| 2 | Active compounds of medicinal plants,mechanism for antioxidant and beneficial effects显示文摘An increased interest in the antioxidant effects of medicinal plants has developed in recent years.Identifying antioxidant compounds present in medicinal plants and elucidating the mechanism by which they prevent oxidation have been the focus of the research community.We performed a systematic and exhaustive review aimed at analyzing the available data regarding the beneficial effects of secondary metabolites in plants.The result of this review is presented as a description of free radicals,as well as cellular and physiological oxidative stress,is provided.The origin and source of antioxidant compounds,and the cellular and molecular mechanism by which they exert antioxidant effects,have been reported.The absorption,distribution and,elimination of antioxidants are mentioned.The beneficial effects of secondary metabolites of medicinal plants in various high incidence disease conditions were also reviewed.Finally,disease states that benefit from antioxidant compounds includes diabetes,cancer,cardiovascular diseases,and liver,brain and,intestinal diseases. | Orozco Montes F A Vázquez-Hernández B Fenton-Navarro | 2019 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2019，88，1： | 5 |
| 3 | Intraoperative laparoscopic complications for urological cancer procedures显示文摘AIM: To structure the rate of intraoperative complications that requires an intraoperative or perioperative resolution. METHODS: We perform a literature review of Medline database. The research was focused on intraoperative laparoscopic procedures inside the field of urological oncology. General rate of perioperative complications in laparoscopic urologic surgery is described to be around 12.4%. Most of the manuscripts published do not make differences between pure intraoperative, intraoperative with postoperative consequences and postoperative complications. RESULTS: We expose a narrative statement of complications, possible solutions and possible preventions for most frequent retroperitoneal and pelvic laparoscopic surgery. We expose the results with the following order: retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery(radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy and adrenalectomy) and pelvic laparoscopic surgery(radical prostatectomy and radical cystectomy).CONCLUSION: Intraoperative complications vary from different series. | 5 | Matrix metalloproteases and their tissue inhibitors in non-alcoholic liver fibrosis of human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients显示文摘AIM To investigate the relationships among diverse metalloproteases(MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors(TIMPs) and non-alcoholic liver fibrosis in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-infected patients.METHODS Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in MMPs, TNF-α and CCR5 genes, and serum levels of MMPs and TIMPs were determined in HIV-infected individuals with/out hepatitis C virus(HCV) coinfection. A total of 158 patients were included, 57 of whom were HCVcoinfected. All patients drank < 50 g ethanol/day. Diverse SNPs(MMP-1-1607 1G/2G, MMP-8-799C/T, MMP-9-1562 C/T, MMP-13-77A/G, TNF-α-308 G/A,CCR5-?32), and serum levels of MMPs(2, 3, 8, 9 and 10) and TIMPs(1, 2 and 4) were assessed. Liver fibrosis was determined by transient elastometry, although other non-invasive markers of fibrosis were also considered. Significant liver fibrosis(F ≥ 2) was defined by a transient elastometry value ≥ 7.1 kP a.RESULTS A total of 34 patients(21.5%) had liver fibrosis ≥ F2. MMP-2 and TIMP-2 serum levels were higher in patients with liver fibrosis ≥ F2(P = 0.02 and P = 0.03, respectively) and correlated positively with transient elastometry values(P = 0.02 and P = 0.0009, respectively), whereas MMP-9 values were negatively correlated with transient elastometry measurements(P = 0.01). Multivariate analyses showed that high levels of MMP-2(OR = 2.397; 95%CI: 1.191-4.827, P = 0.014) were independently associated with liver fibrosis ≥ F2 in the patients as a whole. MMP-2(OR = 7.179; 95%CI: 1.210-42.581, P = 0.03) and male gender(OR = 10.040; 95%CI: 1.621-62.11, P = 0.013) were also independent predictors of fibrosis ≥ F2 in the HCV-infected subgroup. Likewise, MMP-2, TIMP-2 and MMP-9 were independently associated with transient elastometry values and other non-invasive markers of liver fibrosis. | 6 | Unexplained liver laceration after metastasis radiofrequency ablation显示文摘Many studies have established the role of radiofrequency (RF) ablation as a minimally invasive treatment for liver metastases. Although relatively safe, several complications have been reported with the increased use of RF ablation. We describe here a case of unexplained liver laceration after a RF procedure. A woman who presented a solitary metachronous liver metastasis underwent RF ablation treatment for this lesion. Six hours later the patient displayed fatigue and pallor. Emergency blood tests showed a haemoglobin level of < 7 g/dL and markedly elevated transaminase levels. A computed tomography examination revealed two areas of liver laceration with haematoma, one of them following the path of the needle and the other leading away from the f irst. Following a blood transfusion, the patient was haemodynamically stable and completely recovered 24 h later. The patient remained in bed for 1 wk.
