Cd and Zn,and about 10%for Cr and Cu.The current study concludes that the absolute principle component analysisemultiple linear regression(APCA-MLR)method can be successfully used to investigate the trace elements(Zn,Ni,Pb,Mn,Cd,Cu,and As)interactions through OC content resulting in determination of the various sources of contamination to cause negative environmental impacts on the ecosystem and human health.So,the current study provides a baseline for a quantitative evaluation of trace elements under different sediment of OC contents.Farhan Iftikhar Shiliang Liu Yongxiu Sun Yixuan Liu Muhammad Imran 2022International Journal of Sediment Research2022,37,3:0
13A Hybrid Duo-Deep Learning and Best Features Based Framework for Action Recognition显示文摘Human Action Recognition(HAR)is a current research topic in the field of computer vision that is based on an important application known as video surveillance.Researchers in computer vision have introduced various intelligent methods based on deep learning and machine learning,but they still face many challenges such as similarity in various actions and redundant features.We proposed a framework for accurate human action recognition(HAR)based on deep learning and an improved features optimization algorithm in this paper.From deep learning feature extraction to feature classification,the proposed framework includes several critical steps.Before training fine-tuned deep learning models–MobileNet-V2 and Darknet53–the original video frames are normalized.For feature extraction,pre-trained deep models are used,which are fused using the canonical correlation approach.Following that,an improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)-based algorithm is used to select the best features.Following that,the selected features were used to classify actions using various classifiers.The experimental process was performed on six publicly available datasets such as KTH,UT-Interaction,UCF Sports,Hollywood,IXMAS,and UCF YouTube,which attained an accuracy of 98.3%,98.9%,99.8%,99.6%,98.6%,and 100%,respectively.In comparison with existing techniques,it is observed that the proposed framework achieved improved accuracy.Muhammad Naeem Akbar Farhan Riaz Ahmed Bilal Awan Muhammad Attique Khan Usman Tariq Saad Rehman 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,11:0
14Proper Conformal Killing Vectors in Kantowski-Sachs Metric显示文摘This paper deals with the existence of proper conformal Killing vectors(CKVs) in Kantowski-Sachs metric.Subject to some integrability conditions, the general form of vector filed generating CKVs and the conformal factor is presented. The integrability conditions are solved generally as well as in some particular cases to show that the nonconformally flat Kantowski-Sachs metric admits two proper CKVs, while it admits a 15-dimensional Lie algebra of CKVs in the case when it becomes conformally flat. 16IoMT-Based Smart Monitoring Hierarchical Fuzzy Inference System for Diagnosis of COVID-19显示文摘The prediction of human diseases,particularly COVID-19,is an extremely challenging task not only for medical experts but also for the technologists supporting them in diagnosis and treatment.To deal with the prediction and diagnosis of COVID-19,we propose an Internet of Medical Things-based Smart Monitoring Hierarchical Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System(IoMTSM-HMFIS).The proposed system determines the various factors like fever,cough,complete blood count,respiratory rate,Ct-chest,Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein,family history,and antibody detection(lgG)that are directly involved in COVID-19.The expert system has two input variables in layer 1,and seven input variables in layer 2.In layer 1,the initial identification for COVID-19 is considered,whereas in layer 2,the different factors involved are studied.Finally,advanced lab tests are conducted to identify the actual current status of the disease.The major focus of this study is to build an IoMT-based smart monitoring system that can be used by anyone exposed to COVID-19;the system would evaluate the user’s health condition and inform them if they need consultation with a specialist for quarantining.MATLAB-2019a tool is used to conduct the simulation.The COVID-19 IoMTSM-HMFIS system has an overall accuracy of approximately 83%.Finally,to achieve improved performance,the analysis results of the system were shared with experts of the Lahore General Hospital,Lahore,Pakistan.Tahir Abbas Khan Sagheer Abbas Allah Ditta Muhammad Adnan Khan Hani Alquhayz Areej Fatima Muhammad Farhan Khan 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,12:0
17Autoimmune diabetes from pembrolizumab:A case report and review of literature显示文摘BACKGROUND Immunotherapy,specifically the use of checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab,has become an important tool in personalized cancer therapy.These inhibitors target proteins on T-cells that regulate the immune response against tumor cells.Pembrolizumab,which targets the programmed cell death 1 receptor on T-cells,has been approved for the treatment of metastatic melanoma and nonsmall cell lung cancer.However,it can also lead to immune-related side effects,including pneumonitis,colitis,thyroid abnormalities,and rare cases of type 1 diabetes.CASE SUMMARY The case presented involves an adult patient in 30s with breast cancer who developed hyperglycemia after receiving pembrolizumab treatment.The patient was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis and further investigations were performed to evaluate for new-onset type 1 diabetes.The patient had a history of hypothyroidism and a family history of breast cancer.Treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis was initiated,and the patient was discharged for close follow-up with an endocrinologist.CONCLUSION This literature review highlights the occurrence of diabetic ketoacidosis and newonset type 1 diabetes in patients receiving pembrolizumab treatment for different types of cancer.Overall,the article emphasizes the therapeutic benefits of immunotherapy in cancer treatment,particularly pembrolizumab,while also highlighting the potential side effect of immune-related diabetes that can occur in a small percentage of patients.Here we present a case where pembrolizumab lead to development of diabetes after a few cycles highlighting one of the rare yet a serious toxicity of the drug.Hardikkumar Bhanderi Farhan Khalid Zubair Hassan Bodla Tayyeb Muhammad Doantrang Du Trishala Meghal 2023World Journal of Clinical Oncology2023,14,11:0
