2Advanced fabrication for electrospun three-dimensional nanofiber aerogels and scaffolds显示文摘Electrospinning is a versatile strategy for creating nanofiber materials with various structures,which has broad application for a myriad of areas ranging from tissue engineering,energy harvesting,filtration and has become one of the most important academic and technical activities in the field of material science in recent years.In addition to playing a significant role in the construction of two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials,electrospinning holds great promise as a robust method for producing three-dimensional(3D)aerogels and scaffolds.This article reviews and summarizes the recent advanced methods for fabricating electrospun three-dimensional nanofiber aerogels and scaffolds,including gas foaming,direct electrospinning of 3D nanofibrous scaffold,short nanofibers assembling into 3D aerogels/scaffolds,3D printing,electrospray,origami and cell sheet engineering,centrifugal electrospinning,and other methods.Besides,intriguing formation process,crosslinking pathway,properties,and applications of 3D aerogels and scaffolds are also introduced.Taken together,these aerogels and scaffolds with various excellent features present tremendous potential in various fields.Yujie Chen Muhammad Shafiq Mingyue Liu Yosry Morsi Xiumei Mo 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:12

8Multifunctional bioactive core-shell electrospun membrane capable to terminate inflammatory cycle and promote angiogenesis in diabetic wound显示文摘Diabetic wound(DW)healing is a major clinical challenge due to multifactorial complications leading to prolonged inflammation.Electrospun nanofibrous(NF)membranes,due to special structural features,are promising biomaterials capable to promote DW healing through the delivery of active agents in a controlled manner.Herein,we report a multifunctional composite NF membrane loaded with ZnO nanoparticles(NP)and oregano essential oil(OEO),employing a new loading strategy,capable to sustainedly co-deliver bioactive agents.Physicochemical characterization revealed the successful fabrication of loaded nanofibers with strong in vitro anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant activities.Furthermore,in vivo wound healing confirmed the potential of bioactive NF membranes in epithelialization and granulation tissue formation.The angiogenesis was greatly prompted by the bioactive NF membranes through expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Moreover,the proposed NF membrane successfully terminated the inflammatory cycle by downregulating the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin��6(IL-6)and matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9).In vitro and in vivo studies revealed the proposed NF membrane is a promising dressing material for the healing of DW.Atta ur Rehman Khan Kai Huang Mina Shahriari Khalaji Fan Yu Xianrui Xie Tonghe Zhu Yosry Morsi Zhao Jinzhong Xiumei Mo 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:3

10Enhancement in antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of tramadol by transdermal proniosome gel显示文摘Oral therapy of tramadol,an opiate analgesic,undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism and requires frequent administration.Transdermal therapy by virtue can overcome these issues and can improve the efficacy and reduce abuse liability of tramadol.The aim of this research was to investigate the possibility of transdermal delivery of tramadol by formulating proniosome gel and evaluate its therapeutic potential in vivo.The effect of formulation composition as well as amount of drug on physicochemical characteristics of prepared proniosomes were examined.Best proniosome gel(F4)was selected and evaluated for drug release,stability and transdermal efficacy by ex vivo and in vivo experiments.The vesicles demonstrated optimal properties including spherical shape,nanosize with good entrapment efficiency,adequate zeta potential,higher stability and greater transdermal flux.The amorphization and dispersion of tramadol in the aqueous core of proniosome vesicles was confirmed by differential scanning calorimeter.Release profile of F4 was distinct(P<0.001)from control and displayed steady and prolonged tramadol release by Fickian diffusion.Transdermal therapy of F4 showed prominent reduction of induced twitches(P<0.005)in mice and edema(P<0.05)in rats,as compared to oral tramadol.The improvement in clinical efficacy of tramadol in transdermal therapy is correlated with the pharmacokinetic data observed.In conclusion,the observed improvement in antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects from proniosome carriers signifies its potential to be a suitable alternative to oral therapy of tramadol with greater efficacy.Jigar Shah Anroop B.Nair Hiral Shah Shery Jacob Tamer M.Shehata Mohamed Aly Morsy 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,6:3