18Geochemistry and in-situ U-Th/Pb Geochronology of the Jambil Meta-Carbonatites, Northern Pakistan: Implications on Petrogenesis and Tectonic Evolution显示文摘The putative Jambil meta-carbonatites of Swat,northern Pakistan,occur as discrete intrusions into the Proterozoic Manglaur Formation,which are difficult to be distinguished from nearby calc-silicate marble because both rock types experienced regional metamorphism during Himalayan orogenesis that resulted in similar mosaic textures and mineral assemblages.Carbonatites are often significant repositories of economic mineral resources and,therefore,are important to be distinguished from calc-silicate marble.We present new geochemical and geochronology data to distinguish between the two rock types and interpret the petrogenesis and tectonic evolution of the Jambil metacarbonatites.Whole rock chemical data from the Jambil meta-carbonatites show characteristically high rare earth element(REE),Sr contents and lack of negative Eu anomaly,consistent with average calcio-carbonatite values worldwide and an igneous origin.More than 0.5 wt.% SrO in the metacarbonatites and SrO> 0.15 wt.% in constituent rock forming calcite are discriminating signatures of the Jambil meta-carbonatites.Chemically,the Jambil meta-carbonatites are relatively depleted in Rb,Nb,Ta,Ti,Zr and Hf,relatively enriched in Ba,Th,Sr,and have a high LREE/HREE ratio when normalized to primitive mantle.Their carbon and oxygen isotope compositions vary from-3.5‰ to-4.3‰and from 9.7‰ to 12.3‰,respectively.These geochemical characteristics indicate generation of the carbonatites through small degree of partial melting from a carbonated eclogitic source.In-situ,U/Pb analysis of titanite indicates that the Jambil meta-carbonatites were emplacement at 438 ±3 Ma.When combined with regional geological observations,we interpret the emplacement of the Jambil metacarbonatites to have taken place during the Silurian back arc extension within greater Gondwana and mark a transition from a compressional tectonic regime,brought about by collision of microcontinental blocks along the northern margin of Gondwana,to post-orogenic extension in the waning stages of the pre-Himalayan Ordovician orogeny.Finally,in-situ ^(208)Pb/^(232)Th monazite dates(40.3-27.6Ma) extracted from the meta-carbonatites are consistent with the Cenozoic metamorphism of the area.Asad Khan Shah Faisal Kyle P.Larson Delores M.Robinson Huan Li Zaheen Ullah Mark Button Javed Nawab Muhammad Farhan Liaqat Ali Muhammad Ali 2023Journal of Earth Science2023,34,1:0
19没有为 tractional 的 endotamponade 的同等 plana vitrectomy 的结果对 proliferative 糖尿病患者 retinopathy 第二等的网膜的分开显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy(PPV) without the use of an ocular tamponade in patients having tractional retinal detachment(TRD) secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).METHODS:It was an interventional study conducted at the Department of Ophthalmology,B.V.Hospital,Bahawalpur,Pakistan,from July 2011 to July 2012.A total of 75 patients(84 eyes) having TRD secondary to PDR were treated by PPV without using an ocular tamponade.All patients included in the study had a tractional retinal detachement secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy but didn’t have or develop retinal breaks before or during the study period.The surgical procedure included a PPV combined with the removal of the tractional retinal membranes and the application of endolaser photocoagulation to the retina.The mean follow-up period was 12 months. RESULTS:Successful retinal reattachement was observed in 78 of the operated eyes(92.8%).In these patients,the retina remained attached till the end of the one year follow-up period.Improvement in best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) was seen in 63 eyes(75%).The visual acuity remained unchanged in 9 eyes(10.7%).Mean improvement in BCVA was 2.00 +1.24 at baseline to 1.24+1.22(P<0.05) at the end of the followup period.CONCLUSION:In the absence of the retinal breaks,a TRD secondary to PDR can be successfully treated by pars plana vitrectomy without the use of an ocular tamponade.Rao Muhammad Rashad Qamar Muhammad Imran Saleem Muhammad Farhan Saleem 2013International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2013,6,5:0
20Input series out putparallel based multi-modular boost half bridge DC-DC converter with a dynamic control scheme显示文摘Multi-modular system plays an important role in power system architecture because low voltage and low power converters can be connected in any combination parallel or series at input/output side in order to obtained any given power system specifications.Multi-modular boost half bridge DC-DC converter in the configuration of input series output parallel has been investigated in this paper.The boost half bridge DC-DC converters are connected in input series output parallel configuration in order to achieve equal input voltage sharing and output current sharing between the converters.This can be achieved with the help of dynamic control scheme which consists of two loops,a voltage loop and a current loop,for each module.Dynamic behavior of multi-modular converter configuration has been observe by varying the load condition.Moreover,the results obtained through multi-modular converter describe that the system has good dynamic and steady state response.Although two converter modules are focused in this paper but it can be modified to any number of modules.SOOMRO Amir Mahmood SYED Amjad Ali KHIZER Arbab Nighat 廖晓钟 MANZOOR Muhammad Farhan 2014Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2014,23,4:0