11Preparation and Characterization of Chitosan Nanofibers Containing Silver Nanoparticles显示文摘Chitosan(CS)nanofibers containing silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)were prepared by in-situ reducing method.A water soluble carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCT)was applied for the preparation of AgNPs.The impact factor such as the concentration of CMCT,silver nitrate(AgNO_3)content,temperature and the heating time during the preparation of AgNPs were studied.The result showed that the proper value of the concentration of CMCT,AgNO_3content,temperature and the heating time were set as0.1%,20μL AgNO_3(1.7 mol/L),90°and 3 h,separately and the maximum concentration of AgNPs could be acquired.To solve the spinnability of chitosan nanofiber,a super high molecular weight polyethylene oxide(PEO)was introduced to the system,and a new mixed solvent system was prepared by adding acetic acid,dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)and several drops of Triton X-100TMto distilled water.CS/PEO(80/20)with the concentration of 3%was dissolved in the mixed solvent to prepare electrospinning solution for CS/PEO(80/20)nanofiber fabrication.The CS containing AgNPs electrospun solution could be prepared by replacing the distilled water to silver nanoparticle solution during the preparation of mixed solvent.Ultraviolet visible(UV-Vis)spectra and transmission electron microscope(TEM)results showed that silver nanoparticles were prepared successfully.CS membranes with and without AgNPs were acquired via a traditional electrospinning equipment.These two nanofiber membranes were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM)images and mechanical testing.It could be noticed from the SEM images that there was a good morphology and random distribution for the nanofibers with an average fiber diameter of 180 nm.The mechanical property results showed that the addition of AgNPs decreased the mechanical strength significantly but the mechanical strength could still support wound dressing application.于奎 周香香 El-Aassar M R 朱同贺 吴俣 王娟 冯文浩 MORSI Yosry 莫秀梅 2017Journal of Donghua University(English Edition)2017,34,1:2
12Peripheral interventions and antiplatelet therapy: Role in current practice显示文摘Peripheral arterial disease(PAD) is a common disorder associated with a high risk of cardiovascular mortality and continues to be under-recognized. The major risk factors for PAD are similar to those for coronary and cerebrovascular disease. Management includes exercise program, pharmacologic therapy and revascularization including endovascular and surgical approach. The optimal revascularization strategy, endovascular or surgical intervention, is often debated due to the paucity of head to head randomized controlled studies. Despite significant advances in endovascular interventions resulting in increased utilization over surgical bypass, significant challenges still remain. Platelet activation and aggregation after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of atherosclerotic arteries are important risk factors for re-occlusion/restenosis and life-threatening thrombosis following endovascular procedures. Antiplatelet agents are commonly prescribed to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke and death from cardiovascular causes in patients with PAD. Despite an abundance of data demonstrating efficacy of antiplatelet therapy in coronary artery disease and cerebrovascular disease, there is a paucity of clinical information, clinical guidelines and randomized controlled studies in the PAD population. Hence, data on antiplatelet therapy in coronary interventions is frequently extrapolated to peripheral interventions. 15Synthesis, spectral, optical and anti-inflammatory activity of complexes derived from 2-aminobenzohydrazide with some rare earths显示文摘Three new metal complexes derived from Er(III), Dy(III) and Zr(IV) with 2-aminobenzohydrazide(ABH) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H-NMR, ES-MS and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The morphology and the particle size were determined by TEM. The results showed that the ligand acted as neutral bi-dentate coordinating to the metal ions through the carbonyl oxygen and amidic amino nitrogen. The aromatic amine group remained inert towards coordination. The optical band gap was measured and found to be 3.3, 3.5 and 4.3 e V for Er(III), Dy(III) and Zr(IV), respectively. The optical band gap values indicated a semi-conducting nature of the investigated complexes.
